Upon a dark night each of you have a present and message delivered to you. The papayrus message is titled with your full name to make sure there is no confusion who it is for. The paper and wooden box are in a location that only you would find, a place that no one could easily get to except perhaps a ghost.
Hero,
Yes you are a hero and one who's accomplishments are known. The order of the Crimson Knights of the Black Blade looks for the best to accept into our fold, we believe you are one of those individuals. We begin a new venture and look for individuals that best fit the role.
If you accept this chance follow the instructions on the back of this message but first offer your blood to the order. The mithral dagger is the tool to use to offer as much or little blood that you choose. Once offered I will be able to communicate with you and you may ask as many questions as you like.
Your future captain,
Delman Fredrel Vortani III
Regional Captain of Crimson Knights of the Black Blade

SkyCaptain Keeya Swift |

Ill be posting under spoilers until I have Keeya meet the other PCs
The Silver wind was speeding thought the sky's on root to an abandoned tower of rock that was seven days journey away.
It was doing so because Keeya has received a letter from one Delman Fredrel Vortani III, Regional Captain of Crimson Knights of the Black Blade. After showing it her father, they and her brother had talked will into the night about what it meant. She was told SkyClan Swift had had for the last three years dealings with the "Blades" as they called them. Mostly just transposition and mostly to places other did not like to do it. This was not publicly known, because the SkyClan Swift did not side with any particular groups. Bad for business, but the "Blades" where an order of hero knights, Fighters of evil that most kept well away from. Of late there had been more and more trouble "evil" that last being the Half-Demons pack army.
"It seems your deeds in that fight have not gone unnoticed Keeya"
Her father said handing her back the letter and blade.
"Yes but what dos its mean?"
She asked
"Don't be dense Sis" Her brother said from his seat "The Blades are asking you to join their ranks. High honour sis, you’re going to be a lady knight, blood oath the whole deal. I hope they put you in the silly looking full plate stuff Nobles ware" He laughed at his own joke.
She throw a vegetable off her plate at him.
"Tinus! This is no joking matter and Keeya please try not to cover the Cabin in food."
Her father smiled, they were in the newly built cabin of the newly rebuilt home-Ship Red mood. Once more flying and fully crewed. Waiting for her new Caption, She had hoped it would be her, but now this?
"Join them?"
Her father nodded.
"Yes they want you in their ranks; you would be the fist from the Clan to do so. It is indeed high honour but it would mean you doing there bidding and not the clans. This would be a problem if not for the fact the Clans aims and the Blades are so close at the moment. Stemming the rise of evil that now under-way in the skies and lands right now and let me make this clear Keeya, it would be very advantageous for the Clan to have a eyes and ears in the blades. Should you do well, even a voice for us in their ranks. But the decision has to be yours, they don't take conscripts. But should you chose to it would help us greatly."
She thought on that a moment
"What if I don't like it, or they are not what they seem"
She said worriedly.
"Then resign your commission sis, if they force you to stay once in then they are not want they say they are, a force for good. But I know you, any change of heroics and your there it’s in your blood you know."
O how she wanted to throw more things at him, the ... but he was telling the truth, she did always look for the fight, always the mad-dash. Life was so.. dull without it. And then her breath, great things the wind-reader had said. Her brother never let her forget it.
Her father gave him a look and he was still, then to her he said.
"Well Keeya it’s up to you, but should you agree to this, I can lone you the Silver-Wind for a while. It’s a lone, any hint of trouble you send her back, and she's not for the Blades to use. I want everything on her back and the Boat itself understood."
He waited until she nodded.
"Good, well she's the fastest way to get you to where ever they need you should you want to go. I suggest you head up to her now and have a think. There is good air tonight so your clear leave the fleet."
He stood and when she did as well, he hugged her, Holding her at arm’s length he said.
"I am proud of you Keeya no matter what you choose, just as I am of all my children. Now take your brother with you can say goodnight or good bye to your mother"
It had been that simple, such was the way of air folk. She had said her good buys and that night set off.
Now she was sat in her cabin holding a blade to the palm of her hand.
Blood they had said, well best get this over with. As the Silver Wind pass high over the lands she cut her hand and looked on as a small red line formed in her hand.
"So Regional Captain Vortani are your there??, this is SkyCaptain Keeya Swift on the Sky-Boat Silver Wind on root to you, are your there??"
She felt so stupid.
Let’s see what happens

Without giving any thought to the reactions of the bodyguards, Flame concentrated and thought back to the time he had been wounded by the hill giant's boulder. With a quick prayer to his goddess, Flame transformed himself into a literal flame. He swiftly glided through the rocks and grabbed the box, then glided back out.
The guards quickly composed themselves as Flame returned to his usual tiefling form and opened the box. He quickly skimmed over the message, then read it again because Taldane was not his strongest language. Flame then hobbled back into the encampment as fast as his bad leg would carry him while wearing full plate. Which was about a normal walking speed for his lightly armored guards.
Flame turned to one of his guards. "Inform Serra to meet me in my tent as soon as she is ready." Flame returned to his tent and waited. Several minutes later, Serra arrived.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Flame notices the tell-tale gleam of mithril from a dagger hanging on Serra's belt, a dagger that he had never seen before. Then his eyes are drawn to the blood-red papyrus scroll in her hands. Flame smiles.
"Crimson Knights?" Without waiting for a response: "It seems we will need to find two capable replacements. Have you offered them your blood yet?"

SkyCaptain Keeya Swift |

Nothing humm maybe she was just doing it wrong,
Then a call came out from below, the look out.
A ground pick up single for the Army of hope.
The Silver-Wind was just under-way and the large army was encamp all over the hills. She put the knife and letter away in her bag.
Going to the flight deck she looked down.
"What do you see"
"A pick up single, mama, half banner so I don't think more than four. Baring 112 and 500 feet mama"
It was the ships Messenger Pseudodragon Dragon who was acting as look out this witch.
"It's Nex is it not, well spotted Nex, right, well nex lets go have a look"
She walked over to the control wheels where the 1st mate stood.
"bring her down 1st mate, bearing 112 and 450 feet, place her just above the hill crest and hold her there."
"Aye Aye mama"
The wing like elemental control surfaces moved by pully, cable and wheel. The air-Boat banked and started to drop under the control of the 1st mate. Slowing it came down to the signal flags.
"NOW HEAR THIS ALL HANDS ON DECK, ALL HANDS ON DECK, READY FOR ACTION THIS MAY BE A TRIP, I WANT AIR GUNS MANNED AND READY, COUNTER BARDING UP."
She went over to the telescope and looked at who had ordered asked for a ride.

Flame Demonspawn |

You see a human soldier, probably Andoran in origin, in full plate, carrying the banner of the Army of Hope, a heavily altered symbol of the Silver Crusade (because open worship of Sarenrae is still officially illegal in Taldor). Flanking him is a small honor-guard of three human soldiers in chain shirt, carrying longspears. As the air guns begin to rotate, the 3 guards tense up, but the standard bearer seems perfectly calm.

