'I was in a bit of a hurry before I climbed aboard. What's our route down south?' Thurden hopes to draw Kovack into revealing more than he intends.

"A moment if you would. Let the others make their introductions first." He said.


You see a uniformed man, his hair unkempt and his jacket unbuttoned informally enter and sit quickly. He might be otherwise good looking, but he has allowed a couple of days beard to grow without shaving, and had a moody look to him.
Seeming to suddenly recall is manners, he stood and bowed to the Captain.
"Sir, Tybalt Bourchier, Lieutentant of His Majesty's Army of Cheliax, at your service." He said formally before sitting again.
He accepted a perhaps overly full glass of rum.
"Orders to the embassy in Elidar." He said briefly.

You notice by the stitching and weatherstains that his uniform had once born a higher rank; Army Captain or Major at least.


A cheerful gnomish fellow, came in and lept into his seat. He exuded a spry energy as he idly brushed his blond hair and neat goatee. He was VERY well dressed in a Noble Gentlemen's outfit along with tasteful jewelry suggesting a prosperous merchant.

Perception DC20:

Only the ink stains on his fingertips break the illusion of a Noble Gnome.

"Gelik Aberwhinge at your service Captain! I am heading down to Elidar to do a little trading with the locals." He said, accepting a genteel amount of the rum. He sat back with a chuckle.
Sense Motive DC20:

You have the oddest feeling that the 'trade' he intends to make will be a little one sided for his partner.


A rugged Tian man of impressive physique and middling years came in, his greying hair arranged in a pigtail and a perpetually scuffy beard.
His clothing and armor are well kept and clean, but obviously of low quality. Only his sword, a beautiful katana is of any obvious value.
Coming to the table, he gives a respectful bow to the Captain.
"Ishirou." He said briefly, then sat. "Bodyguard." He said, almost as an afterthought.
He waived off the offer of rum.

There on the hilt, on the small silver studding that helps with gripping a sword slippery with blood, the insignia of the Aspis Consortium!

Bellamy came in, escorted by a sailor.
He is a nut-brown half-Kelish man, with a gap-toothed smile, and bizarrely a patch over both eyes.
"Found 'im in the chain locker Cap'n." Whispered the sailor, who then left.
He felt around blindly as he felt around for the chair and sat. He turned his double eyepatched face to and fro, sniffing. A maniacal grin burst across his face.
"Sorry I be a little late, got turned around a bit. But I'm here now!
"Aye, there be a nice drought of rum I can smell, and where there's rum there's Reijo! Ahoy Reijo Boy!"
He said, waiving vigourously in the wrong direction.
"Oh, sorry, I be forgettin' me manners." He said standing again.
Saluting the bulkhead, he bawled out; "'No-Eyes' Bellamy reportin' Captain! Veteran sailor and Gally Cook here!
"Oh, don't mind if'n I do."
He said, accepting a glass of rum.


A good looking woman with tousled red hair and mischievous green eyes strode into the room. Slender and athletic, her friendly grin belied the fancy double interlocking swept hilt rapiers case on her belt.
"I am Sasha Nevah, from Magnimar." She said cheerfully to the Captain, accepting a glass of rum and sitting.

Perception DC15:
You notice at this point that she is missing the pinky finger of her left hand.


An elegantly dressed elf male who was otherwise unremarkable entered and bowed gracefully to the Captain.
"I am Yhendorn Cairora, Apprentice to my Lord Master Sephriel.
"He sends his regrets, but he is not yet acclimated to the motion of the ship and would be poor company tonight.
"He wishes to express confidence that he will be able to attend sometime in the days to come."
He said, then sat.
When offered rum, he reacted as if he had been offered cyanide, and vigorously waived it away.


The Captain nodded.
"And Madame Mavato is also under the weather with the same thing.
"Very well, no sense on waiting for anyone else. I will call for the main course."
He said, reaching out to ring a ships bell sharply.

"Now then, I believe I owe Master Thurden an answer as to our course. It is fairly basic; we'll be following the coast of the Mwangi Expanse south, dodging the Eye of Abendego and around the Shackles to the town of Eledar on the coast of Sargava.
"Not a straight course by any means, but still reasonably safe if we don't cut any corners."

Sunny smiles brightly and nods as each new peson enters, sits at the table and introduces themselves. Offeing the Elf lad an enthusiastic wave as he introduces himself and sits. (^_^)

Still sipping daintily at her mug of Rum she listens intently as the good captain explains their course South. Nodding at his words of explanation. She tilts her head at some of his words.

"This 'Eye a' Abba-den-go'? That be whut people's be callin' tha' rilly big, swirly storm like. Hey?" She asks, looking about at every one else gathered.

"Me Kin? We's got a name fer it... but I dun't right kow tha' words in'a speakin' of tha' peoples." And a blush again creeps up the tanned Elf lass' skin as she acknowledges her ignorance as she hangs her blond mopped head a little.

