Although the lower decks are ruined, some of the ship is accessible. Notably, the captains cabin's door has been smashed open, and it appears not everything has been washed away. You can also see the larder is intact from here, and a quick glance downstairs to the ruined lower deck reveals the room the Eurypterids were so keen to get into- the Supply Room.
For clarity, the Eurypterids are the sea scorpions, Ambroze identified them by their proper name during a moment of inspiration in the combat.

James gradually calms as he realises that everyone is safe, slinging his sword over his back once more and resting on his knees as he regains his breath. "You okay," he asks Chi, noting her wound, "that looks deep."
"Agreed," James answers Tun'ada with a nod, "we should get off this boat as soon as possible."

Captain’s Cabin: The captain’s cabin is a wreck—a jagged hole in the side has allowed most of the room’s contents to spill out into the surf and wash away. Yet even a cursory search reveals some useful supplies, most of which are found in an overturned desk (fortunately, the desk was too large to fit through the hole in the wall).
One upper drawer contains several keys, while another drawer contains several sea charts and maps, along with the captain’s log. A third, lower desk drawer, is locked.
Finally, a large footlocker leaning against the desk is marked with crude writing, reading Jask Derindi. This footlocker is also locked.

James relaxes a little as he feels his wounds close up, rolling his shoulder around in its socket as he shakes out the tightness.
"Thanks Gwen, that's much better."
James gathers everything he can into his pack, and hefts the footlocker to see if he can lift it, before moving over to help Flute.
"Have you tried the keys?"
James Carmichael
>< I'm so glad we have a party with a good sense of humour.
James Carmichael wrote:"Have you tried the keys?"I've heard worse ideas.
Flute hands the keys to james to get the lock open on the third drawer.
If that fails I assume James will take 20 to break it with me assisting?
RAGE SMASH! :P

Unsurprisingly, James finds a key for both the lower drawer and the footlocker. It also looks like there is a key that would fit Jask's manacles present as well.
The lower drawer contains a bottle of fine brandy, a darkwood model of the Jenivere in a glass bottle, and a small coffer containing 350 gp. Also in this lower drawer is a long leather satchel that holds a dozen labelled potions for emergency use: four potions of cure light wounds, a potion of cure moderate wounds, four potions of lesser restoration, a potion of remove disease, a potion of water breathing, and a potion of water walking.
A DC15 Appraise check is enough to accurately determine the value of these items.
I would like these potions assigned to people before the end of the day and in people's profiles please, not allocating potions and then debating whether someone would have one in a critical situation is a pet bugbear of mine.
The footlocker appears to contain Jask's gear- including a masterwork dagger, a suit of leather armor, two potions, a holy symbol of a two-faced deity, and a spell component pouch.
The holy symbol is a symbol of Nethys, a true neutral deity whose mastery of magic allowed him to gain unparalled power. However, this same power drove the deity mad. He remains neutral for the most part, unless his powers of omnipresent knowledge reveal he is being betrayed or threatened. He particularly allies with those requiring the use of magic, regardless of nefarious or benevolent cause.

James grabs it all, and brings it out to the others for inspection. He does however, hide the brandy for now.
I think gold should remain a party kitty until we reach somewhere it can actually be spent. Thoughts?
Flute
Wouldn't flute see the brandy since he is literally right next to you as you open the drawer?
I agree with the gold being a group item notion.
Flute looks at Gwenyth
Hon, yer definitely right aboot not bringin' it back. No way can a drinker resist a fine bottle o' Molly Fireblossom.Making up a name/brand for the fine bottle of alcohol here If ye don't mind, I'll take a shot o' her and then dump her off above deck and pay me respects. A tragedy for a bottle o' her to go to waste but I agree it must be done.
James Carmichael
Yeah, he would, James just doesn't want anyone to do anything stupid over the booze. It's not like he's going to be making any bluff checks or slight of hand any time soon. This is just for RP.
James nods agreement to the other two.
"We can all pay our respects and drink to the Jenivere's last voyage on the rocks, then we destroy it."
Flute
Gwen nods her approval at the course of action that James suggests.
I think that'd be best. Flute, you are welcome to my nip from the flask. Where I come from, I'm not old enough to drink. Few there drink at all, truth be told.
Flute's eyes grow wide in shockFrost my beard! Whew knew dwarven hell existed on this continent! And you be from thar! By the stones! Flute shakes his head in disbelief.
Lets finish up searchin' tha ship before we pay our dues, eh?
James Carmichael
James chuckles aloud at Flute's talk of 'Molly', and his shock at Gwen's tale.
"We couldn't let the old girl go without a send off now could we?" He answers with a wink, obviously joking with the ambiguity of Molly and Jenivere. "Lets go." He says with a smile to them both, before continuing to search the ship.
Gwenyth
Is everyone OK with the following distributions of potions?
James: 1 potion CMW, 1 potion CLW
Flute: 1 potion CLW, 1 potion Lesser Restoration
Tun'ada: 1 potion CLW
Ambroze: 1 potion CLW, 1 potion Lesser Restoration
Chi: 1 potion CLW, 2 potions Lesser Restoration (of which I assume one will be used now)
Me: 1 potion Remove Disease, 1 potion water breating
As for the potion of water walking, I don't have any preference there. I'd think James could carry it.
Flute
Even without an appraise check you can see this brandy would be worth dozens of gold pieces- and would taste exceptional.
I know it prolly takes an appraise check to value the bottle.. but for roleplay purposes Flute KNOWS the brand and the bottle and knows its quite good. Not top-tier stuff but certianly exceptional. He is a dwarf afterall and would knowa good brew.. even if its not one made by dwarven expertise. Flute doesn't know the gp value of the bottle.. just that its much better than the average brand.

