Elaina Newberry |

"This is a hallway of disappointment. I was expecting Ameiko to be behind one of these doors." Elaina hugs the left wall and peeks around the corner.
Move forward five feet, look around the left corner.

If that way looks clear, do the same with the right corner.

Enna |

So North is to the right, got ya.
Enna follows along with the group as it makes its way through the glassworks. "I suggest we come up with a plan for ecploration. As we have been pushing north first and then west we should continue this pattern, until such time as we have covered the whole north western side of this building. We can then push across to the southern side and sweep the whole building."

Elaina Newberry |

"Suuuuure, that sounds great." Elaina slides past Herri and tries the next door. This lady dwarf seems kinda serious and grouchy. Boring.

Nover Romux |

Nover nods to Enna. A plan was something that would be helpful at the moment.
I'm no tactician but having her move forward to open doors would be best then having me follow up by going through to face whatever may be inside.
"I agree with Enna, Ms. Elaina would you be so kind as to open the door, I'll head in as soon as you do so you are not hurt by traps or ambushes. That being said you should still examine the door for traps."

Zelladanyia |

Zella heads towards the north door with the others and waits for them to open it.
"So, just to check, it really isn't normal for this place to be so empty during the day, right? I mean, we saw smoke, so you think that would mean someone would be in here, but we haven't seen or heard anyone yet."

DM Crispy |

The door opens up into a room with a eastern set of double doors, a western set of double doors, a door set against the southern wall, and a single door to the north. A wheelbarrow rests against the eastern wall, and most of the wall space contains shelving with jars of different kinds of powders. A safe rests on the floor next to the southern door, it's door open.

Enna |

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Enna speaks in a hushed tone, "Shh, they sound like they are behind that door there." she points at the double doors to the west as she speaks."surprise assault should catch them off guard and allow us a distinct advantage.”

Elaina Newberry |

Per: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Elaina draws her scimitar. "If there's monsters in there, I can make some of them sleep so we don't accidentally blow up Ameiko if she's with them."

Nover Romux |

Getting as close as he can to the doors Nover readies his hammer. He is willing to trust in the new dwarf, she didn't seem like the kind to make things up for attention.
"Ms. Enna we are trusting your ears on this one, when you open the door I'll barrel into them and see if I can cause some panic. If you can get a spell of sleep off first feel free, but I will be in the fray."

Elaina Newberry |

"I'll kick the door down. Don't get caught in my mysticisms, Nover." Without waiting for a response, Elaina throws the double doors open. "Ameiko!"
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 10

DM Crispy |

A furnace burns along the southeast wall of this room, with various slots to accommodate different temperatures for tempering glass. It's hard to tell how many people worked here, but an approximate guess would be 7-10. It's hard to guess, because pieces of human bodies lie strewn about the room, seemingly slaughtered. Eight sets of beady red goblin eyes look up from their gruesome play at the shout for Ameiko, and they giggle and shriek. "More play things!"
Elaina Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Nover Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Zella Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Herri Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Enna Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Goblins Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
You all will get a surprise round (Standard or Move only), then initiative will be:
Goblins, Herri, Nover, Zella, Enna, Elaina
Sorry about the map, folks. The Paizo people apparently thought large, irregularly shaped rooms were 'cool'.

Nover Romux |

Nover moves 20ft into the room cutting off a clear path from the front leaving only the side open, unfortunately for any goblin moving through, it was the side where his warhammer could swing in a wide arc.
"I'll help clear a path, we should use arrows or magic to get the ones on the other side. Ready? Let's do this.
P16, it makes a choke point, if anything wants to attack a party member atm it has to move through my threatened squares, and it gives me decent maneuverability. Unfortunately we haven't found out the thing that goblins hate writing, an arcane mark spell in goblin could provide some comedic relief.

Enna |

Would put the goblin right out of my acid splash range wouldn't you.
Enna's eyes flare to life like green gems caught in firelight. Her hands move and she speaks in the language of the angel's.
Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Elaina Newberry |

"Oooh, that's a lot of goblins. Let's dance with them!" Elaina spins in to her combat dance, happy she wasn't wearing her dancing outfit and had armor on for this confrontation with goblins.
Bless 10/10; Performance 6/6

DM Crispy |

Herri calls upon the blessings of Iomedae, enhancing everyone's attacks.
Nover moves forward into the room, setting himself up as an obstacle to any goblins wanting to reach his more squishy companions.
Zella sheathes her sword and draws a more appropriate weapon.
A magical missile springs forth from Enna's hand to slam into the closest goblin to the door.
Elaina begins to spin into her complex, slashing dance.
Surprise Round Summary:
Goblin (black) took 3 damage
--------------------------------------
Round 1:
The goblins whoop and holler, advancing on the party. Most wield the cruel, rusty weapons from their attack on the town, but a couple (red & green) wield tongues that appear to be coated in molten glass, smoke trailing them as they cackle and move towards you.
The closest goblin (black) shrieks in rage at the magical projectile, charging forward to slash at the spinning woman. His murderous rage puts strength behind his attack, and he buries the dogslicer deep into Elaina's gut before she can pull away.
Dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
The three next closest (yellow, teal, and red) advance on the lone dwarf, thinking him easy pickings. Nover's armor wards off the steel of the first two goblins, but he feels molten glass on his weapon hand as the last goblin gets in a lucky strike.
yellow dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
teal dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Red Tongs (vs touch): 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (16) - 2 = 14
Burns!: 1d4 ⇒ 4
The other four goblins start shuffling towards the party, cackling and grinning, some kicking various human body parts out of the way.
Crit Confirm on Elaina?: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Party Up!
goblin (black) - 3
Elaina - 7
Nover - 2 fire

Nover Romux |

The burn from the tongs was rather annoying, but keeping a cool head the warrior turned his warhammer to the goblin and met air. Apparently the burn had thrown off his swing.
Warhammer: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 91d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
"Goblins and their love of fire, this should end well."
I thought I had myself where the yellow goblin was so I could hit anything that moved toward the party. That map was tiny.

Nover Romux |

The goblin charging Elaina has one more thing to worry about than the lightly armored bard.
"I hope you like the taste of metal you scum!"
AoO Warhammer: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 261d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 202d8 + 6 ⇒ (8, 5) + 6 = 19 Total 23 damage... I think I saved her some pain as it charged right into a swinging warhammer... the new goblin face shaped dent probably is what threw off my swing lol.

Zelladanyia |

Zella lets an arrow fly towards one of the goblins.
attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 22
damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 = 4
Aiming for either the yellow or red outlined one depending which is still up when she fires her bow. Zella does have Precise Shot so no penalty for shooting in melee.

Elaina Newberry |

Elaina winces as Novers handiwork showers her in goblin blood. "Ewww." She steps up to rescue Nover from the mob surrounding him. Used to practicing against a larger target, the bard continues to struggle to hit the smaller goblins.
Move up to wherever I can hit one of the goblins surrounding Nover.
Arcane Strike: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 10
Non-Lethal Magic Damage: 1d6 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 11
Intimidate if attack hits: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 4 = 18
Bless 9/10; Perform 5/6

Enna |

Enna sands in the back annoyed. With no real target in view, and the whole mess of her new found... friends?... in the way, she finds herself out of her depth. Waiting for an opening or a chance to heal a comrade she takes note of the combat for later tactical analysis.
I hate first level fights, goblins are just small enough to die so easy to fighters and just big enough to laugh off a magic missile or two.

