would it count as a sneak attack?
I sent a PM. <edit, and answered before I could even make the post.>
Omar and Sven nearly lay out the undead beasty before it can even be a true threat, but it is the concealed Bennyneck that pierces it through it's undead heart, leaving it to drop <un>lifelessly at the ground.
The oddly frothing patch of mist simply wafts over, engulfing Omar, Bennybeck, and Bernard. Though it is mostly intangible, it still delivers devastating effects to those caught within it's area.

Oh, I see... I'll just chuck a bomb in round 1 and in round 2 then, as this thing sounds nasty... precise bomb to avoid all PCs.... thing catches on fire unless Ref save DC 17 for an extra 1d6 fire damage on its turn.

Dang it, I didn't include the spoiler for the Mist like I thought. My apologies.
Also please note, all I did was swap Bernard & Ellismus from the end of the prior round's Init to the beginning of the next. So, prior to sending a Bomb right now, Ellismis is still at his first action.

Omar calls out in his battle rage
Ellismus, what is this mist? It tries to grab us with its cold tendrils! The walking undead I can destroy...but what will affect this?
He swings his magical polearm into the most solid looking section of mist he can reach.

Ellismus appears terrified, especially when Omar and Bernard shout desperately to ask how to kill this thing.
DM Beckett

As the mass of strange necrotic mist advances, attempting to wash over the party. everyone safely jumps back out of it's area, though small dark purple bursts of electrical-like energy strike those around it. This should have included Sven as well.
Bernard moves to a better position and readies his crossbow, wanting to make sure he can actually hurt the mist before wasting his ammunition while Ellismus launches a fiery bomb. It's odd. On one hand, the bomb seems to simply fly through it, hitting nothing until the ground, but as it explodes, the mist catches fire just the same and reacts very poorly to it.
Omar, in a fury levels his polearm at the very mist, cutting deep. Again, oddly, he receives absolutely no resistance with his swipe, just like cutting through air, but the mists seems to react to it just as a spirit might against a weapon attuned to the realm of the underworld. There are bright and erratic flashes of horrid scenes and vile visions within the mist for those close enough to see it's center, really the only indication it is being harmed.
Taking that as a good enough sign to give it a shot, Bernard lets a magical bolt fly. It sails directly through the mist and clangs against the far wall unimpeded, but again, you are pretty certain that it did something to the mist, though without a physical, or even humanoid body, there are no wounds to see.

With a might thrust and a galvinizing battle cry, Omar cuts into the mist, just as Ellismus sends an explosive vial into it's center. The bomb errupts, catching the entire being aflame, making the skald into something of a prophet, for in its death throws, the mist becomes a massice cyclone of flame, burning itself away into nothingness.
Jaohd stands up, finally able to resist the fear now that the mist creature is dead. He looks once more at the corpse of his fallen ally and then comments, <In Celestial> "Thank you Pathfinders. . . I was not prepared for this. Either of these. I do not remember what happened here, or that spook, whatever it was."
"Does anyone have any weapons they can spare? In case there are other things to battle, I should be useful. Or any way to cure any of my wounds? I do not recall how or when, but it seems my powers of been expended."
Investigating the body of the fallen Pathfinder, a shattered Wayfinder identifies him as Zumek. Zumek’s body is wearing a suit of masterwork hide armor, a masterwork composite longbow, and two quivers containing a total of 40 arrows. His masterwork longspear lies on the floor near his body.

@DM Beckett I have a doubt: even passing in the Reflex save, Bernard still got damaged by the mist?
"What does he saying?", Bernard asks anyone in the party that speaks the tongue spoken by Jaohd.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
"Look there", the halfling points with his little finger, "there is a small wooden box underneath the corpses. Someone here is skilled in open this things without destroy it?"
Omar Posada

Omar will let out a battle cheer as the mist creature dissipates.
HUZZAH! We did it!
He stows his weapon and recovers his cure wand. He taps Bennybeck and Jaohd twice each with it and himself once.

