"Well Ry it is a pleasure to make your aquaintence tis sure. You sure seem to know your way around animals, and I do say that Smoke seems to be taken by you."
Then in hushed tones,"You seem to keep an odd bunch of friends."
"I was raised on a horse ranch and have spent all my life around these beautiful creatures. They bring me such joy and peace." Ry gives Gan a warm smile and places a kiss on Smoke's face.
Ry looks about at Alaric and thinks about the rest of her party now split and moving separately.
"We are an eclectic bunch to be sure. Companions brought together recently. But we try and make it work. Upon better acquaintance we may all improve on you." Ry chuckles and looks directly at the man with her shining sapphire eyes, gauging him.

"I, touched in the head? I find it quite curious that you tell me to trust you and then say that you have contemplated murdering me in my sleep," Hermia replies.
Then sighs. "I will consider your points, Master."
She takes the offered flask and takes a drink to wet her lips.
Hermia is guilty to be relieved when they find Gideon in his state, and while Brett is busy with the trap, she kneels beside him and touches his shoulder.
"Pray, forgive our prolonged absence, Master Gideon" she says, and smiles to soothe him. "This would be the second time I came to your aid, would it not?" she continues.
Hermia lets down her pendulum and gives it a slight push to start it in motion and begins speaking the words to her final spell of the day in Draconic, recalling that Brett had been quite vocal about his distaste for Sylvan, and not wishing to restore hostilities between them.
Cure Light Wounds for Gideon 1d8 + 2
"I hope you are not too disappointed that it are only me attending you this once, as well," she says in jest to ease the tension between herself and Master Brett. "I am, however, certain that the Lady Ariarh would be quite relieved when you return with us, whole and hale."
"I did say touched in the head... one moment you be "shrieking" or "screaming" or "yelling" or... well, as I said about the butter in yer mouth... makes on sense! And there be another thing... ye be so wrapped on yer own ideas ye don't listen. I never said I be 'contemplating murdering ye. I said if I HAD done that, I would have done it without so much bloody talk. But as I DIDN'T do it, then ye got none to fear on... fer if I WANTED to do it, I would have DONE do it... and without all this here hash... but as I HAVEN'T done it, it be likely I DON'T want to do it... so ye got nothing on fearing that I might WANT to do it, eh?"he adds shaking his head. "See, clear as rain on a fine morning,"he adds.
"Now ye can do what ye want... Trust to ol' Brett... if ye be troubled in the mind, I'll look after ye... and if not, and this be all fun play and so forth... the shrieks and screams... hmm... I might warm up to ye yet,"he adds smacking her rump playfully.
The drink, by the way, tastes like some sort of coconunt and vanilla mix... very sweet, warms you to the toes, and very potent besides.
You help aid Gideon and you gather him up taking him back to the horse.
"|That be a fine tongue to speak... why art thou speaking it, as it be the tongues of the Ancient ones, not the tongues of thy gods?|"Brett asks cheerfully, speaking Draconic as well even as you lead Gideon back to the horses.

Everyone Please READ THIS! Thank you!
At this time you have now explored a chunk of Hex A. You have also moved on beyond the valley and are heading still farther north. By your guess, you have 8 more hours of exploration of this Hex. Then, on to new territory.
I will be out with my family until around 9 PM eastern central... which means I don't know if I shall have time to post for a bit... as such, please take time to formally introduce yourself to Gan... a formal phsycial description might be nice, and an introduction to the group. Gan, feel free to share what knowledge I gave you, or not.
Everyone please be specific, though!
You have made your camp under a rocky overhang in the forest, and are still finishing Hex A. The nigth is chill and cold, but luckily, no rain.
You can break camp at 7 AM on the 16th, and we'll go from there. But between now and then, toss up those social RP posts, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

"I be fond of lots of stuff to use me hands on, miss,"Brett replies amicably. "Worked as a carney in me younger years... be good at aiming and games of chance and such with ring toss, trick shooting, darts, that sort of thing... but here, why don't we just all be speaking the common tongue. Be a fair thing to do in front of them who can't speak on all the tongues, eh?"he says with a smile, handing her another taste of the drink.