As the remaining introductions commence, the roguish fellow's eyes becomes fixated on, of course, none other than the lovely red-head as she enters. Smiling as Sasha searches for her seat, Reijo not only stands up to greet her, but does so with a flourish.

"Lovely to meet ye, milady."

Like a proper gentleman, he even pulls out a chair for her, inviting Sasha to be seated beside himself.

Taking note of her... war wound, perhaps... as he does so, the charming sailor's apparent interest seems entirely undaunted.

She also notices Sasha's misfortune; though the young woman's also from Magnimar, Shaedeen puts off chatting with her until Reijo's finished trying to be charming to the redhead. Shae manages a rueful smile upon hearing that she's not the only passenger suffering from seasickness.

The days roll on as the Throaty Mermaid sails on south, mostly with fair winds and good weather.
With the exception of Sasha's friendly (sometimes VERY friendly) relationship with Reijo, the other passengers keep largely to themselves. They give monosyllabic answers when questioned, and two don't leave their cabins at all.
...
One evening, something wakes you out of a sound sleep. You aren't certain at first, then you hear the clash of arms and shouting!

Shaedeen awakens from a rather pleasant dream in which Lieutenant Bourchier, her well-behaved slave, had helped her overthrow House Thrune and installed her as the new undisputed queen of infernal Cheliax. The sound of fighting brings one word to mind: Insurrection!

Rolling out of her bunk, poor Shae's taken unawares as her still-noodley legs buckle and she ends up kissing the wall of her dark cabin. Luckily, she slumps down to the floor next to her footlocker. Fumbling in the dark, the teen manages to get its lid open and fingers through it, feeling for her weapons and armor.

Ahoy, mateys! Since last we gathered, the original Shaedeen got into another Rise of the Runelords campaign (Third time's a charm??!!). Though that game's already on its third GM and we're still stumbling around Sandpoint, GM #3 has recently restarted things. I hope playing two Shaedeens at the same time doesn't mess with my teeny brain and that I can keep their various schemes separate. ;)

Dreams of rum, smoke, and a beautiful redhead with green eyes suddenly transforms into the cries and clangs of combat out in the hall. A naked sailor suddenly jumps out of bed, startling the real redhead beside him from her slumber. Sasha opens a mischevious eye to spot his slender muscular silhouette from the rear in the very dim light.

"Son ov'a finless fish," Reijo decries. He manically searches for his clothes and weapons in the near dark. At last, he finds his pants. Grunting as he loudly bangs his head while trying to get them on, he wonders why they seem so tight this morning.

Silently shushing Sasha as she perks up from the noise and opens her mouth to speak, Reijo opens the door a crack to have a peek. He finds one of the crew dueling a darkly clad figure right outside his room. He kneels down, opens the door a crack more, and squeezes his arm through to grab a foot. Suddenly, he pulls the intruder's leg, trying to trip the hornswaggler...

Stealthily trip the attacker outside Reijo's door (stealth for surprise & catching him flat-footed, hopefully):

Thurden snores loudly in his bunk, already asleep after availing himself of the captain's stock of ale. Slowly, he grumbles himself awake and pounds on the bulkhead between cabins. '[b]Keep it down in there you red barnacle![/b']

The gregarious swashbuckler and his evening companion had kept Thurden up despite his stupor longer than the dwarf had preferred. He rolled over and tugged the blankets tighter.

Thurden will remain in his bunk until I can update his sheet properly tomorrow. Thanks for your patience, everyone.

As the banging and the shouts outside his cabin continue, Thurden's grumbles grow into snarling growls. He flings himself from his bunk and throws open his door, fully expecting to see his hallmates in various compromising positions.

'Could you all pick this up....!' He shouts trailing off. He flings an icicle towards the nearest unfamiliar form.

Belt in hand, Reijo swiftly draws his cutlass from his scabbard. As he twists his blade and slashes down at the assassin, nearby Shaedeen hears the sound of fabric ripping while he swings, and his blade goes wide.

"Oh bloody hells..." he grumbles to himself, grabbing his pants at the waist with his free hand.

Hearing Sunny's cheerful voice down the hall, "Oi Saucy, a fine naked mornin' we're havin', eh?"

Spotting Shaedeen closing in on the assassin before him, "Mornin' love. Fine way ta start yer day, eh?"

Hearing Thurden in the hall at last, "Bout time ye got yer snorin' arse outta bed ta do somethin', Icey Boy!"

Draws cutlass from his belt [move action] then swings at the assassin outside his door [standard]:

Rapier now in hand, Shaedeen opens her door, takes a 5-foot step into the hallway, conveniently finds herself flanking an intruder, and stabs away! She hit the assassin for modest damage.

Sunny laughs merrily as the new person swings and misses.
"Here. That in't any sort a 'Hello'." She replies, as she swung and missed as well.

