Liberty's Edge

I would like to play, as this alias. Stats in profile

Spoiler:
He's an inquisitor of Cayden Cailean, and his driving force is anti-slavery/oppression. He was a street urchin and some of his friends were sold into slavery. After some Andoran's freed his friends, he joined their cause and served as a squire/page until Cayden called him to his service.

I've played about 5 games of pf and like it very much. I'm going to be switching my 3.5 group over in a few week and this would be a great way to help me learn ssome of the differences as well as be a lot of fun:) since I'm new to pf that means I'm also new to this site but I hashed out character creation last night and I think I pretty much have it down. This would be my first pbp game though. So I guess the question is, room for 1 more?

Id like to play a cleric but if theres already one in the group ill play whatevers needed or absent

Mez: That character looks good. We already have an Inquisitor, but now we have one in both teams! Welcome to the pool!

Jimi: We have several divine casters, and arcane, but we only have one Rogue. If you'd be willing to play rogue, good on you. A Cleric is always welcome.

If you want, you can download the PDF for Burning Plague and follow along. You can see what skills become what and know how Pathfinder differs from 3.5

I've read it before. I still have it on my computer but don't want to read it again and spoil the fun. I am familiar with the skill changes and some of the mechanical changes. I'm planning on switching my 3.5 group over in 6 weeks. I was just hoping learn as many of the changes as I can through playing them, that way I have less to crunch into a 4 day reading binge. Id be happy to play a rogue:) I wont have time to make a toon till this weekend though. When will this game be starting?

We currently have a character deadline of the 17th, the day after Father's Day. Get your character done and submitted by then, and you're in. My first post has all the info you need to make a character. Also, you take two Traits. No Rich Parents or Campaign traits.

where do I find info on traits?

Wouldn't you know it, you can find everything about Traits--and Pathfinder in general--right here! This site contains the total combined knowledge of everything Pathfinder. You can use anything you find there.

Sweet ill take a look. Id also like to gain framiliarity with the hardcovers though

Also wondering, how many players does it look like we have right now? My buddy whome I never get to see anymore since he moved several states away would like to get in

The site shows you what resource they get the item, trait, feat, whatever from. You'll know what's what pretty easy.

Just as an FYI, the classes under "Core" are the ones that I designated for this campaign, with a couple of exceptions. Any class under "Base" isn't from the core rule book.

As for number of players/characters, we currently have a total of 10 players who have submitted a character. On the 17th, if there are no more submissions, we will be playing two teams of 5, maybe a team of 6 and a team of 5 if Loup wishes to play.

If your friend wants to join, I say have him submit a character concept/sheet and we'll build from there.

Awesome, Will do

I would like to submit Grundbar Stonefist for the game. I just got the book recently, and have been looking for a way to play.
I've never used PBP before, and was hoping for some suggestions.

Grunbar, I'm liking the build. If you need assistance with gear or other things, just ask. Just so you know, your Channel ability will be greatly diminished if you use a Charisma score of 8.

Jimi, now's the time to make a character sheet! If Grunbar is finished with his build before the 17th, your friend may not get a seat.

Okay, thanks for the tip.

I have one question concerning the play by post method. Is there a certain timeframe that we all will be posting?

Is it we all need to be at our comps from say 5pm to 10pm or is it post whenever you can get logged on?

You can post whenever you can. Sometimes there will be a few days of no posts. If this happens, check the thread and see if there is something you can do to keep it going, even if it's nothing more than a post in the discussion thread that says "pop!"

Rock on!

Players to be, if you have not heard there is a big fire in black forest Colorado. myself and Nameless GM are possibly going to be evacuated from our house. So if we are, then we will have to put this game on hold until we are safe at home again.

You can still submit characters. The deadline is on suspension for now.

Uuuh. I hope you are ok and safe.

I'd like to join the game. I am newcomer to Pathfinder. I am interested playing rogue, but if you have too many rogues, I am willing to play some other class as well.

Kuolio: If you have a character submitted by the 17th, you'll be placed in the pool of potential players.

EVERONE ELSE:
We have reached our limit on players that can participate. Our most likely scenario is that we will be looking over all potential players and characters after the deadline and posting a list of who will be playing where and who will wait until next game.

Players who may or may not be removed: thank you for your interest. I will more than likely be doing this again, so keep an eye out!

How about Archetypes?

I am thinking Knife Master, it doesn't complicate things much.

I'd love to play an alchemist if there's room

Knife Master works. If you submit a character before the 17th, you're in the pool.

Jeffy, same for you. Get a character in and it will be considered.

How long scenario this will be, what I mean is what level we are likely to achieve?

This is more than likely a one-shot, as the game is only one adventure long. If you're interested in continuing after the game is done, I might be able to work on something.

The Nameless GM wrote:

Thanks, good to know (that what I was expecting, just wanted to make sure).

I was thinking something like (but I am willing to change her details... like class and/or race, if needeed):

Alika Seanja
Human Female Knife Master Rogue 1
NG Humanoid (Human)

Alika is Varisian nomad living in "gipsy" style. Traveling with different caravans or sometimes even on her own if she can't find suitaple company. Doing what ever jobs she can find. She has been traveling since kid. Sometimes her family stayed longer in same city, usually they made just short visits. Lately she has been accompanying a traveling circus (and maybe pickpocketing unsuspecting audience?).

Alika is unsociable and quiet person. She is not a mean person, but her limited social skills can often lead her into troubles. She tries not to draw attention to herself, just to avoid troubles.

