In his mind, why do so many people in Taldor care about what's happening in this little, sleepy, backwoods part of the world? What are those travelers' sponsors after?

I assumed they were mostly just representing the interests of the Pathfinders who sent them to investigate, though I suppose some may have some other, undisclosed motive.

So, did Hokkaido just meet the group of Pathfinders on his way to Heldren and decide to travel with them?

GM, do you have any thoughts regarding the application of the feat Twist Away different than RAW?

Are you wanting to try to "twist away" from the cold? I mean, that's not likely to be a consideration for long after this first book.

I wanted twist away to consolidate most of two save categories into one, especially towards the one which I'm stronger at. I didn't know if the cold saves or something else would be excluded because they are primary campaign mechanics. I guess I could imagine somehow someone having impeccable vomiting and abdominal strength to quickly eject unclean or poison food vice using the fortitude of their system to withstand it. I cant imagine doing a shimmy to shake off a cold weather environment.

Is anyone thinking of using Intimidate vs. enemies much? If so, I've got a feat to help Hokkaido get sneak attacks. If not in this RoW, I may bring it to Shackled City where Tommy and Darts use it extensively.

I'll be using the classic combo of Power Attack and Cornugon Smash, so there will be some fear-affected enemies. However, if I'm hitting them, I'm in melee, and you should probably already be getting sneak attack from flanking.

I think that feat is more for a solo rogue/vigilante that's using cornugon smash or the midnight or nightmare chain of feats.

That Geas we accepted as part of becoming Black Riders has some major drawbacks if we don't follow through.

Yeah, I forgot that Cornugon Smash only lets you intimidate the one enemy. However, this might work better with Shackled City since Darts has a high Intimidate and it is for area of effect. Depending on placement of the bad guys and myself, I could use the feat during a full-round action to attack one each of whom are intimidated for SA. I was just curious about expanding SA application.

Perhaps if ppl had low-level AoE spells which attempt to intimidate. I could solo it out that way. I'm looking to take the Desperate Battler feat as a replacement for Lvl 1 Tribal Scars. I'm aiming to work the sneaky stuff a bit more later on.

I didn't realize we became part of the Black Riders. Was this the position the new Eiji accepted?

There is indeed 1 suit of Masterwork Studded Leather that no one has claimed.

I'm using this file to keep track of loot that hasn't been claimed yet. The final half dozen items in the list are claimed, but I'm not sure as to their exact disposition.

So, I know Chris made mention of wanting to build his own table. I found this thread with a 40-inch in the middle and white board surrounding it. It looks really neat. Perhaps shower board would again work better than white. Thoughts?

So I came across this article and wanted to see if our casters would be interested. The article talks about time-saving action economy items that are under utilized. One in particular is the spring-loaded wrist sheath. The different thought the poster talks about is loading a wand in the sheath (since it is the right size and sub 1 lb).

Since one can swift action/free action the item into their hand, this might save our casters or others valuable action time when they need to bring out either an offensive wand or a curing wand really fast.

They cost 5 whole gold pieces and weigh one pound.

You may have missed it, but we've been given a very nice item:

Snowshoes of Northern Pursuit:
These masterwork snowshoes provide greater stability and weight distribution in snow. The snowshoes completely negate the effects of normal snow on movement,
and reduce the movement penalties in heavy snow by half (i.e., it only costs 2 squares of movement to enter a square covered with heavy snow instead of 4 squares of movement).

In addition, the wearer can increase her land speed in snowy terrain by 10 feet for up to 10 rounds per day. This is considered an enhancement bonus and the du ration need not be spent in consecutive rounds. Fi nal ly, as a sta ndard action once per day, the snowshoes can generate a ripple effect that removes all trace of tracks left: in the snow in a 60-foot radius.

Also, is the Tavern Keeper's wife a divine or arcane caster? I assume she's an Adept (divine), but she might be a failed witch (arcane) or even an oracle. It only matters because our party is completely arcane. Though I could maybe Use Magic Device a divine scroll.

I know Hokkaido would be more than happy to use the Snowshoes of Northern Pursuit. I heard Catriona doesn't have any snowshoes though, so perhaps she wants them.

And given I have two Silver daggers, I'll offer up the +1 Silver Dagger to whomever could use a Silver weapon. Hokkaido wants the plain one as it has a small area storing a poison he might use.

RE:Snowshoes - Cat can use magic at range, but Hokkaido needs to stab up close.

A MW Cold Iron dart only costs 301 gp (300 gp masterwork + 2*(5 sp)), so it's not over 500.

Eiji is using Craft(Alchemy), but has no plans on taking actual Crafting feats. Though I suppose Craft Constructs might come in handy to make The Rock a real beast...