Ariarh watches as Brett and Hermia return supporting Gideon between them. Relief is etched across her face at their return and especially seeing Gideon is alright.
Ariarh begins to walk over to Hermia but directs the first part of her dialogue to all three, "It's good to see you all returned."
Then to Hermia,
"Milady, pray, do you have any spells left in which to help with this horse I have been tending? I tried my best to heal him but could use your aid in further healing. I would not see him suffer or relapse and die."
Hermia Robin
Hermia laughs and takes another drink. "I think we have finally touched upon one point on which we can agree, Master Brett, courtesy," she says.
...
In the evening, after she has gone off a while in the woods to pray, Hermia will look to Master Brett before striding up to and formally introducing herself to their new companion, Gan.
Hermia is not a tall girl, she has a darker complexion, and ashen blonde hair with multiple strands of almost metallic highlights that glint in the firelight. Her eyes are a radiant green. She is somewhat chubby, but her rounded limbs are not wholly unattractive. She wears ill fitting, but warm looking clothes, and seems to be quite conscious of the fact that they are ill fitting. Still, she greets Gan with a smile.
"Greetings, fellow neophyte," she says. "I am Hermia Robin. Master Brett there," she gestures to the halfling with a nod, "tells me that I am touched in the head." she leans foreword and whispers in Gan's ear.
"I dare say he fancies me, though."
She leans back and winks at Gan. "May I sit?"

"Milady, pray, do you have any spells left in which to help with this horse I have been tending? I tried my best to heal him but could use your aid in further healing. I would not see him suffer or relapse and die."
"Regretfully, no, Ariarh," she answers. Ariarh notices that much of Hermia's initial cheer has been restored on her walk with Brett, seemingly purged of any unpleasantness. "I used my last spell to heal Master Gideon. I do, however, maintain some of my abilities," she grins and lifts her pendulum and gives it a push.
"Great Mother, lend me your power..." she begins praying.
The pendulum begins making a circular pattern, almost like a star. Gan notices that the pressure in the air, once clear and static, increases, as though a storm were on the horizon, and it disperses in a electrically charged flash of healing light that leaves the female caster in the full flush of youth and beauty.

"If there are any more need for healing, pray, forgive me, but I would prefer that I dispense with it in the evening, should we meet with any other unhappy accidents along our path."
Hermia will dispense with more channeling to heal Gideon and Gan's horse in the evening, as she said, before she meditates to regain those abilities, and her spells for the next day.

During Ry's conversation with Gan, after she has provided some healing to his horse, the newcomer sees a tall, slender, beautiful young woman, with pale skin, platinum blonde hair and striking sapphire blue eyes. She wears a practical and warm exploring outfit, has wooden armor and a thick travelling cloak. Her hair is long and tied in a single braid down her back. Her personal companion is a creature no bigger than a kitten -- a hatchling griffon, who understands Common but cannot speak.
Gideon Samus Shaw
A tall muscular Hals Orc with red tinged skin walks up to Gan. He is wearing a simple robe designed to allow freedom of movement with leather breeches under. he always is within arms reach of a quarterstaff.
"I am Gideon Samus Shaw. Its a pleasure to meet you. " Gideon holds a hand forward palm horizontal. (aka handshake)
Smendor
Smendor comes walking up with both his runaway horses and what seems to be what is left of a skeleton bundled on one of the horses. He really does not look at the other as he approaches due to the fact he focusing his attention on the ground as he slaps at anything he think could hide one of the monstrosities with a quarterstaff sized shaft of wood. "These stupid things are all over the place if you were not dead I think I would give you a solid kick to the face friend. looking back at the stack of bones.
After getting within 30-40 feet of the others Smendor finally looks up seeing that all the grass in the area has been firmly compressed, so there is no chance something is hiding. “Well who the hell are you” looking up at Dan? Smendor does not give Dan time to reply,” Bla do not bother, this here is the man that done put all the traps in the valley. In the end he ended up falling into one of his own traps and removing his head. I do not like the man, and due to the fact he is dead, that is wrong, but we need to put him to rest the right way nonetheless. Here is a map of where he put his traps, and he had a few coins and some mundane items on him. O and there is a bottle of some such. Smendor takes the glass vial with a colored liquid out of his pack. Is this worth keeping? Smendor hands the vial to Gideon.
Well assuming that liquid is not worth a great deal I will ask the party that I get to keep the full total of what was found on the dead man to pay for the loss of the animal. He had about 45gp in coin and these rusty weapons. I will see if those will hold an edge when I have the time to look them over.
There seems to be a total of about 20 of those blasted contraptions in the valley, and they do have a good value. I think about 75gp each. We need to make sure we note where they are and come back and take them back to the Post. I will not want someone even my enemy living his last days setting in a trap until he is dead so I think we need to remove them.
You can see Smendor is in a bad mood and for a full description just click on the name.
As Smendor walks back to his animals to get them all ready to travel he looks back over his should at Dan, “ I am Smendor by the way this day has really not been the best. We will have a nice chat when I am no longer in such a sick mood.

