Kylar Bannon |

Grimacing as the goblin's blade slashes through his robes and flesh, Kylar is satisfied to see the same creature fall prey to his magic.
Color Spray Effects: 2d4 + 1d4 ⇒ (1, 1) + (4) = 6
Unconscious/Blinded/Stunned for 2 rounds, Blinded/Stunned for another 4 rounds, Stunned for 1 round

Wilhelm vs. Goblin #4: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 = 5
Fat lot of good that did. :P
Goblin #2 vs. Bjorn: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Goblin #3 vs. Bjorn: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Goblin #4 vs. Wilhelm: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Goblin #5 vs. Helena: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Goblin #7 vs. Rayla: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Hobgob vs. Rayla: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 3 - 4 = 4
Another arrow whizzes by Rayla's head as one of the goblins tries to take advantage of her concentration. The warrioress manages to avoid the clumsy blow, and all around, the scene is repeated again, and again.
Except for Bjorn and Helena. One of the goblin's attacking Bjorn manages to open a gash in the large man's thigh. Helena's sleeve turns crimson as blood from the fresh cut on her arm soaks into the cloth.
Party up, Bjorn takes 3 slashing, Helena takes 2 slashing.

Rayla |

Rayla turned to the next goblin while the first was still collapsing in a fountain of blood. Whether it was a grin or a snarl she cast at the next goblin was hard to say, but it there was no doubt she enjoyed being unleashed for the moment. Almost like in a dance she shifted her weight from one leg to another, but shifted the momentum into her greatsword, sacrificing a bit of stability to surprise the enemy, while maintaining deadly elegance.
Stats:
STR 20, CON 18, AC 15 touch 10 flat-footed 13, Hit Points: 11/14 (including two temporary), Attack (greatsword): +7, Damage (greatsword): 2d6+7, CMD: 17, CMB +5, Fort +6, Ref +2, Will +1
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (2, 5) + 7 = 14
That's vs. Goblin #7. If it dies Rayla moves into its field, G6. Otherwise G5. She can rage for four more rounds after this.
Erm... on second thought... if Goblin #6 is already stunned I move to H3, assuming Delilah lets me through her field.

Kylar Bannon |

It lives!
Kylar grips his staff in both hands and, with a grunt of effort, brings it down in an overhead blow on the helpless goblin's skull.
Coup de Grace Damage, Goblin #6: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 2) = 8
But hopefully that gobbo doesn't!

DM-Salsa |

Yes it does. ;)
and these are your standard 6hp gobs. In other words, he's dead Jim.

Skäne Snjármǫn |

Believe my lad was in H5... moving him to current location on the map though :)
With no opponents immediately facing him Skäne moves back to support his fellow Northman (5ft Step to I4)
The Northman venomously lances at the nearest goblin (#2) with his spear;
Spear (Melee): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Spear Crit Confirm?:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Nei :(

Helena the Pale |

Helena wasn't overly fond of the tiefling - while knowing nothing of her heritage, her mannerisms had rubbed her the wrong way from the beginning. Still, she was a healer by trade, and therefore, she couldn't, in good conscience, let her die.
Removing a hand from her spear, wincing at the cut on her arm, Helena raises her hand high, calling on the forests of home, the magical energy that seemed to suffuse every living thing. It was this energy that would aid them now.
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Heals for all! Using selective channel to exclude the four living goblins. :p

DM-Salsa |

Wilhelm vs.Goblin 4: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Bjorn vs. Goblin 3: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Goblin 2 vs Skane: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Goblin 3 vs Bjorn: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Hobgob vs Bjorn: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
"USELESS RATS!" The Hobgoblin bellows as several goblins die in a flurry of steel. Wilhelm manages to kill one with a sloppy thrust that almost doesn't get past the goblin's defenses. Bjorn swings, and leaves himself open. The goblin's counter misses, the stroke from the hobgoblin's freshly drawn sword doesn't.
Skane takes a few nicks and cuts as the goblin he almost killed goes into a frenzy and swings his sword wildly about.
The goblin that was targeted by Delilah's spell looks at the party, wondering what's going on.

Rayla |

The world is still an stream of red and black through which Rayla dances, but somewhere in her mind is a warning sound that she won't be able to keep this up forever.
Consciously she hardly aware of the next Goblin she strikes. Just hostile collection of motion, threat, tactical properties, her focus is already elsewhere before her fury searches for the next target, rushing through the fighting crowd. But she needs to calm down for now.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 1) + 7 = 13
She leaves rage after this round which will leave her with 3 more rounds of rage for the day. She will be fatigued when it is next her turn.

Skäne Snjármǫn |

@Rayla: Am a bit baffled if your engaging at our end of town or moving back up to fight alongside Helena??
Seeing that the auld warrior has things in hand Skäne moves toward the hobgoblin that promises a better challenge to the huge Northman
Depending on Rayla's movement Skäne will either take a 5ft Step a replace Rayla in J5 or will move to J6 and engage the hob
Smiling darkly the þursfyrðar warrior looms over the hobgoblin and brings his bloodied spear to bear on the goblinkin:
Spear (Melee): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Rayla |

Rayla started the round at H3, attacked #5 and moved, again through Delilah's field (currently H4), assuming she permits it, to J5. I already moved her on the map. Goblin #5 must be dead now - unless it has at least AC 22 I just caused 13 hit points worth of damage.
EDIT: Forget previous notion in this place... I thought you attacked Goblin #2, but you attacked the Hobgoblin.

