Wulfram said a blessing to bolster his allies.

Casting Bless.Each ally gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects for 4 minutes. The area of effect is a 50 ft burst, so it doesn't go around corners. I'm not sure whether it will catch Rogar or not.

"Now then, Ironfang!", he said to the goblin.

Just some rolls to get a head start on the next round update. The bless effect won't reach Rogar.

Down on the ground, Karla shouts with joy at the mayhem engulfing the hobgoblin camp. She plants her feet and bends her knees and lifts the air as if craddling autumn leaves in her arms. With a heave, she throws upwards the imaginary leaves.

Where the worg and his warrior are, the sky above tingle, then leaves of gold start falling down, blindingly flashing in the morning sun.

Cast Glitterdust where the worg and hobgoblins are. Will DC 15.

She then releases Nik'o: "Now!"

Nik'o rushes forth and attacks the worg, standing alongside Sia.

Made the first batch of rolls on the other computer and recorded the results, so you won't see them here.

The goblin is surprised when Wulfram suddenly appears. The shaman stabs both the berserker and his wolf mount! He then casts a blessing on the group and readies to attack again.

The bugbear narrowly misses the fire elemental as it surges upright. It slams the big goblinoid, scorching his flesh.

Eustoma takes aim at the goblin, lodging an arrow into his shoulder. Sia snaps at him, but he dodges her teeth.

Karla blankets the hobgoblin and prone bugbear with glitterdust. Only one of the archers resists the spell!

Nik'o moves next to Sia and grabs the goblin's mount, dragging the wolf to the ground! The goblin manages to leap off before falling, landing in a crouch next to the cat and Wulfram.

Rogar blasts the remaining archer atop the tower, hurling his broken body over the edge. The hobgoblin's bones crunch as he hits the ground far below. The swarm of bats winks out of existence.

The goblin's mount tries to get to its feet, but Wulfram stabs it again, and it whimpers and lies still. Screeching with fury, the goblin launches himself at the shaman, attempting a leaping uppercut! But Wulfram steps back and avoids the dangerous punch, and the follow-up strike!

The bugbear next to the elemental attacks it, but misses again. The other one stands up and swings as well, managing to connect.

"This is OUR forest!", Wulfram roared at the goblin. He dropped his spear, drew his mace, and swung at his foe.

Karla shuffles more imaginary leaves. This time, the golden leaves fall off softly where the goblin and the worg are making their stands against Wulfram and Sia.

Nik'o attacks the new wolf creature with a fierce, if high pitched, growl.

Wulfram draws his morningstar and smashes it into the goblin's face! Teeth fly from his mouth, and he wavers unsteadily on his feet.

Eustoma brings the goblin down with an arrow from above, then fires another into the worg. Sia growls and snaps at the worg too, sinking her teeth into its flank.

The fire elemental burns the bugbears with its fiery touch. The first one roars in pain as it catches aflame!

Karla hits the worg with glitterdust, blinding the beast. That makes it an easy target for Nik'o, who bowls it to the ground as she bites and claws at it.

Rogar drops a boulder on the worg from above, crushing its skull and finishing it off.

Rogar, you'll have to use extended range instead of pushing infusion to hit any other creature from the tower, since you're thirty feet up.

The bugbears attack the fire elemental. The first one misses, but the second one smashes it hard. The elemental disappears, and that bugbear moves up the stairs.

From the barracks tent, two more hobgoblins and a bugbear rush out, their armor hastily donned. They rush toward the stairs, some navigating the slippery grease.

From the eastern tent, two other creatures emerge. The first looks like a cross between a gaunt hobgoblin and a white-furred rat, with bulging pink eyes and a naked tail. She limps forward, wielding a rapier. Behind her comes a short female hobgoblin in a chain shirt, a bandolier of alchemical weapons across her chest. Both appear blurry and indistinct.

9 damage to Sia, 10 damage to Nik'o. Will add the two new arrivals to the map soon.

Wulfram dropped his mace and picked up his spear, then stabbed at the bugbear coming up the stairs.

Rogar studies the stairway, looking for key structural points, and as Wulfram takes out the last one coming up, he sends a boulder flying downward, slamming into the steps at wherever looks to be the most effective, with the hopes of collapsing the steps altogether.

The stairs are built partially into the cliffside, making them very sturdy. It is unlikely you'd be able to collapse it all without a concerted effort. Rogar, you can choose a different target for your attack if you'd like since attacking the stairs from above won't do much damage.