Serra the Blessed |

Serra sat up in her room, meditating. It was well into the small hours of the morning and even in the army encampment things had quieted down. She had always been a light sleeper, and after her visions began she found it difficult to sleep except in fits and starts. When she was unable to sleep, she the teachings of the old varisian woman in Kenabres useful. Sitting crosslegged on her bunk, she looked inward, searching for the passage that had been revealed to her by the crone. Within moments she opened her eyes and the world was transformed. Gone were the permanent red glow that covered the world, in its place, the contents of her tent were limned in ghostly shades of silver.
She focused her will and drifted upwards, through the roof of the tent before landing lightly atop it. Looking outwards she saw the entirety of the army camp with its ordered rows and clusters of tents before her vision faded to a grey haze off near the horizon. A sense of wonder filled her as she scanned around, her sight unburdened by the eternal wall of ash and embers that normally limited her sight to a few dozen feet. Even if it didn't quite replace sleep, she found such meditation a tranquil way to pass time in the night.
The battle went well, and the cleanup was as swift and orderly as can be expected, she thought to herself. Flame's unit had seen some of the heaviest fighting, and she was glad to have been able to serve in it. They had bested many demons, a deed that brought her a deep sense of peace. I should go tomorrow among the citizens and see if I can help some. I doubt there will be any need for me on the front lines for some time now. As she pondered the morrow, she noticed something out of the corner of her eye. A small light, the size of a wisp, streaked into her tent. Concerned by the speed with which it had flown in, she immediately lowered herself into the tent. There on the bunk she saw her body still seated in a trance, and before it a glowing form, a box of some sort.
She drifted down and was amazed to find that it seemed to be entirely ethereal in nature, she could not "see" any physical presence to it, unlike her body or the bunk. She reached down to touch it, and as she grabbed hold of it the box exploded with energy. The force of the blast was enough to break her concentration, and she awoke a few moments later back within her tent. To her surprise, the box, now physically present, was still within her hands. Opening the box, she found a dagger, and a note addressed to her.
Reading through the note, she wondered who this order was. Curious about the blood ritual described on the back, she set the page down and began to focus her thoughts. Visions flashed through her mind, glimpses of the great knowledge locked within the memories of the dragon who occupied her nightmares.
Tireless Logic: Roll twice, take better; Focused Trance: +20 to check
Knowledge(Arcana); Tireless Logic; Focused Trance: 1d20 + 12 + 20 ⇒ (3) + 12 + 20 = 351d20 + 12 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 12 + 20 = 34
When her eyes opened again she knew that the ritual was indeed safe, and that it would have the desired effect. Taking the blade in her hand, she traced it across the palm of her hand, watching as drops of crimson formed along the line and began running together into a rivulet of blood. She balled her fist and squeezed, allowing the blood to fall on the arcane seal emblazoned upon the parchment. Having finished, she stowed the box in her backpack and wiped the dagger clean before placing it on her belt.
Now let us see who this Captain Vortani is. As she began to attempt to reach out with her mind, a courier entered the tent. "Ma'am, Flame has asked to see you in his tent immediately."
She gathered her gear quickly and donned her armor, knowing she might need to leave the encampment soon. Heading to Flame's tent straightaway, she waited outside until he motioned her in. When he immediately made note of the parchment and dagger, she caught offguard for a moment, but quickly recovered.
"I have indeed. I had to think on it for a while, but the ritual is indeed a method of linking two people so that they may communicate at a distance. Given the how it was delivered and the contents, I figured it was safe enough to try. I've not heard anything via the link yet though."
After a few moments she adds, "Do you know how we can get to the place mentioned in the note? It will be quite a journey on foot or horseback."
At the Landing
As the airship descends, another figure rushes up the the group of men awaiting its arrival. Clad in silver and red robes beneath a silvery breastplate emblazoned with a red wing, and bearing a greatsword and pack on her back, a tall golden-haired woman moves up past the honor-guard and takes her place next to the soldier in plate. Unlike the others, her eyes do not lift up to gaze at the airship, though it is clear she hears the ship when it touches down.

It took a while. The number of pesh dens and smokey taverns in the docks district of the great city was rather substantial. Finally, she found him sitting at the back of dark smokey room, smoke seeping from his mouth as he took a long drag on some type of a pesh smoking device. The room was so filled with smoke that she did not know how anyone survived for more than a few moments. She had visited such places on rare occasions in Katapesh, but did not realize that the use of this drug was so prevalent in Taldor as well. She considered this for a moment before realizing that with the decline from its once great glory, many in Oppara and other parts of Taldor undoubtedly would seek escape in places such as this.
Not wishing to remain in the smoke filled room any longer than necessary, Xenia cleared her throat. When this resulted in no response, she did this again a little louder. Once more the man simply stayed where he was, lost in whatever drug induced reverie he was experiencing. Finally, she kicked the man in the ankle, hoping that his sense of touch was not as affected by the pesh as was his hearing and sight.
The kick elicited a response, albeit a slow one as though the man were slowly waking from a long sleep in a bowl of molasses. Finally, the man opened his eyes and stared at her. After what seemed an eternity, he spoke what seemed like a riddle.
Where east meets west;
Trade spice, land without crest;
North still, giant rule;
Water deep, ice cool;
Still fall, frost deceive;
Ware torch, ziel believe;
Care escape, back trade;
High edge, giant parade;
Tower black, sight evade;
Red night, dark blade.
With that, the mans eyes once more became blurry and he returned to deeply inhaling the strange smoke.
Shaking her head in bewilderment, Xenia left the smoke filled room and returned to the shore to think on what had been said. She had been told that she would receive her missive from this man. But, she did not think that it would be a riddle at best. Nonetheless, she pulled out a sheaf of parchment and wrote down what he had said before beginning to attempt to discern the garbled riddle.
After some time, and speaking with several scholars, she determined that East meeting West must be the northern Taldan city of Yanmass where long caravans from the strange eastern lands arrived to trade with the Inner Sea, the West. North of Yanmass lies the Fog Peaks, a dangerous realm of ice and fog covered mountains which are eternally cold and inhabited by dangerous frost giants. How she was to find a tunnel in this place, she was unsure. However, she managed to find a short passage written by a bard nearly a century earlier speaking of a waterfall frozen in time, frozen solid.
If this frozen waterfall existed, then there must be some passage behind it with something hidden within. And, once she found this, then she would have to return to Yanmass, and seek a dark tower somewhere in another place filled with giants. Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, Taldor's eastern border, the World's Edge Mountains are rumored to be inhabited by many giants. Finally, when she was almost ready to give up all hope on the last few passages, she found reference to a dark tower within the World's Edge Mountains, well southeast of the dwarven city of Maheto.
Hoping to have deciphered the riddle, Xenia booked passage to Yanmass and then purchased a horse to head north. She did not like traveling alone, but knew that this was a secret mission and she did not wish to put others in danger to recover an item meant only for her.
North of Yanmass, she found the rumored frozen waterfall, but not until she had lost her horse to a surprise attack by two frost giants. She had evaded the giants and hidden, but her steed had not been as fortunate. When she saw the giants, she knew that she would not be able to outrun them, so she dove into a deep cold lake and stayed beneath the water using her ability to breath water. After an hour, the giants had apparently given up, and took her horse, in pieces, back with them, presumptively as their next meal.
After swimming across the small lake, she surfaced and found herself looking at the most amazing sight. Hidden from view except when on, or in, the lake, was a waterfall frozen solid and extending several hundred feet up into the mountains above. Hoping that the riddle was correctly interpreted, she once more dove beneath the icy surface and swam beneath where the silent frozen waterfall entered the lake. There, she found a place where the waterfall appeared to enter the water, but was actually a mirage, a reflection. She swam through this and found a dry, but frozen cavern hidden on the other side, accessible only from beneath the frigid water, which would have undoubtedly have killed her if she had not somehow become resistant to the effects of cold. When she climbed out, she still shivered, but knew that she would be fine, although wet and uncomfortable for a time.
The cave was pitch black other than a sliver of light reflecting through the frozen waterfall. Xenia was about to light a torch, when she recalled the riddle's warning. Instead, she pulled out a magical unburning stick and used this for light instead. What the light revealed was a cavern several dozen yards tall with thousands of icicles hanging down like frozen spears. She realized that the heat from the torch would likely have caused these icicles to fall, impaling any standing in the cavern. Slowly, Xenia made her way across the slippery surface and on the far side found a small chest hidden in a pocket in the ice. The chest was unlocked and within she found a parchment and a mithral dagger.
Not wanting to remain in the icy death trap any longer than necessary, Xenia place the parchment in a waterproof scroll case and took the dagger and set forth to return to Yanmass, and thence onward to the World's Edge Mountains.
No longer having a horse, Xenia decided to instead swim across the lake and then down the river figuring that the flowing water would speed her return to Taldor. It took two days of swimming before she reached the civilized, if you can call norther Taldor civilized, part of the land. On the first night, she made a fire to warm up and took out the parchment to examine if. After reading it, she was hesitant. Magic was not her strong suit. Anything one could poke with a blade she could deal with, but strange arcane magics always worried her. Nonetheless, after considering all that she had been put through, she poked her finger with the blade and allowed a few drops to fall on the parchment. When she heard no response, she decided that whoever, or whatever, had left the parchment was otherwise engaged and would contact her later.
After returning to Yanmass, Xenia purchased another light riding horse and made for Maheto with all haste. Two days later, she was once more equipping for an excursion into dangerous giant infested mountains. Five days of climbing, hiking, and hiding, usually in lakes and ponds, Xenia now stands on the saddle of two tall peaks. Below her on a shoulder of one of the peaks she sees the tower. Old, black and clearly in need of repairs. What will await here there, she does not know. But, this is the life she has chosen. A life of helping others, and whatever is here, it is the end of the riddle.
The Crimson Knights of the Black Blade. Clearly that is what the last phrase of the riddle was indicating. Who or what they are, she did not know. But, she was sent here by those who fight for good. So, with a stretch of her neck, and a careful check to make sure her buckler and rapier were in place, Xenia began to make her way down toward the tower. Her future lay ahead and she was ready to see what it held.