Get Behind me, Satan! LOL!! We're dumping it, I don't care what it's worth. :)
Where to next? Food would be good. Can we check the larder?
James Carmichael
Yeah, it's just not worth the trouble of keeping.
Yeah, I'm happy with that arrangement. As party loot guy I'll just hold on to anything nobody wants yeah? Then we know where everything is. That list seems sensible though.
"Food." James agrees, with a nod, shouldering his pack.
Flute
The list looks great Gwen. Thanks.
Looks like we're aboot done searchin the cappin's stuff.. (or whats left o' it). When we're ready, where should... Flute gets interrupted by Gwen
Food sounds like a great idea me girl! We'll need plenty o' it as well as supplies. We're gonna need a place to sleep tonight and that requires supplies.

Chi speaks to Gwyneth, "Ja, ij kan forstå du"
Chi, watches on as the group find various things in the captain's room, she smiles when someone gives her some potions and sees Jask's possessions are found. "Do you want me to take Jask's things to him?" Chi looks specifically around for usable tools as they visit the ships rooms. She is looking for thieves tools specifically.
DM Alexander Kilcoyne
Chatting amonst themselves, the group make their way to the larder, entering through what remains of the door.-
Larder: Although the majority of the Jenivere’s food stores were kept in the now-missing cargo below, enough preserved rations are stored here to supply a single person with food for 24 days. Stashed behind some foodstuffs lies the dead body of the Chef...
Sorry Chi missed your update- no thieves tools yet...
Gwenyth
Gwen gently brushes James aside. Don't worry, I have seen death many times before, both of natural and...unnatural causes. Her eyes glaze over slightly, as though she is remembering something, but she quickly snaps back to the task at hand.
Heal (to determine what James asked above): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Flute
Its not the cause of death we were concerned about, me girl but the one whose dead.
Just know when we figure out everything, how we got poisoned, how we got shipwrecked, how are we gonna get rescued, how are we gonna survive in this hellhole.. if anyones responsible for this shalestorm they'll be payin' the price.
Any dwarf worth his stones is taught to never accept gifts from an elf, never trust gold that glows in darkness, and most of all, NEVER forget a grudge.

Master Rambar was not cruel, but I held no great love for him either way. I knew him only for a short time, as such things are reckoned.
AK, what's the volume of the food? Can we carry it, if we distribute it? I'm sure James is going to run out of room in his pack...

AK, what's the volume of the food? Can we carry it, if we distribute it? I'm sure James is going to run out of room in his pack...
It was 24 day's worth of food- so enough to feed all of you plus the castaways for about 2/3 days. Small creatures eat 1/2 as much as medium.
James Carmichael
I've assumed I left most of my gear at the camp, so my pack was mostly empty to start. For example I certainly don't have all my trail rations with me on the boat. 24 days trail rations is carryable. All the non-weapons and armour stuff I have on me from my equipment is: Caltrops, Map Case, Crowbar, Grappling Hook, Ten Foot Pole, 50ft Rope, Whistle. This is a masterwork backpack too, so I can carry a lot. Speaking of which...
Once they group have finished expecting the body, James gathers the food and puts the papers found in his waterproof map case.
Chi T'reignial
Chi sees the Rambar dead, and involuntarily she sheds a tear. "He was good to me, he didn't give me up to the captain, but fed me and kept me whole." Perhaps he wasn't as two faced as she thought then. She looks pensively and quietly makes a suggestion"ummm, maybe we should find the ship's shipwright's store or carpenter's workshop we might find tools there. They could come in very handy to make shelters, or even a boat."
Aid Heal 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Knowledge(Animal) to identify the bite marks.1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
James Carmichael
Masterwork backpack gives me an effective +1 str to carry gear, so we're the same. ;)
James nods quietly as Chi speaks. "He was a good bloke, couldn't cook to save his life, but a good bloke. Lets hope the rest of the crew met a less gruesome fate."
Alex, we make 16 with Chi's assist.
