I'm fine with skipping but I didn't send any. I don't like the idea of RP'ing before the game starts. I have active games over 3 years old and post 20 times a day or so. I would love to play in your game and will keep it active and drive the game forward.

No problem skipping the reply, it was just one message from me so not much time lost there.

Hope you get the identity theft sorted out. I haven't had to fight myself, but I know the classic credit cards have quite good protections for the customer. It is a pain to go through, but in the end the credit card company has to take the hit from fraud purchases, not the customer.

That really sucks that happened. It's good that you caught it so early and got it taken care of. No need to respond to any pm I sent, must he hard having to go through them all already. I think we are all just happy to see that the dm has acceded from the sky to return to his people.

If you can do so soon, Gareth, let me know. I was told to get protection, but have no idea what sort of protection to get.

I already had a firewall, several anti-bug/malware/virus programs, and a countermeasure program on my computer.

All I know is that the bank said said that the IP that had charged over 2K to my account has an IP that bounces between servers around the world, which tells me that they know what they are doing with proxy servers and such.

Thank you all, by the way, for being understanding.

Sure, you can skip mine. I mostly sent it to try to get a feel for whether this was another troll. :)

Sorry to hear about your stolen id issues! Those suck!

Skip away, my good DM!

Okay guys, I'm about to go play my druid on WoW for a while and may also finally get around to spiffying up my Goblin bank alt with a tuxedo and such. That said, I am taking my laptop with me and will check hourly or bi-hourly for updates and/or questions from you guys.

And if anyone plays WoW, I am on Steamwheedle Cartel, primarily on the Horde side.

... You know, whilst I would love to take part in a game like this, there is no way I'm going to be able to get my character complete and up to an appropriate level... the crunch is easy, but there's just no way I can get a good fluff for them, especially when I really struggle with backgrounds to begin with...

So, I'm gonna offically withdraw. Through as I haven't exactly been posting here, doubt anyone is sad to see me drop.

I have had a few hundred bucks stolen 4 or 5 times over the past 5 or 6 years. I think it happens to me because we use my debit card for eating out and gas while my wife's is set up to pay the bills. I did have some stolen through Xbox before. The best defense is to use credit card not your debit card. Credit card can be ran up but they will close it and not charge you if it is stolen. Most banks will give you back your money if it is a debit card but it may take a few days. Last time it happened to me they took $800 a few days before the mortgage was due. We just payed it on a credit card then payed off the card when I got the money back. I'm not saying getting protection isn't worth it but it just all seems like another scam. I still don't have any additional protection I don't think its worth the money they want to charge and not sure what it does for you.

As it should be. I don't play much any more but some allegiances never die ;p

Feel free to skip my RP message, too, Lord of the Wilds.

Sucks about the identity theft thing.

Go ahead and skip mine too. Glad everything's worked out. :)

Oof. Sorry to hear about the financial troubles. Glad to see that you've returned, though. And yeah, feel free to skip my RP PM. I don't know much about identity theft protection (oddly enough, I had an interview with a place that does it last week, and I missed it), though I hope you're able to get it all resolved swiftly.

Yikes, identity theft isn't a fun time. Glad to hear things are worked out, though. I'm going to get my gold spent, but other than that Jonathan is complete and ready to go. I really just have to figure out how much gold I've already spent, then go off of that. Probably just going to get my horse some barding, and some better tools and manacles.

I have an idea for a PC that I will be posting later tonight. I'm in class now but will post an intro to him soon.

This is Glib "Goldentoung" Lebeda he is a narcissistic person and will use perform Oratory (Narcissism) to aid his fellows in combat. He will also learn to use performance feats as time goes on so that he can also trip and and demoralize his foes as well. He is a great support member and will also be a fantastic party "face"

Fluff:

Glib grew up in the capital of New Stetven bearing the name Lebeda but having no real power because of it. Growing up as a dock worker he learned sylvin and the importance of knowing other languages. He grew up a very narcissistic person but was somehow able to draw others to him despite this quality. He was liked by most everyone he met even his cousins that were of much higher standing than him. However Glib bore a secret resentment for his better off family members because he knew it was wasted on them. Glib got a night job working as a storyteller and playing instruments in many bands to try and scrape by and while he got the respect from others he wanted he didn’t get the power he knew he deserved.

When the idea for the expedition was first introduced Glib jumped at the opportunity to join. He wanted to gain the recognition he deserved. After going through many trials concerning abilities, diplomatic skills, survival techniques ,and more he was forced to engage in combat against the one other person to come as far as he did. His opponent used a rapier and was very skillful however Glib ended up on top only because of his ability to trip his ability from afar. By keeping his opponent unable to do anything about this complete shut down glib was chosen as the victor. However it was stated that he would only be able to succeed with the help of others.

