Dren of the Dark Tapestry |

Now that we know a little more about the creature Dren cast the following additional spells:
Resist Energy Communal 30/Cold on everyone 30 minutes
Shield of Faith +4 on himself, Extended to 30min.
Freedom of Movement on himself. 150minutes
True Seeing on himself, extended 30 minutes
Air Walk Communal on anyone that can not fly. (Edmin, his dog, Jax?, and Dren)
Sacred Bond on Ulp 150 minutes

Judge Tohram Quasangi |

I will take Air Walk as well. I can fly, but it is either in Gaseous Form or in the form of a Giant (Dire?) Bat. Pretty sure that I cannot cast spells in either form.
-----
Not sure what all spells have been cast, but the Judge would have cast:
Arcane Concordance before the buffing started. This should allow all the spells to be cast with Extend Spell, thus doubling the durations of all the arcane buffs.
This is a minor Retcon, but is something that the Judge would have done, I just had not started posting at that point.

Douglas Muir 406 |
Ulp, there is indeed a large chamber opening off to the right. And as you glide silently through the entrance, something stirs.
There's a translucent puddle of... something... on the floor of this chamber. It's big, whatever it is -- at least ten yards across. At your approach, it begins to slowly congeal together. A thick column of the thing's substance rises out of the pool and moves towards you. As it approaches, it splits into three or four thick, fingerlike protuberances, like a crude, grasping hand at the end of a boneless arm.
This counts as a surprise round. Both sides can perceive each other, so both can act. To speed things along, I'll roll initiative for both: Ulp 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 whatever 1d20 ⇒ 16

Douglas Muir 406 |
Okay, Ulp -- it has grabbed you. Its flesh is like cold jelly, and you can feel something like a million tiny mouths leeching your life away.
You take 8d6 + 19 ⇒ (5, 6, 5, 4, 4, 2, 4, 4) + 19 = 53 points of damage, and you also suffer 1d4 ⇒ 2 points of Con drain.
It's still the surprise round, so only Ulp can act. The rest of you can roll initiative and suggest actions for Round 1.

Judge Tohram Quasangi |

Ulp - don't forget you should have Resist Energy 30 from Dren.
-------
Init: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31 <-- yeh, the Judge is REALLY fast.
Knowledge(dungeoneering): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 <-- if not dungeoneering, all other knowledge skills are higher

Ulp |

Dm I cannot be detected by anythingn due to my mythic ability on my armor. Not life sense not tremor sense or blind sense.

Ulp |

I mean perception can detect me per usual. With invisibility
But assuming that it had a mythic ability as well or an alarm or something. Let's just play! True seeing could have as well
Ulp activates his boots of lightning leaping and turns into a lightning bolt that rockets through the creature and deposits him, now visible 40 feet on the other side dealing 6d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 4, 2, 2) = 17 damage
you dare challenge the blood of dragons!. Ulp snarls in draconic.

Dren of the Dark Tapestry |

Initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Ulp, if you want to continue to be connected through the Sacred Bond you need to stay within 75' of Dren, otherwise my connection with you is severed. Since this is the first combat with these characters you know you have this on you and the limitation.
Also could everyone add a 100gp gold bracelet to your equipment. I had one made for each of you in case I want to cast the same spell on you.

Jax Naismith |

Initiative: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Anyone have any idea what that thing is?
Knowledge(Dungeoneering): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Jax draws his blade and casts an Intensified Empowered Shocking Grasp, holding the charge.

Ulp |

Only ulp got surprise jax

Douglas Muir 406 |
Ulp activates his boots of lightning leaping and turns into a lightning bolt that rockets through the creature and deposits him, now visible 40 feet on the other side dealing 6d6 damage
you dare challenge the blood of dragons!. Ulp snarls in draconic.
First the bad news: the thing is so colossal that you're still within reach, and it moves before you next round.
Now the good news: it did *not* like the lightning. Its bizarre flesh sizzles and bubbles where you passed through it.

