Zaladrel Orain
Zaladrel purses his lips lightly as his companions discuss the goblin behavior. Noting Cinder's apparent unease Zaladrel also takes a moment to look about he parties position in the camp. How does one offer a consoling hand on the shoulder to a burning creature from beyond this world? Zaladrel cannot resist the smile that comes to his lips but quickly regains his composure.
Hiding though they may be it seems to me that we have little to fear from whatever broke down the door as it was either large or lacking in subtlety. We can barely hear these goblins scurrying about like rats. Whatever came upon them is surely something we would notice were it still on the rampage.
Zaladrel's eyes narrow slightly as he pulls his hair back tighter to ensure it stays out of his face. All the same, goblins are destructive whatever their concentration and we do well to make sure they will not be a threat to Sandpoint any longer. If, however we are dealing only with the dregs, the weak or the unarmed, I would hope we might take prisoners rather than slay them outright. Those that shoot fireworks though...well, Ulf can put more notches in the floor if that is their choice.
DM Wellard
Namuril Xae-Tal
Namuril drops pace and walks aside Zaladrel. "Worry not, brother. If we encounter any unarmed goblin babes and lasses, I've no doubt our response will be to subdue rather than slay them outright. Our group seems like a fairly moral bunch."
He claps Zaladrel's shoulder. "The smashed door does worry me. I daresay the goblins deserve the ire of whatever beast that's gone a-rampaging here, but I don't wish to be killed by said creature. We'll be careful, have no doubt."
Omara Dalaston
It looks like we are in the cluster of rooms/huts in the lower left corner. If that is the case:
"It looks like we will have to go through that other door." Omara will backtrack through and out of the storage room and go south to the door leading to the square hut. She will listen at the door for sounds of possible occupants.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson
Ulf will follow Omara back to the other door they hadn't yet tried, giving her a fairly wide berth so the noise of his movement doesn't reveal her proximity, stopping a good ten feet behind her when she reaches the door to have a listen.
DM Wellard
Omara moves forward and listens again...She stiffens slightly, looks to the rest of, you points to the door and then taps her ear indicating she hears something.
Omara
Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson
Úlf grins, thrilled at the idea of finally having more goblins to swing his axe on, then hesitates for a moment before approaching the door. Remembering the position he was in when he simply opened/kicked in the door the previous two times, he decides to take a different approach this time, backing up a few more feet from where he was standing ten feet behind Omara, then charges the door, attempting to simply shoulder charge through the door, axe in hand, allowing him to move on into the room and get himself out of the doorway so the other party members may also enter.
Charge/Bull Rush: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Cinder the Eidolon
Cinder roars in bestial fury with a sound like a lava flow and crackling flames as the adrenaline from the prospect of the coming battle fills it. The rune before its forehead flashes with light and small flames run across its body through the cracks between its plates. Head lowered it plows through the exposed entrance after Úlf.
DM Wellard
Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson
Yikes...full surprise round and then we ALL go again before the goblins do. Not a good situation for them to find themselves in.
Úlf bellows in delight at the presence of the goblins in the room, and if possible will use his action to get within range of one of the goblins in the room while staying out of the doorway to allow the others in, then takes a swing.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Damage: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
If attacking isn't possible, Úlf will use a move action to get to one of the goblins farthest from the door so he won't keep anyone else from being able to get in.
Not a good situation as long as everyone else does a smidge better on their attacking, at least. Sheesh.
Zaladrel Orain
I'll hold until the end of the round and move about then, I am so far in the back there is no reason fr me to jostle everybody.
Cinder the Eidolon
If it's possible, Wellard, I'd like to charge the nearest goblin and attack around the corner so I'm out of the doorway.
Flames lick the steel of Cinder's blade as it goes low and charges across the entry. Back to the wall it stabs the blade in quick, short thrusts from around the corner.
Longsword 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Its blind stabs find nothing but air, and Cinder roars in frustration with a sound like a furnace and the heat to match.
Omara Dalaston
Are these goblins armed?
Omara moves into the room past Ulf and attacks the goblin in the corner.
Goblin G8. If the goblin is armed she makes a normal attack. If it is unarmed, she will make a non-lethal attack (at -4, included in the following roll just in case).
Attack roll: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 2 - 4 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
DM Wellard
Goblin Will save 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9
Ulf steps forward into the midst of the goblins and swings wildly his axe missing by a good margin.Omara follows hiom through the door and aims a blow at the goblin before her with the pommel but it bounces of the goblin's helmet.Cinder leaps forwards but his attempt to strike at the goblin around the corner is stymied.
Runa speaks a word of power and Goblin 5 falls to the ground asleep.(asleep till round 2 )
Namuril Xae-Tal
Cursing in frustration at the cramped quarters, Namuril delays his action and waits for the congested area to allow him more advantageous placement.