Upon being chosen he was given a finely crafted whip with his family crest on it. As well as being given a large sum of money to help him in his travels.

Just as a note, all my gold is spent and Jonathan is 100% ready, should he be chosen. If you have any questions about gear, or the character, just shoot me a PM. Looking forward to seeing who is selected.

Okay, the recruitment has officially ended! Those who haven't finished that have posted may finish their characters with up to 3 additional days, after which selections will be made.

@GM, I sent you the info on the identity theft thing by PM.

Ugh. I hate waiting.

Aaaaand I'm late, I'm always late to find the good ones.

Is three additional days Saturday morning, then? I'm just trying to get some idea of when selections will be made. I don't mind waiting, as I have enough games (plus Dark Souls) to keep me occupied, but it'd be nice to have a semi-solid timetable.

For those who didn't make it in, but were still looking for a Kingmaker game, I'm starting recruitment for one (non-gestalt, non-mythic). Recruitment thread is here.

You should probably at least wait for the actual selection to happen before you start poaching players. ;)

Didn't realize it hadn't been finalized. Well, think of it as a second chance after this DM is done selecting. Sorry fellow DM! :D

So I made a new thread for some preliminary RP. Many of you expressed interest in some PM RP with the DM to solidify their character's personalities and mannerisms. RL got in the way of that so I made this thread to help with that. So if anyone wants to hop over and join the fun, be my guest. I will not be DM'ing though. There will be no NPC's, just our PC's interacting. My character has already arrived.

Here it is.

Don't suppose you'd allow a werewolf? Fluff is in this alias.

More keen on skinwalkers, though maaaaaayyyyyyyybe if a big part of the campaign was finding a cure for your condition. Werewolf bonuses are pretty enormous for a low-level game, mainly because of the DR. When transformed it would be very hard for most low-level mundane enemies to hurt you (DR 5 or more!). Also the possibility of freaking out and killing the party, or turning all of them into werewolves, has the potential to hurl things right off into strange places. I'd think about it, but it's the kind of character quality that, at low levels, has a tendency to really bend the game around the character.

As Castor indicated, perhaps this is best taken into the recruitment thread for that game, or PMs. It is rather bad form to be discussing character generation guidelines for another game in this game's thread.

Right, sorry.

Tomorrow needs to come sooner.

I know, right?

I do agree. I'm very curious about who has caught GM LOTW's eye.

Selections will be made tonight! :)

I also saw a few cool unofficial supplements for this campaign and picked them up, so expect some more cool stuff!

Thanks for the update, GM!

As a last question: If selected, will we be able to make changes to our character sheets to better complement the party?

Of course!

The anticipation is real. Good luck, everyone!

Iavas, fellow devout of Desna, it's pretty unlikely we'll both get in, but I bid you good luck nontheless, and let there not be harsh feeling between us, whichever makes it.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

So excite!

Castor, it would be wonderful for our goddess to have us both working for the kingdom. Still, better to have one than none.

Go with her blessings, and mine, my friend.

Glib got a night job working as a storyteller and playing instruments in many bands to try and scrape by and while he got the respect from others he wanted he didn’t get the power he knew he deserved.

Glib also had a past that most didn't know about. Glib ran a sort of organized crime syndicate. The main thing that Glib was into was the movement of illicit goods. With his job at the dockyard, his ability to influence and lie to to others, and finally with him constantly being at local pubs to preform he was able to move product both very efficiently and carefully. No one ever expected him for his crimes and only those few people in the upper tier of his syndicate of roughly 100 people knew he was behind it all. This taste of power and wealth only caused him to spite his family members further for what they had and he did not.

When the idea for the expedition was first introduced Glib jumped at the opportunity to join. He wanted to gain the recognition he deserved. After going through many trials concerning abilities, diplomatic skills, survival techniques ,and more he was forced to engage in combat against the one other person to come as far as he did. This is the updated Glib with one more paragraph in his fluff and his alignment has changed to LE. To any PC's who may be concerned about me being LE I am able to work with he party I've done a few evil campaigns before it won't become an in-game issue.

Very curious to see the selections.

This is like waiting on the lottery. Though if anyone spent money on tickets for this I do have some bad news for them.

Good luck to everyone!

If it is any consolation, I would pick you both, were I the one making the selections.

Best of luck to all! This is so exciting!

I'm stepping out of the run. Good luck to the ones who stay, and have fun!