Flame Demonspawn |

At that point, a soldier barges into the tent. "Sir, Milady. The delegation was sent to hurry after the Silver Wind, a skyship captained by Sky Captain Keeya Swift. The Swift family seem to have guessed your destination before we even got a chance to tell them and believes that she too is headed there. If you hurry, you should catch them."
At the Landing
The airship continues to descend.
A Tiefling man in full plate hobbles up to the group, obviously favoring his left leg. He has red skin and flowing black hair. At his side is a very fine scimitar, a warhammer made of cold iron, and the tell-tale mithril dagger.
Everybody present salutes the Tiefling who salutes them back. He says a few words to the Andoran who looks surprised. Everybody salutes the Andoran who starts returning to camp in a hurry along with the three guards.

Aref al-Arzani |

The wagon was certainly not the palanquins his family had owned back home, nor was it a university owned carriage with apéritifs and cushioned seats. It was, however one of the only transports Aref could find to the patch of land indicated by the mysterious note he had received nights before and luxury was the first thing to be sacrificed when unneeded. Looking up from his piece of parchment he saw that the meeting place had attracted several others already.
The note's arrival had not been all that dramatic, he had found it in his locked and still secured study, sitting upon a several pages he had spent the previous evening transcribing. To his annoyance, the box's arrival had smudged the ink before it had time to finish drying, ruining his evening's work. Such strange communications rarely came without an expected service, and he certainly did not offer up any blood. There were many fell magics that could turn a man's blood against him and thus far the alleged Captain had done little to earn Aref's trust. It would take more than some platitudes and vague promises to earn that. While Aref's enemies were often not the most dramatic, he had something of a rogue's gallery that would not mind seeing him dead or indisposed.
Knowledge (History): 10 + 9 = 19
Knowledge (Local): 10 + 11 = 21
Knowledge (Nobility): 10 + 8 = 18
Knowledge (Geography): 10 + 8 = 18
Regardless, this note required some consideration and so Aref found himself on a turnip cart traveling to an abandoned tower while transcribing a rite to Erastil to pay for the trip. The cart came to a stop under the airship and Aref scattered some ponce over the ink to quickly dry it before handing it to the farmer.
"Read the rite, burn the finest example of your previous crop and bury the ashes with the indicated tithe in the center of your field. If Erastil is pleased by your offering, he will bless your crop. Peace be upon you, friend," Aref said, giving a half bow to the farmer before turning and idly regarding the others gathered at the tower. He cast an eye upwards and hesitated.
Aref was not the most handsome man the gathered had likely seen. His Keleshite looks gave him an air of the exotic but his otherwise noble seeming features were a touch average. Idle concern and curiosity mixed in his sharp and intelligent eyes. He dressed very well in flowing black garments more suited to the desert than the current locale but well-tailored and no doubt hiding modifications to suit the climate. The edges were embroidered with tight geometric patterns in silver and gold that belied his very humble arrival, as did the heavy bladed sword that hung from his sash.
Collecting himself, he bowed to the others, "Peace be upon you," he started and began to move around them.

SkyCaptain Keeya Swift |

At the Landing
As the silver wind comes closer Keeya look at the small group below with the Ships telescope. Mounted on the on a ring that meant it could be moved around to see all sides. She was frigidity, Taking out the dagger and slipping it into her boot. She looked back at the group, not quit knowing what to do. The magic with in could strip away most illusions. She had to check for the sight that meet her eyes was an odd one. Four knights, one an offer as she had seen the others salute him. With him was what Keeya at 1st took for a human girl. But then she had spotted the eyes, Aasimar no mistaking the looks and eyes there. Their where a lot of them in the Army of Hope, no that was not what had her looking down the spy glass with some shock. The officer was a Tiefling she was sore of it. Will they looked right, The Demon hoard just did not have the brains to craft a trap this well. The flags, amour all seem right. She made up her mind. They had the call pendent flying so there was little she could do.
"Bring her over them 1st mate, 50' hight, stay ready, I think we need to find out just who has called us"
Image of the Silver Wind Sky Boat."
The Sky boat came to a halt overhead some 50'. You see above you a woman walk to the bow then step off, she falls then at 20 feet you see she was holding a rope. She lets go and falls the last 30' land lightly just in front of you. She lands like someone who has jumped off a small wall.
Straitening up she bows to you all.
Image of Sky Captain Keeya Swift
She is tall and thin, standing just over 6', no amour, but the uniform of the Sky-Ship Captain. The silver and blue wings on her breast confirm as much. On her hip is a holstered gun of some kind. Her hair is white and seems to be blowing in the wind even thou down on the ground there is none. Her eyes are orbs of blue, blue with in blue and her skin light coloured with a tint of blue. On her forehead is a summoners Sigal. She says in a voice with a strange windswept lift.
"We spotted the pendent of calling, and as is the standing orders of the Army of hope, We came to offer such aid as we can. I am Sky Captain Keeya Swift of the Sky Clan swift. The craft above you is the Sky Boat Silver wind. May I ask who you may be and what aid you seek from us."
She says this three times, in Auran (fluent), Celestial (novice) and Common (novice).
She seems none to worried by you, but then again who would be give the fact two very large air-Cannons are pointing at your group from above.
She has a Mithral Dagger like your in her boot sheath.

