I don't think you ever said how you wanted it to be enchanted, since you wanted the "base" mithral armor to be crafted first, and then you would get it enchanted afterwards.

Yes, but Maddok made a suggestion at some point on how to enchanct it for minimum spell failure.

The only thing I can think of is Celestial Armor.

That would have no spell chance failure for Derek.

I geuss I wrapped up Maddok's scenario too cleanly. =P

Ah, that took some doing, but I found the reference to the armour we discussed before, the best idea you said was a Celestial plate, and that is what I would like.

Yea relying on an Int check from Maddok is just dooming us to failure.

It seems silly that it's an int check to avoid int and cha damage.

That drawback is pretty silly in general.. since it will avoid a potential 4-week 8-INT/8-CHA/no-spells Maddok (and no answers, for that matter), let's just handwave that particular roll. The truthfulness rolls seem like drawback enough, to be honest.

A +3 full plate version of Celestial Armor would cost (in my estimation) 28,600 gp (where Derek already has 10,500 gp in the form of the base mithral full plate). So the price for the additional magical crafting would be 18,100 gp (9,050 gp crafting cost).

Hmm.. There might be a case made for Appario using Chammedy's mental distress as leverage in a biased negotiation rather than engage in a third-party arbitrated pre-nuptual agreement that would satisfy both spirit and letter of law. ;)

If Appario could see the above replies, I think he'd say this: "What does love/romance have to do with marriage?"

I won't claim to know all that much about Pathfinder deities, but do have a certain amount of fun trying to implement how I view the God's principles and tenets into everyday Golarion life. Remember, these Gods are 'real' in Golarion and have actual divine emissaries and tangible benefits to believing and acting in certain ways.

In Appario's case, I'm not sure that "love" ranks up really high on the list of reasons to get married to Abadar. I think Abadar might value the a more stable collective for raising children over 'love' as reasons to get married. Abadar might feel that a stable, civilized society has multiple parents with shared, contractual obligation to raise children.

I would opine that Abadar values the marriage contract not unlike how arranged marriages are seen in today's society...the couple has time and a shared framework for building a life together and will eventually learn to love each other.

Other deities would probably feel differently. Desna certainly, would value love above all else as a motive for marriage. Other lawful gods would think that political connections would be a fine reason for marriage.

I'm thinking that CE & NE view marriage a bit like Ming the Merciless.

All that said, I'm happy with the chance to have Appario 'propose' to the Lady. I've been planning that post out in my mind for better than a year...well, at least the framework of the proposal.
