DM Aku |

Sidious cast his spell, to help his team mates.
Johan is able to identify the monster as a humanoid species, known as boggard. And attack the same with a vicious mace blow.
Wodin plant his feet in the earth, using the same strategy he tried with the treant, but with a lot more confidence now, and attack the monster, hitting only once.
Eldred moves and attack killing the monster. Will: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 1 = 10 but that don't prevent him from becoming shaken.

Dmg: 2d6 + 15 + 6 ⇒ (6, 2) + 15 + 6 = 29
but he misses, offering no real harm to the dwarf.

Wodin Earthbreaker |

Wodin pulls back hard on the chain of his weapon, readying it for another mighty blow against the frog-like creature. The Stonelord's eyes seem to glow a dull red inside his helmet as the weapon seems to turn to turn the same color as stone in his hands. "You not stop us, creature!"
Wodin uses Stonestrike (swift action) and attacks (full-round action). 4/6 Stonestrike uses remain today.
+1 Dorn-Dergar attack 1 (Power Attack, Bless, Prayer, Defensive Stance, Stonestrike): 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 11 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 19

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa |

Grumblejack, guard this spot while the Knot deals with those frog men. Agrippa says to the large Ogre. Well aware that it could squash him if he angered it. I will see about getting you a frog leg to chew on
Agrippa moves as far as he can toward the action, but still not in the cavern.
GM, what knowledge skill would be appropriate to see if Agrippa knows anything about these creatures. I'll roll a d20 and list modifiers.

ELDRED CROFTER |

Eldred sheaths his sword and brings up his bow.

DM Aku |

Boggards resemble anthropomorphic frogs or toads, complete with webbed hands and feet, large eyes, and overly wide mouths. These creatures make their homes near large rivers or deep in marshes. There they make small villages composed of mud mounds on the banks. Boggards start out life as tadpoles in breeding ponds, eventually growing to a length of 3 feet before sprouting arms and legs and becoming capable of terrestrial living. Acceptance into the clan then depends on the young boggard's successful hunt to kill a sentient humanoid. Those who fail are exiled from the clan. As boggards age, they continue to grow and lose their coloration. Exceptionally old boggards bear completely white skin covering massive corpulent bodies. Some of these boggards rank among the caste of priest-kings and enjoy a life of grotesque pleasures ruling their clans.
Though often hunched over, boggards stand 5 feet tall and weigh close to 200 pounds. These creatures live for 50 years, though the harsh swamps and infighting usually cut these years short.
A boggard can hold its breath for a very long time.
A boggard can use it's tongue to hit a creature from a distance. A creature hit by a boggard's tongue attack cannot move more than 10 feet away from the boggard
From time to time, a boggard can emit a loud and horrifying croak. Any non-boggard creature within 30 feet of the boggard, has a change of becoming shaken.
This time, Wodin's perseverance paid off, and his Dergar hit fast and strong. From a distance, you could see it ripping skin.
Johan didn't let the chance slip, and finished the big brute with a swing of his mace. Blood and brains, where once was the creature's head.
==//==
Soon after that, the party converges on the last remaining boggard, finishing it off with no real trouble.

Wodin Earthbreaker |

Wodin sags a bit once the fight is over, gingerly testing his wounds. "All of things are, how you say, cleaning clock today," the dwarf complains. "Can close wounds?" he asks, looking at Johan and Sidious.

ELDRED CROFTER |

Could have gone better, the scout says.
I'll wait until you are ready and then move ahead - straight to the village the imp scouted I think - hit while we are fresh?

Father Sidious |

Woud the one that hit Sidious provoked as it moved in? Likely he could not have dropped it, but maybe. I cannot tell if enemies were taking -1 to hit and damage or not. So maybe a little less damage was done to us due to the Prayer. Also Sidious has an image up so the attack might have hit the image.
Longspear: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 1 + 1 = 251d8 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 1 = 16

Father Sidious |

After the fight Sidous uses his last channel to heal the party's wounds, making sure the ogre is part of the group if he is still wounded.
Channel Evil: 3d4 ⇒ (3, 2, 2) = 7
My healing gifts from Asmodeus are consumed. I now have only this wand. Perhaps we should search for a place that we can hole up and rest.

