Bhoors Thistledown |

Bhoors nods, "There is no woodsman in the vale with a better reputation than Milon we'd be fools to not take his advice."
Bhoors has a bit of a man crush I think. Its like random ranger extra getting to talk to Aragornn.

Farid Heydar |

Farid nods to Auxavier, "For some no. For most yes.
I am sure wherever some people have and others have not it is the same but the precious items at issue differ. For us that precious item was water".

Ruthviren Etiole |

Ruthviren, never what one would call a 'planner', is quiet through the conversation, just giving an occasional nod to show he's listening.
"Glad someone has the brains in the outfit..." he mumbles.

Auxavier Atredies |

@Farid
"I heard such a tale of an island kingdom where the water that everyone could see and reach was poison to drink and the springs that kept the island alive resulted in much death rather than providing life to all."
@Roo / Camlo
"Camlo uses magic, I bet he's smart, I always heard you need alot upstairs to learn magic."
I am imaging the group moving out with Bhoors & Milon up front, then me and Camlo with Roo & Farid towards the back.

DM Giants |

As the group prepares to enter the woods they hear a woman’s voice screaming. ”Hey, wait for me! The young woman has a narrow face, with red hair and sharp hazel eyes. She wears tailored clothing and a sling of vials and potions.

Bhoors Thistledown |

Just to be clear we are heading noth and east of the river and to the Forest Elder and then east to the witch and the Dwarf ruins. Or are we going southwest, cross the ford to the Dwarf ruins. Milon suggested the first choice Bhoors would have lobbied for that one. I just wanted to be clear cause both plans were floated.

Naleksa Vijica |

The woman walks up to the group. Even though Farid is the only one to talk with the women before he forgets who she is but the others recognize her as Laurel's assistant from Root and Remedies. "I am glad I caught you. Miss Laurel thought you might need some help identifying some of the herbs but could not leave her shop, so I told her I would go." looking at the group of confused men she stammers. "Oh...yeah...my name is Naleksa. I will be going with you."
This is the NPC that will help with healing, you can opt not to take her if you want but I think she will help a lot.

Farid Heydar |

Farid shrugs, "Who are we to stop you if that is your wish?
Know that if there is danger we will do our best to aid you but you must be able to defend yourself. Can you do this?"

Bhoors Thistledown |

Bhoors nods at Farid's blunt question, "He is right miss, Naleksa, the wild is not a place for those who are unfamiliar with its dangers.

Farid Heydar |

"I like this one, full of determination and spirit! You would do well in my lands woman".
Farid draws his axe from its sheathe, "Let us go, here the heat of the day is not our foe and we can travel by day".

Bhoors Thistledown |

Bhoors looks at Auxavier with an odd mix of conflicting emotions flashing on his face something like a 50/50 annoyed/proud split.
He turns again to Naleksa. "Looks like your coming with us. I am Bhoors. Your pledged protector," he winks at Auxavier, "is my little cousin Auxavier. The grunter," he points at Ruthviren and smiles, "is Ruthviren. The big ax here is Farid. The pretty charmer there is Camlo." Bhoors grows a little more serious, "Do you have weapon? Not sure we have the coin to barter for a crossbow, but I have a dagger which you can borrow. If needs be."

Camlo Slavik |

Camlo nods and takes a step forward when Bhoors mentions him, ready to make his move.
"Naleksa! It is a pleasure! I am at your feet... Please walk with me, and you can tell me about your work and your life."

Auxavier Atredies |

"The shade of the trees and the breeze from the waters will help us to remain comfortable."
"And perhaps also the company of a woman....Tell me Naleska do you sing or play?"

Naleksa Vijica |

She pulls out a dagger hiding in her tunic. "I have a weapon and know how to use it. So if any of you get any ideas ask nicely first or you might get a poke." She give them a wink and a sly smile.

Farid Heydar |

Farid scratches his head at Naleksa'a statement, "Ideas? I should hope we all have ideas else we will be wandering around these woods aimlessly..."
His eyes seem to light up and he turns a bit red in the face as it is clear what she meant dawns on him, "Hmmm. I see you meant something else entirely... erm I will take point".
Farid trots on ahead wary of danger.

Ruthviren Etiole |

Ruthviren will drift to the back of the party, crossbow in hand, bolt in the other, but not loaded.

Bhoors Thistledown |

Bhoors smiles at Naleksa's jest, "Good I think you will do fine."
Bhoors nods to Farid as he steps up to point and falls in a few paces back.

Bhoors keeps an eye on the sun and the map throughout the day keeping us on a straight north track. "We are hoping for a straight north track Farid. If we err favor an ever so slightly west tack. The river itself is the best marker of where in the woods we are. Too much east and we will be guessing if we passed it."

Auxavier Atredies |

Auxavier does his usual foraging for extra food along the trails knowing that an apple tree is easy to find in the wood as are tangles of berry thickets.....
Survival (foraging) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
"That is indeed our course."

Bhoors Thistledown |

I guess I should also say that if we see food, berries, shrooms, edible roots and or wandering game. Bhoors will gather for better eating.

Farid Heydar |

Bhoors keeps an eye on the sun and the map throughout the day keeping us on a straight north track. "We are hoping for a straight north track Farid. If we err favor an ever so slightly west tack. The river itself is the best marker of where in the woods we are. Too much east and we will be guessing if we passed it."
"Aye, if anything jumps out at me, feel free to come up and whack at it. If you think I am going off course rein me in, I tend to do that..."
Farod will seek to follow the course that Bhoors set axe in hand ready to swing at a moments notice, it has been too long since he has released any... aggression.

The Datkmoon Wood
The ancient forest canopy sours above hiding the sky from view making the path ahead dark. A chill hangs in the air held in by trees large branches. You feel like you're intruders into someone's home.

Auxavier Atredies |

"Do what helps you to stay safe."
Aux maintains the distances and staggering he had learned for patrolling in groups...
"Let's not bunch up like we are scared of the wood."

DM Giants |

The Darkmoon Wood - Near the Lake
As the group travels northward the rain stops and the wind calms. The sound of rushing water drifts on the wind. You catch glances of a lake thru the trees to the north.

"Well we made it more or less. Just about where we wanted to I suspect. I think that is the lake up ahead."

"Ack what the . . . spiderweb." Bhoors waves his hands around a second trying to free himself of wisps of webing.

Farid Heydar |

Farid pauses and motions to Bhoors, "I hear something a wounded animal perhaps, shall we investigate? Some predators draw fools in with such a ploy and I do not wish to be alone if such a fact holds true".

Bhoors Thistledown |

Bhoors nods and nocks and arrow. "Eyes peeled and I got you covered."

Bhoors Thistledown |

Bhoors follows Farid about 15 feet back watching for any movement beyond the animal. He occasionally with Auxavier nodding toward one direction or another, a sort of look that way while I look this way short hand the two commonly use.

Camlo Slavik |

Camlo cast message on the people going to investigate.
"I can hear you if you mumble, this way we can be in touch without making much noise. You can't talk between yourselves, but I can relay your messages."
Even if Camlo is mumbling, they all can hear him clearly, as if he was talking to their ears.
Finally he gets his short spear out.

Bhoors Thistledown |

Bhoors tries not to be unnerved by the spell, "Keep somewhat close. Don't hang to far back."