Hermia considers Smendor's words carefully before departing from Gan's horse and investigating the corpse.
No simple trap at all, then... How did he die with a map of his traps on his person? She kneels beside the skeleton and examines its trappings. Since there is no flesh left I am going to go off Dain's previous description since he is away at the moment, she cannot take an accurate survey of the condition it were in before he died.
This man has already returned to the Great Mother Hermia muses, but, given Master Smendor's mood...
"Master Smendor, I will assist you in the burial if you will tell me how you found this man while we work." she offers.
Edit: Essentially, just a request for more information about the find. If Smendor would answer, I'll just refer to what Dain gave you and we'll call it at that.

He does not ride the same horse on consecutive days and it really seems like his a attempting to train them to respond better to their surroundings. He has also given them names. The one that he has been riding the most seems to be called Bagger and the other two are called Lefty and Righty. You can simply look at their respective legs to see an odd diamond shape that match their names.

Assuming that Gideon's roll was not sufficient Alaric will attempt to identify the vial. Detect magic + Spellcraft1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
May I see that for a moment Gideon? The noble looking man says. He is wearing fine traveling clothes of brown and green and carries himself well. He is riding a large black stallion with a blaze of white on its brow. He has long dark hair that he wears in a loose ponytail gathered at the base of his neck. You do not see any obvious weapons on him.
Hermia Robin
Hermia will approach Alaric sometime in the night when he appears to be alone, not shying away at the prospect of joining him in his tent if need be.
"I would like to apologize for any unpleasantness I created earlier. Between you and I, and... the group. Master Brett and I have reached something of an understanding of each other that I gather was required for our... arrangement to succeed.
"I am more than passing fond of puzzles, and... having been literally torn from my contented illusion of enlightened isolation, have gone through a rather difficult period of adjustment. When you depend upon trappers and others for your living and your maintenance, it is quite easy to..." she shakes her head.
"Master Brett has the most curious perspective about our relations,"[b] she continues after taking a deep breath. [b]"He seems to believe that I mock you. If you also believe that this is the case, I do apologize. I did not think it prudent to create more conflict within the group than already exists, and seek to direct you to improve yourself with a bit of playful teasing. To be completely honest I find I have rather missed the ready availability of a talented conversational partner."
"But!" she says with some sense of finality. "One point of particular interest that Master Brett addressed was that I demonstrated a lack of trust in you. I had not actually thought of it, but upon reflection this evening, I recognized the truth in his words. It were not wholly intentional, as I stated earlier I have been quite distracted as of late, and besides, uncertain how much certain members of the group are eager to learn, much able to process given their own hardships. However, if we are to return to that wood together, and with the Lady Ariarh, there is something you should be aware of." Hermia pauses and looks about nervously, apparently seeking someone. "It is intensely private, and shouldn't like others to misinterpret my intentions." she prompts.

As for not trusting me, that I can understand as well. We have only known each other for a few scant days and as such I can understand a little mistrust. The only thing I can say for that is in this environment we must learn to trust and rely upon each other quickly otherwise our mission is even more difficult.
You can trust me with your intentions for going back to the fey. We are kin in this regard and I would not want to do anything to harm them. That being said, neither will I do anything that allows our group to come to harm.
Hermia Robin
Hermia purses her lips, a bit put off that Alaric did not pick up on her intent. "Er, forgive me, Alaric, but there is something that I must show you."
if not already inside the tent, she will draw you insideHermia begins to remove her armor, then flushes and hazards a strange glance at Alaric. "The Lady Ariarh and Master Brett have already spoken in such glowing terms of your intended. Please, do not believe me too foreword in this approach, but as Brett believes me touched in the head for my preferences... I just wished to avoid any future confusion."
Hermia shrugs out of her armor, then turns and lifts her shirt up over her back, quickly and effectively tucking the excess material over any sensitive areas he might see with her back turned to him. Of greater interest than the expanse of her bare flesh, however, is when she pulls her hair back from it, he can see an intricate pattern of wild flowers and loose petals that appear to shimmer in a delicate breeze of vivid color across the upper portion of her back. As she breathes - heavily, he notices - the color and pattern seems to shift, as though the pattern were alive under her skin.
"Towards the end, when my Auntie Luda could no longer recall even my name, she repeated the story of how she found me while harvesting herbs in the wood. She said there were a blonde child-like creature darting from tree to tree, following her to our home. I see him in my dreams sometimes," she admits and then pulls the shirt back over her head. Hermia turns to Alaric, her wild tawny waves spilling over her chest.
"That misted wood, it felt like home, Alaric! Please, don't let Master Brett try to use the little lords and ladies there bear witness to, much less participate in our violence."
Blushing, Hermia begins to don her armor once again. "I thought to tell the lady Ariarh, but... she seems so sad about losing her home, and I think I frightened her when I got upset about Master Brett pointing his pistol at me. If you think it appropriate that she know, I will allow you to make that choice."

