Sorry, missed your bit in the post that says you're wearing armor...

Round 1 correction....

Jon takes no damage from the fish, as he sloshes around in the water, stirring up much sand.

You can catch Harry up with a good couple of strokes, you can get to within 20ft of the shore before beaching. You are 75ft from shore, Harry and Jon are about 5ft in front of the launch. You can be next to Harry next round, wherever he ends up....if you row with Charles... Bonus on the roll for roll playing the heave-ho thing...

Lysandra:

You sea shanty did work for Leylyn, but you take a -4 for wearing armor, so failed to alleviate the fatigue etc. So you can use your sea shanty now and on the beach, (close proximity to navigable water...). Mythril's properties do not as far as I have read exclude it from the following rule... from pg 444 Core Pathfinder, 'Those wearing heavy clothes or armor take -4 on their saves.

As the poison works its way around Harry's body, he tries to fight back but the poison is too powerful and as Harry looses balance with the pain and falls into the water head down, the nerves in his body freeze in pain. Just before the final paralysis and pain force him to keel over into the sea, Harry just managed to take a breath and hold it under water.

Harry is paralyzed for 3d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 4) = 12 minutes
Harry can hold his breath for 24 rounds before drowning.

Charles and Lysandra, quickly decide to row to shore, but Lysandra so affected by the heat is unable to either concentrate fully nor pull a good strong stoke with the oar. Instead the launch almost drifts forward to where Harry's body is bobbing face down in the water.

From another part of the bay, Captain Trueheart watches with astonishment as Harry screams and falls into the water. The captain's launch starts to move quickly to the beach.

The launch with Charles and Laysandra is next to Harry and you, you are the other side of the launch to Harry, using the domain power you can walk round the launch and get to Harry...

Leylyn is swimming within 30ft of the launch, in no apparent danger...she can stand up in the water just like you can, or she can swim. No fish have attacked her...

When you get to Harry, Charles is leaning over the boat, trying to get Harry too...

Leylyn...as you said swimming is a move action....then you can either cast..or climb into the boat as a standard action. Climbing into the boat needs a strength check...but remember Charles is trying to pull up Harry onto the boat at the same time. Casting from the back of the boat may or may not bring you within range of the fish!!!!! See the previous post...then let me know what you want to do...

With the fish, now engaged in a life or death struggle with the dolphins, the group easily row to withing 30 ft of the shore when the launch is grounded on the sandy bottom.

Thumper, his head above water barks at those in the launch, as if reminding them that he's still there as he swims towards the launch and away from the fish. His master, Harry lays in the bottom of the launch, motionless apart from his breathing, his wounds red and raw, blood seeps out into the bottom of the launch.

Leylyn swims towards the shore away from the fish, until she too is 20ft from the beach's edge, where she stands comfortably out of the water, salt water lapping up just above her knees, her hair dripping and her wet clothes clinging to her shapely body.

Umm...perhaps you might like to join me on this expedition into the island? , he says, licking his lips involuntarily.

His cabin boy, George, kicks his shin, to get his mind back on the important things going on around...saying, "captain sir, shouldn't we be getting back to help the crew over there, they're expecting you to lead them inland. Then we can leave your friends here, to make their own way on the hunt."

You gather yourselves and take stock, relax and recover on the beach before you make you start to make your way inland. Charles smiles at Harry.

"Well, I can't claim to be an expert, but I do have some experience re-victualing ships on long hauls, so I can probably find us something edible."

Charles will be looking for nests (for eggs and 'poultry'), game trails (for 'red' meat), and fruit...

"Well perhaps you can tip me off on how to go about it as we wander, never know where bounty hunting might lead me, might save me life one day eh?"

Harry will be doing what he does best, trying to move with the shadows as much as possible, and keeping an eye out for threats - whilst looking for game trails.

Despite Jon's best efforts, in the time available he is able to catch a single small red, blue and silver fish enough for one person to eat, even though the brightly coloured float looked to have been pulled into the water a couple of times quite savagely. "Ohh, the big ones that got away!" Harry just gets his boots wet, as his hook flies almost anywhere, except where he intended, fortunately each time it did end up in the water and not behind him trapped in the tree line.

Leylyn and Harry wander into the tree line, each shouting out to the other, "I'm sure I've found a trail or track, come on this way!" only for each to disappear a few feet into the trees and suddenly reappear with a long face, "Maybe not!"

However, both Thumper who sniffs his way along the beach and Charles, using a somewhat more deliberate approach reach the same point. Thumper barking wildly and wagging his tail and Charles calling over the top, "Here, I'm sure we've found a trail used by the fauna of this island." He waits for you all to gather round and leading the way, both Charles and Thumper start your journey into the island. You make your way, through the dark and scaled barks of the trees, making the most of the shade as you can in this baking island. You see Charles' falcon fly through the forest, sometimes above the trees, before hovering and then diving majestically to the ground, enjoying once more its time on land. Four times you see it climb into the sky, before resting on the bough of a tree, ripping into the flesh of some small animal with its beak, as it holds the dead prey in its strong talons. The bird is never gone long from the group.

As you move forward through the green leaves, trees, bushes and flora Charles stops occasionally pointing out fruits along the way.
Anyone wanting to collect fruit from the trees, make a max of 4 climb checks, and 4 dex checks, (one pair for each tree).
You pick some dark blue coloured berries that Charles pointed out, though they are not the juiciest, they taste sweet and refreshing.

You hear the sounds of the forest, the birds singing, many giving shrill shrieking warning calls to the rest of the ensemble of feathered friends, as Charles' hawk flies by. Large black spiders crawl out of your way over the golden dried leaves that litter the floor, some almost as big as your hands. There is a scuttering sound, as small furry red and yellow rodents run from the sound of your footsteps.

You travel through clearings in the forest, where the sun beats down, on green lush grass, waving up towards the sun in the breeze.

As you move through one such clearing, Charles stops stooping he puts his hand on and carefully studies the ground and checks the trail.
Perception checks please, all except Charles.
As for placing you in the clearing, you have Charles and Thumper leading you(row 1), you may either be row 1, row 2 or row 3, where 2 is behind 1, etc..Let me know...or if you want to be hiding in the trees right behind..(cowhard!!) Let me know what weapon you are carrying to catch the game. As I expect you to be moving forward as a compact little group of hunters.

Lysandra:

This a bit of a clearing, you can be hanging back a bit in the trees, 20ft or so behind the party, with Harry, be in the front row with your whip ready or take another position.

If you want any info, use your bardic knowledge as appropriate, if you need it before anything kicks off. I won't ask for general requests that you might want to know, I'll leave it up to you.

Charles:

The first round of any action, you are considered prone whilst using the survival skill to do the tracking, kneeling on one knee, weapons away as you use both hands to move the grass around and follow the way, you have been doing this every so often as you follow the trail, confident that the others will protect you and confident in your own ability to look after yourself....with your 19 earlier you were the only one in the party capable of following the trail. You think you are much closer behind the animals you are tracking.

Harry:

You can hang back if you like, 20ft from the main party.

If you need to discuss how the party tramps through the forest, then do so on the discussion thread if you want

Charles is once more in his tracking pose, kneeling on one knee, hands shifting grass one way and the other, feeling the soil and concentrating on following his trail. You stand in a 50ft round clearing, sort of middlish, in green grass about 1-2ft high.

Sorry about the bits and drabs of this, I can see it in my minds eye, putting it down on 'paper' is another matter.

Back in time to the journey here...
Jaali, Lysandra's little monkey was clever enough to collect one tree's worth of fruit on the way over, but did insist on eating two of the big green and blue melon type fruits, so now Jaali's belly fur smells sickly sweet with pips matted into her fur. Jaali is seen, smiling juice running from down the chin...the contented monkey, plays with you, her sticky hands seem everywhere.

Lysandra:

From her seafaring days, she might know how to navigate with the stars and know the rough location of the ship from her knowledge of the seas, that sort of thing. She's well traveled and has probably stopped off at other islands, whilst her father and crew went for to hunt fresh game, get fruit and fresh water. She might not know specifically this island, but could generalise from what she knows of other islands. I assume she has been on other similar islands in her travels....

Knowledge of the main shipping lanes, tales and myths of the seas...I'll leave you to ask the questions...I may not give you the answer, but I'm sure you know more that might help the party.

You can also use your Profession(sailor) to help with knowledge too, with what sailors know....much like above....

You know that typically this sort of island is not inhabited by natives, though that doesn't mean other humanoids don't visit it for hunting or other activities. This sort of island is rich in animals because of that and would be used by ships masters to replenish stores for the journey. You don't know where the island is at the moment.