Jaohd clw: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (8, 1) + 2 = 11
Omar clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
5 charges used. Omar will help others if they need cures and have a wand of their own...feel free to roll/mark off charges
I have a couple extra weapons. My greatsword or longbow you are welcome to borrow, although I will need them back.
DM Beckett

Im going to look into it. The bestiary entry seems to indicate yes and the abbreviated text in the scenario not. When I get home, Ill take a better look and get back to you.
DM Beckett

Laying beneath the Pathfinder's corpse, hastily concealed beneath his shirt, Bernard discovers a small wooden box. Taking it and opening it, you also discover a candle, a potion, and a small collection of coins (55gp).
Ellismus the Blue
|
Ellismus automatically identifies the potion thanks to mad alchemy skill and checks the candle and box as well:
Spellcraft on Candle: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Spellcraft on Box: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
"Ah! this candle will burn for one hour and protect anyone within ten feet from contact by astrally projected creatures, ethereal creatures, haunts, incorporeal creatures, mediums channeling a spirit, and phantoms, and sometimes other spirits or creatures made of ectoplasm. Such creatures can’t enter the area of effect, and act as though they were affected by an antilife shell that specifically targets them and no other creatures!"
"The box is that folding boat the Venture-Captain is looking for! It can transform into a small boat that seats four or into a ship that can seat 15..."
Ellismus the Blue
|
Do our characters see an exit or other passages or is this it?
Ellismus the Blue
|
Ellismus appears deep in thoughts. Away from Jaohd he speaks in ushed tones, "Uh... didn't the Venture-Captain say that Jaohd borrowed her boat? why would it be under that dead fellow? something's weird here..."
Omar Posada
|
Omar will wait for a response from Jaohd before granting him his sword.
"I am sure our friend has a logical explanation- don't you Jaohd ."
DM Beckett
|
Jaohd again asks, for something to arm himself with, and while he can clearly understand both your words and your implications, he can not be respond in Celestial only. In Celestial: "I, . . . I do not remember. Perhaps he was attempting to hide it fromt he pirates above? I do not know, truly."
The way onward is easily seen, a passage leading into the first of the actual labyrinth for which this level get's it's name. But, before advancing, Jaohd stops you with a humble request, Again speaking in Celestial, "Please, before we go onwards, I beg you to help me take Zumek to the surface. I heard you say he was killed by negative energy of the darkest sorts, and perhaps, whatever affliction has smitten me, I have enough holiness left to lay him to rest that he not rise as one of the unholy. It will not take long."
Omar Posada
|
Omar does not understand the response and turns to Ellismus with a shrug.
What did he say? Should I give him this? He holds out a silvered light mace to defend himself, not sure if Jaohd is proficient in heavy blades.
Ellismus the Blue
|
"In my professional Pathfinder opinion Omar? Hell no!" replies Ellismus rather bluntly.
Bernard Nimblefeet
|
"I, . . . I do not remember. Perhaps he was attempting to hide it fromt he pirates above? I do not know, truly."
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
@DM Beckett it seems that he is lying?
Ellismus the Blue
|
He's definitely lying: he's the one that was carrying the VC folding boat... if he doesn't remember that what good is he to the Pathfinder Society anyhow? (I'm a Neutral PC, and don't give a hoot whether he's a paladin or antipaladin... but I give a hoot that he's completely unreliable OR lying to us)
Ellismus the Blue
|
@Bernard: I think Omar rocked a 24 or 26 on SM earlier and was told J-man wasn't lying...
Ellismus the Blue
|
Of course
Bennybeck Wabbittracks

The halfling will say We are damn fools if we are just going to give people who we don't know of know their intent any type of weapon especially since he seems to have some sort of spell or something keeping him from communicating with us, how do we know that this dark energy hasn't impacted him in some other way? Paladins are holy but that does not mean that they cannot be corrupted or spell bound, or possessed, or charmed, or dominated, or polymorphed