The time is now about 1:00 PM as you finaly move your horses out over the woods to stare at the wine open fens and flats that border the tip of Southern Brevoy. About 25 miles to your east is Oleg's; but to your west is uncharted territory... ripe for exploration.
Brett sits up tall in his sadle, eassing his kinks and the tension in his lower back. The last bit of the ride was up a largeish hill, and was somewhat tiring of a journal. But now, on the heights, he regards you all.
"Well, we done what we said we do... fer now. We finished that bitty of exploring... and not too long to do it... Being that it's only the 16th... This place be wide and flat... there be a few things we may do, as I see it..."he says, holding up his fingers as if to count off on it.
"First; we head back Oleg's and see what's what... Look atbout and get the straight word from him. Second, we sit here and send our lad Puck and the doughty Griffon east... drop of the map details and just wait fer action... It be midday, and like as not Puck and Dior be back nearing nighfall... Last idea is we make tracks fer something new; head west or south west or what have ye... as we get there we set up camp at nightfall... There be a waning moon tonight, but the skies look okay. Enough fer Dior and the little guy to make it back to Oleg's after we set up camp, as he don't be needs doing nothing but heading straight east. Fer us, if we stay ont he open flats, if we keep a campfire going at night, and a bitty of a bright one, then the two of them be finding US if they fly back, after night fall, and we log some hours on the next piece of tracking... But I ain't none's master... What do ye all say to any of these fine plans? Any thoughts or words to say?"he asks looking around.
"Only hardship I see with heading west now be that we won't get the straight word personal from Oleg... if we don't be talking to him... Also, if we keep a fire big enough fer the lads to see on the way back... well, they ain't the only lads with eyes on the fens, eh?" he says the last, looking around at you all.
"But it aint' be my expedition, I just be riding with ye all. What be YER vote...?"he says looking about.
Turning to Gan, he speaks...
"We be doing exploring, see? We got's a writ from Brevoy; what we maps we keeps, and we be looking to map lands to start something fine to build. Ye ain't got such a writ or charter... but that don't mean ye can't swear to be abiding by our laws... If ye want, lad, I write ye a copy and send it back to Oleg's later to get his "stamp" on it... then ye be as legal as we... Or ye could just be tagging along as ye like, nay matter either..."Brett adds cheerfully.
The slim samurai bows low at the waste after Brett's words.
"Arigato, Brett-san. I am honored to be of assistance in this matter. Though as for co-signing my oath of bond to such a document, I shall first need give it thought... Yet, it is written;
Gossamer thoughts fade...
To vanish when left unsaid
Open thy heart; then...
[b]"So it is so... I shall come to a decision soon on whether to commit myself formally to your cause, or not... yet for now, I shall treat you all with honor due to your rank and title,"he adds the last with a low bow at the waste.
Those with any knowledge of court manners deduce that for some reason, his bow is not like a courtier... but foriegn; bowing flat at the waste, rathern then with extended knee, hand across breast, and the other hand out behind him... Further, you notice it is odd that his bow to Brett in particular is somewhat lower then his bow to the others.

Hmm... kind of fast-fowrwarded a bit... as you finished with that area and moved on to break camp and so forth. You can always add social RP as needed, but I just got on and decided that as there really isn't anything left to do in this hex, per se, I would fast forward it to:

"I have been puzzling since we left about the information that you gave about this second group of explorers, and should like to, if any would please accompany me, ride to this Oleg's and investigate, to confirm or negate my suspicions.
Hermia inhales and exhales slowly, centering herself. Her pendulum's weight hangs still in her minds eye. "From your second hand description, it sounds as though this other group Oleg hosted were bandits. I have a thought that, in the interest of forestalling your reprisal, this Stag Lord has sent this group of outriders to challenge your claims. I would like to conduct an interview of Drake, and perhaps the girl Dasha to learn more. As well as introduce myself to the trader and offer my services, of course."

