I spent an alarming amount of arcane energy on that wench....Where to now?
fyi..... Spells Arcanist 1: 5/6, 2: 1/6, 3: 0/6, 4: 0/5, 5: 1/5, 6: 3/5, 7: 2/3 ...........Probably good for one or two more fights.....Do we have a plan for rest and recovery within this prison or do we have to complete the rescue and get outta here in one shot?
Death-Lok |
Elise senses evil from the blade but is protected by the ghost's prior casting of Death Ward on the party. She also feels a sense of sadness as she grips the blade's hilt. She stores it away and the party heads back to the ghost's cell.
Rav, if you find a place you feel is safe, resting is up to you. That fight did drain the spellcasters of resources.
Elise Sunwake |
I burned a decent amount of resources but still have plenty left atm. Magnificent Mansion needs to be picked up Rav lol.. Great spell for resting.
Back to the ghost!
Ravarel Darkwood |
yeah... mansion is next on the list. . for now the best I can do is rope trick
on to the ghost... let's see if it has a recommendation where we can hide out and rest
Ravarel Darkwood |
Elise... ready a heal spell for our gm. sounds like he needs one. ;) hope you feel better soon .. but no rush, we'll be here when you feel better
Death-Lok |
You follow the maze-like path back to the ghost’s cell and thankfully, you are not assaulted on your way back. You enter the empty cell and the ghost of Lady Cessily Mantiel appears. She looks at Elise. ”I sense you have accomplished your goal. Please let me see and touch the scimitar.” When Elise presents the weapon, the ghost sighs and her face exudes a smile for a brief second, before she reaches out to purify the unholy blade. ”I will forever be in your debt for redeeming my soul. You may rest in my cell during your stay in this forsaken place. May Sarenrae watch over you.” The blade is suddenly engulfed a burst of light and the spirit fades away, finally at peace. The scimitar hums lightly and when grasped, the blade is covered in flames.
Dawnflower Kiss: +1 holy flaming scimitar
In a worshipper of Sarenrae’s hand: +2 holy flaming burst scimitar

As far as spell suggestions go Rav I'm not sure teleport and greater are needed. If you are using greater I would take a different 5th level spell. Maybe Wall of Force for CC or Fire Snake? Feeblemind could be a game changer as well..
Ravarel Darkwood |
before going to sleep Rav recharges his staff with a spell. Staff now 1/10 charges :(
And in the morning Rav buffs with his standard buff routine
Mage Armor 1rst
Ablative Barrier 2nd

Siggut Frost |
Upon hearing the good news, Siggut takes out his flash of ale, guzzles a bunch, then takes out his bedroll, and with a comment of "Rest easy comrades. " rolls into the blanket and goes to sleep, armor (comfort) and all.

The ghost's word is true, as you rest for 8 hours without issue and may re-memorize spells. After your rest, you can continue trekking through the prison searching for the imprisoned paladin.
You leave the ghost's cell and enter a corridor to a new section of the prison, with Mal the tracker in front. The corridor here is 15' wide. At the other end of the 30' corridor, there is an immense humanoid creature (15' tall) made of silvery armor, which starts to move toward you aggressively, rather quickly!
Initiative:
Elise: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Mal: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Rav: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Siggut: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Silver creature: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Surprisingly, the creature moves faster than any of you, taking a 5' step forward and then its body in an instant turns into a a liquid form of silver goo, with enough reach to attack Mal, who is in front! Both of the creature's liquid fists pound the inquisitor, breaking bones in the process!
Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 8...hit
Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 20...threat
Confirmation Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 16...confirmed
Damage: 80 damage! 65 damage after temporary hit points are gone.
Party is up!

Mal's arrows rip through the golem's ooze-like body, in violation of the laws of science, causing 131 damage!
Clustered shots is such a broken feat IMO. I am considering banning it after this fight.

AoO on Mal: 1d20 ⇒ 6...hit
Damage: 34
Round 2:
The golem continues attacking the inquisitor.

Rav holds his action... Not much he can do vs the golem and he's content to let sig and Mal pick it apart
Elise Sunwake |
Elise casts Heal on Mal.
Conc: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (13) + 26 = 39 vs 27..
Full Hp..
Elise Sunwake |
Saving the heal spell then..
Last 3 chrages of wand.
Heals Mal: 3d8 + 3 ⇒ (2, 4, 6) + 3 = 15
One channel since others are hurt.
Channel: 10d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 3, 1, 2, 5, 3, 2, 3) = 28
Other heals on Mal..

2d8 + 10 + 10 ⇒ (2, 8) + 10 + 10 = 30
Convert a 2nd and 3rd level spell. He can heal his last few points. Should be at 141.
"Mal.. Try not to get beat up so bad dang.. My resources are not infinite! Shall we move on?"
Ravarel Darkwood |
agreed. Would be a shame to waste all that mithral.
Ravarel Darkwood |
Hey Sig... Help me out here
With Sigs help Rav takes a 50lb chunk and places it in his haversack
Elise I don't suppose you have a scroll of treasure stitching handy do you? I used my last one a long time ago and never replaced it. Would be a great way to transport this thing... If not everyone take a chunk and let's move on
Elise Sunwake |
"I don't no.. And I can't carry a big piece of metal."
Malugor |
"Yeah, need to stay light on my feet and that metal is too heavy. Let's move on." Mal leads the party down to the next intersection or room.
Ravarel Darkwood |
Rav keeps a wary eye out for other golems as Mal leads the way ...He'd love to have a golem of his own one day, but being on the wrong end of a golems attention is not something he enjoyed.
Death-Lok |
The next portal that the party takes to transport you underground as you appear inside a sloping twisting cavern trail lit by braziers. You follow the twisting path down until you reach a straight forward area where in the distance you see a naked woman bound to an "X" cross (Wolverine style - like this - Pic). The cavern roof here is about 100 feet high. No dangers are perceptible.
Malugor |
Mal believes the prisoner to be Sheyla. Can he tell? He casts Freedom of Movement on himself and with bow in hand, looks to the rest of the party as he can dimension hop next to her immediately.
Elise Sunwake |
Elise casts Shield of Faith on herself..
"Be cautious.."
Ravarel Darkwood |
I hope it's her but beware she may not be the same person you knew after all this time here...Could be a trap...but I hope not
Rav looks about warily ready to provide artillery if needed
