As the title says, I am just checking for interest in a run through of Lost Mine of Phandelver, with the D&D 5e set of rules.
Play will be in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting.
stats will be 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 or 27 point buy.
Core races plus Goliath, Deep Gnome, Genasi, Eladrin and Aasimar are allowed.
No class restrictions.
No NE or CE alignments.
Standard Starting Equipment.
Looking for 4 players.
I am certainly interested, and I will update Anders accordingly.
Is the Variant Human Rules available for use? +1 to two ability scores, a feat, and a skill proficiency of your choice, instead of the normal +1 to each ability.
yes, variant humans in use.
if we go on skype, we can get adventures league credit for this as the rules say everyone all has to be on at once.
Sadly, I am horrible with skype and uploading moveable maps and such.
Is this for a PBP? I'm absolutely interested.
Here's Drakr Stonespear, Cleric of Torm.
There's a link to his character sheet in the profile. I'll add more detail soon.
Kip84
Would you run this as part of the AL? Then, totally up for it.
If I can report a pbp as a qualifying tool to al then sure.
Brilliant. I know that all the printed adventures can be submitted, as LMoP, Hoard of the Dragon Queen, etc.
Designing a Goliath Fighter.
And applying with Sahil Reis
Here is helix's submission. more work will be done to it soon. He is not the smartest, quickest, or most loveable. He was a survivor. Just need to finish him up. left my book at home.

wizards of the coast does not allow such a thing. Everyone has to be on at the same time is the rule, so it has to be in a chat site, on skype or on an actual table-top game.
Not correct. That's all for the Encounters/Expedition adventures. There are a few exceptions, where you can play as you wish, and these are the official adventures. And they can be played as PbP for full AL credit. I asked Robert Adducci, and he confirmed this.
you don't report via the WotC page, but players and DM can get full credit.
okay, cool, I have a level 1 Fighter Goliath I hope to get credit for.
I plan to use him in the new Elemental Evil Path, unless I have to start at level 1 for that. Hoping to start him out at level 2 or 3 when I start.
Also the DM gets credit, like 200 xp for any character he choses.
I am trusting the word of PeteZero
I am willing to run this for AL credit. Please make sure you have a DCI number.
So far we have:
Anders Buckman CN Human Outlander Barbarian 1
Drakr Stonespear LG Hill Dwarf Soldier War Cleric 1
Sahil Reis CG Human Sailor Fighter 1
Arek Ashborn Salzia-Kai LN Goliath ? Fighter 1
Anders and Drakr (I would like a DCI number if you want to play this for credit)
Arek Kai please finish your character and DCI if you want AL credit.
Please provide submissions if you want to be considered for play.
DoubleGold: I think I get 300 xp/150 gp/ 10 downtime days.
PeteZero and Doublegold: Do you get XP from the module or is there a set amount you get? Sorry, I am new to AL, and just want to play the game.
No clue how many episodes Lost Mines are, but he gets 300xp and 150gp per episode.

Just saw that it is four parts where as tyranny is episodes. Assuming this is 1 part is 1 episodes it looks like everyone will be level 5 by the end of the adventure.
Phew. Nice.
For me PbP is the only chance for any AL stuff. That happens when you live farfar away...
in chapter 1 of lost mines of phandelver, you do not get exp for monsters killed, but you get exp for what you did. There are 3 chances for exp, 2 are storyline based and 1 for something else, it tells you that at the end of the adventure. In chapter 2 it is based upon monsters. So you can add or delete monsters in chapter 1 because of party level and how many people are in the party, but it does not affect the exp gains and stuff.
and storyline exp is not divided, so if it says 75 exp storyline based, everyone gets that 75 exp.
Somebody tell me what AL Credit is and what DCI stands for. I am unfamiliar. I assume it is a WoTC thing?
You just need to sign up for the Wizards forums and you automatically get a DCI. Not sure what it stands for but it's basically the same as a PFS number.
I am already signed up for the forums, where do I see the number?
Adventurer's League and Duelist's Convocation International basically the equivilant of PFS
I'll find a link for you later tonight
does anyone want to start with a faction?
DCI #3203844243. Got it, Thanks!
Anders, Drakr, and Sahil please go to the discussion.
Arek still a complete character and DCI for you
all others I will take no more than 2 others, first come first served at this point.
I'm going to join, I just got to find my dci number and character sheet around the house.
Emerald Enclave for Anders.
character complete and DCI number included in the race section, it is in this profile, I could right up a whole backstory too if you want, but I'm not sure how much detail you want. Plus with the 5th edition personality traits and ideas added into the backstory, that goes already into roleplay depth.
Wow, three fighters. I think you guys are gonna tear right through this.
Till we come across something that needs an arcane touch.
Is it ok to work out the faction later?
yes you can work out the faction later, there is opportunity to get recruited into a faction built in the scenario. It is much like First Steps, but with more combat.
Ah well Hmm, I just had a quick look and Order of the Gauntlet seems to be a pretty good fit. So I'll probably join that during the adventure.
I think Sahil will decide during the scenario. Lords Alliance is probably the best fit. So looking forward to this.
The closing date for recruitment is now Monday, March 30th at 20:00 EST.
Hey Gm DaWay, I'm building a Dwarven wizard with the soldier background and was hoping you would allow me to roll for starting gold so I can start with the standard issue armour and weapons he was given in the army.
4d4 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 2) = 11 x10= 110 gp
This is OberonViking's submission. You can see in the profile that I am in the process of transferring all the data across.
No, on the rolling gold. I said from the start you get standard starting equiment. i.e. the stuff listed from the PHB in your class and background.
okay, I'll miss the army-issued armour, but I'll take the quarterstaff, crystal and explorer's pack.
From my Soldier background I gain the following equipment: An insignia of rank, a trophy taken from a fallen enemy (a dagger, broken blade, or piece of a banner), a set of bone dice or deck of cards, a set of common clothes, and a belt pouch containing 10 gp
Can I use that 10 gp to buy Hide Armor?
Sorry. I was caught up this weekend and am back on now. I will have the DIC number later today.
Still recruiting? I`m very interested. I`m very experienced in D&D5e. I`ve time to post everyday, in a good frequency.

By the way if this was adventures league, you never roll for gold, you either take the standard equipment or you treat it as if you had rolled max for gold, but you don't get both, which reminds me, I have to fix my character. As I had the entire character already created before this thread was even up and forgot to readjust equipment
So if you ever do Adventures league and create a wizard soldier, you either get 160 gold as if you rolled max or you take what they give you from wizard and soldier background but not both.
Edit: Fixed, and assuming we can buy stuff, I bought a sling and some ammo for it. And a few other minor stuff from the adventuring gear