Ah, okay. If I wouldn't be able to wipe out a section of the stairs with the attack, I'll aim for the archer that got Sia (if it's not still blinded that is, otherwise, just one of the archers).

Can I try to catch the stairs on fire where the grease spell is?

Under Pathfinder rules, grease doesn't actually ignite any more. The elemental could start a small fire, but it would take a while to burn enough to damage the stairs. Creatures passing it through it would take 1 fire damage though.

Karla grunts when the arrow catches her in her left shoulder. It takes her a moment to relaxe and realize this was still a safe spot. Looking over her makeshift wall, she spies the newcomers and warns the others: "Bosses are coming!"

She pulls one of her two wands, reaches above the wall and fires at the alchemist, then drops a knee to remain covered from the archer.

Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Nik'o, hearing her mistress wince, shuffles back protectively.

Eustoma pulls out one of her flaming arrows, and fires one of them and a regular arrow at the first hobgoblin in line.

Wulfram retrieves his spear before stabbing down at the bugbear. The point drives into its throat, and the goblinoid tumbles off the staircase and thuds to the ground below.

Karla calls Nik'o to her as she launches a magic missile at the alchemist. But the projectile splatters harmlessly against an invisible shield of force floating a few inches from the hobgoblin!

Eustoma fires a pair of arrows at the next bugbear in line, but both fail to hit.

Rogar blasts one of the archers with a barrage of stone, crushing the hobgoblin under the torrent of stone.

The burning bugbear takes several moments to pat out the flames scorching his flesh.

The archers shift their aim to Wulfram, trying to take out the burly shaman. Only one manages a good hit.

The hobgoblin and bugbear who emerged from the tent navigate the grease and up the stairs. Wulfram stabs each in succession, and though badly wounded, they press on. Sia snaps at the hobgoblin, but he dodges the wolf's jaws. The second hobgoblin also makes it across the grease.

The wererat squeaks in surprise as she slips and falls! The alchemist sneers and barks an order in Goblin. "Get up, you worthless vermin!"

Wulfram cursed as an arrow grazed his arm. "I grow tired of these archers!", he exclaimed. He gestured and recited a prayer, causing dense fog to billow out from the bottom of the stairs, enveloping the archers and the alchemist.

Karla pouts as her missile has no effect, wondering what could have stopped what she thought of as unstoppable.

She uses her wand to cast a protective spell on Nik'o, thinking that she should have used it earlier, given what she knows of its duration.

Hobgoblins and Bugbears were now piling up at the top of the stairs. She feared for their lives, their freedom, and all that they had built. She lets go reluctantly of Nik'o, who rejoins the fight alongside Sia.

Nik'o advances and lashes out at the Hobgoblin fighting Sia.

Wulfram casts a spell, blanketing the lower part of the ravine in a thick bank of fog.

Karla protects Nik'o with mage armor before sending the lynx back into fight. She tears apart the hobgoblin at the top of the stairs!

Eustoma shifts her aim to the bugbear, hitting it with two arrows. The second one catches in straight in the throat, and the goblinoid gurgles and falls from the staircase!

With no clear sight to his foes, Rogar delays.

The bugbear emerges from the fog cloud, only to be cut down by Wulfram's spear! The hobgoblin behind him rushes up the stairs too, surviving the spear hit he takes. Sia bites his leg, and though he is bleeding heavily, the hobgoblin still cuts the wolf with an axe!

One hobgoblin emerges from the edge of the fog at the base of the ravine. He shoots up at Wulfram, hitting him in the arm, then he shouts to the others, informing them of the smith's location! More arrows fly up out of the fog but whiz past Wulfram.

The wererat is too low on the stairs for Wulfram to hit with his spear.

"Damn!" bellows Karla in surprise as the alchemist manages to find her through the fog.

Freezing, she moves stiff fingers and activates her other wand as she moves to another spot, hoping no other bomb will find her. She points at the wererat and a blue bolt strikes forth.

Karla watches with interest to see if her missile will be stopped again.

Nik'o is busy cutting down Hobgoblins, but she rolls on her back with the blast of the bomb.

Seeing Sia in bad shape, Wulfram moved next to her and healed some of her wounds.

Sia doesn't manage to dodge the cold, and takes all the damage. She whimpers with all her injuries, but stands firm. Giving Wulfram a canine grin when he heals her.

Sia readies an attack when an enemy comes in range she will bite it.

Karla fires her last magic missile at the wererat, who shrieks as it burns into her gut. Nik'o takes down the hobgoblin at the top of the stairs with a flurry of claws and teeth.

Eustoma fires two more arrows at the archer. The first one misses, but the second one goes through his eye and into his brain, killing the goblinoid!

The remaining two archers step out of the fog and shoot up at Wulfram. One manages to hit.

The fog parts as a hulking, scarred bugbear in spiked armor emerges. He raises his composite shortbow and fires a shot up at Wulfram. The arrow punctures his armor, embedding itself deep into his thigh!

Karla's eyes widen in fear at the sight of the hulking Bugbear coming out of the fog. She watches with distress the precision of his shot and the thickness of his arrows. Surely, this was some kind of leader, a dark and powerful force of evil...

Then she smiles from the corner of her mouth, thinking: He's so big. He can't be that bright...

Once more, she shovels leaves with her arms, showering the Wererat and the Bugbear with blindingly gold leaves.

"Nik'o! Get the big mouse!" she shouts, pointing at the Wererat.

Under heavy fire, Wulfram retreated and healed his wounds, all the while studying the rat-like humanoid.

Rogar sends another blast down, trying to finish off the archer.

Sia stands her ground and waits for an enemy to approach.

Rogar fires another blast at the newly emerged archer. The hobgoblin staggers, barely standing after the powerful attack.

Wulfram backs away from the ravine, calling on the spirits to heal his own wounds. He knows that wererats are resistant to weapons that aren't silver, and can pass their curse along to humanoids that they bite.

Karla hits the wererat and bugbear with glitterdust, blinding both of them! Nik'o moves in and bites the wererat, dragging her to the ground!

Eustoma starts to summon another ally while Sia stands ready to bite anything that draws near.

The injured archer steps into the fog, obscuring it from sight. The other one tries to shoot up at Rogar. He lands a lucky hit that doesn't hurt the dwarf much.

The alchemist's voice calls out from the fog, asking where the big human has gone. The wererat responds, and another bomb flies up towards Wulfram, but shatters harmlessly against the ravine wall!

"Vile elf magic!" the bugbear snarls. He drops his bow and draws twin short swords as he moves up the stairs. "I am Sergeant Scarvinious of the Ironfang Legion, and your hides will decorate my new tent!" Sia bites him and Wulfram stabs him as he gets near, but the wounds barely seems to faze him. He stabs blindly at Wulfram, his blade sinking into the shaman's gut. The bugbear blinks the glitterdust out of his eyes and stares down at Wulfram, grinning savagely.

3 damage to Rogar after DR, 2 damage to Nik'o, 8 damage to Wulfram. I used Wulfram's AoO rolls from last round. Nik'o gets an AoO on the wererat when she stands up. Wulfram must make a DC 13 Fortitude save against poison or take 1 Con damage.

Rogar rolls his eyes at "Scarvinious'" boasting, "Ah, don' get ahead o yerself there, lad. Can ye fly?"
He summons a mass of earth, and blasts it at the bugbear with as much exertion as he can muster, and set to send the sergeant staggering over the edge.

Using 1 point of burn to try and end this boss fight anticlimactically.

The earth slams into Scarvinious, and he fails to grab the edge of the railing as he topples over it. He rolls down the cliffside, sliding down into the fog. Though you can't see him, his loud cursing indicates that he survived the fall.

Falling Damage: 5d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 3, 3, 2) = 14 Half damage due to the angle of the ravine.

Ignoring his own wounds for a moment, Wulfram healed Niko.

DM, I think having them save on my turn, then again at the end of their turn, prevents some of the characters from taking advantage of their first failed save, as they recover before the others have had their turns. I might be making too much of this. Feel free to ignore :)

Karla snarls as the Bugbear boss recovers, but then laughs as Rogar pushes him over the edge. She gives the Dwarf a thumb up!

At Scarvinious, she shouts: "We know you Scarvinious! We have read your love letters in the forest. We took them from their owners' corpses. Do you know us though? We are Phaendar's Defiance! And we will crush your army to dust!"

She then gets her crossbow, loads it, and send a quarrel flying at the blind wererat.

Nik'o snaps at the Wererat as he stands.
