Merrum Blaine |

Merrum remains quiet, since he was a guest.
I wonder if there's any money to be made here.

Lilly Wildwood |

A troubled look crosses Lilly's visage. No. I have never been to this circle before but hope to see someone I have heard of. That is not her. Sorry if this contradicts what I said before. I was a little geographically challenged. :)

Terquem |
Just as Lilly finishes speaking, the tall elven woman reaches the edge of the meadow and standing there calls out in a loud voice to your group
Welcome, travelers. I am Caitriann, protector of this meadow. If you are searching for Pawkatukit, you are close, just turn around and go back to the fork in the road and head to the northeast. That way will take you right into the town proper. I keep this place free from those who would abuse its mysteries, so please, do not tarry, and go back the way you came.

Lilly Wildwood |

Something is wrong. Lilly says in a quiet and worried voice. That is not Caitriann. While i have never met her, I do that is not her. Play along.
Calling out to the woman Lilly says in a loud clear voice as she walks briskly and businesslike towards her. Excellent. I have come a long way to meet with you Caitriann. I too am a druid and have brought friends. Let us rejoice in this meeting of sisters.

Isaiah La Fontaine |

"She seems to know a lot about who we're looking for, perhaps we may not have to look to much further." Isaiah says, weaving a bit of magic into his words.
Bardic Inspiration @ Lilly +1d6 once in the next ten minutes.

Wolfgang raises an eyebrow. He's well schooled in things that are not as they seem, and encountering such a thing here in a place that us supposed to be proof against them is most unsettling.
Still, he bides his time...for now.

Terquem |
The elven woman's face, from the distance, looks pensive, and she begins to move sideways, staying along the tree line of the meadow, occasionally moving behind a tree and then in front of the next, as she says
It, isn't really a good time for me, and it would be better if you came back tomorrow.
She seems to be moving to a spot along the tree line that brings her closer to the circle of stones than where she first appeared. She is headed to a place that is probably no more than 20 yards from the closest of the stones in the circle, but she is not stepping away from the cover of the trees into the meadow itself.

Kerak Fellspar |

Kerak's eyes follow her as she circles cagily. He looked past her and began studying the spot she was heading to, trying to determine if there was anything significant about it.

Wylla 'Opaleye' Spingle |

Wylla feels her hand slip down to her little jeweler's hammer, feeling the worn grip in her hand. One finger snaps the holding strap from around it, uncomfortable with this development.
We don't want to abuse anything here, in fact I'm afraid that someone abusing magic may have come this way already and we'd prefer your sacred meadow not be dirtied by the creature's presence. she offers, voice a little shaky.

Merrum Blaine |

Merrums eyes go wide. "What kind of creature was that again?" he asks. "Whatever. I'm leaving. Bye, lady!"
He will move away from the group as if he's leaving, enter stealth, and circle around through the woods.

Preacher Vash Urias |

Preacher looks around at the people that surround him, and then back at the druid.
"Indeed...we have traveled long and far, and have come here for no ill purpose. If you say that we must return tomorrow, we will do so, but I would rather speak now if you're assent to that. The sooner we can gain some information, the sooner we may act, and that will benefit not only all of us, but many that remain in need."
Persuasion: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Terquem |
Wylla speaks up, causing the elven woman to stop, momentarily, and then Merrum speaks out his frustration with the situation and heads for the tree line to his left. This move seems to irritate the elevn woman
She looks left and right, quickly, and then she leans to her left, but just then Preacher calls out in a calming tone and the woman hesitates, straightens up, and holds out her hands. She looks as if she is about to speak, but then her mouth opens and closes a few times, like she is struggling to decide what she wants to say, finally, calling out loudly
I have no time for that today. I have seen no strangers but you folk this morning, now please, come back tomorrow
When she finishes, she takes three steps away from the nearest tree toward the circle of stones, and keeps looking toward your group.

Kerak Fellspar |

Kerak casually begins walking in the direction of the stones, so he can keep an eye on her if she tries to bolt through them. "These stones are fascinating. Any idea how they were built?"

Lilly Wildwood |

Lilly calls out I have come a long way to see these stones. They are holy to me and I intend to see them. I was expecting a warmer welcome from a sister but i will visit this grove with or without your hospitality. She also advances. Come now, remember your manners and your obligations. Come and play our host as you know you should,

Merrum Blaine |

"Oooh a race!" Merrum says to himself, breaking into a run and working to circle around to intercept the woman on the other side of the circle of stones.

Kerak Fellspar |

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
As the woman breaks into a sprint for the circle, Kerak does as well, anticipating her movement. A bestial grin crosses his face. You aren't escaping that easily. He plots his course to intercept her and halt her movement as she tries to run.