Serra the Blessed |

When the thin white-haired woman appeared above her, falling, Serra was already looking in her general direction. Being of limited sight, she had long since learned to glean clues off of others as to what was happening beyond the veil. She knew from the sound and Flame and the others' glances upwards that the vessel was somewhere above her. Furthermore, the subtle look of surprise when the captain jumped off the ship let her know that something or someone was on their way down. Nevertheless, she was somewhat surprised by the wispy woman's graceful landing.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Her uniform was obviously well kept, and the insignia pegged her as a Sky Captain. Serra had heard of the Sky Clan and their fantastic vessels before, although she had never had an occasion to interact with one before. I'll have to make time to meditate once we're aboard. I'd love to be able to see the entire Sky Boat. Focusing again on the captain, she noticed a familiar hilt jutting from one of her boots. This can't be coincidence...
Speaking Taldane (Common)
"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Sky Captain," she said, bowing gracefully. "This," she said gesturing at the tiefling standing beside her, "is one of the leaders of the Army of Hope, Flame Demonspawn. I am his Lieutenant, Serra," she added matter-of-factly. "As far as what we need, I would say that we wish only lodging aboard your ship, since it would appear we all are headed to the same location," she said with a smile as she drew the dagger in her belt out so Keeya could see it.

SkyCaptain Keeya Swift |

At the landing site
Keeya's eyes go wide for a moment. Then she talks to her crew.
"1st mate stand the crew down, and bring the Silver Wind to 10', drop a boarding ramp."
She talks in a normal tone yet you can see they must have heard her words on the Sky boat. The Air cannons are locked back in to there bays and the ship sinks down to just above the floor. A ramp then slides down.
Wile it dos this Keeya's says.
"A pleasure to make your acquaintance as well, and it seems like me you have been called. Our meeting then was the will of GreatSkyWinds."
She steps up smiling, the ramp slides down with a clank.
"Will you be the only one joining me Lieutenant or will your fellows here also be needing a berth?"

Flame Demonspawn |

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Standing before you is a tiefling with light red skin and jet black hair that comes just below his helmet. Within his helmet, his eyes glow like two small fires. He seems a little bit lost in thought. Snapping out of it, he turns to Serra and says in deep, accented Taldane, "Former leader now."
"Well met, Captain. I am General Flame. I commanded the Army of Hope during the battle of New Actuss, but have just transferred command to the Eagle Knight you just saw leave. Ser - I mean now - General Leandros informed us that your father believed we were headed in the same direction. It seems he was correct." Flame gestures toward the mithril dagger on his own belt. "We would be honored to travel with you to the rendezvous point for the Crimson Knights. As for the new general and his guards, they have business to attend to, leading the army home and all that, so it will just be the two of us. Permission to come aboard?"

Aref al-Arzani |

Whoops, misread a few of the previous posts. Please ignore the mentions I made of the skyship and those boarding it.
Aref stood at the base of the tower, shielding his eyes as he gazed upwards. It looked old but sound enough for a meeting. The out of the way location and mysterious method of delivery screamed ambush to him and he still had so much work to do transcribing his notes for the Cartographer's Guild in Absalom. They were a pushy bunch and would refuse to pay his full commission if he was late.
Of course, someone who could sneak into a locked study and merely leave a dramatic missive was not the sort to be left to their own devices.
So Aref decided to handle things his way. Unslinging his shield and the heavy pack from his shoulders he unpacked his tent and with a bit of ingenuity turned it into a small pavilion to provide shade against the side of the tower. A few minutes later and he had a small fire going, the smoke rising up alongside the tower and announcing his presence to any that might happen by. A few minutes more and he had a pot of fragrant coffee brewing upon the fire. The picture of nonchalance, he reclined beside the fire to await someone's arrival.

As she made her way along the edge of the mountain, traversing along an old game trail, Xenia suddenly saw what appeared to be a fire and a moment smoke rising up. She shook her head as she saw this. I hope whoever is making that fire knows that it can be seen for miles around here, and nothing friendly lives near here.
An hour of tough trekking later and Xenia had arrived at the edge of the mountain scrub. Ahead lay a clearing of some size and in the middle stood the old black tower.
Strange, probably some long forgotten magic from whoever built this tower on this godforsaken mountain.
Nonetheless, the riddle that had lead her here seemed to indicate that this was where she was to meet with whoever else was involved in this Crimson Knights of the Black Blade group. Checking her rapier once more to assure that it was loose and ready to be drawn if necessary, Xenia stepped from the trees and moved carefully across the vegetationless landscape toward the fire.
As she drew near, she saw the man sitting there, apparently completely unaware of the dangers that existed in the mountains about here, and were assuredly watching.
Good evening, are you Captain Vortani?

Hymn |

The wing like elemental control surfaces moved by pully, cable and wheel. The air-Boat banked and started to drop under the control of the 1st mate. Slowing it came down to the signal flags.
"NOW HEAR THIS ALL HANDS ON DECK, ALL HANDS ON DECK, READY FOR ACTION THIS MAY BE A TRIP, I WANT AIR GUNS MANNED AND READY, COUNTER BARDING UP."
She went over to the telescope and looked at who had ordered asked for a ride.
Hymn, after hearing the call of "all hands on deck",rushes to the top of the deck. The night before their meeting he found the same box and dagger Captain Keeya had made mention of, only with his name this time. Being unsure of what he should do, he remained in the cabin for most that day contemplating if he could keep his promise to the Captain if they did not make the same decision. Before heading to the top of the ship to perform his sworn duty Hymn glances out.
[Perception]1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7Hymn not seeing what they were headed towards, made his way quickly to the SkyCaptains side. Nodding only in acknowledgement that he was there to fulfill his normal duty. After whatever this is, he will speak with the Captain about the letter.
** spoiler omitted **Standing before you is a tiefling with light red skin and jet black hair that comes just below his helmet.
** spoiler omitted **
Standing quietly next to his Captain after Flame speaks, Hymn speaks mentally to her.
[Sense Motive]1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30Telepathy(Keera): I believe he is telling the truth, although with his heritage I would not trust him. I have encounter many like him before, they lie very well. If you would like I can cut him down.
Hymn slightly steps forward with hand resting on his blade waiting for an order.

SkyCaptain Keeya Swift |

Keeya dos not look back as Hymn comes to her side.
"He hates it when I jump ship like that, I should not make him worry so."
Her father had sent Hymn to the Silver Wind just before it set off. Hymn the Jinn was a hero in the Sky-Ship ranks. For his brave acts in the battle.
"I'm sending Hymn with you, there is none braver in my ranks Keeya, he is sworn to protect you as best he can. You can release him of duty at any time, but I get you, let him do it until you get to where your going"
She he was with her, She liked him, he was brave, brave in a way only the tails of odd tell you. But other than that the Ginn was still a mystery to her. Well they would have time to talk on the trip.
Then after the General Flame stops talking, Hymn always mistrustful thinks to her his miss giving. She looks at Ginn.
"Hymn this is General Flame, who I was told at the hight of the battle tock command of the counter attack and lead it all the way to the city walls. He was also so my father says, one of the voices who for many years warned of the rising tide of Evil that is now threatening us all. My father speaks very highly of you General Flame it is an honour to meet you."
She bows to him once more, you note she calls him General still.
Then to you all.
"This is Hymn the Ginn, in Sky sailor ranks he's a hero for his bravery in the battle just. Hymn looks after ships security, and note I trust him with my life."
She Smiles then leeds them up onto the Silver Wind.
"1st mate, reset to previous heading, High 1000 feet, speed 24 Knots."
"Aye Aye mama, reset to previous heading, High 1000 feet, speed 24 Knots."
Comes the reply.
The ramp pulls back in and the Sky-Boat rises once more into the air, soon it is making 24 Knots.
"So then lets all go to my Cabin, we can talk there. I note General flame you to have a dagger. I think we need to talk over things"
She leads the way to the back of the Air-Boat, this is comfortable sized Cabin and map room in one. Keeya rolls up some maps to make room as a cabin boy comes in with some Wine and classes. There is seating for all.
Please have a seat, and lets just have this out. I was given this"
She takes it out of her pouch, you can tell the pouch is magic as the letter is longer that it.
"Letter from one Delman Fredrel Vortani III, did you have a smiler experience?"
She looks at ever one but Hymn.
hope that did not up set any one, just wanted to set things. up.

