You guys proceed forward to the small chamber with the statue. The red marble statue is of a strikingly beautiful but, at the same time, monstrously enraged human woman. She wears flowing robes, and her long hair is held back from her face by an intricate headdress of hooks and blades. In her left hand she carries a large book, the face of which is inscribed with a seven-pointed star. Her right hand holds a glittering metal-and-ivory ranseur. There doesn't appear to be anything of note in the room, beyond the door to the north and passage with ascending stairs to the east.
Knowledge History check to know who that is.

Elaina Newberry |

"I've heard stories about people renovatin' their houses and finding entire cities under their town. That lady must have been president of their ancient book club." Not yet ready to head in an upwardly direction, Elaina tries the northern door.

Nover Romux |

Nover looks at the statue. The weapon looked different than the stone. Perhaps it could be wielded by a party member.
"Mind if I try taking the weapon? It might be worth something."
-Posted with Wayfinder

Elaina Newberry |

"It could be a trap, we should find something to replace the weapon with." Elania focuses on the statue, trying to discern if it's magical.
Use detect magic on the room.

Enna |

Enna stares at the odd statue for a few moments.... History: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 and shrugs at the whole thing.

Elaina Newberry |

While we wait for Nover to take the weapon can I check it for traps? I'm worried it's gonna come alive...Take ten on perception for 15.
Before Nover tries to steal the statues stuff, Elaina looks the statue over for non-magical triggers.

Nover Romux |

"Satisfies with your search? I think I'll be taking this now."
Nover fiddles with the ransier until is comes out. He wasn't trying to break the statue.

Nover waits a minute while Elaina gives the statue a quick once-over. She nods to him, and he works the ranseur free with little trouble. It is truly a masterful weapon, well-balanced and still sharp after however many centuries it has been sitting here in the gloom.
Zella at this point, having been looking mildly sick, speaks up. "That monstrosity in the other room has unnerved me, my friends. I think I had best go up and clear my head, see if I really want to sort these things out after that." With that, she departs towards the entrance to the smugglers' tunnel.

Enna |

"Well isn't this just great, are we sure are ready for this?
"[b] Enna does not seem pleased at all with the current state of the group or the surroundings they find themselves in. [b]"I am guessing we will need to push through this complex as quickly as we can before we lose any more of us."

Elaina Newberry |

"She's just worried about our baby, it's ok. Let's keep going' so Nover can test out his new weapon!"

Nover Romux |

Feeling the weight of the ranseur Nover sighs.
"I want to keep using this hammer, but I feel like I need to use this to keep enemies at bay. Maybe I should try fighting like this, if I don't like it we can always sell this weapon or return it here."
-Posted with Wayfinder

Elaina Newberry |

"Yeah but you can stab better with it when the cave's to small to swing your hammer." Elaina demonstrates proper stabbing technique with her scimitar.

Enna |

Enna waits less than patiently, arms crossed in a vaguely pointed way that could be construed asa vote for the door.

Nover Romux |

"Hmm, door or stairs? Should we let luck decide? Heads we head through that door, tails we go down the stairs. Seem fair enough?"
Nover fishes a copper piece from his pocket and flips the coin letting it fall to the ground. on a 1d2 1= head, 2 = tails
Coin Flip: 1d2 ⇒ 1
The coin flips end over end before landing in his palm. Flipping the coin to his wrist he reveals... Heads. Nover points to the door.
"What say you all that we go that way?"

DM Crispy |

You open the door and find yourself on the edge of a wooden platform. This large chamber was once a prison, as indicated by the twenty cells around the room's perimeter. The platform you are about to step on overlooks the room, with stairs leading down from the eastern and western sides. A narrow walkway extends from the current platform to chambers to the east.
Two disgusting horrors, much like the previous one, are in the southeastern corner of the room, bickering over something. They look up as the door opens, hissing in menace.

Sinspawn: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
The two creatures move forward quickly, slashing down at Nover with ranseurs they are wielding. Nover avoids the second blow, but the first attack finds a crease in his armor, sinking deeply.

I will ready an attack to hit one of the monsters should it come into range.

Enna |

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 Yet another ineffective slpat somewhere past her opponents. Vowing to come up with better magic, Enna steels her resolve.

