Zadendi looks furious as their ruse falls apart. "Idiots! You will die in Menzir's place!" Her dagger ignites as she stabs Kaul in a delicate spot. Kaul-11 pierce, 4 fire

ROUND 2
Corliss finishes his spell, summoning a constrictor snake behind the non-leonine foe, in flanking position opposite Kaul. The priest then scoots forward to help Jim melee his strange foe.
Corliss Blackboots +1 rapier (fatigued, haste): 1d20 + 7 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 7 - 1 + 1 = 12 for magic, piercing damage (fatigued): 1d6 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 - 1 = 2
I'll leave the snake's attack and damage rolls to the Cap'n (for obvious reasons).

Jim grins as he feels the magic take hold, the world slowing down around him. Then he strikes repeatedly at the lion-woman before trying to lever the dagger from her hand.

Then he readies a parry against her touch.

Just in case she misses against AC 26, I I'll roll the riposte:

Corliss- The obvious reasons are not so obvious to me. I don't mind you rolling for your monsters. this?
Dingus stays safely back as he speeds his companions. Corliss tries to help Jim, but is still somewhat awkward in his cold, wet clothes.

The sudden appearance of a big snake is slightly distracting to Kaul and again Lopper seems to keen in annoyance as it tastes nothing but air. The vengeful priestess blinks away and appears behind Jim, but close enough that Kaul catches her with a backswing leaving a bloody gash.

Listening to Alestorm all morning seems to have dispelled the curse on my attack rolls; now I gotta find a way to roll better damage! I'll continue to let the Cap'n make the snake's rolls.
Lastly, I'm not sure what the weird symbol on the map to Corliss's right is. If it's nothing important, I'll add a 5-foot step there so Jim or Kaul can flank.
EDIT: Forgot about the rough terrain--no 5-foot step.

Corliss- not rough terrain down here, but you're between a burning brazier and a stone font full of milk.

If not--" He shrugs. "--well, I'm sure our Queen wouldn't turn down a sacrifice. First question: you're a priest. Do you happen to be able to perform the ritual of restoration?"
Cap'n Voodoo
The woman looks confused and then laughs uproariously. "What were the Sarenites doing here? Did you not see the cairns above? Ha! They were dying!"
"Vosten established this shrine to Sarenrae some four-score years ago to quote "bring light to those suffering in the shadow of the Underbridge", and they killed him and his acolytes and it became a cache for Sczarni gangs. Then, lesson unlearned, they send to the same fate had not Avaleshi saved me and showed me the truth." She glances at the unmoving lion-woman nearby.
"Ha! Everlight!" she spits. "Light is but the briefest interruption of Darkness. It does not last. Darkness is eternal and all things come from the dark, wet womb of the All Mother! The Sarenites wouldn't stop sending more fools though and Tavor and Mazika couldn't handle the truth. Tavor was worthless and the Dark Angel made sure that he could not warn Menzir. Mazika could have been of use if she had just tried. Now she has joined the other dead priests.
James "Madman Jim" Patterson
"Funny, that--how Avaleshi's little crusade came to the same end as the Sarenites', and in the same place." He shrugs. "Ah, well. Back to the questions. I'm presuming the statue was the 'Dark Angel' you just spoke of. Where did it end up?"
Corliss Blackboots
Not sure if we've done this yet, so....
Corliss casts detect magic, scans the captive for auras, and removes any enchanted objects she might wear or carry.
Cap'n Voodoo
"The Dark Angel came to Avaleshi after her Matriarch Xanesha disappeared. It could be finding other lamia-kin or maybe it will just entertain itself preying on the locals." She gives another strange laugh.
Corliss takes the opportunity to continue scanning for magic. With Dingus having grabbed the burning dagger, Corliss sees two auras near Zadendi.