Aref al-Arzani |

"Ah, no," the man said with a slight smile, "It seems our mutual contact has either yet to arrive or is waiting for a dramatic moment to make his presence known. As such I figured I'd make myself some kahve while I wait. Would you care for a cup, miss?"
He twisted a strainer within the pot and produced a travel mug from somewhere, "Ah, I appear to have only packed one cup for this trip. Please, you are a guest at my fire and tent, you may have the first cup." Without waiting for a response, he poured the bitter looking brew into a cup, added a hearty dollop of condensed milk and a dash of hearty spices. Mixing it with a flourish, he offered the steaming cup to the lady without hesitation.

Serra the Blessed |

Aboard the Silver Wind
After a tense moment with the arrival of Hymn, Serra relaxes when Keeya diffuses the situation. A Janni for a bodyguard? The Sky Clan truly lives up to its reputation if a member of Geniekind is in their service. When Keeya introduces him, Serra bows slightly and addresses him in what sounds something like the crackle and roar of a fire: "عناصر متحدة في وئام، وكذلك هي جن دوا"
She speaks a traditional Janni greeting: "Elements united in harmony, so are the jann born."
When they sit down in the cabin and the captain unfurls her note, Serra digs out her own note and places it on the table. As it unrolls it's clear that the parchment has already been marked with blood.
"I received mine last night. Whoever this Captain Vortani is, he was able to deliver the box with the scroll and dagger to my tent, but within the Astral Plane version of it. When I touched it both I and the box were shunted back here," Serra says. While she appears to be an otherwise typical crusader, it is clear she has a great deal of knowledge on the subject.
"I wonder how many other recruits there are out there? That there are three of us already makes me think that there are likely others as well," she says, looking down at the parchment.

Flame Demonspawn |

Flame reaches into his backpack and pulls out a similar papyrus along with a small wooden box that you all recognize as the one that came along with the note. He places the box on the table.
"I found this box yesterday after it appeared to me in a dream. The insignia matches one I saw over 46 years ago in another dream I had after many prayers to my goddess. That initial dream was the reason I first set out from Sothis to Absalom on your father's skyship, Captain. By the way, you may all simply call me Flame." He takes a sip of wine. "It is as you say. My letter is from this Delman person. I have not done the blood offering, but Serra assures me that it is safe, as she seems to have a letter asking the same of her. I intend to proceed with it when it is next convenient."

Hymn |

"I apologize General Flame." Hymn pauses. "I have encountered your kind before. I did not know you knew Keeya's father."Hymn bows with respect to Keeya's decision and to Flame.
Telepathy(Keera)(while he is speaking with Flame): As you wish. We do not know these others. Maybe speak with them outside the cabin? Or at least ask them to leave their weapons outside... Please remember how I first came to meet you and your father.
The night came, the Captain invited Hymn and his father for a drink in his cabin. Only several days after they met. Mostly likely based on the relationship that Hymn and the Captain built. He trusted the Jinn, maybe too much. When the door closed Hymn struck at the Captain, at the request of his father. A glancing blow caught the Captain in the shoulder. With a quick leap, the Captain had his own trick though. A small air cannon hidden which aimed at the door, blasted Hymn. Staggering back feeling like he would die, Hymn went into the Ethereal plane to escape the next blast which was certain to come. Hymn's father(fat pompous man) was left calling for Hymn to return. Hymn's father tried to strike at the Captain but was cut down in a mighty blow.
Hymn being injured, finds himself being summoned by his father who is in dire need. Before he is fully summoned, somehow stuck between the ethereal plane and the material world, watches as his father is split in two by a mighty cleave from Keeya's Father which also destroys the ring by which he is being held….Hymn felt the shock from that same blow, knocking him unconscious. When he awoke he was surrounded by the crew of the Skyship and it's Captain which he was meant to kill, but no longer felt that urge. He almost felt a sense of relief; he no longer was under the control of that ring. Even death would have been better than the control of Sulesh and his Father.
Hymn awoke for the first time free from all compulsions of Sulesh and his father. He no longer need to follow the orders of the demon army either. He also awoke surrounded by a crew which could of easily killed him. The Captain must have seen something in Hymn, a kindness or sadness, because at that moment he showed mercy. Mercy which Hymn knew he did not deserve. To that he owed the Captain a debt, one which he would pay back in full. After some time Hymn seen this man as a friend, not just someone he owed. Hymn would rarely talk to anyone other than Keeya's father, sometimes it would seem they would converse without saying a word.
Keeya, if we need to change any of this let me know.
Sense Motive(Serra): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Hymn bows in Serra's direction. Not keeping his eyes off of the new adventures.
(Assuming in Cabin)
Hymn takes a firm stance behind Keeya as the others sit at the table. The blue in his eyes swirling violently with elemental power.
Telepathy(Keera): Please be ready to plane shift if things go bad Captain. Some point after this meeting there is also a matter which I will need to discuss with you. It may pertain to this matter.

Donovan Dyne |

Donovan sat in his chamber within the temple, staring at the strange box and the stranger message which had somehow been slipped into his private lockbox in the temple vault. Whoever had done it could have robbed him of every coin he had ever saved - but instead had left him with this missive.
"I've been called hero before, by people who saw me fail their family and neighbors, saw one of every two people who'd followed me die for their trust. Should I trust that this venture will go better?" he mused. Rising, he paced the stones of his chamber in thought, before realized that it was not for him to make this decision.
He took the box and paper both and sought out the temple's high priest. After an explanation of how he had found them - or rather, how they had been left for him - his superior chuckled, twirling the mithral dagger in his hands. "They are not without skill, whoever they are. Brothers in Abadar's service are not forbidden from joining other orders, or holding rank elsewhere, Donovan - so long as these duties do not conflict with the wishes of the Judge of Gods. Investigate these Crimson Knights, then. If you wish it, become one yourself. I will never doubt that your loyalty remains with our god."
"Of course," Donovan said, and began to rise. the High Priest handed back the dagger, and added with a twinkle in his eye. "Normally we would frown upon blood offerings, but it seems this is part of a communication ritual. Make it here, then. I shall keep you safe in case of any malice."
Donovan shrugged, and taking the dagger, drew it across the bottom of his right palm. The High Priest handed him a clean cloth which Donovan held below the hand as the crimson blood spilled across his skin. He allowed his thoughts to ring loudly in his head, wondering if anybody would actually hear and answer.
"Questions. Yes, I would say I have a few," he thought, and awaited an answer.

