"I agree. He should be allowed to heal Owlbear," the watersinger said.

Well that should help some I guess.
Reinald Malcoms
Reinald spends the fight cheering for Jord and watching the crew and officers. When he sees the club enter play he is not surprised, "Pathetic," he mumbles.
When Jord requests to heal Owlbear, "If there is no prize let the man heal the brute and leave no bruise."
Sejanus Corvus
2 people marked this as a favorite.
"Boooo! Hssss! Hssss!" Sejanus voices his displeasure at the sudden turn of events, but quickly abandons the fight to avoid drawing attention. He claps the holy man on the shoulder in congratulations. "Well, at least you were victorious, Jord. You might want have a word with Owlbear and heal him once Plugg is away. After all, it appears he had little choice in the matter."
Mongo only pawn in game of life...
Dr. Genade
Genade watches the fight with disdain at first, then increasing interest as Owlbear breaks down. "Interesting specimen." he says to himself, "I would like to examine the brute."
Jord Sturmsson
Jord will wait til there is no one around and approach owlbear
with a touch he will cast cure light wounds on the man
With a smile and a wink he says "Do not worry, slaves we be today but not every day." then Jord goes and finds his bed to sleep in.
Kunala
Kunala, slaps Jord on the back and winks at Owlbear, speaking quietly. "My friend here is right, It won't always be like this, you'll see."
Following Jord to the hold, he tells him, "I need to get a good nights sleep, tomorrow it's the bilges for me!" Climbing in his hammock, near where he locked up his gear, Kunala goes to sleep dreaming of his own ship.
Jerieth
"Ah it's alright. Just shows he's a poor loser...although he's rich in the 'how not to make friends department.' But eh you win some and lose some. That's how the world works, but it does add to the sense of striving to overcome challenges that the world throws at you, so nothing to cry about. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep on moving. That's my philosophy, and it's served me quite well," Jerieth told Sandara.
Diplomacy to Flirt: 1d20 + 9 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 9 + 1 - 2 = 24
The undine then grinned at the redheaded woman, saying, "You know, my offer is still on the table for some passion with me? Let's say that you won't be disappointed. I think I got some room for two. How about it?"
Dr. Genade
As the crew disperses, the doctor heads down to the quartermaster's.
"Hello," he greets the half-orc woman, "my friend Kunala sent me. He tells me you are willing to make a deal."
Does he see his sea chest among the other chests and such?
Reinald Malcoms
After the fight and dinner Reinald colapses into his hammock.
Diamondust
"Owlbear have friend." he is thankful for the healing and stops crying.
"Private room on this ship? There seem to definitely be too many ears here Undine." Sandara smiles and continues on with everyone to the lower hold and their hammocks.
Grok's store is closed and she advises doing business tomorrow as she is tired. She and Fishguts sleep in the Quartermaster and Cook’s Cabin next to the galley in the hold above you.
-----
The next day at dawn when the bell rings there are no pirates that try to bar your way and everyone makes it up onto the deck in time. Plugg and Scourge give out jobs and Jack Scrimshaw is commanded to be the one to take Kunala to the bilges today.
While everyone is beginning their work Jack goes below with Kunala and opens the trapdoor to the bilges. He jumps down making a splash in the dark and brackish water down there and is immediately bitten. He yells and rushes to climb out of the bilges. "Something is down there, we have to tell Plugg." He rushes back up on deck with you behind him. "Mr. Plugg!" He rushes over to tell what happened to him.
"I don't care what sort of creature might be down there." Then he has an idea and looks at Kunala, "Your punishment is to be locked up down there. You can deal with this problem too." Plugg also looks for any other volunteers to investigate the creature in the bilges...
Kunala
'Well today it's the bilge, after the antics yesterday a little security couldn't hurt' Kunala takes his kukri out of his trunk and tucking it under several layers hides it his jacket.
Going above deck he isn't surprised to be heading for the bilge, On the way to the bilge Kunala tries to make small talk with Jack. "So where you from Jack? I hail from Nex, well my mom was from Jalmeray and my dad was from the Mana Waste..." 'I'm surprised jack jumped in first.' Watching Jack jump down, he flinches a little when the pirate gets bit, "Are you OK Jack, I know a doctor..."
'No shock there' Not surprised that he's still going to be locked in the bridge, he waits to be locked in.

Jerieth volunteered as well.
"Why not? Might be fun."
Also she was thinking she could use her magic a bit without Scourge and Plugg looking over her shoulder.
Dr. Genade
"I will go as well, though it sounds that I may need a weapon." the doctor steps forward. "Anything for a change of pace." he mutters to himself.
He takes a quick look at Jack's leg before they head down. "Let me see that bite."

