Hmmm I did not realize the armor would appear different. Every picture I have ever seen of the Adeptus Arbites shows them ALL looking basically like Judge Dredd, I have not seen different uniforms and such. Well, in that case you can tell the guy with the Bolt Pistol is an Arbiter, of high rank, and the other two are Enforcers. And apparently I just discovered they are called Arbitrators, not Arbiters. So, the main guy appears to be a Senior Arbitrator.
PhilOfCalth |
They're Arbites as an organisation, to the best of my memory. Arbitrators wear that heavy carapace armour and all look like judge dread. Enforcers wear lighter armour, and look like riot police in all the pictures.
Senior Arbitrators often wear those silly ostentatious helmets and cloaks. They are very easy to spot.
PhilOfCalth |
I think I see the mix-up!
There are enforcers that are basically local police and then there are enforcers that are arbitrators employed by the inquisition to help hunt down fugitives. Within the Adeptus Arbites they all generally look like judge dread, to the extent that high ranked arbitrators are referred to as judges. Basically everyone in the Adeptus Arbites is an arbitrator (ignoring clerks, etc).
Everyone within the Adeptus Arbites would know what a sanctioned pyker is. They may never have seen one before though.
PhilOfCalth |
I'm not going to tell the arbitrators the whys of the psyker activity without Thrace re-appearing. It's rude and I don't want her slashing at me!
I think we should bring the surviving ganger to the Arbites precinct house and question him there. The arbites themselves might be able to tell us a thing or two and they will have the power to incarcerate this man to keep the fact we're inquisition a secret. Also I want to try to scrounge some weapons/ammo/equipment out of them... Perhaps even improved medical treatment.
Working on my XP now...

@Fusebox - If you can't think of, or don't want to find a reason to have that Arbitrator ID (perhaps it's a very good forgery) don't throw it out. I'll take it, as a worst case.
Dear Emperor, please don't let them kill us....
... This year I've been very good. I helped the old inquisitor take out the trash and punched 5 mutants...

What timezone is everyone in? I am toying around with the idea of trying to do a Roll20.net thing, or possibly do something "realtime" over an Instant Messenger, to speed things up here and there, plus give us all some actual "face to face" roleplaying. Would anyone else be down for that, and if so, does anyone have any experience with Roll20 to help us get it going?
Note, this is not a definite, and if anyone is opposed to the idea I am certainly not pushing it, I just wanted to ask and see what you thought.
GM_Shadoven |
Rather than turn this into a shopping spree, if you dont mind, provide a list of items as a group that you would be interested in, and I will decide what is available. Obviously im not going to give you high powered weaponry and such this early on, so no asking for a Heavy Bolter! However, within reason, you will be able to get some supplies. There will not be many oppurtunities past this to ressupply, so pick wisely. And everyone roll me 1d10, then add that together. That is how many Thrones in total you find amongst the dead and captures.

Thrace's Emperor's Day List:
Any upgrade for my pistol (Ideally a red dot laser sight and/or silencer)
A mono sword
Any kind of cloak or jacket (ideally mesh or at least something to cover legs/arms)
Maybe micro-beads for the whole team to facilitate discrete communications?
And a pony. Oh wait, wrong holiday list...
Obviously not all this stuff, but there is the general list of what I would like. Also I would love at some point to be able to upgrade my eyes for some of the fancy functions available to cybernetic parts.
Thrones: 1d10 ⇒ 4
And on the subject of Roll20, I am in Pacific time, and my work schedule is rather hectic over summers, so while open to it, I am hesitant to confirm yes at this point.
PhilOfCalth |
I'll make a generic answer to to Arbitrator and we can come up with our own little lists. Also it would be a good idea if one or 2 of us go with the cherub and tell Aristarchus where we are. I'd suggest at least 1 of our fighters goes, whoever has the best awareness.
My reasonable list:
Better armour - Heavy gang leathers, mesh cowl, etc
Medi-kit.
Micro-beads for everyone - Good call Thrace.
Obviously this is not Everything I ever wanted. It took restraint not to spam you with that list :P
On the topic of Roll D20. I'm in GMT. I don't mind playing some on there if we can all find a common time but PbP really suits my scheduled. I think a skype meetup would work well for discussing something like what what equipment to ask for.

