Sorry for the brief delay, folks. I'm overseeing the organization of the Pathfinder Society games at our local game convention this weekend. If anyone feels like making the trip to the Capital Region of New York, you should check it out the Council of Five Nations :) Normal posting will resume on Monday!

True enough. Being the second PbP that I've been involved in (first I've run), I'm still use to a lot of the standard table-top conventions - like letting the players roll their checks. Thanks for the tip.
We're almost through with this scenario and I hope you'll all hang around for the next one! If people want to shoot me their email addresses, I'll start getting the chronicle sheets prepared. You can either leave your email address here, or if you'd prefer email it to keggincurdle in the land of gmail :)

I'm going to use our present encounter as a "lesson learned" moment. Typically for table-top games I have a standard marching order for the party, unless someone specifically states otherwise before hand. I don't know why I didn't for you guys. Although it's a little late for the current encounter, why don't you guys go ahead and figure out your default marching order. It would probably be best to get one for single file and one for double file and know which of those two is your default formation.
Thanks again for bearing with me as I adapt to the PbP format of play.

To avoid bogging down the Gameplay thread, I'll just post here that considering how much of a nuisance it is to be healing your enemies at the same time as your allies - especially ones that are hard to hurt in the first place - Selective Channeling seems like such a required feat for anyone that can channel energy that such characters could almost be considered to have been given one less feat available to them. I wonder if it wouldn't have been better to make it more of a progressive feature of the the Channel Energy power. Something like, "At 5th level you may choose to exclude one creature from the effects of your channel energy ability. You may select one additional creature every 5 levels beyond 5th."

I'm writing up the paperwork for this first scenario and still need Pathfinder numbers and email addresses from Srina and Hekirin. If you two can post your info here or shoot an email to bamclean at the g-mail, I'd appreciate it (my keggincurdle account has been compromised and no longer accessable).

Congratulations on completing part one of the First Steps series. I'll be emailing each of you your chronicle sheets when I return to work tomorrow. Since we wrapped things up in time, I'll also be including the Jestercap chronicle sheet for each of you, assuming you haven't received one already from another GM (limit one per player).

I've been giving consideration to rolling an Elven ranger for PFS, would you be open to someone stepping in so the party stays balanced?
I realize things are well and away already kicked off, but if it was at all important to you all, I'd be happy to oblige.
I'm honestly not sure about the "legalities" in society- would I have needed to start from the beginning with this?

Pickwick, as long as no one else has any objection, you're more than welcome to step in. We've already wrapped up part one of the First Steps series and have only just concluded the "mission briefing" for part two, so this would be a perfect time for you to get in on the action.
If you haven't already, you should download a copy of the PFS Player's Guide, HERE, to make sure the character is in compliance with Society rules. As for starting play with part two of the First Step series, it's perfectly acceptable. They can be played in any order and their plots aren't related, so you won't miss anything by not starting from the beginning. The idea is that over the course of the three scenarios you're introduced, in game, to the flavors of the ten different factions your character can choose to join.
So, unless there's an objection from the rest of the part, put a character together and join us on the gaming thread.