Johan Hale |

Johan expends the last of his magic to close Wodins wounds and bring himself back from the brink of death... again
Cure moderate on Wodin: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (5, 8) + 6 = 19
Cure moderate and cure light on Johan: 2d8 + 6 + 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7, 4) + 6 + (1) + 5 = 23
Johan's total HP:31/60

DM Aku |

From a nearby place, invisible, you hear Abraxas voice.
"ปริญญาโทจากสิ่งที่ฉันจำสถานที่คุณเพียงแค่ฆ่าสิ่งที่อาจจะเป็นผู้นำของหมู่บ้ าน ความสำคัญของตอนนี้เพียงหมอผี"
"Master, from what I remember of the place, you just killed what was probably the leader of the village. Importance of now, only the shaman."

ELDRED CROFTER |

That is a good point Priest... we expended a lot of our might in that tree fight, that said?, we've riled up these frog people. If we leave now? We'll find traps and ambushes galore tomorrow. They know these tunnels and we don't - and so resting up in them isn't an option - it is suicide until we clear them. If we can't press on then I am in favour of withdrawing all together, maybe back to town, and coming back in a week or so... the frogs will have grown complacent - somewhat - again by then.
Stay or go people?
Then he thinks.
Or... Parley, hmmm? Maybe they know enough to help us?

DM Aku |

Such savage tribes, usually decide their leader by combat. Kill the actual leader and you become the tribe leader.
If Abraxas is Right, you may use that claim, if you can communicate with them somehow. Since there's some kind of language barrier.

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa |

Int: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Agrippa tucks that knowledge away for use perhaps later.
I propose that those of us able to continue should go and find what remains of these Boggards. turning to the Ogre he says See there, a leg of frog as promised.
GM, does Agrippa know what language the boggards speak?

NPC - Grumblejack |

They speak boggard. >.<
Grumblejack look to Agrippa and then to the frog man, he walks to the one killed by Johan, grab one of it's legs, while putting his feet to keep the body from moving and pull.
A sickening noise as the member is thorn free from it's body.
"You un's have strange tastes. " says the ogre giving the leg to Agrippa "Grumblejack is sure that this will taste as bad as it smell, you should not eat it un." he says, no sarcasms in his voice.

Wodin Earthbreaker |

Wodin nods deeply. "Make Shaman bow before Asmodeus, make boggards help get what came here for," he suggests to the others. "Proven can kill them all. Threat will compel them."
He rests his bloodied weapon over his shoulder, looking a good bit better after Sidious and Johan helped patch up his wounds. The dwarf turns to Grumblejack and points at the greatsword-wielding former-leader of the Boggards. "Take body. If they not understand words, understand actions."

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa |

Agrippa wrinkles his nose at the Ogre No thanks. I had my breakfast this morning, perhaps our friend the Dwarf cares for sauteed leg of frog? then he turns to the others and says We continue on, the tribe is finished and need only be brought to heel.
Then back to the Ogre Agrippa says Grumblejack, would you care to go find this encampment of frog men with me?

ELDRED CROFTER |

you're thinking of a challenge?, Eldred asks.
Can we speak frog? You have a spell for that?

NPC - Grumblejack |

Grumblejack look at the dwarf and says "Grumblejack is not your mule dorf. " and make no mention to pick up the body, but he walks near it, pick up the greatsword, and cut what is left of the leader head, then he turns to Agrippa "Point the way un', Grumblejack will do the killing for you." he says with a ugly grim.

ELDRED CROFTER |

Easy now my large friend, Eldred says disarmingly as he can.
All in I say - I'll come too.

Johan Hale |

Int check: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18 oh, yeah! smarter than the wizard!
Johan might not be the brightest everburning torch in the sconce, but he knew the principal of 'might makes right.' When Grumblejack came over to claim the frog-king's head, Johan warned him away with a look. Not your kill...
He kneels down to retrieve the gory trophy, hoists it over his shoulder and nod in response responds to the others' suggestion of moving into the village proper to cow these frogmen. Right, Sidious, have your imp lead the way...
Assuming they arrive in the village unmolested... Johan takes a few steps forward from the knot. He plants the frogking's sword point down in the mud and hurls the severed head ahead of him. He pounds his mace on his shield twice and bellows wordlessly with arms outstretched, daring any to challenge his might.
This is either going to end really coolly, or with Johan filled with javelins.

Wodin Earthbreaker |

Wodin shakes his head at Grumblejack. "Not implying mule. Implying mighty warrior. Strong enough to destroy tribe, mean enough to consider. Little frog men will cower before you," the dwarf explains. "Will also come. Show of force is needed. Well armed, armored. Imposing, no?"
---
When Johan roars a challenge to the other boggards, Wodin stands tall behind him, all four and a half impressive feet of Stonelord prepared to back up the other Asmodeans. His weapon rests casually on his shoulder, but his eyes seem to glow through the visor of his helmet, a warning to any that would look upon the members of the Ninth Knot.