DM Crispy |

Goblins, Herri, Nover, Zella, Enna, Elaina
Herri reaches forward, touching the two human females, infusing them with divine battle rage!
Nover has trouble extricating his hammer from the shattered remains of the goblin that dared to pass him, whiffing on his attempt to hit the goblin in front of him.
Zella fires at the goblin to Nover's right (yellow). She scores a nice hit, the arrow burying deep in the goblin's side. The creature growls at Zella but...
Enna tries to assess the situation and see where her abilities would best compliment the party.
But...Elaina lunges forward in her spinning dance, swiping over the goblin's head as she continues to struggle to hit the small opponents.
The goblin Elaina attacked tries to strike back, growling through the pain of the arrow in its side. It's desperate strike is true, slashing across the dancer's toned right thigh as she tries to dodge aside.
Dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Three goblins now crowd around Nover, threatening to overwhelm him.
Red Tongs: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (18) - 2 = 16
Fire Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Teal Dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Blue Dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
The remaining three goblins take a carefree attitude towards their comrades, picking up shattered glass and throwing it at Nover and Elaina, to no effect.
Party Up!
Status:
Yellow Goblin - 5 damage
Elaina - 4 damage
Nover - 2 damage

Nover Romux |

Surrounded on all sides, Nover tucks his shield in close and reduces the arc of his swing. The one with the tongs was a problem, but he needed for some of the room to get cleared out first.
Warhammer: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 6 - 4 = 41d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
"I'll turtle up for a bit, let's clear some room so we can move about a bit."

Elaina Newberry |

I didn't think they were gonna clump up like that. Silly goblins.
"Eeep! Herri, save me!" Elaina spins dramatically away on her good leg, throwing a handful of multicolored sand into the air over the goblins.
5-foot step down. Cast sleep at top left corner of gray, 10 foot burst, should hit light Blue, Red, Gray, and Teal if they don't move/die. DC 13 will save. Full-round action to cast. Bless 8/10; Perform 4/6

Herri Olderfin |

"Elaina coming! Back away so we can get to them."
Herri casts magic weapon upon his longsword and moves forward longsword and shield to exchange places with Elaina.

Enna |

Enna sees her chance to provide aid and takes it. A green flame leaps forth from her hand as she points at the wounded goblin.... and misses horribly.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Tpk in the glass works seems a sad way to go.

Elaina Newberry |

Did you read our first interaction with goblins? We get pretty bad rolls overall.

DM Crispy |

Herri casts a spell upon his weapon, a holy aura infusing it. He shouts for Elaina to back away so he can take her place.
Nover tucks himself behind his shield and swings blindly at the horde of goblins in front of him. Unsurprisingly, he is unable to connect.
Zella again tries to fire at the goblin she wounded, but this time her aim is off and the shot goes awry.
Enna sees an opportunity and attempts to take it, shooting a gout of green flame at the goblin Zella tagged earlier. In a recurring party theme, she misses horribly, shooting over the beast's head.
Elaina backs away from the goblin who wounded her, throwing a handful of dust in the air while chanting arcane words. Herri is ready, and steps forward to take her place, cutting off the bloodthirsty monster she was facing.
The goblin who had just been facing Elaina spies new blood and swings viciously at the more heavily-armored cleric. Herri easily swats aside the clumsy swing with his magicked longsword.
Dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Meanwhile, the three facing Nover see him take a more defensive posture and practically froth at the mouth at the submissiveness of their foe. Nover's new stance works for him, though, as his shield and armor repel the goblins' vicious attacks.
Red Tongs: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (13) - 2 = 11
Fire Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Teal Dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Blue Dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
The remaining goblins jump about and yell curses at the party.
End of Round 2:
Nover - 5
Elaina - 4
Yellow Goblin - 5
Party Up!
The Law of Averages says that will work out in your favor in the long run. :)

Herri Olderfin |

Herri waits for Elaina to move back at which point he will move in for the attack on the goblin in front of her.
longsword attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 1 + 11 = 17 bless, perform, magic weapon
damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 11

Nover Romux |

The defensive stance, while it does not help him with slaying the goblins, it kept those burning tongs away. Nover continues to turtle up in hopes that someone has a spell to cast or way to clear out another goblin to give him some breathing room.
Defensive Warhammer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 81d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Elaina Newberry |

Balancing one one leg, Elaina flashes Herri a smile as he moves up, seemingly unconcerned with her injury. "My hero!"

Elaina Newberry |

Probably just maintain my current position. If Herri takes a big hit I'll CLW him.
