Sister Azmaria, Aeryth, Kiwyn, Marius, Eli, Natanja, and Cernan - World Building:
Let's say Taldor is the Easternmost of these Aliied Kingdoms, and Sharn is its largest city.
Theramark , where we are now, is the Westernmost of these Allied Kingdoms.
We are currently in a small Western border town named Vigilant.
To the West of Theramark lie wild lands of nomadic tribes, including the Embishiu people from which Eli comes.
(In the opening gameplay post I unfortunately said Vigilant was on the Eastern border of Theramark, but that was my mistake. It is on the Western border.)
Kara-Tur is off in the Far East, beyond Taldor.
To the South of the Allied Kingdoms lies the desert nation of Niris.
Out in the Ocean to the Far West exists a slightly higher-tech island nation named Lantan, the capital city of which is York.
Would this work for everyone? :)
P.S. Avatar and The Legend of Korra are awesome!
P.P.S. Sister Azmaria, Kaya just asked your character a question in the gameplay thread, so this would be the perfect moment to introduce your character, if you'd like. :)

Kiwyn the White |

I like how Kayahidye thinks Kiwyn is uncomfortable with her being catfolk, when she's even less human then Kay. She's really just unsure of herself hiding her own appearance when Kay is so open with hers.

GM Angelina |

I loved that, too! Lots of good RP so far. I'm enjoying seeing how all your characters react to this strange situation and to each other. :)
Anyone who has added a homeland or regional language, please check out the Campaign Info tab. I've been trying to keep the World and Laguages entries updated with what has been added. Please let me know if I got anything wrong or left anything major out.
Thanks! :)

Sounds good to me!

Sister Azmaria |

good for me, had to run errands and I am going out to dinner with the wife so posting will be scarce until later tonight. also I responded...

Cernan the Patient |

Cernan, I think Kiwyn will be surprise at someone else knowing her native language. If you read enough from her lands you may even have the best chance of know what she is once it is revealed. Tho she isn't about to just drop her disguise for no reason. She was raised being told to keep herself hidden from the normal population, and only reveal herself around her own kind and other 'spirits of the lands'.
That could happen, I suppose. At this point I think I may wind up speaking every named language in the world that has a literary tradition, because of the numbers of languages involved.

Cernan the Patient |

Azmaria is greeted with several blank stares. a nun? in a tavern? she barely looks old enough to be out alone? a nun? the questions among whispering patrons.
I'm not sure if you'd actually get blank stares from much of the party, Azmaria. Considering that we were called here by a religious figure, a nun makes a lot more sense than, say, the tribal barbarians and intelligent flaming animals now filling the tavern, and most of the characters seem pretty un-judgmental; plus there's at least one party member significantly younger than you.

ALSO: I've created a spreadsheet with basic stats that people can fill in about themselves, so that we can remind ourselves at a glance of everyone's combat role/best skills, etc.
This thing and it will appear in my character's header as well.

@ GM Angelina: Work for me. I had Natanja hail from the capital of Niris (and the largest city in its Kingdom) -- Fyrah. I had placed Niris about 300 miles south of Theramark but I can make it further south if that works better?

GM Angelina |

Cernan, I'm loving the PC spreadsheet. Great idea! :)
Everyone, be sure to check it out!
Natanja, let's leave the exact mileage vague, if you don't mind.
Also, Cernan, although the city of York on the Far Western island nation of Lantan is a bit more modern/technological, it is more isolated. (Mostly humans and gnomes live there.) The city of Sharn, in the Eastern Allied Kingdom of Taldor is somewhat more cosmopolitan and connected to all the 'Central' nations of the World, and thus might be better in terms of libraries and such holding varied literature and museums holding varied relics. It's your choice where you'd like Cernan to come from. Perhaps he has visited both.

Cernan the Patient |

Got it. Sharn makes sense, then, and I'll stick with that's where he's coming from. (Wasn't sure if we were renaming Sharn and Taldor)

sorry took a while to reply...went to dinner and power went out...I love a rainy night but now I have water coming down th chimney into the fireplace.
also i was referring mostly to any other patrons..as they may not have seen a nun (or possibly gun totin' nun.)

Cernan the Patient |

Cernan also doesn't know much about heritage of Aasimars, since he hasn't met many, but you could always ask him about it if it came up in conversation.