Douglas Muir 406 |
It's some kind of gigantic ooze. Note that the big ones often split if you damage them, and may have various sorts of weird abilities.
Another Knowledge check: 1d20 ⇒ 18 Oh ho. Okay, during the long winter nights in the Vale of Valtaerna, in between feasting on the valley's helpless inhabitants, you and Zimu settled down to do some reading in the great Library there. You were curious about the Yutak, and found a collection of their stories and tales, recorded by a missionary priest of Mitra some years back.
This is the thing known to Yutak legend as Kishkakotok, literally the "ravenous ice" or the "hungry white". The Hungry White was a naturally invisible carnivorous blob that emerged from the sunless lands to cut a swath of terror and death. The Yutak legend said that a great shaman defeated the affliction by praying to the Thunderbird to call down its lightning.
Whatever lives deeper in the cairn is presumably unconcerned about the presence of the Hungry White inside its front door. Hm.

Judge Tohram Quasangi |

The Judge speaks to nobody in particular.
Supposedly it is called the Kishkakotok, which means "hungry white" or "ravenous ice", by the locals. Rumor has it that some shaman defeated it by praying to some local deity called the Thunderbird, which sent down lightning.
The Judge continues to peer into the gloom at the monstrosity.
One this big could split into multiple parts if attacked. Probably has other strange abilities, but who knows what. Most of these things are mindless killers, and really hard to kill.
The Judge smirks: Sounds sort of like what I would see in a mirror, if I could see myself in a mirror.

Jax Naismith |

Only ulp got surprise jax
I read that..and then somehow forgot it while posting. *facepalm*
Round 1
Jax will fly forward and channel a blast of powerful electricity through his sword. As he flies, he'll enchant his weapon with even more power.
Lightning? We can do Lightning!
Swift Action: Brink becomes a +4 Shock Shocking Burst scimitar
Free action, enact Lunge for -2 AC and +5' reach
1d20 + 25 ⇒ (5) + 25 = 30 to hit for 1d6 + 21 ⇒ (3) + 21 = 24 physical damage, 2d6 ⇒ (6, 2) = 8 electricity damage[/dice] and 15d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 6, 1, 2, 2, 2, 1, 2, 5, 6, 3, 6, 5) = 47 electricity damage from the Intensified Empowered Shocking Grasp.

Judge Tohram Quasangi |

Then the Judge moves down from his perch to get in front of the creature.
I think you magic types need to destroy this. Of course I have learned some tricks along the way.
Move: Move to get in front of the rest of the party, but preferable out of its reach.
Standard: Cast Shadow Evocation to mimic Ball Lightning.
--> CL15 creates 4 balls, these will begin directly above/in the same square as the ooze.
--> Will DC23 to disbelieve (results in only 20% damage if disbelieved.
--> Reflex DC23 negates damage from the balls.
Damage(ball 1): 3d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 5) = 12 - DC23 Reflex negates
Damage(ball 2): 3d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3) = 11 - DC23 Reflex negates
Damage(ball 3): 3d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4) = 10 - DC23 Reflex negates
Damage(ball 4): 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 1) = 11 - DC23 Reflex negates

Dren of the Dark Tapestry |

Dren grins as he summons forth his Rod of Quicken as a free action from his gloves of storing.
He then casts Prayer on the party and beast including Ulp if he changed his action to be back by us and not end the Sacred Bond as a swoft action. He then summons a blade barrier of force to bisect the creature and cut it to pieces.
Prayer +1 on just about everything for us, -1 on the creatures everything.
If it has SR I will need to punch it
BBarrier 15d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 5, 1, 4, 4, 2, 2, 1, 4, 1, 2, 1, 6, 1) = 41 DC 25 Reflex Save sucky damage
Blade Barrier followed by Prayer.
Ulp did you see my post I would imagine you would end up on our vs. ending the Sacred Bond on the other side of the beast?
After using it the rod then goes back into storage as a free action.
Spell Pen if needed 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23

Douglas Muir 406 |
Lunge isn't going to help you against a 30' reach. AoO!
1d20 + 21 ⇒ (13) + 21 = 34 and you're... AC 37. Close, but no banana; you dodge and whirl around the thing's grasping tentacle and slam Brink into it.
Oh, man, it really HATED that. It makes a horrible bubbling sound and writhes and flails, a vast undulating carpet of translucent flesh.