DM-Salsa |

He is, I forgot to fix it last time I edited the map.
@Kylar: if you want, you can redo your turn, otherwise, you make sure the goblin is actually dead.

Helena the Pale |

Feeling the pulse of life magic subside, Helena grips her spear again and darts around the still-reeling goblin.
Double moving to get around to the hobgoblin. Goblin #2 is dazed and can't take actions, so no AoO, I believe.

DM-Salsa |

I keep forgetting that Wilhelm has a +2 due to his FE bonus.
Wilhelm vs. Goblin #2: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 2 = 15
Goblin #2 vs Wlihelm: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
The hobgoblin spits at Bjorn's feet before stepping back and attacking Helena. His swing is wide and he snarls at the others.
"Tha Queen will have yer heads on pikes fer this!"
Meanwhile, one of the last goblins swings furiously, managing to knock Wilhelm's blow to the side and gashing his arm.
Party up!

Kylar Bannon |

Kylar's eyes snap to the hobgoblin as he realizes this stronger specimen might have more useful information than the weaklings they took in the forest.
"What queen? We should question it. Can't trust any of the others to have the finesse to capture it..."
His major offensive spells already spent for the day, Kylar is forced to focus upon his vague memories of the magic and rely upon the arcane assistance of his ring.
Wizard Bonded Object ability - cast... you guessed it, Color Spray! DC 15 or suffer:
2d4 + 1d4 ⇒ (3, 3) + (2) = 8
Unconscious, Blind, Stunned for 6, Blind and Stunned for 2, and stunned for 1
The blast of light bursts out and Kylar aims it at a goblin and the hobgoblin - but unfortunately Helena is also bathed in the magical radiance.
I'm sure she is strongwilled enough to resist the spell... Kylar thinks, and hopes.
Concentration v Possible Damage: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Avoiding the nearby goblin's blows as best he can, Kylar moves to a better vantage point and casts his spell. The blast of light bursts out and Kylar aims it at a goblin and the hobgoblin. Now that he has a means to further their mission, he hopes to bring this annoying trifle of a fight to a quick end - hopefully without the hobgoblin's certain bloody death. That could come after the questions.

Rayla |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Rayla's head is pulsing with the kickback she always suffers after she let her celestial fury go. Still, she presses out a somewhat exhausted: "I'll send your queen your head, so she knows we're coming for her."
She swung her blade - damn this thing was suddenly heavy.
New stats: Attack +4, Damage 2d6+3, AC 16, HP 14, F +4, Ref +1, Will -1, CMB +3, CMD 13 (Conditions: fatigued for five more rounds, not including the current)
Five foot step to K5, original location J5
Attack vs. Hobgoblin: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 4) + 3 = 12
EDIT: I forgot to calculate in the bonus from Freebooter's Bane, damage and hit roll are +1 respectively.

DM-Salsa |

And the Hobgob is down! Are you going to let the two goblins surrender, or are you going to finish them off?

Kylar Bannon |

If the hobgoblin drops before Kylar casts his spell, he'll save it. He'll shout "Keep it alive! We need what it knows." If goblins surrender he'll stop attacking, but otherwise he'll attack goblin #2.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Helena the Pale |

Helena holds her position for now, waiting to see if the goblins accept the surrender.

Skäne Snjármǫn |

For his part Skäne moves toward the remaining goblin, supporting both Wilhelm and his shield brodir as he does;
Move to I4 and attack
Lumbering into the line with a nonchalant expression, the big Northman attempts to skewer the wounded goblin:
Spear (Melee): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Critical Confirm?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Nah

Kylar Bannon |

"Bind it," Kylar says. "Hopefully this one knows more than the others."
Know(Nature): 10 + 8 = 18 Take 10. What does Kylar know about hobgoblins that might help him interrogate it?
Maybe a little deja vu, here...

DM-Salsa |

Helena the Pale |

"Is anyone wounded?" Helena calls to the group, squinting around te clearing - she can just see everyone from her position, though some forms are shadowy and indistinct. She grips her spear as she makes her way forward, her breathing slowly calming, the faint flush in her cheeks slowly ebbing away to its usual wan shade.

Rayla |

Rayla pants heavily as her body is trying to catch up from unleashing her raw inner energy. She bends over the Hobgoblin. "I am fine. Actually better than before the fight, thanks to your divine work. Let's see that it doesn't bleed to death before we can question it."
She brushes the blood from her sword using some forest grass, gives it a brief glance for new notches - it will require more thorough checking later - and puts it into its sheath on her back.
She casts a glance over to Delilah who was struck down during the fight in order to see how she's holding out.
In case anyone tries a heal check to stabilize the hobgoblin Rayla will try to aid.
Heal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Helena the Pale |

"I can do that again if anyone needs it," Helena reminds Rayla, before crouching over the unconscious hobgoblin. "Place your hands here, to staunch the bleeding," she instructs the barbarian, busying herself with the creaure's vitals.
Heal: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 to stabilize.

DM-Salsa |

After a few minutes of work, both Rayla and Helena have bound the hobgoblin's wounds. Wilhelm, meanwhile, glares at him with unveiled hatred and his fingers clench and relax around the hilt of his sword in time with his slow, steady breathing.
Hobgoblin's out cold still, anyone want to try waking him up?

Kylar Bannon |

Kylar lays a hand on Wilhelm's shoulder.
"Easy, friend. I suspect you'll have the chance to end many goblin lives before this is over."
He then prods the hobgoblin with his staff.
Kylar will let someone else handle the talking this time around.
