ahh see going off my climb check i was up on the balcony, and as a human i was relying on my sense of hearing

Curden:
Then you can tell that something is happening about 30' above C5. You'd still have the 50% miss chance though. You can make another perception check this turn though.

Arioch turns invisible once again and reappears in C5 hurling a conjured ball of acid directly upwards into the darkness, where a shrill scream issues forth.

Baph Alar leaps upwards, bearing Shemm into meele, and pouncing upon the figure in the darkness and ripping shards out of the multifaceted chadow surrounding it. You have destroyed 3 out of 8 of the mirror images surrounding the shadow figure. Two from hits and once from a near miss.

The two remaining guards fire the other barrels of their muskets at Arioch, but their shots fizzle, misfiring. Not him. the female bodyguard shouts at them. Get the doors open. The guards move to follow her orders, probably grateful to be ordered out of the vicinity of the ninja who annihilated two of their comrades. The woman then turns and steps closer to her charge. Turning to the door in A1 she does something that you cannot quite make out, and the door is blasted off it's hinges into the hallway beyond, allowing light into the room. As she turns away, the priest, still writhing on the ground, calls out to her. 救了我从影子,无界者!

Classical Ereshite:
Save me from the shadow, lamutassurtaku. The last word is one that you are not familiar with, but you can make a linguistics check.

Darkvision:
The shadowy figure appears to stand still, but the dark fire in its hand lances out all the same at Baph Alar (dealing 19 fire damage) before it flies off into the shadows. Don't worry, there is a reason that you did not get an AoO.

Darkvision or Low Light Vision:
The shadowy figure is in H10 up on the balcony, trying to hide, but your superior eyesight can make it out.[/ooc]

Saint Caleth:
I know the reason there's no AoO. I've got that particular spell on my spells known list. :P

Arioch, yet again, goes invisible, getting closer to the shadow and unleashing a bolt of shadowy electricity, similar to that which he gathered in his hand, although much lower in power. Gonna try to get within 30 feet of him again, casting Jolt this time.

Touch Attack, Denied Dex: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 2 + 2 = 20

Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 5 +1 Dexterity Damage

If I can't get to within 30 feet of the shadow thing, or don't think he could get off a shot if I can, I'll instead use a swift action to release my wand of reduce person into my hand, casting it on myself and moving in the general direction of closer to the shadowy guy.

Saint Caleth, any word on whether the guards have low-light/darkvision? If not, then there's a possibility the one who hit me might not have due to concealment.

Male Human Gunslinger (Pistolero) 1

Seeing the many people attacking SOMETHING up at the ceiling, Curden decides that they can probably handle it. He continues to search the balcony, firing a single flare shot down the balcony(just in general, strait down from my position).

basically my plan is to illuminate the entire balcony from the top down (standing about at B and firing towards N), and i'm holding my action for my second shot

After Arioch and Gunk

You can't hold half your action Curden. Either have to delay your whole turn, or ready an action to activate when specific conditions are met.

Shemm curses as the black fire licks into Baph Alar. He leans down and slaps his hand onto the wound and again Ereshite characters swirl around his hand as he speaks a long forgotten word.

Well, the way you said it was a little ambiguous, so I misinterpreted it. Sorry about that.

Male Human Gunslinger (Pistolero) 1

whatevs, i'll just full attack lol instead of just firing one flare round, after curden fires the original one he fires the other if he sees anything else

Male Human Gunslinger (Pistolero) 1

generally my thought was i wasn't going to fire again if i didn't see anything, so i was waiting for saint caleth's response

The harsh light of Curden's flare banishes the darkness, revealing the shadow creature, its penumbra now tattered from Baph Alar's assault. Curden, go ahead and take that second shot.

Fizbert:
You think that lamutassurtaku comes from the word for "limitless", but you are not sure what it is supposed to refer to.

Shemm:
She is human, don't worry. She is also obviously a magus, judging from the sword in her hands and the spells she is shooting around.

Male Human Gunslinger (Pistolero) 1

errmaagerdd what? haha sweet! Curden smiles to himself, then also fires his left pistol at the shadow creature. flare attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 against touch AC not even counting concealment i missed that one second attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

ohh also, since the flare passed within 20 feet of him but didnt hit him, he needs to make a DC 15 fort save or be dazzled for a round "Hey I've got something up here!"

Male Human Gunslinger (Pistolero) 1

Unfortunately splash damage doesnt hurt mirror images, when i played a magus that was a spell i loved abusing

Fetchling Ninja 2 Sorcerer 3 39/39 HP AC 17/T14/FF13 Init+10 Perc +8 F +3 R +8 W +3

Splash damage indeed does nothing against Mirror images, as it is treated as an area affect.

You unleash a fury of attacks at the now exposed shadow assailant. Arioch's spell tears through an image, as does Gunk's bomb, although some of the flames lick his target anyway. Baph Alar charges, tearing away the rest of the images, and allowing N's crossbow bolt to finally strike the creature itself. F@~+ Yea, wizard's crossbow! Fizbert's elemental wooshes into existence and strikes true as well.

The shadow creature screams something which might or might not be in an actual language, then 5ft steps up and to the side Invisible fire lances out at Baph Alar again, striking with unmatched fury (35 fire damage and holy shitballs look at those rolls). The creature surveys its work so far and then strikes at Curden, but the fire is luckily far less incendiary (9 fire damage).

The woman looks back at the priest as he calls out, and moves to aid him after only an instant of hesitation. As she leaves his side, she motions to the nearby guard to stay near the young noble.

Lord Tayir begins crawling painfully towards the open door, but he stops cold in his tracks as the nearby guard changes from an armored human to a gray robed and armored humanoid not entirely unlike Arioch. Already raising his sword as he transforms, the creature brings the pommel down on the back of the young noble's head. He then grabs the man's unconscious form and backs towards the door, sword at his captive's throat. Stay away or he dies. Don't think I don't know who this is. The guards in the room seem to comply, indicating that the young noble's continued life is paramount. His bodyguard looks from the Priest of Marduk to her charge, and for the first time you can see hopelessness and uncertainty in her expression.

Darkvision:
You can clearly see flames being hurled from the shadowy assassin's hands.

Go with him, I can deal with the rest of them.

Suggestion, DC 20 on the guard to try and make it seem reasonable that going with Curden is a good idea.

So, I just noticed that there is no racial language for shadow creatures. I am therefore using my prerogative as DM to create one, for reasons of lore that will become apparent eventually.

Arioch:
You would not necessarily be able to speak this language, since you don't magically learn the language when you get turned into a Fetchling. I would let you retroactively change one of your starting languages, but you only have the one.

The newly revealed enemy looks at Curden for a moment, somewhat puzzled. He does not cut his hostage's throat, though, which is a good sign. その場合、私に従うと、共通舌を話すことはありません。 He orders Curden angrily, jerking his chin at the others in the room. 私達は王子を持っています。彼のガードが干渉しないようにしてください。

Don't worry, Arioch isn't quite smart enough to pick up on that. He might pick up a rank of linguistics to learn it next level, though I've got to be very careful with my skill ranks if I want to qualify for Arcane Trickster. I messed my skills up a little bit so that I have to finish everything right at 7, in time for me to take AT at 8. But in any case, Yeah, that's fine with me. i wouldn't expect him to know it.

Welp, here goes nothing:
