Arabeth |
Arabeth just smiles and continues to moves away from Alric and his new beau...Though she does take note of where Alric is being led to.
Perception:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Is it a store? A home? A business? An obvious alley way with na'er do wells awaiting poor Alric to Shanghai him? (^_~)
Cerinnibert |
Cerin watches them go, wondering if the poor lad has bitten off more than he can chew...
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Arabeth |
Arabeth nods, though she does not move off so fast as to lose which building Alric is lead into...
"There's just a small place I have to pop in and visit on Gull Street..." She replies to Sir Radbar..though it is obvious her attention is still a little preoccupied with Alric's potential fate. (^_~)
Arabeth |
Arabeth smiles and replies to Blythe, "Well...I can ask the people I have to see over near gull Street about a Tobacconist." She steps closer to the woman,
"Perhaps we should wait in the vicinity...in-case all is not as it seems with Alric?" She glances in the direction the lass and Alric are heading. "Back home in Riddleport, a fair maid might some times be the hallmark of an extended sea voyage..." Arabeth points out.
Blythe Astor |
"I'm sure he'd love to be saved by a group of girls if this tiny lass throws him around." Blythe says dryly, a smirk in the corner of her mouth. "In the bed or not." She laughs. "He'll be fine. He handled goblins. What's a farmer's daughter going to do?"
Arabeth |
Arabeth nods at Blythe's comment, though now she begins to keep an eye out for the Farmer's daughters Father.
"Oh...I don't know. Farmers can carry all sorts of nasty implements. Scythe for cutting off things comes to mind..." Arabeth replies.
Arabeth drifts towards the general store and absently looks in the windows to judge the wares for sale. (^_^)
Alric Morgaine |
Alric, still slightly suspicious, but less so than before, since his friends all seemed to think this was just an opportunity for a harmless dalliance, follows/escorts the young lady to the house behind the store.
Why are you so suspicious, eh? You've had such encounters before, especially after a performance at the Theatre. Young ladies like to throw themselves at actors... and apparently heroes... let it go and have a little fun! You can rejoin your new friends later.
"I'm Alric, by the way. What's your name? He tries to make light conversation with her along the way.
DaWay |
As she drags you to the house and into the basement. She utters Hmmm, and why would you want to know my name. Is it something to whisper in your dreams, if so I am Shayliss. She then goes on to say, Oh right, so the rat I saw. It was huge. My father has been to busy to keep up with pest problems due to my older sister Katrina. It's over there, behind one of the barrels. She points frantically to a barrel that is set up next to a cot.
The touring group, while Alric is over dealing with the rat problem you see the good father talking to the sherriff. btw, it is just a general goods store. Nothing particularily expensive just what good town folk would need to get by.
Alric Morgaine |
Alric looks from Shayliss to the barrel, sighs, and smiles slightly, a little disappointed that the rat problem wasn't just a scam to get him alone, or if it was, that she's still keeping it up.
"Alright, Shayliss, you stand back where it's safe. I'll check out your rat problem... What's the problem with your sister Katrina?" Even as he speaks he moves forward cautiously, with his scimitar drawn, in case there really is a big rat back there.
Arabeth |
When the DM says
You see the good father talking to the sheriff.
Do they mean 'The good Father' as in the local priest? Or...do they mean 'The good father' as in a certain person's parent?
Arabeth takes notes of what she can see on offer through the window, but the Sheriff's presence is more important at the moment and she brings his proximity to her companions attention before moving to go and talk to the gentlemen.
Cerinnibert |
Cerin strides up to the sheriff and Father Zantus and smiles broadly.
"Good morn to you both! I hope you are doing well after last night's unpleasantness? We were curious as to whether there has been any other problems, and if there has come to light any information as to a purpose to the attack other than random destruction?"
Arabeth |
Arabeth gives a small and polite bow as the group comes up to the good Father and the Sheriff.
She remains neutral and pleasant, even as Aimea voices her thoughts. Arabeth awaits the good Father's reply and coolly eyes the Sheriff as the group passes the time of day together.
Arabeth |
As she catches Aimea's eye, Arabeth (Will Save:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8) does break out in a grin, though she tilts her head upwards,
"Aye, a glorious day has found us..." She quickly tries to gather her thoughts looking back to the good father and Sheriff.
"Indeed, as Master Cerinnibert has inquired, how fares the town after yesterday's Goblin problem." Arabeth does her best to not keep grinning. She notices something and begins to fastidiously adjust her cape, absently cleaning small bits of fluff from the feathers. Her dark hair falling across her features for a moment as she does so.
