Jord Sturmsson |

Jord claps Kunala on the back... joining him when he is in proximity to Reinald... "Well done both of you with your throws, tis good to see, some who can throw ably.. and yes that was me wishing the blessings of Kurgess on all, I'm a priest of Kurgess if you didn't know."
He listens to what they are saying
"Friends can be useful, Sandara the cleric of Besmara is a good sort, always good to have a cleric on your side."

Kunala |
Sorry I jumped into so many conversations, not trying to ignore anyone. if it's ok can we fit this answer into the conversation before Kunala did his little dance? I will try to remember not to be in such a hurry ;)
answering Kurd before he yells out to Jerieth
Kurgess and Besmara, they are gods of the northern continent.' Nodding in agreement with Kored. "Yes friends are what will help us most right now. You must introduce me to your friend Sandara soon." smiling he nods toward Jerieth, "But right now I will try and make another friend." Kunala steps away from his two new friends and gives his flourish.
sorry about carrying on too much at a time, I will try and be more patient.

Jerieth |

Its cool. I'm actually liking this.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 1 = 15 Trying to get the crew's attention
Local: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 Seeing if she knows any local Shackles dances if there are. ;P

"I prefer my redheads to be women boys, but I'm not going to tell anyone man or woman that they can't dance with me! So feel free to have some fun on the dance floor. And yes Kored, you have to introduce us to Sandara. But first watch this little dance number!"
Using some magic, she made the illusion that she had six arms! She then began to dance an ancient dance.

Dr. Genade |

The doctor watches the crew go about their various diversions. None of the uncouth games seemed like the type of intellectual challenge he would enjoy. Dancing? He preferred a waltz in a ballroom.
Fighting exhaustion, he heads below deck. If i'm going to be rotting away in this wreck, I ought to at least have a preferable bunk. He searches the crew quarters, looking for a berth that is drier, more private, and unclaimed.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Kunala |
'Six arms, nice, I wonder is she is familiar with Chamidu, did she do that just for me? This dance is familiar to others I have seen.' Seeing a style of dance that he was familiar with, Kinala started to dance a similar dance, one where the male fills the role of the adoring worshiper.
As they dance he quietly introduces himself, smiling. "I am Kuanla, obviously you have figured out that I am Vudrani, our red headed friend is Reinald and the big bearded Ulfen is Jord, We need influence to rid ourselves of the Plugg, are you interested?"

Reinald Malcoms |

Reinald chuckles at his spurned rejection, but calls out when she makes the illusion of extra arms he calls out, "Only female redheads . . . is this ship cursed?"

Sejanus Corvus |

Sejanus is not the athletic sort, and does not leap at the chance to let the crew laugh at his attempts. He does, however, overhear Reinald's lament.
He walks up behind him quietly and whispers, "I can fix that." He reaches up and taps him on the head. The fighter's hair shifts from brown to flaming red. "It will only last a while. Go have some fun."
I cast Prestidigitation.

Diamondust |

Reinald wins the Hog Lob game and 5 silver pieces from several who bet on the game.
The fiery red-headed Sandara watches the dancing with amusement, tapping her foot to the rhythm though she is no dancer. She comes over to Jord and introduces herself to the rest of you. "First days are always the hardest. You'll get used to the routine. Trust me. This isn't my first time sailing with pirates."

Reinald Malcoms |

Smiling along with Sejanus Reinald steps out to dance removing his hat dramatically showing off his now fiery red hair. "What do you think?" Reinald calls out to Jerieth.

Jerieth |

Jerieth laughs a bit at Reinald's literally fiery hair.
"Looks good on you Reinald! Thatll probably attract the ladies like moths to a candle!"
Upon seeing Sandara, the undine grinned.
"Well now, hello good looking," Jerieth said to the priestess of Besmara, "I must say you look like a fine and good looking woman. I'm betting you're good in bed too."
Charisma check to flirt/romance with Sandara: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 = 14

Reinald Malcoms |

Reinald chokes on a laugh at Jerieth's brazen approach, he recovers and tosses Jerieth a sideways glance, "Subtle." He looks to Sandara, "That's good to hear. Hope this turns out to be a solid a ship."

Sejanus Corvus |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Sejanus approaches Sandara and tries a different tact. "Hey there. How would you like to spend an evening with the world's greatest listener? Gossip about your friends. Complain about your coworkers. Tell me about every tiny detail of your day. Go ahead. I will agree and sympathize with everything you say. I will listen to you all. night. long."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
In a witty tone, not a literal tone.

Kunala |
'That was fun, it's been a long time since I've danced the Mata.' After the dance Kunala catches his breath for a moment, Watching listening to the different individuals, Realizing he hasn't introduced himself to his dance partner or the red head Sandara or the witty well-groomed bald man. He approaches the group, placing his palms together and bowing slightly nodding his head to the right he says "I am Kunala" then looking at Sandara smiling, but so everone can hear. "I have also sailed before but on a privateer out of Nex." Then smaller, realizing that all but Sandara had been in the bar the night before. "Do you know what they have done with our gear? I would really like by pistol and tulwar back."