Did everyone read the plan... and offer a vote on options?
Let me know what your vote will be. I will look on in a bit... majority rules on what we do next.
1. Head back to Oleg's now that hex A is finished for straigth word.
2. Wait here in the plains and send Dior/Puck back... It is 1:00 PM, at this time they should be back no later then Midnight... a good campfire can show them the way... and probably be back sooner.
3. Keep exploring in some direction... make camp at nightfall and send Puck/Dior out to Oleg's. If they rest, and the weather holds, they should be back in the morning to find us on the plains... provided we STAY on the plains... And we can help them with a fire... It will show them where we are... but it will also show others too...
There may be other ideas I have missed... Brett can only come up with a few now, but it's your call. Let me know what you want to do...
Please let me know your next plan or request... I choose majority votes on or around 11:00 PM Eastern Standard, or sooner, depending on how fast I get them...

"I too believe we should make our way back to Oleg's at this point. With their recent troubles with the other party of explorers, it would be wise to check in for a day or two. Plus, it would be good to have a chance to speak with Dasha. I believe there is information there that we could use before we venture out, again."
"Indeed, Mistress Ry. If you recall our previous conversation, I would prefer to arrive at Oleg's within a few hours of the group so as to not so easily be taken by certain parties within for traveling with you. It is my suspicion," she continues, addressing the group, "though it may be unfounded that Drake and Dasha have a vested interest in deliberately misinforming your party, and I should very much like to avoid that in my interviews of them. Should they be granted." Hermia adds and blushes.
"If you believe it safe to proceed on foot, I should like it if one of you would ride ahead with Kressle's horse. As a spoil of the fruits of your labor, and her banditry, it may be marked by Oleg or Drake as hers, and alarm them to my intent."

"I do recall the conversation and I have no issue with you arriving before us. I would like to make a suggestion, however. If you are walking ahead of us and the majority of us are following at a more discreet distance on horseback, then perhaps my griffon and your brownie can fly the sky above you. They could be your immediate protectors if danger becomes present. I'd feel better knowing they were close enough to aid you until we could get to you. What say you, Lady Hermia?"
"Hmm... And, in regard to one of us riding in with Kressle's horse before your arrival on foot, perhaps Smendor may do the honors, if he is open to it ... Between the rest of us I'm sure we could handle his horses. Smendor, are you amiable to this idea?

Thanks!
The last time I read of a ring it was a heavy silver ring with some markings that we picked up with the three jewels. I don't think there was a direct mention of it being Svetlana's ring.

Okay....
Due to previous actions and decisions I cannot stress at what a parcitular crossroad you are all at. Nearly any path that you choose, AT ALL will have specific game molding cirmcustances on a much larger scale. Wheverer you go, and whatever you do... if you chose one way, then all other options will locked, and that way it will be!
As such, I need a decison. I have three people for one direction, and three other people who have not made a vote. I need a majority decison here, because I have no desire to retcon or make such a decision on a whim. So when either Alaric, Gideon, or Gan, decide to make their vote, then the rest of us can play. The only caveat is (for example) that Alaric asks to go on, and that Gideon and Gan agree with him. Please vote soon! Thank you...

Grr...
With no other votes by any other players, we are technically stymied. I don't with to go on without the input of the other players, nor do I wish to do nothing for the rest of the evening simply because they are not posting. As such...
Brett makes a suggestions...
"Well, gang, we be in a bit of a state. Much of ye want to be heading back to Oleg's, the other of ye can't decide on what time o' day noon be. I hate waiting about... Who wants to go hunting with me?he asks.

As it is now 1:00 PM, Brett decides that there is enough daylight to move farther south back to the trees that you had just exited. His plan, as he says it, is to begin to scout out the area looking for tracks. He is hoping to find something interesting… but we shall see.
Brett will lead the way, but instructs you all to leave your horses with the others. They will likely scare game away. As the others are deep in thought, he decides that they have plenty of time to go on foot. As such, he leads the group into the woods…
As he is leading the way, he will make the first Survival roll to track anything of note. After which, you can move to Aid him with Survival. I presume, for now, that Puck and Dior are following as well. If not, let me know…
Survival Roll to find tracks…