SkyCaptain Keeya Swift |

Its a great back story Hymn like it, here see.
She was in bed,
Her father had told her the story many times, how Hymn had joined he Clan.
The six year old always asked.
"But Hymn was bad daddy, he hurt you"
He smiled at her then in a sad voice said.
"Yes he did Little one but Hymn is not bad, he was made to act bad, I knew it the moment I meet him and the evil man making him do things. The ring was bad, the ring on the bad man's hand"
She liked it because her daddy did.
"It was the ring you see little Keeya, held Hymn as a kind of slave by and evil man" years later her father would tell her the evil man was in fact Hymns own father, but for a girl of six that was a part her own daddy left out. No need to scare a child to much.
"Wile that evil man had the ring he could make poor Hymn do anything. I made up my mind to destroy it then and there, but to do so I had to trick the evil man. So onto the home ship they came, I waited to see of I could get it off the evil man, asked when we where alone if I could see it. Had the crew keep an eye on him to see if he ever took it off. But he never did. Then two days later the order poor Hymn to attack me. I was hit here on my arm, O little Keeya such pain, But I was ready. I had had a air cannon placed tracking them, soon the evil man acted bad my crew fired but it miss the evil man and hit Hymn. There was a puff of fire and he was gone. Back to the land of flame. That just left me and the evil man, such a fight little one. Our swords slashing, and crashing and bashing. But then I used the wind magics, my blade came down with such powers it cut them evil man ring and all clean in two. After we found that Hymn has come back. He was hurt bad, bad as you can be. I could have had him to kill but Hymn was not a bad person little Keeya, he was made bad by evil magic and an evil man. So I gave him a chance,
"Now your free and whole, I ask only that you stand with me and from this say do your best to do good in the world" And you know what little Keeya to this very day that is just what Hymn as done. So you see even the most lost soul can be redeemed, it is why good will always win over evil. Now time for bed, sleep well little Keeya"
But she was all ready asleep, her father covered her and went to the cabin door. The door opened and there was Hymn, always close.
Keeya's father smiled at him as they left.
Keeya nodded as if to herself.
In front of her now were three notes.
"Please call me Keeya wile alone, in front of the crew Sky-captain would be best. Well three letters and three boxs with daggers. I must say the Blades are a mysterious group. It seems logical what you suggest about refilling their ranks. That battle was hard, The black Blades would have lost more than a few of their number in it."
Keeya looks up at the roof for a moment thinking.
"My father believes there aims are good but I will hold judgement until I hear the full of it from them. I spilled blood as it asks, I thought nothing had happened but at that very moment you where spotted. Humm could it be once you give blood as they asked you fates are linked. O well we will find out in 6 days just what they are all about."
you all feel a bump of turbulence, She then looks back down.
"I think its best get you unpacked and settled in. Will we have a hard day and nights flying ahead. Going over the hills here is always bumpy."
Another bump of turbulence.
"As there are only two of you, you get a cabin each, but you will also need.."
She stand and go's to a chest. Opening it she brings out two belts with a cable reels on them. At the end of the cable is a clipping hook. She comes back and gives one to each.
"Sarra this is a Safety hook. Around the ships decks you will see rails. At all times hook yourself to one wile on deck. Flame if your happy to show Serra."
She knew me must know how to use one, then She the adds
"Its standard Sky-ship policy to have all large weapons locked in the Armoury rakes wile on board. You will see them dotted about, use the one close to you cabin. Side arms and light weapons can be kept in the lockers in your rooms. If the call to arms is made, please feel free to arm yourselves as fast as you can. At such times the Armoury racks will be unlocked so you can get to your weapons. At the end of the hall here is the dinning room and medical room. Above is the flight deck, and side gunnery desks above them the observation desk. bellow the cargo decks. the observation deck and side decks are open to your use as is the dinning room. I ask that you not go into any other part of the ship unless asked to and escorted by the crew member. Feel free to knock on my door any time you need me."
Then she says to Hymn
"Hymn would you be so kind as to show Flame and Sarra to there Cabins. Take the port side two just down the hall."
She seems in a rush to get back to her charts, you can feel already the skyship is hitting more turbulence.

Flame Demonspawn |

"Just one question: You seem somewhat familiar with these Blades. What can you tell me about them? They seem to have a thing for recruiting outsiders."
Suddenly a light, feminine voice speaks up in fluent Taldane.
"What exactly constitutes a large weapon? If it's fine with you, Keeya, I would prefer to stay near Flame so that we could continue to greet the sunrise together."
Flame slowly pulls his scimitar, still sheathed, from his belt and places it on the table. "Everybody, allow me to introduce you to Mystmorning, one of the most sacred servants of my goddess. She is both a sword and a celestial unicorn. If it is acceptable, I would like to keep her with me. In the name of Sarenrae, I will not draw her forth while on board this vessel without orders from the Sky-Captain of this vessel."

SkyCaptain Keeya Swift |

Sense Motive 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
After the shock of a talking sword, Keeya nods and smiles at Flame.
"My father told you where a willy one Flame, That proves it to me, you are who you say you are. And as you well know a Sky-Ships Captains word is law on our ships. So yes I agree you can keep your faiths artefact with you Flame, and the captains of this Air-boat will hold you to that oath for all time."
She chuckles
Keeya seems to be a genuinely nice person, a bit strait necked but she's in charge of a Sky Ship, one has to be. She's a little young and inexperienced but seems to make up for it with a keen mind. She seems used to commanding.
In the ranks of the Sky clan, Ships are held in common ownership by the clan, so a Sky Captain is as close to nobility as they get. They have no king but a council of Captains.
The Sky clans move in fleets, a clan will have one home ship and a number of small craft. Its like a small state. The Home-ship Captain normally being the head of that clan.
A clan feel of Sky-ships can take on a fully grown dragon, there is a bardic tail of such a fight. A fleet of fleets can take on most ground cites, such is the fire power they can bring to bare. A Sky ship on its own how ever is a another matter. This Sky-Boat is classed as a fast picket Boat, meant to be with a fleet where bigger guns and ship can protect it. Out here all alone its vulnerable so speed and root matter very much to its safety.

GM Wolf |

It might be pertinent to answer some questions now, If you have a question for the captain make sure to state it in a spoiler and he will likely respond in kind.
It seems that Aref and Xenia are together now, waiting. The wind picks up and the two of them can see a tall man walk toward them, his cloak tight around him and his midnight blue robes below seem to have silver studs or designs on them. He does not speak, but merely walks. He walks around as if he does not have a place to be and does not see the campfire.
Donovan may find himself a special way to get to the tower. ;)
The rest seem to be aboard the Silver Wind, perhaps someone will stop and pick him up, or we can find another way to transport Donovan.

Flame Demonspawn |

Flame smiles back. "We can discuss the Blades again later, then. Perhaps after we all contact them. I'll see how much I remember about using a safety-hook."
After the meeting:
"This is a safety hook. You attach one end to your belt and the other end to one of the rails like so. Each person gets two safety hooks so that they don't have to take their first one off while switching rails. Any questions?"
"Three questions, captain: What are your goals? How many other recruits are there? And are they all fellow outsiders?"

Hymn |

Hymn bows at the Captains wish for him to escort them to their quarters.
Upon reaching their quarters, Hymn states,"If either of you need the Captain please seek me out first, I will gladly escort you to her. General Flame, Captain gave you permission to carry that blade while aboard, please keep your promise to keep it sheathed. I have one duty and it is to keep the Captain safe."
Pauses for a moment, Hymn then says "Sometimes the Captain is too nice for her own good. (bluff)In the old days on Skyships, they would put hairline cuts in the cords of skysailers whom they thought was a danger to the ship. I'm sure your lines are fine, but if you need help with them or attaching them please let me know."
Bluff:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
If you see through bluff, or roll a sense motive check. It is easy to see Hymn means no danger but is adamant about his duty.
Hymn will return to the Captains quarters.
Standing outside the Captain's door, Hymn says softly "Captain, may I speak with you?

