Checking in, thanks for the selection DireMerc. Hello to everyone!
@GM
Were we using the Background Skill rules or not? I remember seeing in an early post in the interest thread where you said yes, but when I was in the Emerald Spire thread that you mentioned you weren't using them for that campaign. So I wasn't sure if that was universal or just specific to there. Right now I don't have them so was I am just curious!
I should be done, I just need to update my quick info bar with stats.

Morde Chai |

Character is almost ready.
I would also like background skills, I think they help flesh out a character rather nicely!
Very exicted to be chosen.
Just now working out what companion to pick. Leaning towards a grizzley bear. Like the man from the mountains!

Betto Calvus |

I'm nearly done with Betto Calvus, farmer and (former) bar brawler. He's a family man, if very rough around the edges.
Rolling for starting money:
x10 gold: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 4) = 16
So 160 gold. Grand job!

Zelik |

I thought I saw in the post that we were rolling for HP, so here is that.
HP: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
I also wasn't sure what you meant by normal wealth, if it was average or roll. SO here is a roll for that.
Wealth: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5
And could I do any pre-game crafting ie. a scroll or two that I bring with me.
I am working on a spread sheet for Zelik's gear, but other than that he should mostly be complete.
Edit: Off to a real great start I am... Looks like that favored class bonus will be going into HP after all.

Zelik |

So Zelik is about done, just need to adjust some numbers and like my item spread sheet.
I did want to know about pregame crafting of a scroll or two, archetypes for familiar, and my backstory talks about how Zelik is mostly in his home when the craziness breaks out, but instead do you want him at the carnival?

DireMerc |

So just so you know you currently have 7 npc following, none which are very combat ready. (1 warrior, 1 aristocrat, 2 experts and 2 commoners and Aubrin who is badly wounded) You were able to gather 12 provisions points from the bar (I will explain those later) basically think of it as assorted foods and supplies. Now who you find and what you get from each location is determined by what order you visit them in. If you had visited the temple last for example you would have found it looted and mostly empty.

Radok Mokak |

Well, if we hit the shrine first, we can do the rest of the locations in a circle - moving to the trade company and then Oreld's shop. In terms of time efficiency, that makes the most sense, and puts us as close to the bridge as we can.
That being said, what does Oreld's fine shop tend to sell?

DireMerc |

Actually I looked it up and found this.
Owned by three generations of healers and herbalists in the Oreld family, Oreld’s Fine Shop supplies Phaendar with remedies, dyes, glues, and paints. The shop’s owner, Vane Oreld (N male middle-aged human expert 2) is also the closest thing Phaendar has to a doctor. Oreld is a middleaged Taldan with light brown skin, amber eyes, dark brown hair, and a neatly trimmed goatee. He wears a shirt whose cuffs are stained with unknown substances and breeches under a thick leather apron.

Jasmine Aiba |

While that plan is efficient distance wise, supply wise that could end up being the worst idea.
A. Oreld's fine shop
B. Phaendar trading company
C. Riverwood Shrine at location
D. Taproot Inn
E. Phaendar Bridge End point so Last
The market green is were the traders have their wagons.
------
Think about what could be critical to get from one of these locations.
A Doctor is VERY critical thing especially if the healer is down...
But what are the Other critical things that could be at the other locations.
I see a trading company generally has a internal warehouse so there would be a lot of supplies and if there is a merchant rescued we could then be able to get more supplies.
Taproot Inn
The Booze can be used for; medicine, fire fuel, and has other uses.
The Inn could also be stocked with food supplies (which would be needed when kicked out of town and into the woods)
SO yeah let's REALLY think this through and not jump on any idea as this decision will be effecting us for the rest of this book and maybe the next.

Radok Mokak |

Let's pick up Orled's after the shrine - medical supplies are going to be a must, especially on these lower levels.
Food is going to be necessary unless someone has a ludicrous survival skill, enough to collect food for everyone. I think that's going to be a bit of a ridiculous expectation, so we'll have to find that either at the inn or the trading company.

