Arwyn Fynolt |

Round 4_____________
"Ten-Penny! Grab a bow and start shooting!" Arwyn shouted as she drew another bead on the doll.
"Not far enough girl..." She muttered as she fired twice in rapid succession.
mw comp shortbow attack: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 6 - 2 = 5 Auto miss.
...Fumble confirm?: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 - 2 = 16.
mw comp shortbow rapid shot attack: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 6 - 2 = 13 for a possible 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 piercing damage.

Griffin Master |

no need to confirm fumbles. not using a fumble deck or anything. the 16 can be your second shot, which hits, but doesn't get through DR.
sorry. hope to be back on track soon.

Griffin Master |

the doll floats down to about 35 ft. off the ground trying to do somehting
caladan@will: 1d20 + 4 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 5 = 17
"Simon says, run and get help for me. " pointing off in the distance. but caladan doesn't fall for it.
Round 4:
[13: arwyn], [12: doll], [12: giacomo], [11: gondork], [9: Ten-Penny], [9: caladan]

Gondork Ramcleft |

Gondork walks up, his teeth clenched in the usual fashion, grabbing a dagger and hurling it in desperation.
Spend 1 divination mental focus for sudden insight:
Dagger: 1d20 + 2 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 2 - 2 + 1 = 15
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Sweet! After this I only have an alchemist's fire left, and of course everything I could chuck as an improvised weapon.

Arwyn Fynolt |

Round 5_____________
"Hold still dammit..." She muttered as she fired twice in rapid succession.
mw comp shortbow attack: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 6 - 2 = 21 for a possible 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 piercing damage.
mw comp shortbow rapid shot attack: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 6 - 2 = 14 for a possible 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 piercing damage.

Giacomo Rumble |

"Guys, what the hell should I do? It seems to resist most of Arwyn's attacks, I don't know if I can hurt him!"
Double-moved out of the way, so we're not clustered up for what appears to be a breath attack.

Griffin Master |

1 damage gets through
"Play nice!", the doll screetches at you from above, blasting away with a bold of frost.
ray of frost vs. gondork : 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 191d3 ⇒ 3 cold to gondork.
ten penny shakes herself off a bit, and seeks to come back
Round 5:
[13: arwyn], [12: doll], [12: giacomo], [11: gondork], [9: Ten-Penny], [9: caladan]
Round 6:
[13: arwyn], [12: doll], [12: giacomo], [11: gondork], [9: Ten-Penny], [9: caladan]

Giacomo Rumble |

"Good idea, Arwyn!"
Giacomo grabs his sling and starts loading a bullet into it.
That's two moves. I'm done. Unless you rule there's already a bullet in there, in which case I'll fire it off. It's a +7 to hit.

Griffin Master |

you've used it often enough. you'd probably stowe it "loaded". i'll allow the shot.
sling: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
its a hit. is it 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 damage for you ?

gm_caladan |

shortbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 151d6 ⇒ 4
praying for a crit. ooh. wait, has it been 8 hours "rest" since i used my judgement? the fight with izoze was in 2nd watch, its been ... only four hours since then. nope, just 6 hours rest or so. damn.

Arwyn Fynolt |

Round 6_____________
As Arwyn reached for the next arrow, she hesitated.
"Let's try something a little different..." She snarled as she pulled a cold iron arrow.
mw comp shortbow attack (cold iron arrow): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 for a possible 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 piercing and cold iron damage.

Griffin Master |

You said last time sling bullets were medium sized, and used d4s.
GAAAH.
yeah, they don't have a size, do they're just ammo? i figured they were like projectiles and did damage based on the size of sling you used. i'll go look it up later.
ray of frost vs. gondork: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 171d3 ⇒ 1
Round 6:
[13: arwyn], [12: doll], [12: giacomo], [11: gondork], [9: Ten-Penny], [9: caladan]
Round 7:
[13: arwyn]

Arwyn Fynolt |

Round 7_____________
Arwyn gritted her teeth and deliberately slowed down her rapid fire pace to steady her aim; she pulled another cold iron arrow and set it to string.
mw comp shortbow attack (cold iron arrow): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 for a possible 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 piercing and cold iron damage.

gm_caladan |

plink the arrow bounces off the doll.
"Magic! we need magic!"
caladan w/ shortbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 201d6 ⇒ 6
praying for a crit
plunk the arrow grazes the doll and seems to leave a scratch

Giacomo Rumble |

Is the current environment difficult terrain, or regular terrain? If it's regular, I can reach Arwyn and give her Magic Weapon in the same turn. If it's not, I'll fire off another sling bullet and hope Awyn will go get inside my reach by next turn.
"Magic? I've prepared Magic Weapon, get over here and I'll bless your bow!"