Diamondust |

Sandara did not seem too impressed with Jerieth's flirting. She continued to talk to the others. "That seems an interesting prospect. However we must turn in soon. Surely you don't want to be tired for tomorrow's work. If they're hard on new recruits it won't let up after one day. I did find out where they have all your things. Grok the Quartermaster has a store. A small room just inside the galley. You must have seen her while you were in there today. I managed to get my possessions returned to me by playing on the pirates superstitions and my own connections to Besmara. I believe I am something of a good luck charm at the moment."
"Perhaps if you play along you might have your things returned to you eventually. Or there might be other ways you can convince Grok to return your things to you." It getting late several of the crew are already heading down below and Sandara aswell decides to go get some rest for tomorrow.

Jerieth |

"Hm...Girl's a tight nut to crack. No matter. I love me a challenge," the undine thought to herself.
"That's good to know Sandara. Appreciate the advice. If you ever want to take me up on my offer just let me know."
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10 Checking to see if Sandara is hiding anything. Jerieth can be pragmatic at times.
Charisma check: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 = 18

Kunala |
She's right I did meet Grok. She is a friend of Fishguts.' Kunala nodded his head, looking from Sandara to the others, "I did meet Grok, in the galley, she is a friend of Fishguts. He and I have gotten along real well. If I see her tomorrow I will begins to see if I can make friends with her also. In the meantime, everyone should follow Jerieths advice and try to start gaining influence. I don't plan on waiting for this Plugg fellow to use his 'cat' on me."
Nodding toward the other crew members who are going below deck. Kunala points out, "Maybe we should hit the sack, we don't want to stand out and we sure don't want to be tired." Turning to his new friends "Good night all, and good luck."
As Kunala begins to walk way he turns back smiling to Jerieth he adds "and thanks for the dance Jerieth, you remind me of my mother." then he continues walking toward his bunk.

Jord Sturmsson |

"Yes rest.. lets see if I can not almost crush my foot with that Hog after a good nights rest"
He heads down below and finds himself an empty birth the sleep in.

Reinald Malcoms |

"Hm...Girl's a tight nut to crack. No matter. I love me a challenge," the undine thought to herself.
"That's good to know Sandara. Appreciate the advice. If you ever want to take me up on my offer just let me know."
Reinald looks Jerieth's way points to his hair, "Just saying."

Diamondust |

Everyone eventually gets to bed and falls asleep without incident. Just the rocking of the ship to quickly put you to sleep. None of the new recruits are set to lookout duty throughout the night.
The next morning the bell tolls and the crew hurry to get on deck on time to report for their shifts. Before you can climb the stairs several of the pirates block your path. The same 6 that surrounded you when you woke up yesterday. You know them as Aretta, Fipps, Jape, Maheen, Syl and Tam. "In a hurry?" Aretta says and laughs pushing Sejanus in the chest and away from the stairs. A few of the other crew loiter above the stairs though most have continued on to the deck without stopping.

Kunala |
Waking after a restful night at sea, Kunala gets around quickly, headed to the deck he sees the thugs push Sejanus, 'Can't have any of that, now can we.' Kunala quickly give Sejanus an arm up, speaking quickly to the bullies. "gentlemen, gentlemen, gentlemen, there is no need to push others about, were all on the same crew here. After the pleasant evening we had last night, lets not ruin it with course behavior!"

Jerieth is using water probably from outside to create barriers separating the crew members attacking us and ourselves but allowing us to make a run for the stairs. She's using her watersong abilities, which is a performance ability similar to a bard's inspire courage ability or something along those lines.

'Ow, I hate fist fights, gotta get my pistol back so I can just hit them over the head with the barrel' Kunala. wiping blood from his lip, glares at Maheen and takes a swing at the big Rahadoumi.

When unarmed you never get AoO's unless you have the Improved Unarmed Strike feat like Jord does. So no AoO's for almost everyone.
The fist fights are suddenly interrupted as ribbons of water rush into the room forming a sinuous wall of ice between each of the pirates that were blocking your way. At first they seem surprised then they start hitting the ice trying to break down the wall before you can escape. You see cracks forming and Maheen puts a fist through it. You know it wont last long before they break through. The stairs are free and running around the wall you quickly get to the deck along with several others who were curiously watching the fight but startled into action when Jerieth's magical water rushed past them.
On deck Mr. Plugg and Master Scourge await to give orders for the day. Scourge seems surprised to see you. The other six rush up behind you with worried looks on their faces. The captain is standing above you all on the Bowdeck with the other officers next to him Peppery Longfarthing the Sailing Master and Riaris Krine the Master Gunner, both women. "It was her." Peppery says and calls forth magical incantations.

