A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 3–7.
Following a successful mission into the mist-shrouded and shifting Gloomspires, the Pathfinder Society sent another team to explore the tomb of the legendary pirate Sevenfingers. Unfortunately, this team never returned. The spires have momentarily halted, allowing a new team to brave the tomb’s many dangers, hopefully rescuing their allies in the process.
This scenario is a sequel to Pathfinder Society Scenario #6–06: "Hall of the Flesh Eaters".

Having ventured past the Hall of the Flesh Eaters, the group of Pathfinders have discovered only one of the remaining Pathfinders from the team before them they where sent in to look for. Jaohd Ilzinian, the leader and a Taldan paladin of Shelyn, deprived of his memory and weapons, his powers expended joins you as you explore further into the maze.

Omar shouts quickly to the rest of the group that he hears sounds behind the curtain to the left, that the two shadow-skeletons are incorporeal Allips, with nasty touch and constant insane babble attack, and that is seems they stand in an area of magical silence.

Bernard quickly draws his crossbow and lets a bolt fly at the nearest Allip before him, knowing it will be partially ineffective, but uncertain what else to do. While the bolt does not exactly strike the fiend, it clearly hurts it even as it travels through it's incorporeal form, hitting the solid wall behind it.

Light Crossbow vs Purple: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26 <HIT>
Magic, Piercing: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Ellismus the Blue quickly draws, mixes, and then flings a small deadly concoction, but it likewise travels straight through the two ghostly creatures, not exploding until it hits the wall behind them. For just a moment, if fills half the room with flames, but both Allips seem impervious to them.

Ellismus:
I can not find anything that says Bombs count as magical weapons. Am I wrong, or missing something? I know that, for instance, even a vial of Holy Water will not hit and explode against incorporeal foes, similar to an Alchemist's Fire. Is there somewhere that says Bombs work differently? If so, I'll change the above.

Suddenly the thick black curtains are ripped apart as another figure bursts through them, rushing at the party. She is clearly undead, but something seems odd about her, like some small spark of intelligence remains. She is dressed in rotted decadence, the remains of a once expensive and fine dress, and still wears various jeweled ornaments.

Know Religion DC 13:
This, the "Undying Bride" is a unique, variant Zombie. In addition to Slam Attacks, she also has a strange elongated tongue which can sap strength.

Know Religion DC 18:
She is clearly much tougher than a typical zombie, can also move quickly, and in not utterly mindless.

Sense Motive DC 20:
As soon as the curtains rip open, revealing the Zombie Queen, Jaohd attempts to pretend to be both surprised and horrified, although you can tell he is faking it.

She rushes at Jaohd who seems filed with shock and terror, slamming her fists into the man who does not strike back or try to defend himself.

Slam vs Jaohd: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Directly afterwards, both Allips rush at the party, breaking free of the odd circle of Silence. The very second they emerge, the entire room if filled with their Babbling moans, attempting to afflict each and everyone one of your minds with insanity.

#1 Will DC 15 Negates (Everyone):
An allip constantly mutters to itself, creating a hypnotic effect. All sane creatures within 60 feet of the allip must succeed at a Will save or be fascinated for 2d4 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4 rounds. While a target is fascinated, the allip can approach it without breaking the effect, but an attack by the allip does end the effect. Creatures that successfully save cannot be affected by the same allip’s babble for 24 hours. This is a sonic, mind-affecting compulsion effect.

#2 Will DC 15 Negates (Everyone):

Jaohd, still being assaulted by the Zombie woman, takes a step back, drawing his longsword, Ether's Kiss, and says, IN COMMON, "Not this one. The others. But you must hold back. Not until they are prepared, my love." and then swings. . . At Thoril!!! The blow slams into Thoril's back with a loud crack, not breaking through his toughened scales, but hurting a great deal anyway.

Bombs are supernatural, just like dragon fire, and unless they have fire resistance, would thus harm them just like a fireball would

I've made a slight alteration (to Ellismus's Bomb), but decided to repost the entire thing.

One of the now fiery shadow-skeleton-wraiths seems to take the brunt of it, while the other is only barely harmed.

Thoril doesn't hold back, slamming his massive weapon into the Not Paladin with all of his might, and nearly destroys his outright, but something, deep down keeps Jaohd going. Omar takes the wand, which suddenly glows with a holy light green light and attempts to use it's power against the neatest undead foe. It's magic works, bypassing the spirit's natural defenses and suddenly drawing it a little more into your own material realm, where it can be touched. . . And hurt.

Omar attempts to move past the now very solid Allip, but fails, getting pushes back, but not causing him harm. He then flings a vial at Jaohd, catching the NOT Paladin directly in the chest and sending more flames throughout the room, likewise catching the closest Allip, who now takes full damage from them.

looking at the above I think we're in deep problems guys, considering Thoril's 28 damage doesn't seem to have registered on the paladin... :( is this too early to consider party escape? we have the folding boat I guess....