Betto Calvus |

Fair points on medical supplies and food.
@DireMerc, a thought on initiative. It might be best if you roll them for us, so as not to be held up waiting on anyone to roll initiative.

Betto Calvus |

I found this suggested method of dividing loot quite fair. It's worth discussing the topic before loot starts piling up.
Any equipment picked up a character can take up and use. Any items not claimed for use are sold off and added to the gold which is then divided evenly. If a claimed item is later sold (as a better one is found or they buy an upgrade) then the value of it is split among everyone.
If of course someone uses their share of the gold to buy an item it is their item and if later sold the gold is entirely theirs.
Consumable items get used, it's what they are there for. If you guys are buying 'group items' like the Wand of CLW ye are going to discuss it beforehand and work something out. For CLW probably everyone will pitch in... a hard rule on this isn't needed as it'll be a case by case basis. I could see a party with a sorceror and monk having just the two of them buy a wand of mage armour between just the two of them

Filon Cen |

I'd vote the trading company, but Orled's is an acceptable alternative to me.

This seems reasonable to me. I'm all for even distribution except when something is obviously useful to someone, like that wand of Magic Missile ought to (in my opinion) be given to our resident Wizard at the first opportunity where it makes IC sense.

Radok Mokak |

Hobgoblin Ranger Gear:
-mwk battleaxe
-mwk handaxe
-composite longbow +2 str
-20 arrows
-studded leather armor
-backpack
-bedroll
-fur blanket
-mess kit
-small tent
-30 gp
Anyone need armor that doesn't have it already? Me and Betto can use the weapons, especially the battleaxe with our high strength scores. The handaxe is a light weapon, which is nice, but proficiency may be a problem for most of the group due to it being a martial weapon.
Morde, I'm guessing you want the bow?
The backpack and such is handy, I'd hold onto it if need be.

Radok Mokak |

It's pretty equal between you and me: we both have the same strength score, and can use manufactured weapons (my constructed limb works as one, which is nice).
The only difference I can think of is use of combat maneuvers. You have Dirty Fighting, which means you can use them sometimes, but I cannot.
Keeping that in mind, I think I'll take the battleaxe.

Zelik |

I need to link my spreadsheet to my character but as I can recall I can't really carry too much
@GM I took a rank in appraise, but I saw in the post about loot that you had given the prices for everything. Will I get a chance to use that or is it going to be mostly a waste in how you give loot? I'm not complaining, just asking

DireMerc |

Appraise comes in handy from time to time I will ask for an appraise check when examining a statue or something in a dungeon although for a lot of loot I do mark the price down mostly so I don't have to go look it up again in the book later.
As a note is there someone in the group that is willing to take on the task of keeping track of loot?

I would be willing to do it. Anyone have any brilliant set-ups they like to use to track loot by?

Filon Cen |

Okay, that is what I will do.
Google Sheets Loot
How will that work out, anything else you would like tracked? How detailed do you want me to be, since this campaign seems a bit more resource intensive, should I track arrows and such as well? I was planning on just using the CRB pricing unless I hear otherwise. I will update it tomorrow probably, as it is just about my bed time!
I could use the armor and maybe like 10 arrows. Right now I have 17 or 16 (need to count) Cold Iron Arrows that I'd like to save. But neither is super important to me if others are in need. The Comp Longbow's strength rating is a bit too high for me to effectively use so if Morde wants it, then that's cool with me.

Zelik |

Ahh, gotcha. I glanced over some of the back stories, but wasn't sure on a few. If they were visitors or locals, or like you and Betto, a local but living outside of town.

Filon Cen |

Filon was a member of the Caravan as well. Though he has been in town in the past selling and buying wares.
I'm going to hold onto the armor as well.
I made separate sheets for everyone where items can be moved over time to save space on the main group sheet. I also made it so that anyone should be able to edit the sheet.
