Danna again conjures another bolt from the sky to strike at the wyvern.
Taldani again launches an arrow and watches as it barely misses clipping the great beasts body before falling away harmlessly.
Another of Danna's bolts of lightning blasts the wyvern as Taldani's arrow bounces harmlessly of its tough hide.
The elementals continue to try and punish the wyvern attempting to knock it form the air.
Kyras stands ready waiting for the wyverns next action.
Out of the corner of his eye, Bjelich sees another arrow from Erastil's conjured bow miss its mark, We're out of practice my friends! We need to coordinate better than this! Trying to seize upon what little time is left before Kyras' gusts of wind fizzle up and blow away, Bjelich reaches for his symbol yet again. Rubbing the side of the wooden carving he envisions an animal capable of assisting them and calls to it.
The elementals buffet the wyvern but the tough creature seems to shrug off the blows with ease.
Finwik advances and lobs another arrow toward the winged beast...
...but once again the arrow fails to find its mark.
As does Bjelich's spiritual weapon as the cleric begins a summoning spell of his own.
The wyvern again lashes out at one of the elementals...
...ripping some of its wispy essence free of its form before pumping its wings and taking flight once again, unconcerned about the harassing elementals. The large reptilian angles back towards the Guardians.
The Air elementals swirl harmlessly as the lizard curves away from them.
Taldani draws another arrow as he tracks the wyvern across the sky and lets it fly.
Again watching as the arrow flys harmlessly off in the distance.
Kyras continues to wait seeing what the wyvern will do.
Another lightning bolt arcs through the sky to strike at the wyvern.
She then moves behind the copse near her to try to keep the horses out of any retaliation that may be directed at her.
The elementals flail harmlessly at the wyvern as it resumes its flight and Taldani looses another arrow into the evening sky just as another bolt of lighting flashes down upon the winged beast...
...the smell of ozone and burnt flesh reaching your nostrils as a small hole is punched in its wing.
Bjelich's words fade just as quickly as they are said and with the last of his words uttered, a portal of light appears in the sky near the worm. Soon the screams a solitary eagle announce the arrival of a little more help. Yet Bjelich's heart drops. He'd been hoping for more. Still, Bjelich takes an optimistic breath and knocks an arrow. Drawing a bead on the wyvern, he looses the projectile but Bjelich's tracking is off by a heartbeat - his arrow flies past the creature's tail. Out of the corner of his eye he notes the spiritual image of his god's favored weapon also misses. Cursing his luck Bjelich rakes his brain for something else. Suggestions?!
The air elementals quickly seem to fly effortlessly as they attempt to swarm the wyvern again.
The air seems to swirl and ripple as they buffet teh air around the Wyvern ineffectally.
Bjelich looks back at his companions, his gaze seemingly fixing upon the crossbow stowed at Kyras' side. The cleric's eyes move to the half-elf tyrant's, back to the crossbow, and then again to Kyras'. Does that thing work, or is it just for decoration?
Kyras pulls his cross bow takes careful aim and watches as the bolt, not securely seated in the track falls out the side of the crossbow harmlessly landing at his feet.
I figured it was for show only!! can you not bring that beast to ground with some power of Erastil?
As Finwik prepares to fire another arrow he suddenly realizes there is nothing standing between himself and the beast. Instead of knocking the arrow in his hand, he lets it fall to the ground. Clutching his bow in his other hand he quickly turns tail and sprints to find a better (safer) vantage point from which to assist his group with his most excellent marksmanship.
As he passes by Taldani and Kyras he offers brisk words of encouragement. Keep up the pressure! We will take him when he closes!
As soon as he passes behind Kyras, he lets the feigned confidence drain from his face. Turning to face the beast once more, he is at least embolded seeing he now has two allies standing between himself and the beast.
The air elementals pursue the wyvern in vain as they aren't seemingly strong enough to hurt it.
Finwik makes a tactical retreat, as a single eagle answers Bjelich's summons. It dives on the much larger wyvern, but fails to make contact, as its master's arrow and his spiritual weapon's arrow sail past the chaotic fracas in the sky.
At the cleric's chiding, Kyras un-slings his crossbow and fumbles awkwardly while trying to load it.
The wyvern, ignoring the gathering pests around it, flies towards Bjelich, its trailing tail jabbing out at the priest atop his horse as it passes overhead...
...and only by the grace of Erastil's divine shield is the venomous stinger stopped from hitting his faithful follower!
Watching the skies, Bjelich sees the wyvern alter its flight path and it dawns on him that he has become the creature's intended target. Caught off guard by the wyvern's actions, the eagle Bjelich had summoned can only scream its frustrations. Still, at least it made an attempt. Reaching out a taloned foot the eagle barrel rolls in flight, missing the wvyern completely.
Standing ready for the attack, Bjelich turns Mokos at the last minute in an effort to spare his mount the lashing of an errand claw. The cleric's eyes widen at the sight of the lizard's tail passing immediately so near his head that he could see the details of its scales. Then, just as fast as the lizard's tail presented itself, it was gone. Horrified and yet somehow honored to be the first of his group attacked by the beast (even if he's the only one still mounted), Bjelich says a silent prayer of thanks to the Lord of the Hunt. If only to steady his heart, which had momentarily moved into throat, the prayer did its job. Feeling a bit calmer, the cleric wishes he could share the same optimism his god has. With no one save Danna succeeding in leaving so much as a mark on their foe, Bjelich wonders what anyone else could do to turn the tide of this conflict.