Lilly Wildwood |

Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
For the first time Lilly's face shows anger. She drops to her hands and feet and as she does her body changes. In an instant she has become a dire wolf and she bolts forward to beat the woman to the stone circle. Move is now 50

Kerak Fellspar |

Should have mentioned earlier, I'll take at least two Dash actions to intercept the woman. If I only need 2, one of those will be my bonus action from Cunning Action, and I'd like to then use an action to Intimidate her into stopping movement. Otherwise, three Dash actions.

I hope this doesn’t agrevate anyone, but I’m trying to see how this would happen, combat rounds wise – the Elven woman springs into a run, which triggers the rest of you into action – now, her Initiative is lower than some of the characters, but it wouldn’t make any sense for one of you to act before she starts running, so I am saying that for the first round the elven woman has Surprise, and the rest of you cannot take any actions until round 2
The strange elven woman leaps forward into a fast run and this is like a signal to the group that something not right is afoot. Suddenly everyone is in action but the elven woman covers the distance to the circle of stones with surprising speed, reaching a place behind a wide and tall stone and disappears from view, but it will not be long before she is caught.
She moves to I:1
Round 2…
Wolfgang sizes up the situation and decides that caution is called for, waiting to see what will happen next. Merrum breaks into a dead run, but keeps to the tree line, heading to the northeast, in hopes he can reach the northern side of the circle before the woman escapes, but Kerak is not so cautious. He bends low at the waist and his legs pump as he sprints to reach the same stone before the woman can take advantage of her brief disappearance. HE rounds the stone and…
I need to see Kerak’s action before I describe anyone else’s actions in round 2, other than Lilly, who takes this round to change forms

Kerak Fellspar |

Kerak pulls up short and draws out his short swords, dropping into a fighting stance. He shouts to the group, "The Elven woman is gone, and somehow someone who looks like me is standing here!"
Is it an action to draw my swords? If not, I'll drop into a defensive stance.

![]() |

Since I've not really acted yet, I'll act now. Double move forward.
His interest peaked by Kerak's outburst, Wolfgang begins to stroll at a steady, if leisurely, pace forward, toward where the two persons disappeared.

Isaiah La Fontaine |

Isaiah moves to cut off their quarry. (J,-2) "I'd advise that you to reconsider this course of action. You are sorely outnumbered and I like to keep things civil."

Preacher Vash Urias |

Not really understanding what's going on, Vash will move closer to the stone circe M-7 and cautiously grip his shield and weapon.
"We just came to talk...there's no need for violence, I hope!"

Round 2…
The new half-orc companion runs toward the stones, perhaps hoping to cut off the elven woman’s escape and then shouts a cryptic warning.
Seeing that the situation is escalating the others begin to react, but meanwhile…
The enemy in front of Kerak lunges forward until he is standing right next to him
Wylla looks over to see Lilly who has now transformed into the form of a wolf, and lets out a n exited gasp
Isaiah dashes toward the other side of the rack where Kerak has trapped the enemy, but as he rounds the tall stone he sees Kerak standing right next to himself, even right down to his equipment, the two men appear identical to each other.
And the Half-elven stranger who was travelling with Kerak walks toward the stone, speaking words he hopes will deescalate the situation

Kerak Fellspar |

Kerak curses and backs away from the doppelgänger. He knows he's the real one, but convincing the others - especially people he barely knew - that would be difficult. He hoped they could solve the problem easily and quickly.
I'll take one action to Disengage, and then all remaining actions (including bonus actions) to move away from the person.

Round 2, wrap up
A wolf, to Isaiah’s and Kerak’s surprise, comes around the tall standing stone from the same direction that Isaiah just came from
The wolf stops, and seems intensely focused on the scene
Round 3 begins
Wolfgang and Merrum can take actions before Kerak, the real Kerak, attempts to disengage from the imposter, until then, at this time, you have no real way of knowing who is who. You may attempt a perception skill check, DC 20, and hope you know enough about the real Kerak to be right

Wolf Lilly growls and bites at the her enemy again. She shows no hesitation on who needs biting.
Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 162d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 1) + 3 = 9 If that hits then the enemy then it needs a D.C. 13 Strength save or be tripped.
If someone else threatens her enemy, in wolf form she gains advantage.
Advantage: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Lilly Wildwood |

I can't imagine that her wolf form was specifically mentioned. But She has freely admitted she is a druid and that druids can take the shape of various animals. I'd say she has even said that she has combat forms that are quite effective. If the group has been together during any other threats though they they would have seen this form.