SkyCaptain Keeya Swift |

Keeya is at the ships wheels, trying to Hanover her past the turbulence.
"Yes Hymn but it will have to be here, this needs my hand"
You can see the 1st mate and navigator working behind her on the Elemental panels. The ship bumps a bit,
"At this speed got to keep her on course as we come round the mountains later, no rest for me tonight."
The ship is moving throw thick cloud, but you know she can see throw it as if was not there.

Flame Demonspawn |

Before Hymn leaves:
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Flame frowns. In an annoyed tone, he states: "Were I to ever break an oath sworn on my goddess, Mystmorning would not let me wield her, so I would still have no weapon."
Back in Taldane: "Anyhow, I am sure you have duties to attend to, and I have to see about getting in contact with the Blades. I'll probably seek a meeting with the captain once we have all made contact with them, so that we can share information. Until then, best of luck with your duties. If there is anything you need from me, such as healing or advice, don't hesitate to ask."

Hymn |

Craft(Weapon)(Quick glance looking at Flames sword):1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Before Hymn leaves Flames cabin with a bow he says, I mean you no dishonor. I can see from here the Blade is well crafted. My only duty is to keep the Captain safe." Leaves quickly after.
Moving up to the ships wheel, where the Captain can be normally found.
"That is fine Captain. I will prepare for a long night and take my normal position. I do need to inform you I have the same box that you seem to have. Along with the same letter. I feel it maybe a mistake. Either way, I don't think I'll be able to help this Order. Hymn pauses. Then states. "Nor do I think you should either.... Your father gave me a duty to keep you safe. I don't feel that the course we're taking will not keep you safe. So far, you have met new "friends" and we know nothing about them."
"You are the Captain and I respect your decision, but artifacts are not to be taken lightly. I have encountered a few in my short life. They are much like people. I know how destructive they can be. I would suggest you keep the sword till we get to our destination."Hymn bows low in almost a begging way. He quickly states, "If I fail my duty I can never repay your father, then I will owe him a greater debt then I already do."

SkyCaptain Keeya Swift |

She looks at him for a moment then back out into the sky.
today is a say of shocks, Hymn as well but he...
"Hymn you really should have told my father you had one as well, I think he would have sent you in stead of me. O well to late now I have already used the dagger."
Then she realised what she had just said looking back for a moment she adds.
"Hymn you should know, Ayraa and I talked about this at length, she has the power to pass us into the Ethereal plane, there she showed what will come to pass if we and others like us do not fight the rising evil. It was hell on earth Hymn. The lands laid wast, undead and demons feeding on the souls of all. It was we who chose to go, even with out my father asking me."
You know taht Ayraa is Keeya's Eidolon, she fuses with Ayraa to be come Keeya-Ayraa a thing of the winds.

Serra the Blessed |

Serra watches the exchange between Flame and Keeya with interest.
Sense Motive, Keeya: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16
Knowledge(Local): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
As the meeting ends Serra takes the safety harness and hooks from Keeya and heads out with the others. As they exit the room Hymn lectures them about his duty to Keeya and the ship.
Sense Motive, Hymn: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23
Serra raises an eyebrow at the veiled threat, but sees that he's not serious about it, just earnest in his desire to protect the Captain.
Responding to his parting words, she says:
"كان من دواعي سروري تلبية كنت كذلك. ولا تقلق، السماوية لخاص بك ه أفضل من كثير سمعت. أشك في بلدي النار كلام تكون جيدة حتى إذا كانت اللغات لا في دمي."
"It was a pleasure meeting you as well. And don't worry, your celestial is better than many I've heard. I doubt my own Ignan would be half so good if language was not in my blood."
Linguistics or Knowledge(Planes) (DC 15): She's clearly referring to the fact that many celestials are blessed with Truespeech, and that she, like some Aasimar, carries a portion of that power within her.
She pays attention as Flame shows her how to clip in and move about the ship, and then excuses herself for the evening. Stopping briefly by one of the armories she locks up her greatsword, and then proceeds to her quarters. The room is small but functional, with a bunk and storage beneath, along with a small fold-out desk for writing. Setting her pack down, she looks around the room and decides that she'll be safest if she lays down on the bunk.
After she gets comfortable she begins meditating, projecting herself outwards so as to tour the ship better. "This is much better than having to worry about the harness," she thinks as she floats up above the cabin and looks down on the entirety of the ship.
"Hmm, too high up to see the ground, but the ship is truly impressive. It's hard to believe that this is one of their smallest vessels. It's good that they try to remain neutral overall, there are many who would use such a force for conquest without a second thought."
She spends the rest of the evening alternating between her usual fitful sleep and meditation.

Hymn |

"Captain if I had known, I would of readily gone in your stead...Now I fear I owe you and your father." Hymn blue eyes almost dull with the extra burden he now had placed on him. With a flick of his wrist Hymn brings out the mithral dagger and cuts his hand. Making the contract complete. "I had no knowledge till today Captain, otherwise I would of Captain. We are dealing with something beyond what I have known. It is rare anyone could sneak on a airship, let alone past my guard."
"I will go take my post." Hymn leaves with a bow.
Hymn leaves the wheel area for his normal posted area. Hymn uses his fly ability to hoover slightly over the deck and hums what seems like a sad song.
Perform:1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33
The song tells a tale of a lost flame. A fire which was once eternal, now squelched by some unknown force. It still burns but just not as bright as it once had.

Donovan Dyne |

I seem to have "missed the boat", as it were, on the airship, so I can get Donovan there another way if needs be. Or they could just happen to stop in the city he's at and pick him up!
Via his thoughts and the blood ritual, Donovan asks the following questions of the Captain of the Crimson Knights:
"Whom or what do the Knights of the Crimson Blade serve? What is their purpose? Where are they based? And finally, what will be expected of me should I choose to accept your invitation?"
Once the Captain of the Crimson Knights has put his mind at ease as to the purpose and worthiness of the order, Donovan reports back on the answers to his high priest.
"That settles it, then. The choice remains with you, but I suggest you accept the invitation. I hereby give you leave to depart from your official duties to this church and release you upon your own will, to go where you might and spread Abadar's wisdom is whatever ways seem best."
Donovan bows to the man. "I think that I will accept, and I thank you for the freedom to do so. Now, to see about arranging transportation. I hope I can find something faster than a horse..."