Also... barring any changes or additions I might need to make based on what else you guys do this week... I actually have the next gameplay post completely written and formatted! It's exciting, and it's tempting to post it now, but I will stick to the schedule and wait until late Friday or early Saturday to do so. I want to keep my word and not cut off anyone who hasn't had much of a chance to post yet. So... Hard.... To... Wait.... LOL.

Cernan the Patient |

Yeah, when games start there's always a posting rush.
P.S. Sorry if my character's being a bit mean—but I noticed some of y'all are being very friendly and trusting, while I have the Suspicious trait and the Condescending drawback and will continue to role-play those, while still sticking to moral goodness.

yeah lets wait a bit, Azmaria has just had her very first ever taste of booze. (interesting)
also she has yet to actually approach the great prophet Eli (of course he has no idea that he is a prophet)

Natanja Ogenj |

@Cernan: Natanja has experience with Emberkin in her homeland ... and a few other Celestials ... So maybe once she gets to observe and hear more, she can figure you out (if she doesn't straight up ask you, once the group is a little more settled).

Cernan the Patient |

@Natanja: Sounds good, and I'm sure Cernan wouldn't mind learning more about who he is or where he might've come from.

Marius Rizallo |

I go to sleep and wake up to 1000 posts! O_O
@GM A: Sounds good, the distant Kingdom of Taldor it is. I'll try and write a little something up on where exactly Marius is from. He may have been to Sharm once or twice, but it's not the kind of place he's originate from or spend very much time. Smaller towns, villages, and forests are more Marius's jam.

@Shyness: Love that you listed your favourite skill on the spreadsheet as 'punch stuff in the face'. Nice. ;)
Haha, thank you! I'll be here all week! Don't forget to tip your waitress!

Arabeth, as I understand it, I don't think you'd actually have to touch someone to establish your oracle life link. It seems you could establish up to two bonds at once (one per level), but, no, I don't think you could put both bonds on the same person. I'd say that one person could possibly be the target of two different oracles' life links, although figuring how exactly that hp recovery would work might be tricky... Thoughts?
Also, a question from Natanja:
"How would you like the Shamans to tackle the Spirits they have embraced/follow?
Are they separate to the religious folk being it's more spiritual or part of the Saints hierarchy? Just want to make sure I'm playing it right according to the game world and structure."
For this setting, I envision nature spirits as their own entities, which are not gods, but which some primitive peoples might worship as such. Shamans might see them as gods, or they might recognize them as simply powerful guiding spirits worthy of following, similar to how people follow Saints, but not necessarily labeled as such. The campaign reality is that the Spirits are also God's creations.
Does this help?

Natanja Ogenj |

It does help. Can the Shamans give the spirits' names? Natanja's is Flame and Poterol is Lore (I believe) ...
or we can/do we simply refer to them by their general Spirit group/name...

GM Angelina |

Either way would work! You can choose how your character would choose to see it within this campaign reality.
Natanja, you and/or your people could refer to the Flame Spirit, or you could make up another name for it.
Poterol, no worries, there is no need to specify a name or worship tradition. You can simply be guided by a Spirit of Knowledge/Lore in a general sort of sense.

Kiwyn the White |

I know that technically Knowledge, Local is a class skill with ranks in it for Kiwyn, But considering she is from out of the area..., waaaay out of the area. I think she can be considered untrained with no ranks in it for here in this kingdom. Those ranks and training would be applicable to her own lands.

GM Angelina |

There are a few ways to interpret Knowledge (Local), and I'm fine with each of you interpreting it as you think makes sense for your character. You could figure it means a strong knowledge of a particular home area, developed over time. Or, you could interpret it as a knack for picking up information, scoping out locations, over-hearing gossip, and generally getting to know what's going on with one's surroundings, no matter what the specific location.

Elysium "Eli" Blackdun |

Um... so, did I end posting? It wasn't supposed to! It was supposed to be just a preemptive post. You can keep chatting or talking. :)
EDIT: Or do anything else!

GM Angelina |

I'd love it if six more people could post in gameplay after Eli, perhaps summarizing how their characters spend the remaining hours before nightfall. That would bring us to a new page of posts so I can post the new gameplay post near the top of a new page late tomorrow. :)

Cernan the Patient |

Annnd that's 150.