Can we use upgrades from other books? If so, I'd like to get my shotgun sawn off, and quick release applied to it. Also bolas, bolas are awesome and I want some, and finally if it's not too much to ask, a couple blind grenades.
Also, I'm in eastern, but on any given night there's a 50% chance I'm working till some f%$+ off hour, which means Phil'll be fast asleep by the time I get home.
Fusebox |
Inquisitor's handbook is an almost must have, and only war/Hammer of the Emperor are to die for if you ask me.
As for the properties of those upgrades, quick release reduces reload time by a half action to a minimum of a half action, and sawn off reduces weapon range and weight by one quarter and adds +2 damage when at close or shorter range.

Oh wow... if we live long enough, I want a force sword. It's everything I have wanted in a weapon: (1d10+1, Pen 1, balanced, very rare, 3500gp)
"Force Weapons
Class: Melee (Primitive)
Made from the rarest materials and interlaced with psychic
reactive and channelling circuitry of a design said to have originated with the Emperor himself when he walked among mortal men, force weapons are capable of channelling the mental power and aggression of a psyker into deadly, reality- rending force. It is theoretically possible to create force weapons in almost any form, and several unique and potent variants, such as the Nemesis weapons of the Grey Knights and the legendarily destructive Daemonhammers, exist. The three commonest types of force weapons are given here, the force sword, force axe and force staff.
Unless wielded by a psyker, force weapons simply count as a Good Craftsmanship Mono variant of their standard Primitive weapon type (see pages 128 and 142 of Dark Heresy). However, in the hands of a wielder with a Psy Rating, they are much more. For every point of Psy Rating the wielder has, the weapon’s Damage and Penetration increases by +1. For example, a force sword wielded by a character with Psy Rating 3 would inflict 1d10+3 R (plus SB) and have a Penetration of 5."

Litany micro-beads for everyone ? (from Daemon Hunter)
The corrupting songs of cults and the whispers of daemons are a constant threat to those carrying out the work of the Ordo Malleus. Many Inquisitors travel with a choir of Ministorum priests singing the litanies of the God-Emperor. Those desiring a more subtle approach while still gaining some protection from the aural assaults of heretics and blasphemous sorcerers often make use of a litany micro-bead. A blessed vox-caster within range (1 mile) broadcasts a constant stream of blessings, prayers and inspirational hymns. These signals cut out when the micro-beads are used to transmit, but while not transmitting, the wearers of these beads are considered deafened (see page 201 of the DARK HERESY rulebook).
There are three liturgical channels which may be chosen for a litany micro-bead; changing the channels requires a half action to perform the proper rites :
• The Catechism of Devotion and Sanctity grants the user the benefit of the Chem Geld Talent while listening.
• The Prayers of St Drusus grants the user the benefit of the Jaded Talent while listening.
• The Petitions of Redemption grant the user a +10 bonus to Willpower Tests made to resist mind control

Advances taken :
100 Heightened Senses (Sight)
100 Sound Constitution
100 Weapon Skill (basic) +5
As for equipment, Zoros needs some light armour, xeno mesh vest or cloak would be nice.
I agree that microbeads would be helpful :)
PhilOfCalth |
Equipment taken -
Medi-kit
Flak Jacket - (I'm sure you're not allowing guard flak armour)
1 autogun clip
1 set of manacles
I suggest our fighters take the glow-globes/lamps. Thrace takes the Hot-Shot Charge Pack, being in possession of the only las-weapon in the group. Likewise Logan should get the inferno shell for his shotgun. That leaves dumdum bullets and man-stopper bullets between Zoros and Cosrach.
The grapple should probably go to the guy with the best chance of climbing it Logan.
What does everyone think? Sound fair?

Jeez how'd I miss that :)
Flak jacket
manacles
1 clip autocannon
1 clip manstopper for rifle
glow globe
microbead
I'll take you up on that healing Phil
PhilOfCalth |
You've got a hand cannon, not an Autocannon :P
medicate 33 + 20 medikit + 20 Arbites help: 73: 1d100 ⇒ 68
That should give you 3 HP back. You'll need to go to Thrace or spend a FP to get more. Or wait 24hrs in game time...
Perhaps Shadoven will allow you to spend a FP from before you got them all back.
PhilOfCalth |
@Cosrach - Didn't you take a significant amount of damage during the anti-grav incident? Do you want Thrace and myself to look at you? If you are heavily wounded Medicate can only get you 1 back, so perhaps Thrace can help you get back into lightly damaged range (TB x 2) and then Bulldog can look at you seporate.
PhilOfCalth |
Thrace shifts nervously.
"Um... I don't know if it is proper to attempt to use my abilities in the Seer's home. And I'm sure Seer Aristarchus's control is far superior than my own..."
A fantastic point Thrace. Perhaps Aristarchus can give you some pointers/gear to help you control your abilities...