DM Aku |

Every boggard in the Lower Caverns seems to lives here in seven crude mud and thatch huts. There were sixteen bane-wog boggards in total, not counting the leaders;
You can ‘t say if the boggards are stunned by surprise or fear.
Fact is, none venture forward, none challenge Johan’s claim. After some brief silence, from the mud tent G, emerges a boggard, that you are pretty sure is a female.
She walks past the barbarian head, stopping in front of Johan. She says something in their frog-like language, that none of you understands. Then, tentatively, the boggard point to Johan and to tent she came from, some moments ago.
Intentions?

ELDRED CROFTER |

Eldred bursts into mocking laughter You need to mate with her to 'semen-te' your place in the tribe I think!

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa |

Agrippa although amused, doesn't show it. Low comedy is beneath him as a man of learning and exquisite breeding. He instead casts Detect Magic to search out any auras in the area.

Johan Hale |

Johan cocks his head to one side, clearly not understanding what is going on, until Eldred makes his quip, at which point he turns a pleasant shade of crimson. To his credit he recovers quickly. He reasons that violence and bold action have gotten them this far, so he cuffs the frogwife hard across the face (non lethal attack - unconscious would be good), knocking her to the ground, claiming his 'prize' without actually 'claiming' his prize he hopes. Any of you froggy sacks of slime speak the common tongue? He bellows

DM Aku |

Johan, she was 22+ hp. Can't really knock her unconscious with only that.
The boggard Johan hit, get up as if nothing had happened, as if being beaten was a normal thing. The others, boggards keep in stunned silence while Johan bellows with no success for anyone that could understand the common tongue.
Some moments later, from north of the village, another boggard walk into the village, using a crude made staff to support his walking, his eyes clouded and sure enough, he only stops when he is closer to you 25ft as if he could not see you before.
At this one arrival, all the boggards starts talking at the same time, in their frog-like voice, if you did not knew better, one might suspect you just found a frog swarm.
Not much time passes tho when, the one that Abraxas confirm it’s the shaman emits a deafening frog-like horrific croak, silencing all the others.
The shaman then turns to the newcomers, the invaders in a barely understandable common says ”Be right. Sho’ power. ” he points to the tent the same female pointed and says ”Chief hut. Chief treasures.” then he points to the boggard that Johan hitted and using his staff, draw two lines in the ground ”Chief woma’.” pointing to Johan ”U woma’.”
In all this exchange, you got the impressing he is, for lack of a better word, high on some kind of drug.
The shaman walks two steps closer and continues ”Father Dagon showed Zikomo Hears-the-Father. Kumanda Slays-Nine-Men slay, restore Father Dagon glory.”
You know that, if you take any action, before Johan does, such as examining the tents and such, the tribe will not accept Johan authority anymore, since you are clearly challenging him.
Even then, it’s up to you if you want to search the tents.
Intentions?

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa |

Interesting.
Agrippa thinks he knows of this Dagon Kn:Religion: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13 but maybe its just some weird forgotten god of frogs...
Did Agrippa see anything with his Detect Magic spell?

DM Aku |

Due to your good roll on knowledge for the tribe, I'll give you some information about Dagon as bonus:
These vile frogmen venerate the demon lord Dagon who they simply call Father (since in their cosmology, Dagon sired them).
Dagon is the demon prince of sea creatures. He is worshiped as a deity by legions of sahuagin, locathah, skum, lizardfolk, tritons (those that have accepted the ways of evil), and some merfolk, and for the the purpose of this adventures, boggards! :D

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa |

Master Hale, I believe you have a tribe of Boggards should you choose to accept them... Agrippa says wryly.

Johan Hale |

Hrmm Johan frowned, then sighed in resignation. He turns to the others and speaks quickly, hoping that the shaman's basic understanding of common will be unable to keep up. Well, we wanted a secure base of operations... Shall we see how a boggard chief lives? He leads the group to the indicated hut, and addresses the shaman. Zikomo is wise and has heard the Father truly. I am Johan Fire-Eyes - CHIEF! And we were sent by Dagon! In fact, An evil grin plays across his face and he throws an arm around Eldred's shoulder. This is Timeon Talks-to-Toads. Anything Boggards want to ask the chief, must go through Talks-to-Toads first.
He enters the chief's hut and beckons for the others to follow. To Grumbljack he says, Guard the door. Look like you want to eat them - and make sure they don't talk Eldred's ear off

ELDRED CROFTER |

Eldred scowls but plays it up, "showing" submission.
Well played Johan, he mutters.