Reinald Malcoms
Reinald looks at the situation shrugs, "I'll help too if there is need."
Diamondust
Well if Sejanus volunteers retroactively then he can just say he is with you guys
"Fine go. Jack, give this 'doctor' your dagger since you're too much of a coward to volunteer yourself. No one comes out till the bilges are clear again." Genade's inspection of the wound identifies that Jack has contracted Filth Fever, a disease most commonly carried by rodents. Jack passes you his dagger.
There's nothing to be done for Jack right now so you all head to the bilges. Opening the trap door you peer down into the darkness. If you shine a light down you see ripples in the water but no solid shapes yet.
Kunala
Hey Diamondust, making a couple of assumptions here. The first that Kunala can draw the knife and give it to Reinald. I don't think it matters to him if he gets seen now or not. The second that he can get the kukri out before being attacked. If I need to roll for either let me know.
'Well no time like the present.' While Genades inspects Jacks leg and Plugg is busy fussing at Jack, Kunala quickly pulls the kitchen knife out of his boot and slips it into Reinald's hand "Here, Reinald, just in case there is something down there."
'Don't really want to do this, but they all volunteered to help me, here goes.' Then Kunala quickly drops into the bilge, landing on his feet he quickly draws his kukri.
Reinald Malcoms
"I don't suppose anyone has a dagger or cutlass laying about."
Kunala
Pre Diamondust's answer in Discussion, Kunala posted giving Reinald a dagger (kitchen knife) before he jumped in. Earlier I posted that Kunala had the dagger and kukri hidden but he didn't take any of his larger weapons. Post Diamondust's answer In discussion, If anyone else wants to give Reinald a larger weapon I will not be offended ;)
Jerieth
Jerieth stayed near the front of the party.
She whispered to the others, "I can probably use my magic without me being seen using it."
Reinald Malcoms
I totally missed the kitchen knife. Thank you.
Reinald pulls out a kitchen knife as Sejanus offers the dagger, "Sorry I had forgotten I had . . . this. I can put both to use if no one is unarmed."
Dr. Genade
The doctor takes Jack to his bunk. "You seem to be coming down with a fever. I suggest getting some rest, and drink plenty of water." he tells the sailor, then goes to join the rest of the party heading to the bilges.
"That man Jack seems to have contracted a disease from whatever bit him. I suspect he was attacked by some kind of rodentia. We need to be cautious.
Diamondust
Jack is not permitted to go and rest as he has work he is supposed to do but he thanks you for taking a look at the bite.
-----
You all climb down into the bilges. It is a foul, damp place with thick cobwebs above and 1–2 feet of dark, brackish water that stinks abominably below and a single bilge pump rests near the stern. It also doubles as the ship’s brig, and six sets of masterwork manacles are fixed to the bulkheads in the forward portion of the deck. One of which Kunala expects to be fitted to for the duration of the day.
As you look around you see the water ripple as four rat like creatures the size of a small dog scurry towards you for disturbing their new home. They must have come on board in a dodgy food consignment, gnawed their way out of the crate and made their new home down here in the damp. Best they be eradicated as soon as possible before they can breed and spread.
They are at your feet in no time biting and scratching. Genade(4dmg), Jerieth(3dmg) and Jord(3dmg) are bitten and risk contracting the same disease Jack did. DC 11 fortitude save guys.

Jerieth hisses in pain as she is bitten. She starts not feeling well and she isn't too happy about that, knowing it'll make her tasks onboard the ship more difficult.
She unleashes an ear piercing scream (after taking a few steps back just in case) on the rat that attacked her.

'may as well start pumping' Looking around Kunala nods his head, "Thanks Jord, Nice job everyone, I appreciate you all sticking your necks out like this."
'at least I'm not chained to it.' He walks over to the bilge pump and starts to pump it, smiling "I'd say make yourselves comfortable but," looking around, "It would be sort of silly."
Jerieth
"No problem. Always glad to help out a friend. Although I'm really wishing I hadn't been bitten by one of those rats. I'll just hope I get over it quickly. Speaking of quickly we best get back on deck before we get in trouble," the undine says.
Sejanus Corvus
"Yay, we win!" Sejanus makes what could be interpreted as lackluster jazz-hands and re-sheathes his dagger. "We should probably bring their carcasses to the main deck so Plugg doesn't think we were faking a fight or anything. I'm tempted to say we could leave them in his bunk, but I don't think it would go over well."
Kunala
'That would be funny, dangerous but funny.' Kunala smiles at Sejanus' temptation, looking at Jerieth and Sejanus then up to the trapdoor, "Both of those are good ideas, The leaving and the presenting rats." He smiles at Sejanus "I think the bunk antics may have to wait. But did they lock you folks down here with me for the day or are you going to be able to head back up?"
Diamondust? do they get to leave before the end of the day?
Jord Sturmsson
"Well I drew duty down here, so i'm stuck with ya. cleaning this muck sty out."
Jord does not smile.. but kinda slumps and re-clips his weapon to his belt.
