Nover Romux |

Still calm and clear-headed, Nover moved forward to strike the creature. It was not willing to parley so neither was he.

"Maybe he wants to be friends! He looks like he wants a hug."
Two squares SE(If up is north), two squares east, one square NE.
Elaina hurries to dispense hugs, determined not to be blocked from the fun once again by the dwarves.

Shh, no one notices I forgot to post. Just going to insert this here.

Elaina darts forward, determined not to be left out of this combat. As she skirts around the creature, its head darts forward, attempting to bite the blond woman. The creature's fang dig in deep, eliciting a short scream from the dancing bard.

Togog moves into the room, but just can't quite reach the melee yet. He groans in frustration at his race's slow but steady pace.
Nover moves up, lining up a strike. He ensures he hits, trading power for accuracy as his warhammer lands on the bare chest of the beast with a dull 'thud'.
Enna flings a glob of acid into the melee, with typical results.
Zella moves into the room, trying to position herself where she can take a shot at the creature.
Meanwhile, the creature seems intent of the dwarf before it, trying to land both claws and its bite against the sturdy man. Nover's thick armor protects him from the foul bite and one claw, but another set of talons rakes it way across for a stinging hit.

Actually, Elaina, get those HP back. Mr. Bad Guy was flat-footed when you charged in all willy-nilly, so he didn't get an AOO. He still doesn't want hugs, though.
Elaina tries to give the creature another friendly slap, and nearly slaps herself in the process.
Now that Nover has a gauge of how hard the creature is to hit, he winds up and CRACK goes the hammer on the thing's head, splitting it apart to rain goo on both him and Elaina.
Combat Over!

Nover Romux |

Coming down from his short-lived rage, Nover breathes a sigh of relief. Then gasps about the amount of blood spilled on his armor.
"I'm just glad the creature didn't do any lasting damage. A nice scratch, but that'll heal. Is everybody else alright?"

Elaina Newberry |

"Some demon army. Our epic tale of our story to defend Sandpoint won't be very epic. Maybe things will get deadlier the deeper we go. That is how it goes, right?" Elaina looks at the various dwarves expectantly.

Nover Romux |

sorry been a busy weekend. This is the first chance I've really gotten to post anything.
Nover looks for a door that leads out of the kidney shaped room.
"Togog, unless you are one of the deep tunnel warriors I doubt you would know much about these kinds of creatures. Well except that this one is clearly dead. Anybody got any idea as to how we continue?"

Elaina Newberry |

Elaina gently pushes Nover back into the tunnel. "Let's go let's go I'm gettin' hungry."

Nover Romux |

Nover takes the hint and begins to move down the tunnel. Shield out and keeping an eye out for traps.

Togog Treesplitter |

I follow close behind my cousin, my eye tight upon his path and footsteps. If trap or ambush awaits us, I mean not to let him step into it unaware.
Readied action to cast 'guidance' upon Nover in at the first sign of trouble.

Elaina Newberry |

"Can dwarves swim?" Elaina wonders loudly as they explore.

DM Crispy |

The group, led by Nover, inches its way down the main tunnel after finding nothing of interest in the kidney shaped room beyond its monstrous inhabitant.
Proceeding about fifteen feet down the tunnel, there is an opening to the east that leads about thirty feet to an area of worked stone that is or was clearly a chamber of some sort. It appears filled with rubble in the dim lighting.
Further down, you see another passage branching off to the east from the main passage.

Enna |

Enna follows along with the group, brushing off Elaina's shallow racism without comment.

Nover Romux |

Sorry, best buddies birthday was yesterday and we went to the zoo.
Nover brushes the notion of somebody else being out in danger. With his words he give
"No Togog. I will continue to take point, that axe of yours prevents you from carrying a bit of extra protection. And while you have your faith, I still put a bit more trust in something solid."
Looking back at the bard Nover winks.
"Not in my armor, but I can a swim. Never tell that to a saltbeard though. They'll give you a hook hand for saying that."

Togog Treesplitter |

"Best we explore the side-chamber first," I murmur. "Our advance must be swift, but only a fool would leave their flank exposed." I pause. "Be cautious. Seems the ceiling may be none too stable there."
As usual, advancing making perception checks on the stone and stonework, looking out for traps and so forth
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24... bleh, that should be 23 normal, 25 for stonework.

Nover Romux |

I agree. We check the side passage to make sure nothing gets the drop on us.
Nover looks around carefully, for any signs of a trap, movement, or secret doors.

"How did I miss that," I mutter. "Be wary. Sorcery most foul may be at work here, and not merely in its goblin stench." I lower myself to my knees, kneeling beside the door, ear pressed against it, listening intently.

Nover Romux |

It was his idea to move slowly but to Nover, it was... a bit unexciting.
"Step aside cousin. When everybody is ready Ill open the door. Let me know when to open it."
-Posted with Wayfinder

Elaina Newberry |

Elaina bounces around impatiently. "Open it. Open it!"

Nover Romux |

Nover opens the door readying his shield against whatever could be inside.
"Let's do this."

DM Crispy |

The open door resolves into a short hallway that turns 90 degrees to the left. After reaching the turn, it goes about another thirty feet before turning back right (north). There is a passage to the right branching off after ten feet, and what looks to be a chamber of some sort about thirty feet ahead.

Togog Treesplitter |

"This passage kinks to allow for that chamber," I murmur, as we pass down the hall, "rather than continuing straight and building the chamber here." I pause. "Thus inferring that something of particular value lay there which they wished to excavate." I half-smirk. "It's an open book, to a Dwarf. We should investigate."
Rather than continuing to declare them, can we assuming I'm making the free active perception checks regarding stonework that dwarves are entitled to?

Elaina Newberry |

"How has Sandpoint not collapsed into the ocean? This cliff is hollow." Elaina bounces ahead towards the chamber.
Per: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Nover Romux |

Looking at the stonework Nover shrugs.
"Perhaps the caverns are structurally sound enough that the town needn't worry unless say a powerful earthquake struck the town. Unlikely as it is it could happen. Let's keep moving forward and be ready for anything. After that [i[thing[/i] it's anybodies guess as to what could be down here."

DM Crispy |

As you continue down the hall, you see that the first turn to the right is a fairly long hallway that ultimately begins to turn right. Ahead, you see that the next chamber attaches to the unworked cavern you entered from. In the chamber to the right, you can make out the very front of what appears to be a statue of some sort.