As the menace flies nearer Danna again calls on the power of storms to aid them. Another bolt of lightning slams into the beast.
Taldani again launches an arrow skyward at the beast. Unfortunately, the wind gusts just as he releases blowing the projectile harmlessly away.
The eagle and elementals fail to discourage the wyvern`s flight, Taldani`s arrow sails into the darkening sky and another bolt of lightning cracks and blasts the wyvern.
Luck it seems, is not on the side of his grace, Bjelich Dalibor of Silvania. He'd cast a barrage of spells meant to both bolster his allies and harry the wyvern, yet Bjelich can only look on in disbelief as the spiritual representation of his god's favored bow launches another stray arrow, followed quickly by his own. Having practiced faithfully these past six months on the ranges of their capital Bjelich can't help but wonder what he is doing wrong.
Guiding Mokos around to track the wyvern's movement, his eyes watch for the summoned eagle. No sooner does he find the bird, than he is once again left feeling as though a very dark shadow has befallen the group. Trailing far behind the worm, the eagle screams its frustrations as its struggles to catch up. Finally getting within range, it is again outmaneuvered leaving nothing but air for the bird's talons to grasp onto. Thank Erastil for Danna! At least her lightening has had some affect.
The air elementals again scream across the sky attempting to surround the lizard. Once cornered they again seem to flail the very air at the beast.
Kyras again attempts to knock another bolt in the crossbow before watching it sail harmlessly towards teh tree line.
The elementals continue to harry the wyvern to no effect.
Finwik moves to take up a better vantage point to fire at the wyvern.
Finwik, calling upon the power of his magical helmet, lets an arrow fly. Perhaps to his surprise, and guided as if by the Stag Lord himself, the arrow pierces the wyvern's tough hide, burying itself right up to the fletchings!
Bjelich's arrow, that of his spiritual weapon, and his summoned eagle all alike fail to find the same success with their own attacks.
Similarly, Kyras and the elementals find their own attacks futile as well.
The Wyvern glides over Danna's head before landing between her and Finwik. It roars in anger before biting at her with its maw full of jagged teeth...
...chomping down on the hapless druid and refusing to let go!
Danna struggles as the wyrm grabs her and fumbles for her sickle. Bringing it to hand she slashes at the beast.
Taldani drops his useless bow to the ground and grabs his glaive as he attempts to charge the great lizard.

Taldani discards his bow and draws his glaive as he rushes the grounded Wyvern. Slashing at it, his weapon makes solid contact, but this Wyvern's skin seems to be covered in hardened black protrusions. It turns and hisses at him but does not release Danna.
Danna attempts to wound the beast, rather than attempt to escape its clutches, but the wyvern proves too strong for her and swats the weapon away with a wing.
Correcting itself in flight the eagle beats its wings and succeeds in catching up to the wyvern as it grapples with the druid. Talons poised, it makes another grab from the lizard. But to no avail. Clutching once again at nothing the eagle screams its usual frustrations into the air.
Below Bjelich encourages it onward as he retrieves another of his arrows. This time the eagle swoops but its now familiar cry tells Bjelich the birds following attempt was another miss. At the same time an invisible projectile is loosed from the translucent bow hovering overhead. The handful of dirt kicked up yards away from where wyvern and Danna struggle tells Bjelich this too missed. 0 for five. Calling upon Erastil's bow had seemed like a good spell to keep on hand and in the past it had had some success. But overall, the spell disappoints more often than it's worth. Have I forgotten another Holy Day?! Out of the corner of his eye, Bjelich notes the twinkling outline of the spiritual bow fall elegantly apparent to shower the air with thousands of tiny minute lights. Time's up. What next? With no time to ponder on mistakes, Bjelich draws his own bow string taut. Turning Mokos with his knees he brings the tip of his arrow into line with the wyvern and releases the string. His arrow sails off towards its target.
The elementals continue to blow cool breezes over the wyvern to ensure he does not get overheated.
Danna! Get out of there!!! Kyras yells seeing one of his oldest friends held in the beasts maw.
quickly reaching into his pouch he pulls out a small ball of butter and tosses it towards Danna while whispering words of power. Suddenly her skin becomes shiny as a thick layer of grease spreads over her body.
Meanwhile the Elementals again swirl down to surround the wyvern trying vainly to cause it some measure of harm. unfortunately, the power of air seems to be weak here.
Desperate, Finwik goes on the offensive. In one swift movement he drops his bow and draws his small dagger and thrusts forth, aiming for a segment between the Wyvern's scales.
The elementals continue to helplessly flail away at the wyvern as Finwik tries to stick it with his tiny dagger. Even with the wyvern grappling Danna and the elementals providing some distraction, the halfling finds it difficult to make contact with the wyvern in any meaningful way.
Bjelich, his spiritual bow and the eagle all fail as well, with the bow disappearing after firing its last arrow.
Kyras does his best to try and aid Danna in escaping the Wyvern's wicked looking clutches, coating her in a shiny sheen of grease.
The wyvern focuses it attention squarely on the prey held in its mouth...
...but suddenly and inexplicably it loses its grip upon the druid!
Enraged, the monster unleashes a flurry of attacks!
The beast's wickedly barbed tail buries itself in her abdomen, injecting her with its vial venom just as the jagged teeth clamp down on her neck crushing her windpipe and severing her jugular. To add insult, it batters her limp form with its heavy wings.
As the druid hangs gruesomely from the wyvern's mouth the gathered thunder cloud dissipates with a final thunderous clap.