DM Wellard: Judging everyone's actions, I can't really move into position or attack any goblins from my angle; all squares are full and the door's corners block any potential missile attacks. I hold my action. Sorry, guys!
Zaladrel Orain
Unsure where to go Zaladrel will actually move to and crack open the boor that was north of Tavlor's starting position (it should lead back outside) to see if anything else moves about the camp.
Perception:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Omara Dalaston
I am assuming that goblin 8 is unarmed
Omara will point the tip of her rapier at the goblin and attempt to intimidate him into giving up without a fight.
Intimidate (+4 for being a size larger): 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 4 = 17
Maybe he'll realize he has a chance to live.
DM Wellard
Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson
Úlf grimaces, sorely disappointed by the result of his first attempt at a strike and rejudges his aim, attempting to hit the goblin standing directly to his right (G8), since it is furthest from his companions.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Runa
Seeing no other foes in her line of sight, Runa grabs Tofa and trys to get out of the way of the warriors, allowing them to move more freely into the room.
So she will either move into the corner so someone else can get past her, or she will exit the room to make space for another player.
Cinder the Eidolon
Cinder will continue to attempt to stab the goblin from around the corner
Cinder continues to thrust its sword hacking, slashing, and chopping at the goblin just around the corner.
Longsword Attack 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 - 2 = 10
Cinder rumbles at its continued inability to find any purchase for his blade.
DM Wellard
By RAW you can't attack round corners
Goblin 8 goes down under Ulf's Axe and the Fighter moves into the corner
Runa joins Zaladrel on the outer walkway.
Omara points her blade at the sleeping goblin who remains blissfiully unaware of it for a few more seconds..he'll wake up with the point of the blade aimed squarely between his eyes.
G5 and G7 both hack at Ulf with their dogslicers inflicting another minor slice on the Skaldik man. They booth let out cries of rage and fear ..at which point the door behind g7 opens to reveal yet more goblins.
G5 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18 damage 1d4 ⇒ 2
G7 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
G 6 wakes up and stares cross-eyed at the rapier point.
Namuril Xae-Tal
Is there any way I can move to the square Runa was once in? From what I understand, the square is open; I would have line of sight to some enemies, at that point! Of course, any goblins would have soft cover (at least) from Cinder . . .
At any rate: since I haven't acted this round, may I move to that square?
DM Wellard
No problem with Namuril moving.
Tavlor has no targets or anywhere to go at the moment.
As the cries go up from inside the building an answering cry comes from the north and 4 goblins round the corner of the large central building.
Ulf 22+
Omara 22
Cinder 21
Runa 17+
Zaladrel 17
Tavlor 12
Namuril 9
Goblins 4
Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson
Current HP = 13
Hearing the faint sound of more goblin cries from outside the building, Úlf bellows in reply, "I think people outside will soon have hands full! Better that I stay and keep goblins here from reaching others! We should try to make bottleneck at doorways so goblins cannot enter unhindered! Omara, please step forward and let Cinder enter when your goblin is finished!" before taking a slash at G5 and then stepping quickly to his left, trying to further block the door out of the room to where the others are standing.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Damage: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
*holds his breath* Man, 15 is right in that range where I don't know if I hit or not...please please please...
Omara Dalaston
Fudge! I didn't come here to slaughter goblins, thinks Omara. But I'm not willing to die to be nice them, either. Omara reluctantly attempts to plant her rapier in the chest of the goblin she was threatening and move further into the room so other people can get in.
Attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Evidently, too reluctantly
Zaladrel Orain
Zaladrel sets his jaw, draws and knocks an arrow.
Nearest Goblin: AAAttaaaaccckkk!!! 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Of course I would leave my longsword stashed outside the camp, acting like a true child. Well there is nothing for it Zaladrel, either Desna will still smile upon you or you will pay for your lack of foresight.
Free action drop the bow, move action to pull the starknife. Zaladrel will take a fighting stance and prepare for charging goblins.
Runa if we cannot deal with this problem quickly the healers will be cut off from the rest of the party. If we need to I can hold them here but the others need to stay on their feet. Zaladrel looks at Runa to the door behind her for emphasis.
Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson
DM Wellard, my attack roll would actually be a 16. My character sheet here has the attack bonus recorded inaccurately; I think when I was getting the BBCode output from HeroLab, I accidentally left the attack bonus for the armor gauntlet by the greataxe after taking the gauntlet out. It would actually be 10 + 1(BAB)+4(STR)+1(Wpn Focus). I'll change it on my sheet, but I figure that's a pretty important thing to have accurate. Sorry! My bad!