DM Crispy |

Togog grants Nover a blessing to enable him to hit better, imploring him to move forward to allow more folks access.
Enna futilely tries to make her acid spell work better.
Elaina gets ready to attack something, should it come near her.
Nover, lunges forward, skewering one of the sinspawn with his newly-acquired ranseur. The hit is quite gruesome, but the thing just hisses at the burly dwarf.
The sinspawn then attack. Able to use their bite now that they are closer to the dwarf, they manage to get in each others' way, leaving the dwarf unscathed.

Nover Romux |

Sorry, been a busy day, had both jobs.
Nover drops his ransuer and steps forward swinging his gauntlet covered fists.

"HAHA, TASTE MY FIST YOU VILE DEMONS!"
Okay, so 5ft step and bring my fist down with 14 to 1 with my fist, and 5 to the next or if I didn't drop the one I stabbed last round 19 to one... luckiest dwarf ever.

Togog Treesplitter |

I step and turn, placing my back to my cousin's, slashing at the disengaged hellspawn with my axe. "Die, fiend," I snarl, "Angradd's regards to your foul master."
Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Crit Damage 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Enna |

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Enna gives up on the idea of combat itself and re-purposes her mind towards the pursuit of more useful avenues of aiding her friends, swearing to herself that she will find some way to help people that does not require the conjuration of magic projectiles that she actually has to aim.
Can not wait till I get some useful spells and can one hit most encounters, on that day I will be able to laugh at the dismal failure that is the low level caster.

DM Crispy |

Togog waits a second to see if Nover will oblige him and move into the room.
Enna again finds nothing but wall with her acid spell, possibly because she is ruminating on the day when she is super-awesome.
Elaina gets ready, in case a foe decides to close with her.
Nover steps forward, reverting to a puncher's stance as he drops the valuable ranseur like so much garbage. And perhaps he has a point, as fist one completely caves in the skul of one of the creatures, and fist two does a good job on the second.
Togog, delighted his cousin moved in, moves up himself, connecting with a sickening 'crack' on the creature. It remains upright, for the moment, determined to bring Nover down. It has a moral success, as its ranseur bites into Nover's side, leaving a moderately deep gash.
Ranseur: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Damage: 2d4 + 1 ⇒ (3, 2) + 1 = 6
Bite: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (11) - 2 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Nover, take 6. Party up! Finish him! (Didn't update the map)

Nover ducks under the ransuer in order to engage the creature again.
"You will not get away from me, I will chase you to the four corners of the world if I have to!"

Elaina Newberry |

"You dwarves are takin' up all the space I can't do nothin'!"

Elaina Newberry |

Sure, I'll stay close in case a space opens up.
"I wanna ride on one of you guys' shoulders. I think it could work."

Elaina Newberry |

Ooh, OK. I'll try something then.
Acrobatics to avoid AOO vs sinspawns CMD: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Well that probably isn't high enough.
Elaina tries to move past Nover to strike the creature but its overpowering ugliness causes her to pause in range of its weapon.
"Ewww. I hope these things don't have moms to disappoint."

Elaina Newberry |

"Hah! You fell for my plot!" Elaina springs her trap and swings at the monster.
Scimitar Arcane strike 18–20/×2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Magic Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
I know how you feel, Enna. Soon, no amount of dwarves standing in my way will be able to stop me.

DM Crispy |

Somehow, the creature still remains standing after a flurry from the party. It doesn't question it's good fortune, continuing to attack Nover.
Ranseur: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Damage: 2d4 + 1 ⇒ (3, 3) + 1 = 7
Bite: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Being the wretched abomination that it is, it fails to hit the dwarf again.
Party up!

Elaina Newberry |

If it's still up on my turn.
Ever frustrated, Elaina spins dramatically and tries again to hit the monster with her glowing sword.
Scimitar Arcane strike 18–20/×2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Magic Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Nover Romux |

Nover looks at his bloody fists before closing his eyes and calming down.
I hate it when that happens. The battlerage, some gift.
Kicking one of the ransuers away from the hands of the vile creature, Nover wipes his gauntlets on his pants.
"I needed a new pair of pants anyway. Perhaps I should buy some of the fancier ones with spikes on them. These seem to be my go to weapon when something like conventional weapons fail me."
He picks up his nicer weapon off the floor and readies to move forward.

Togog Treesplitter |

"Well fought, cousin," I congratulate him. "Battle may be madness and senselessness, but in Angradd's sight retain your senses. We are more than goblinoid or giant beasts. We are Dwarves."
I step past him, kneeling to consecrate and search the bodies of the sinspawned filth...