Kunala |
'Impressive, she wasn't lying' Seeing the wall of ice go up, Kunala blows a kiss to the large oaf and bolts up the ladder to the deck.
'Crap this is a bigger reception than I expected' Seeing the officers assembled Kunala begins to get nervous when he sees the one called Peppery Longfarthing start doing an incantation, 'This can't be good, oh crap they figured out it was Jerith.'
Realizing this was about to go south for his new friend Kunala steps forward. "Begin' yer pardon Captain, She wasn't wielding magic against the crew, she was just wielding magic." Kunala quickly looks to his new found friends for support and goes on. "I'm Kunala, new to the ship and I was speaking to this young lady here, name of Jerith she's new to the ship too." Realizing he was loosing his audience he went on. "Well, she claimed to be a watersinger, saying she can control water. A couple of us said she couldn't so she showed us." Shrugging his shoulders and giving the Captain his best boyish grin. "Boy do I feel stupid, didn't mean for it to come to all this!" Besides I would never wield my magic against anyone on board this fine vessel without your permission. I merely wanted to show the other crew members that I can be a great addition to your amazing and excellently trained crew."
Technically she's telling the truth: she didn't wield her magic against the other crew members. She just put walls of ice between the party and the crew. So pretty much she's telling the truth.

Diamondust |

"Aye and quite a display. Almost made us late reporting for duty." Aretta said.
"We'll see about your usefulness. Scourge, work them twice as hard today. Keep an extra close eye on that undine. No more magic without my permission." the Captain said.
"Aye aye Captain." Scourge said with a glint in his eye and proceeded to assign jobs for the day to his swabs and Mr. Plugg to his riggers as the Captain and his two officers disappeared into the officer's quarters. The six who tried to fight you don't seem to be worked any harder than normal.
Being watched extra close today. No one is allowed below deck unless their job calls for it. Roll stealth if you wish to though.
"Sorry I wasn't able to help," Sandara says to the swabs, "though beating them like that may have just made them hate you more."
"Looks like someone's got it in for you," Ratline says to the riggers, "Aye I like yas, but don't be dragging me into ship squabbles. I like my peace and quite up here being left alone."

As Kunala heads below he hears Grok ask what was going on. 'This is a good opportunity to get to know her a little better.' As he approaches he starts to pick up a few things and starts organizing making sure not to get in the way of his superiors drinking. "The official answer is that Jerieth was showing off. The unofficial answer is that Plugg and Scourge sent a few crewmembers to the hold to soften a few of us up, and Jerieth used water magic to let us get above deck. Reinald finishes his duties looking very weary.

Jord Sturmsson |

After he has finished .. Jord wanders the ship is humming a tune to himself as he makes his way eventually to the storehouse and Grok.

The lowest deck of the ship, the bilges are a foul, damp place with thick cobwebs above and 1–2 feet of dark, brackish water that stinks abominably below. A ladder leads up to a trap door that opens in the lower hold(crew berths), and a single bilge pump rests near the stern. The bilges also double as the ship’s brig, and six sets of masterwork manacles are fixed to the bulkheads in the forward portion of the deck. Amongst the filth Jord finds several lost items.
- a buckler
- a masterwork handaxe
- a vial of holy water
- a tanglefoot bag

-----
Jerieth successfully makes friends with Rosie Cusswell whom you remember being one of the other six recruited at the same time as you. A foul mouthed and well muscled female halfling. She hates Plugg and Scourge and has threatened to chop off the hand of anyone who touches her beloved handaxe and she laments being unable to get her fiddle back from Grok due to losing her temper initially.
-----
A day in the bilges will be until dinner time. You can diplomacy then
You find out that Cut-Throat Grok has been a pirate her entire life earning her name by killing an entire gang of cut-throats on her own using the greataxe that hangs from her belt. She has a scar across her neck from them. She is a good friend to Fishguts and soon warms to Kunala and Jord. "Everything you think you own is property of the Captain now. When you came on board as one of the crew, pressganged or no, that's the way things are. Until the Captain gives orders for your things to be returned there's nothing I can do. And don't give me that 'good lady' drivel. I'd cut your throat if it served my ends."
Being an officer it is unlikely anyone would question the returning of your things. Though she seems to like you she doesn't do things for free and seems to not care about this Kurgess.
-----
Sandara uses her status as a priest of Besmara to ask for a blessing from her. Disguised in this she channels positive energy healing all who were injured from the fist fight. Plugg and Scourge watch her but do not seem to suspect anything. The spirits of the pirates on board are lifted however at this apparent favour from Besmara.

Kunala |
sense motive: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Once Kunala returns with the few scrawny fish that he caught, he takes then to the galley, and begins to clean the fish. When he sees fishguts he tells him. "Not a good catch boss, I got out too late. I'll clean em up, so we can fix em later, then I'll get the galley cleaned up for tomorrow. I figure I better hit the bilges tomorrow, so no one accuses you of favoritism.'
The next time he saw Grok, he got close enough that he could whisper, "I know you don't like breaking the captains rules, but lets face it there more like guidelines anyway. Property of the captain or not, nothing would be leaving the ship. No offense, but we are pirates and everything has a price, what would it take for a few items being discreetly put in a few hands, no one the wiser?"

Diamondust |

"How about this. You teach me what you know about guns and I'll tell the captain I'm investigating new weapons. Not too many in the shackles have that knowledge. Since you're the expert on such things here I'll let you 'look after' it for now." Grok agrees to return all your things to you on these conditions.