Seeing the man holding but one cup, Xenia reaches into a pocket on her pack and pulls forth a small mug.
No need to worry, I have a well traveled mug as well. Although, coffee is not that common on the ship, unless it has a strong mix of rum in it.After taking a drink of the dark drink, Xenia thinks for a few moments.
Although your cream does change the flavor, this is from Sargava is it not? Not easy to get such a brew in this part of the Inner Sea.
And yes, I suppose we shall have to wait for our contact as he does not seem to be here yet.
Suddenly, she sees a movement on the edge of the clearing around the tower.
Seems that someone else has arrived.
As the man walks about looking rather confused, Xenia carefully watches him, attempting to discern anything unusual about the man in the godforsaken corner of Taldor.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Assuming with those rolls that she does not detect anything amiss:
Xenia moves out, away from the tent and fire before calling to the man:
Sir, can we help you?
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Weird, something went wrong, the forum did not update new posts... I will look into this. In the mean time answers to those pesky questions.
What are your goals? To protect the innocent and good, to destroy evil, and if you join you will be apart of one of the teams to go out and destroy evil in its own lands.
How many other recruits are there? There is ten other recruits, some may not come to the call.
And are they all fellow outsiders? No, but you might not think that when you see them all.
Hymn either you meant to fail the bluff check or not. A failed bluff check from you would be a sense motive DC 7, and bluffing would be a normal roll, thus a DC 23 for that instance. I think in this instance it would be a failed bluff check also known as sarcasm. :)
"Whom or what do the Knights of the Crimson Blade serve? What is their purpose? Where are they based? And finally, what will be expected of me should I choose to accept your invitation?"
"We the order of Crimson Knights of the Black Blade serve the greater good. We allow all those in our ranks to serve lawful and good gods. We have found that adventurers are typically a response, a reactive resource. We of the Black Blades choose to be proactive and search out evil where it stews and grows."
"Our purpose is to protect the innocent and good, to destroy evil, and if you join you will be apart of one of the teams to go out and destroy evil in its own lands."
"We are based everywhere but nowhere. There are many bases of our top leadership, temples and religions that support us, even nations give us aid and a hearth to rest. We only recruit those that could be deemed as heroes and never need a location to attract volunteers. That is what the Shining Crusade is for."
"If you join, you will be apart of a group of initiates into the order. Moving into one of three locations and searching for evil, destroying it as you find it. When you find innocents or good people you are to help and defend them to the best of your ability. Loss happens much in these roles that you take, mostly of those you try to defend in a dark world full of evil. All we can ever ask is that you do your best, hopefully preserving your soul as well as those you defend."
The high priest looks at Donovan with a raised eyebrow, "That's right you don't like horses, and I think skyship would be the fastest way besides magical spells that would only help you so much. I will have the watch keep a lookout for any skyships, you get yourself ready, I would suggest packing up on wands and scrolls, don't take much coin with you."
With that said a small craft is waved down by the watch of the town Donovan resides in, lucky for him they saw the signal, for they were high and flying fast.

"Ahhh, greetings lass, I must have lost my way." He says in a very venerable voice. He speaks in whatever language she spoke in.
Once close she can tell that the human old man still holds himself upright, but is very old. A staff is in his right hand, age spots on the slightly thinning hand. It is strange he would not have gloves on. You were sure he had gloves on and no staff just a moment ago.

SkyCaptain Keeya Swift |

It has been a long night, but they had passed the higher peaks and where now heading down into clearer Sky's, As Keeya relaxed the look out called that a call beckon had been seen at a temple complex below in a town, there are armed men with the Beckon.
"Hymn I need you"
She was still at the ships wheels,
assuming he comes down to her
Keeya points down to the temple complex below she is moving the the sky-boat toward. You can see a call beckon and armed me, she's holing the Ky-Boat at 500 feet and going no closer.
"Hymn can you head down there and just see what they want."
She jokes, but you know she's being deadly serous about you checking out what's below. Going in close to a few knights in the open is one thing, flying down to a large town with armed troops is another level of risk altogether.
Then she calls out commands
"ALL HANDS ON DECK, READY FOR ACTION!"
The ships bell rings out ready for action.
The is a rush of feet, Soon crew men ready the air cannons wile others stand at station armed and waiting.
Flame, Sarra feel free to react as you feel fit. Hymn your up, Keeya will not fly into dock until you give the all clear.

Serra the Blessed |

Serra was surprised to hear the call for "all hands on deck" while relaxing on her bunk. "What time is it? I don't think it's light yet... Who would assault us up this high?" she thought. The thought that a dragon might be attacking the boat occurred to her briefly, no doubt stemming from the tales of Sky Clan fleets taking on Dragons, but she shrugged it off, unable to come up with a convincing reason for such an attack.
She started to think about other reasons but decided the best course of action would be to just check in on the bridge. She gathered the harness and donned it quickly and then went out to the armory to grab her sword. She knew she could fight without it, but using fire on the boat might not be looked upon terribly kindly. Prepared as she could be, she worked her way to the bridge. "What's happening Captain? Are we under attack?" she queried, remembering to address Keeya by her title in front of the crew.

Flame Demonspawn |

Flame is woken up by the call to arms. Crap. Taken off guard and unarmored was not how I wanted to start my day. He quickly pulls on some priestly robes and mutters a few words of incantation. Divine Surge: Inspired Spell - Swift Girding His full plate disappears from its somewhat messy pile on the floor and reappears around him in a neat, ordered fashion.
Flame then leaves his cabin and heads to the armory as fast as his bad leg can carry him, which in full plate is about as fast as a normal person walks. He quickly retrieves and dons his shield and straps his warhammer into the usual spot on his back. He then hustles down to the boarding ramp so that he could be ready.

Xenia smiles back at the man:
Well, you must have travelled far in getting lost. This tower is days from the nearest civilized places. I had to hide from several hill giants, and even a mighty fire giant to get here.Suddenly she realized that both were standing in the clearing.
Please come back and join us. We were just sitting down to some coffee. I'm afraid that I do not have another mug, perhaps you have one? Or we can find something to use for you.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 <-- either he is honest, or really good at lying

The old man nods and goes with her, he looks to be not that sure of his footing, if she offers he takes her arm if not he does his best to follow.
"Lost track of time and direction, deary me. Oh my, giants! I am sure I have a cup, just need to rest these bones and I can look through my bag." He says still in that shaky voice.

Aref al-Arzani |

Before Xenia can take the initiative, Aref springs to his feet and assists the old man to a seat beside the fire.
"Kahve, not coffee. Coffee is the less refined version that seems so popular in Avistan," Aref chided, not unkindly. "Unfortunately, I did not think to pack a traveling stool, good sir. You may have my sleeping roll to sit upon."

Xenia, knowing that the old man is far from the incompetent old geezer he makes himself out to be, smiles pleasantly.
Well then, come and join us. We also just met and thought that this location next to this ancient deserted tower in the middle of dangerous mountains would be the perfect place to have a picnic.
With that, she lends him her arm and leads him back to where Aref (Who never introduced himself IC, but has also not posted since Tuesday) is sitting. When she gets to the tent/pavilion, she rolls her eyes to Aref attempting to tell him that the old man is full of it.
Bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 vs DC15 to pass message
Please, have a seat and lets see if you have a spare cup.

SkyCaptain Keeya Swift |

"We'er being signalled from below for a pick up . Hymn is going to go have a look and see who's asking for a ride. Be ready there are armed men down there, no need to take needless risks"
keeya points at large beacon baring on the top of a tower, that stands in the center of a large town, close to it is stemless complex. The sky-boat gets to within 500' you can now see armed men close to the beacon

Bearik |

The old man thanks Aref for the padding. Once down he ruffles his cloak some and brings out a silver chalice with sapphires embedded in its side, "This should do." He says with a big grin on his face.
He lets the heat from the drink warm up his goblet before taking a sip, after his first sip he asks, "Did you say why you are here at this tower?"

Aref al-Arzani |

"We did not. You are not the owner are you? I apologize, I was asked to meet some friends here. They are running late, so I figured I would get comfortable," if Aref picked up on Xenia's signal, it did not show on his face. The smile remained in place as he idly stirred his cup.

Hymn |

Quick phone post
Hymn follows the Captains command.
"Who is requesting a ride and why? Our time is not to be wasted, we have a mission which we must accomplish." Hymn states upon arrival of the platform. Seeming like he may leave at any time.
Telepathy(Keeya): If they are hostile please be prepared to leave me.

Xenia raises her mug.
What are we doing here? What does it look like? We are having coffee. She leans in and whispers to the old man.Although he uses some strange name for coffee.
She then sits back. Now then, the important question is, do you prefer your coffee with cream like my friend? Or black?