Bernard applies some alchemical goo to a handful of his bolts as the Undying Queen steps back and tries to take more than a few chunks out of Thoril. She, unlike the bretrayer, has no issue getting in through Thoril's scales.

The slightly crimson, and now partially solid specter moves over to focus on Omar, perhaps because of his use of the wand, or perhaps fearing that Omar's sonic talents might disrupt their babbling.

The slightly more purplish wraith likewise attempts to force it's hand onto, and then through Bernard, but he is too quick, and too small, and is able to roll out of the way while attuning his bolts.

Jaohd continues to burn, and while you can certainly tell that he feels it, cringing in pain, he continues to fight on, not ignoring it, but simply allowing it to happen as if he didn't care about his body. Again, he swings his longsowrd, Ether's Kiss at Thoril, but in doing so, it's clear he doesn't seem to know how to use the weapon to it's full effect, holding it like an amateur, almost a club. He seems on the brink of falling over, as if any second he will simply die midswing, but continues on.

Omar, somewhat dazed by the wisdom clouding his mind, looks at the purple undead floating and decides it may be risky to walk near the red one to try and wand the other....

Ellismus, I need to get closer to the other and this blasted one is sapping my will from me.

Omar will drop the wand, 5' step and draw his MW greatsword and hack at the solid-ish ghost/allip.

Knowing the risk of being attacked by the creature in front of him, Bernard still wants to shoot against it.

The Paladin is very clearly not an ally right now, outright attaching the party and seems to be working with/for this zombie woman.

Neither of the Allip's have been destroyed, yet. So close. . .

Bennybeck stays there, staring at the far spirit as it continues to mumble nonsense, but seemingly very captivating nonsense, while Thoril levels his massive axe at the Zombie woman that harmed him, sapping his flesh. His blade cuts deep, but she continues on. Omar also takes up the blade, cutting into the one nearest him, but as his blade is not magical, even with the spell in place, the fiendish spirit resists much of it, lingering on.

Ellismus similarly takes a scrape to the face as he hurls his own ranged death at the nearest Allip, hitting it square on and outright killing it. A bit of the blast also carries over, catching Jaohd, who, all of the sudden slumps to the floor, dropping his sacred blade. In his place, you see a withered, spectral being, the likes of which you have never seen. It is not human, nor any humanoid race currently in this world. As Jaohd falls, suddenly the room is filled with a brilliant bright light, and all of the sudden the Paladin's Aura of Courage kicks in!!! Unlike the still burning corpse of Jaohd, the new spirit, the one that was able to somehow resist being expelled does not seem hurt at all.

The zombie woman doe snot seem to know, or care that Jaohd has fallen, and continues to attack Thoril, her nearest meal. At the same time, the Allip, knowing it will fall to oblivion soon, steps closer to Bennybeck, attempting to lay a hand on the small warrior.

No worries.

Freed from the mental shackles that had bound his mind and will to simply observe, Bennybeck steps in closer, catching the new ghostly creature in between himself and the massive Thoril and strikes hard and deep. His pear, like all others before seems to only hit wind, but the magic of the blade seems to affect the spirit.

Thoril literally cuts the Zombie Woman in half, and her rotting form falls to the ground <un>lifeless, sending the newly formed spirit into a rage as he curses you in a strange, unfamiliar language.

Calling on the wand's powers once more, Omar directs it at the other Allip, and as he does so, feels much, but not all of the wand's magic has been depleted. You are not sure just how many more times it can be used.

Will DC 17: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Bernard takes aim and fires another shot, but luck is not with him this time and the bolt flies off to the side before striking the wall behind the spirit not partially made solid. Ellismus quickly takes off his cloack, dropping it on the fallen and burning body of Jaohd, not offering a slight silvery light, and attempts to heal his wounds. Suddenly the Paladin's eyes open, and he sits up, looking around, not in confusion, but righteous wrath. The fact that he is covered in wounds and still alit looks scary indeed.

The Allip swings a spectral hand at Bennybeck once more, taking with it a small handful of his sanity.

As if in reply, Tzur-Vaal flies at Thoril, the one that slew his darling, pouring all of his wrath into his hand.

Bennybeck moves in to flank, but can't seem to pin the spirit down while Thoril swings nearly simultaneously. His swing goes straight through the incorporeal spirit, rending immaterial matter.

Changing his mind at the last moment, Omar focuses the wand on the newly formed spirit instead, the one that Jaohd had called "Tzur-Vaal", but he seems to have resisted it's effects.

Bernard finishes off the last Allip, leaving only the party and the mastermind vengeful spirit.