Ulp |

just wait till it meets 5 lightning Bombs

Ulp |

1d4 ⇒ 2 Ulp takes a restoration lesser extract

Ulp |

Stupid creatures. Ulp need more protection. Ulp chugs down Ablative Barrier, Blur, Shield, Alcehmical Allocation (then bears endurance), Bloodhound and a CLW potion.
1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Then he turns invisible and is ready to move again.
buffs added.
He sneaks ahead again, this time his stealth is 58 (and
ability to become utterly undetectable while invisible.
While invisible and in physical contact with this
item, the bonded creature can’t be detected or
scryed by any method.
And his perception is 28 +8 if it has to do with smell, and he has scent

Judge Tohram Quasangi |

The Judge stands staring at the bubbling pool that was formerly the ooze.
Useless thing. Not intelligent. No blood. What a waste.
He then looks to the others.
Lets get done with this. I want to return to the south with its warm bodies.

Edmin Al'Roth |

Edmin gives a lopsided grin to the judge."You are looking a little pale. My dog is still off limits."

Edmin Al'Roth |

Edmin shrugs as he turns back the way they came. "More than likely. He is touched by Hell."

Judge Tohram Quasangi |

The Judge ignores Edmin's response:
Where did that miniature lizard go anyway? I assume we are going to have to save his draconic skin again when he falls in a pit or gets trapped by some lich cursed trap.

Ulp |

I am lightning incarnate bloodsucker. It would have been reduced to char in short order.. Ulp says as he keeps drinking down bus various bottles.

Edmin Al'Roth |

Edmin glances towards the sound of Ulp's voice and shakes his head. "Where do you put all of that liquid Kobold? You must have Hollow legs."

Ulp |

Power of dragon.
Two vials appear in the air towards Edmin, Judge and Jax.
You take these. Potion of Bears Endurance, Cats Grace CL 6

Ulp |

yes moving forward. I adjusted my extracts and took a minute to make the regular restoration. Down to 2400 diamond dust

Douglas Muir 406 |
The passage continues SW for about 100 feet, gradually curving around southwards; it seems to be following the curvature of outside of the cairn (roughly circular). After a bit you pass another side chamber, similar to the one where the Hungry White was lurking. You're more careful now... but this place seems, even to your advanced senses, to be empty.
It's filled with bones, though. Humanoid bones, very old looking. Hundreds, maybe thousands of skeletons' worth. At one time it appears they were stacked and packed neatly -- skulls here, femurs over there, and so forth. But some have been disturbed from their neat arrangement and lie scattered upon the floor.
It's cold and silent and dark in here, and you don't see, hear or smell anything of interest.

Jax Naismith |

You bicker like little girls, Judge, Edmin.
Wiping burnt ooze from his blade and wrinkling his nose at the smell, Jax looks over his shoulder and calls Zoren back into the room while scolding Brink. "Zoren come here. Brink...you're a weapon, stop complaining about me attacking things without blood."
Jax already has a +6 enhancement to Con and Dex
"Hey, Edmin...want to send Ragnar to go fetch a bone? I bet you a hundred gold there's something lurking underneath all of those. That, or they'll turn into some creepy bone golem....hmn. Maybe we should avoid that room."

Judge Tohram Quasangi |

Only problem with Bear's Endurance is that the Judge does not have a Con score. He already has +4 Dex enhancement from his belt, so not a lot of use. Pretty sure that Edmin is already +6 on his Con, could probably use the Dex boost though. Although I am not sure if it would help with his armor.
The Judge looks at the piles of bones.
Strange that they appear to have been organized at some point. Then someone, or more likely something, disrupted the organization.
Knowledge(history): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16 <-- any clue about something way back when that might have produced this many bones?