Griffin Master |

aside from the squares the tents and fire are in, its essentially difficult terrain. i've updated the map so you can see the green zone = normal terrain. outside of that its difficult terrain.
since you just need to get to Arwyn, that makes it easier. yes you can. So this turn you move and cast Magic weapon on Arwyn's bow.
Giacomo rushes back over to Arwyn, hastily leaping over the fire, rubbing his holy symbol over her bow and temporarily blessing it for Erastil.
Arwyn breathes, and calms herself, focusing on the void and the flame, eyes trained on the doll, she draws back and lets loose. the arrow striking the doll true. Its one silver / one seemingly real eye, both turn to glare at you, though the doll's expression doesn't change.
Her glance shifts back to Gondork though, as she aims her little dolly hand, and another icy blast to chill him. but she's distracted now, realizing you can actually threaten her now.
the arrow hits, since it was magic'ed it deals 4 dmg instead of 3.
ray of frost: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 101d3 ⇒ 1
Round 7:
[13: arwyn], [12: doll], [12: giacomo], [11: gondork], [9: Ten-Penny], [9: caladan]
Round 8:
[13: arwyn]

Giacomo Rumble |

"Yes, that actually seems to hurt him! Woo!"
Giacomo punches the air in excitement, then loads up another bullet and throws it at the dolly.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 141d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 41d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
I'm confused about which die to roll, so just pick whichever. Also, I used 4 bullets so far, not sure how many are left.

Gondork Ramcleft |

I believe I still have mental points invested in transmutation left; here goes nothing!
Gondork take the bow and a handful of arrows out of Arwyn's pack, then pulls.
I ^&%#ing hate bows! Ragh! Grandpa, guide my hand!
Standard action to use legacy weapon to make the bow a +1 weapon for 1 minute. Move action to get in position.

Griffin Master |

8th round, glad we're getting more magic on the field now =) "Chucky" over here turned out to be more of a wrinkle than I thought. though her real nastiness is if she silently paralyzes you before you can alert your friends.
Round 8:
[13: arwyn], [12: doll], [12: giacomo], [11: gondork], [9: Ten-Penny], [9: caladan]

Arwyn Fynolt |

Round 8_____________
Arwyn took a breath as her bow, already marvelously well balanced, seemed to come alive under her hand.
"Thanks Giacomo!" She exulted as she drew another cold iron arrow.
Dreyden Kepp's mw comp shortbow (magic weaponed) attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 1 = 25 for a possible 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5 piercing, cold iron and magic damage.

Griffin Master |

the second arrow thunks in more solidly. the childlike expression fixed, you swear you hear some shrill scream on the icy wind.
ray of frost v. gondork: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 211d3 ⇒ 2
Round 8:
[13: arwyn], [12: doll], [12: giacomo], [11: gondork], [9: Ten-Penny], [9: caladan]

gm_ten-penny_tacey |

ten penny waits for shots from giacomo and gondork before she gives up hugging the tree and lashes out to grab the doll
grab: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Ten penny then lets go with her other hand of the tree. for a second they hang, something still lifting the doll in place though. penny's eye's widen in shock as she realizes they're not falling, and she tries to grab back onto the tree, swinging out, then back to the trunk. She manages to pull the doll down ten feet though.
climb: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

Griffin Master |

the doll is grappled w/ ten-penny. for most invoking the -4 engaged in melee, but does suffer a -4 to dex itself. so she's easier to hit, if you can overlook the -4 as via precise shot. otherwise she just got a little harder to hit. she did wait to pull this until after giacomo and gondork have gone ( and can wait until after arwyn shoots too, but before the doll acts again )

Giacomo Rumble |

"Woo! Go Ten-Penny!"
Attack roll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 171d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 31d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Again, not sure which to use, so pick the right one. 5 bullets down, 5 to go.

Gondork Ramcleft |

After he gets hit for the umpteenth time, a grin starts to form on Gondork's face.
Child's play.
Im not sure, is old Dansby's bow masterwork? Composite?
1d20 + 2 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 2 - 4 + 1 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Gondork pulls, then fires.
Heh. I might even start to like this. Still prefer a sturdy greataxe though.

Griffin Master |

gondork, why the -4? old man dansby's bow... hmmh. check the t-rex post, it might have it. :
composite longbow (+1 str pull )
without the -4 and w/ the +1 str, i think that does 3 from the sling and 4 from the arrow.
the bullet lodges in the dolls head, the porcaline and wood mix cracking, the third arrow sticking out of its body.

Griffin Master |

Round 9:
[13: arwyn], [9: Ten-Penny (delaying)], [12: doll], [12: giacomo], [11: gondork], [9: caladan]

Arwyn Fynolt |

Round 9_____________
Again, Arwyn took a breath as she drew another cold iron arrow.
Dreyden Kepp's mw comp shortbow (magic weaponed) attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 1 = 19 for a possible 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 1 = 8 piercing, cold iron and magic damage.

Griffin Master |

The arrow hits it square in the forehead. with a crackle, some magical force whooshes out, the doll's body hangs motionless again. Ten penny leaps and grabs the limp doll. she manages to drag it slowly down to the ground. apparently finally lifeless.
You breathe a collective sigh of relief. its not even dawn yet. the cold and dark are still settled around from night. Bringing the doll by the fire, you examine it. Its "real" eye seems to actually be an exquisitely crafted blue sapphire. the "silver" eye appears to be a frost encrusted mirror.
the doll's dagger seems to be an unremarkable wooden toy dagger.
