Even expecting these events isn't enough for Dilwyn to be properly prepared for just how quickly things went from zero to hectic upon arrival. Not wanting to get left too far behind, he takes a moment to breathe deeply and enhance his quarterstaff into a shillelagh.

Can someone place me in roughly the middle of the room please? I’m assuming the left door is still closed. If Hilde could open it, my plan is different.

So I have been checking the boards to see what action-if any opening a door would be since only one action can be taken on a surprise round. The consensus seems to be that opening a door should not be an action but cost movement-usually 10ft. That seems reasonable to me, and since Hilde was 20ft from the door, she can move and open it and do nothing else in the surprise round. Sound good?
@Iskender-If you want to change your action based on the open door, feel free.

Hilde sees Dilwyn shaking his head about the door he is listening to, so she proceeds to go an open the other door, reading an attack is something approaches.

Hilde opens the door E3. A polished wood desk sits parallel to the north wall here, with a large chair behind it. A complicated brass orrery, no larger than a map globe, sits on one corner of the desk. Ornate rugs cover the floor and lend a more comfortable and luxurious ambiance. Paintings of strange, inhuman cities decorate the walls, their architecture suggestive of geometric insect hives. A few bookcases stand against the far walls, and a set of double doors exits west.

Dilwyn gives Min a wry smile. "I get your point," he says. "But, to play Asmodean advocate for a moment, a big, locked desk like seems a likely place for information to be hidden. Also bringing any other close-by guards to us with all that noise is probably a good thing for bringing guards to us instead of letting them set up an ambush elsewhere, if it works out like that." He shakes his head. "But mostly, I've noticed that worrying too much about plans and stealth with this bunch is only likely to give you indigestion. Best to be a duck, you know?"
