Chronicles of the Silver Rose Company

Game Master Patrick Curtin

This campaign is my attempt to play a canonical Planescape campaign using the updated Pathfinder ruleset. The game actually predates the release of Pathfinder, but we have managed to update as we have needed.

Alessia’s blade drinks deep of whatever essence powers the elemental creature. It moans, a sound like creaking stones. Her shield pivots to shield Merle from any further attack

What does your sword look like anyway? Is it plain, or more of a baroque Stormbringer soul-drinking vibe?

Confirm critical: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21

If critical, damage will be 17 + 1d10 ⇒ 10 + energy drain.

The sword is pretty plain, and looks like it's seen a lot of use--like her armor, it's the same sword she used while she was still alive (only the shield is new). Here's a picture. I'm guessing it probably has a holy symbol on the pommel, but no other decorations.

Human Wiz 12 (Evocation)

Hamar is the Friggin' Tasmanian Devil! O_o

Justin aims his blasting rod at the Xorn still facing Rovuk. The tip starts to glow with a bright blue light.

"Ah! Ah! Leave. The Guide. Alone!"

The wizard focuses his will, and a single brilliant bolt of energy flies from the tip to zip around Rovuk and strike the Xorn.

Using Wizard ability 'Force Bolt'. like Magic missile,

Force Dmg: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

If not too late for round 1

Spinning to face the Xorn that attacked Merle, Blayze draws Glory in a blur, firing a pair of shots into the creature, a mere thought loading another bullet into her gu before a third shot swiftly follows the other two.

Glory +1 distance double barreled pistol/Haste vs Touch AC: 1d20 + 15 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 15 + 1 = 30

Swift action: Teleport bullet from Bandolier into gun. Distance makes range increment 40ft instead of 20ft

Nope! Plenty of time!

Blayze’s shots drill into the Xorn, cleaving chunks of stony flesh from it

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Just got the tally straight, so...

The Xorn that had bitten Merle falls to the hail of Blayze’s bullets

is there a -4 to shooting into melee with a gun? Or do you have the feat that negates that? Either way all of those shots would have hit. Edit: NVM. I looked it up on your sheet and I see you have it. Carry on :)

Merle sends bolts of force raining down on Rovuk's foe

The wand weilding Xorn moves along the stalagmite Q19 and does an odd three-legged hop into the air. Suddenly the stone ripples under the party, like an angry sea

In the following map there is a dark cone. Anyone intersecting the cone must pass a DC 15 Reflex save or be knocked prone and take 1d8 ⇒ 2 bludgeoning damage.

The Xorn engaged with Rovuk takes the opportunity of his stepping back to rush over to his compatriot's side P20

The Xorn by Mel and Sophi whirls his bats in a weaving manner, bringing them down on the young woman mercillesly. Its jaws snap at her at the same time

Looking at the prone condition, it says standing up is a move-equivalent action, so I would say you could stand up, then move your normal amount after. There’s no enemy near you to get an AoO

Nope. It is still in the ground somewhere. Xorn can pass tracelessly through earth like a fish swimming through water

female Tiefling 12th level Duskblade

Okay, if the xorn Karrin was watching for had reappeared Karrin would have moved and attacked before she could have been targeted by the xorn's spells. It's why I asked

Reflex save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Karrin then charges the spell caster and his buddy moving into p19

charge attack, power attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22
damage: 1d12 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23
charge attack, power attack, cleave (if first attack hits): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29
damage: 1d12 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21

That's Karrin's 2nd round. Not adding cold damage because I'm pretty sure xorn are immune to cold

Round 3

Hamar spins as the foe before him is vanquished due to the combined efforts of the Silver Rose. He turns and charges at his next prey Q23 taking a circuitous route P18, O17, then O19 to attack the next Xorn P20 he continues this dance to maximize his thrust bye gaining enough speed with his dance between foes to cause maximum mayhem...

That moves Hamar 80' and allows him to take all of his attacks, he ends on square Q18. It also exposes him to AoOs so I will need a few Acrobatics checks in between. Note that all ranged attacks against him have a 20' miss chance as he has moved more than 10'.

Attack #1 vs. Q23 - Keen, Planar (Ignore 5 Points of DR to Outsiders) Scimitar 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 12 + 2 + 1 = 19 - Damage 1d6 + 2d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5) + (5, 2) + 4 + 2 = 18

Acrobatics to withdraw from the threatened square 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (13) + 23 = 36.

Critical? 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 14 - Damn. Miss.

Acrobatics to withdraw from the threatened square 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (11) + 23 = 34.

I believe the target you assign as Q23 is currently at Q19. Other than that, I think everything is straight. If this messes up your convoluted fight path, let me know

Hamar whirls and slashes his two foes. He skewers one in its fanged hole,P20 and it topples, twitching feebly. The other eludes his blows. He thinks one is about to land, but some mysterious force checks his blade at the last second, as if some invisible armor cloaks the creature

The Studied Strike damage is Precision Damage (not multiplied on a Critical, and beings immune to Sneak Attacks are immune to it). It's basically an Investigator & Slayer version of Sneak Attack, but we have to study our target to get it, not surprise them.