As the banging and the shouts outside his cabin continue, Thurden's grumbles grow into snarling growls. He flings himself from his bunk and throws open his door, fully expecting to see his hallmates in various compromising positions.
'Could you all pick this up....!' He shouts trailing off.
He flings an icicle towards the nearest unfamiliar form, but missed wildly as the ship heeled.

Reijo barks at Sasha, "Don't just stand there all naked and saucy-like, lass! Toss me me bloody belt!"
Belt in hand, Reijo swiftly draws his cutlass from his scabbard. As he twists his blade and slashes down at the assassin, nearby Shaedeen hears the sound of fabric ripping while he swings, and his blade goes wide.
"Oh bloody hells..." he grumbles to himself, grabbing his pants at the waist with his free hand.
Hearing Sunny's cheerful voice down the hall, "Oi Saucy, a fine naked mornin' we're havin', eh?"
Spotting Shaedeen closing in on the assassin before him, "Mornin' love. Fine way ta start yer day, eh?"
Hearing Thurden in the hall at last, "Bout time ye got yer snorin' arse outta bed ta do somethin', Icey Boy!"
Draws cutlass from his belt then swings at the assassin outside his door. The assassin shifted aside just enough for Reijo to stab the deck instead.

Sasha gave a mad giggle. “Yes Lord Tight Butt!”
Kicking off the back bulkhead, she used Reijo as a springboard to leapfrog him and the assassin, tumbling through the air to land on the far side of the passageway. She yanked the towel from around her (leaving her buck nekkid so to speak), and rolled it up tightly into what was informally known as a “Rat-tail”. She seemed unconcerned with her disadvantage.

Crew 1 vs Assassin 1: 4 + 3 = 7 Miss.
Crew 2 flank vs Assassin 2: 7 + 2 = 9 Miss.
Crew 3 vs Assassin 3: 6 + 3 = 9 Miss.

Assassin 1 vs Nekkid Sunny: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 for a possible 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 damage.
Assassin 2, realizing the danger, goes total defense and acrobatically to a new position. Acrobatics: 15 + 8 = 23
Assassin 3 leapt forward and delivered a flying kick (Bullrush) to Thurden.
Assassin 3 vs Thurden CMD: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 But bounced off Thurden's stocky frame, feeling like he kicked a tree trunk.

(npc) Reijo grinned and rolled out of the cabin and lashed out at the assassin in front of him.

Sasha also lashed out with her improvised whip.
Whip attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 Hit! for minor damage. Assassin 2 looks pissed though.

The rest of the crew backed off, wary of the new combatants.

Assassin 1 rolled out of flank and lashed out at Sunny.

Trapped, Assassin 2 lashed out at Shaedeen.

Holding "his" now slightly torn pants up with a free hand, Reijo grimaces as he very carefully side steps in tight tight pants for a better angle on the assailant assaulting his lovely lady.

Unfortuntely, as he prepares to swing, the sound of more pants tearing can be heard... and his blade goes wide into the wall.

"Bloody hells, love. I'll be acquirin' a new pair fer ye after this mess is done, eh?"

The woman spun around as Thurden’s scythe slashed through her, and she collapsed to the deck bleeding out spectacularly.

Sunny tries again.
Sunny fakes again high as she tries to land a blow. She succeeds in drawing the assassin’s guard high and then striking low, thrusting through her with sneak attack damage as well.
Dam Roll:1d4 ⇒ 3 plus 1d6 ⇒ 4 damage.

With Sunny’s feint, Shaedeen also was able to run her enemy through, dropping her to the deck.

Laughing at Reijo’s antics, Sasha does a surprisingly effective job of holding the assassin’s attention with a series of towel snaps. Then she backed away to where Assassin 3 fell and kicked the sawtoothed shortsword up into the air, where she grabbed it with panache. She made a pass through the air, where it whistled menacingly through the air.

Running out of options, Assassin 2 lashed out at Reijo.
Assassin 2 vs Reijo: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Sunny is surprised and a little shocked and saddened that her sparring friend falls.

Quickly kneeling by the person's side to try her best to staunch the wound and keep the person of Sunny's interest amongst the land of the living.

"Is any one got a potion fer healin' or sum-it?" She calls, looking for some assistance.

Put Sunny's counter 'Over' the prone figure. They should be able to 'Share space' and allow people to get past hence out onto the deck.

Shaedeen proves to be less kind-hearted than Sunny, ignoring the fallen assassin (at least so long as there's an enemy still standing). She shifts toward the remaining intruder and stabs, averting her eyes and muttering at Reijo out of the corner of her mouth, "Put some pants on, would you?"

Reijo gestures to the two completely nekkid ladies in the room when Shaedeen gives him flack for his shredding pants.

Answering Shaedeen, "Just be grateful Waterwerks remembered his pants this mornin', meaning the dwarf.

Sidestepping the assassin on Shaedeen, Reijo slices into his gut while managing to hold onto what's left of his pants.

He then adds, "The world really don't need ta see his second beard, if ye knows what I mean..."