Alika has typical varisian dusky skin and violet eyes, she long dark hair. Alika likes jewelry and colourful clothes and scarfs, especially her kapenia (family scarf).

Sneak Attack If a rogue can catch an opponent when he is unable to defend himself effectively from her attack, she can strike a vital spot for extra damage.
Sneak Stab (Ex) A knife master focuses her ability to deal sneak attack damage with daggers and similar weapons to such a degree that she can deal more sneak attack damage with those weapons at the expense of sneak attacks with other weapons. When she makes a sneak attack with a dagger, kerambit, kukri, punching daggers, starknife, or swordbreaker dagger (Advanced Player's Guide 178), she uses d8s to roll sneak attack damage instead of d6s. For sneak attacks with all other weapons, she uses d4s instead of d6s. This ability is identical in all other ways to sneak attack, and supplements that ability.
Hidden Blade A knife master adds 1/2 her level on Sleight of Hand checks made to conceal a light blade. This ability replaces trapfinding.

Looks good Kuolio! Just get an alias made and you're in the pool!

Lets see... EDIT: ... seems to be working. I even found good Avatar!

"I have been traveling with this mediocre circus way too long, I really need a change. Pickpocket is not something I was dreaming about as a kid... but all those tedious job interviews... I get headache just think of them."

The Nameless GM wrote:

Traits: You are allowed to take two traits. These determine where your character comes from and how they do what they do. The only Traits not allowed are Campaign traits and Rich Parents.

I forgot traits.

River Rat(Riddleport): You learned to swim right after you learned to walk. As a youth, a gang of river pirates put you to work swimming in nighttime rivers and canals with a dagger in your teeth so you could sever the anchor ropes of merchant vessels. You gain a +1 trait bonus on damage dealt with a dagger and a +1 trait bonus on Swim checks. Swim is always a class skill for you.
Reactionary: You were bullied often as a child, but never quite developed an offensive response. Instead, you became adept at anticipating sudden attacks and reacting to danger quickly. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Initiative checks.

EDIT: If those are ok and I get selected, I have to add River Rat to Alikas backstory and change skill point to swim (maybe from Climb)

Sam, looks ok. I would need an alias, but you're having a little trouble, no worries.

Just wondering, the HE, is that supposed to be NE or Human? If you mean Neutral Evil, I stated before no evil characters.

^Might be Half-Elf.

Recruitment Is Closed

For those of you who submitted a character on time, you're in the pool of characters and will receive your position and team placement soon.

For those with no character, thank you for your interest. If you want to apply to other games, keep your hopes up!

Sam, you have a good build a concept, so I'll make an exception for you. You need an alias, so you have until Wednesday to make one with a complete character sheet. If no alias has posted by then, you will be disqualified.

Just to round out my character a bit:

Background:

History:
Growing up in the Varisian port city of Riddleport, Gennor exhibited a gift for the bardic arts from a young age- as a child he was often placed in charge of the other children as he sang the best songs and could sing lullabies that would send even the unruliest children into a peaceful sleep. As he got older, he discovered how to sing dazing songs and songs that allowed him to heal and put even hostile people to sleep in order to avoid unnecessary bloodshed, he also learned to focus his singing to produce simple magical effects that were of great versatility and usefulness.

But, growing up in such a rough and tumble town, his father and mother wanted to make sure that he could also defend himself and so taught from a young age the art of the rapier and short bow for when his songs were not enough to protect him. While his parents had grown tired of wandering the land in caravans before Gennor had been born, he found himself struck with wanderlust and so headed out into the world to make his way, see new sights and meet new people, and start creating some new songs of his own.

Appearance:
Gennor is a handsome young man of 20 with wavy blond hair and violet eyes that often sparkle with reflected amusement or draw others in when he focuses his attention on them, especially women (and some men) who are swayed by his looks and charm. He stands 5’10” and weighs 165lbs. with a frame that while moderately toned has neither excess muscle nor excess fat either. As is the style of his people, Gennor proudly wears his kapenia and is seldom seen without it on. He also tends to dress in colorful (though stylish) clothing, always incorporating a little bit of orange and green in, even if on a handkerchief in his vest pocket or a woven bracelet.

Personality:
While certainly having a certain roguish charm about him and an air of mystery, Gennor does not tend toward the larcenous arts that many expect from Varisians. He prefers to have people give them their money for a moving performance rather than swindling them out of that- though he certainly is familiar enough with such activities as not all members of his family were so scrupulous as him. He enjoys life and takes each new adventure or misfortune as simply another surprise from life, feeling that such things will make for greater songs in the long run. He is also quite curious to learn new languages, new places, the local ins and outs of any area he stays in for long, etc.

Also, I forgot the additional language he gets from a rank of Linguistices, which would be Varisian.

Opps, wrong alias- let's try that again.

Liberty's Edge

Do we have an ETA on Razor's game? It's been about 2 weeks, but I know her schedule is funky, so I was just wondering.

Right about now link to Gameplay

Sorry for the delay, I had to get out of my schedule that was early in the morning and then late afternoon, had me to tiered to do much. But now that I have a regular schedule that starts tomorrow...sortta I have time to do the posts.

Is it too late to join? I am not new to Pathfinder but I am new to playing on the forums.

darth borehd: It was too late, and then a player made no move what so ever.

The guy you will be replacing on my team was a dwarven fighter. We need on my team a good damage dealer. How you read this is up to you. Since you're no newb when it comes to Pathfinder, feel free to go a little further than the CRB. APG, UC, and UM are yours, just no Gunslinger.