Ooo, you are wicked!
DaWay |
Arabeth sees a man with a set of keys head towards the shop.
Alric is in the middle of the throes of passion, his naked body entwined with that of Shayliss, surely this is a Calistrian Priestess in the making, when...
They grow quiet when addressed the Sheriff and Father Zantus. Thank you for your efforts in the goblin raid. Everyone seems to be doing fine and there was no loss of life due largely to your efforts. The only thing missing besides a couple of fire works seems that one of the graves had been dug up.
Cerinnibert |
Cerin looks thoughtful. "From what I know of Goblins, it is highly unlikely that they did it. Whose grave was it, and do you have any other suspects?"
Arabeth |
Arabeth also looks thoughtful...as well as looks away from the good father and the Sheriff as much as possible...
Seeing the gentleman about to open his shop Arabeth smiles, quickly bids her good morn to every one and walks over to said shop keep.
'
"Morning." She says brightly. Standing a respectful distance back so as not to crowd his actions. "Might I inquire as to your general stock?" She asks politely while awaiting the door to be opened and herself allowed into the establishment.
DaWay |
The cemetary is up on thistletop, you are informed that the remains of one, Ezakien Tobyn, were stolen but for what ends and by whom none shall remain.
Arabeth the shopkeeper lets you in and you see a stock of common, usable goods. Then he stops and sees that the back door has been left open and syells Shayliss!
Alric she stops you mid coitus, and says Oh crap, daddy's back, you need to leave quickly.
Arabeth |
Arabeth winces as the shop-keep yells almost in her ear. She wanders about the place, doing her best to both remain in the Shop-keeps sight as well as distract him from whatever it might be which has caused his yell.
Bluff:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
She lifts up an item of adventuring kit,
"Excuse me, Sir. How much are you asking for this?" Arabeth asks, holding said item out for the shop-keeps undivided attention.
Fear not Alric, I've got your back. (^_^)
Cerinnibert |
"Ezakien Tobyn... was that someone noteworthy? I would like to find out more about this graverobbing. I do not hold with the dead being disturbed..." Cerin says with a small frown.
Aimea Riverside |
"Cerinnibert would you have use for an arcanist in your investigation? I am in town and don't have much else to do." She smiles politely at him before glancing into the shop to see what Arabeth is doing.
Alric Morgaine |
"oh crap daddy's back? Shayliss, you wound me to the quick..." Alric is near tears as he grabs his pants and pulls them on as fast as he can, fumbling in the dark. He whispers to her as he finishes dressing, "Is there a back door out of the basement? How do I get out past 'daddy', eh?"
Cerinnibert |
Cerin breaks into a broad grin. "Of course, you are more than welcome! I'm sure your talents will be of great value, and your company is much appreciated as well.
Blythe, it seems you are interested in getting to the bottom of this as well. Would you care to accompany us?"
Cerinnibert |
Cerin looks back and forth between Radbar and Blythe. "Excellent! So, Blythe, it seems you think we should check out the scene of the crime first for any clues. Perhaps afterwards we can see what we can find out about the deceased and whether it was him specifically they were after, or if this is just the first of many thefts by some deranged necromancer."
Seeing Aimea's continued looks at the shop he adds, "Though we should probably wait for Arabeth. I'm sure she wouldn't want you to go off and leave her all alone..." he says with a sly wink.
Cerinnibert |
"We will just have to ask around for directions. Although it might be easier if we wait for our guide to finish with his dalliance. Alric could probably speed our investigation considerably with his familiarity of the locale."
Aimea Riverside |
"And now to wait and see how long he takes.... heh" She added with a mischievous smile.
Her fox leaps from the tattoo on her skin, landing besides her and begins to nuzzle her leg.
DaWay |
As Alric moves to exit stage left, he is confronted as he begins his ascent of the stairs by a large bald headed man. SHAYLISS! What in the nine hells is going on here? He obviously pays no heed to Arabeth's attempts to intercept him.
You are pointed towards Thistletop.
Luckily she has gotten some clothes on though she does look a little disheveled.
Alric Morgaine |
Alric tries to slip past the man on the stairs... if he can't he'll stand his ground, if naught else than to protect the girl from the obviously angry man, who he is assuming is her father. He says nothing at first, since it was the girl who was being questioned, not him. He runs his fingers through his hair, hoping he doesn't look quite as disheveled as she does.
