Eskilline Mendric the IV |

On his next turn Eskilline hunts and pecks amid the seaweed and coral.
perception: 1d20 ⇒ 14
swim: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Go fish.

Esmarelda Valarie |

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Swim: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Esmarelda's eyes slowly gaze over the reef, and it doesn't take the varisian woman long to spot her target. Taking a deep breath, she vanishes under the ocean's clear waves and makes it down to her crab she had seen.
A few moments later the surface of the water breaks, allowing Esmarelda to gasp for air. She smirked as she held up the crab and called to her friends. "Oh boys, and madam, I believe you may have a better chance over here." Before dropping the sea bug into the pot and closing the top.

Hodge the Undrowned |

Hodge bounces his palm against his forehead as he watches Esmarelda scoop up a crab. Of course!
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
He calmly strolls over to a crab. Breaking orders to mimic the crew, Hodge does not place it in his pot, but grabs it with both hands and lifts it high above his head towards his shipmates; it may be more pertinent to help these poor, blind humanoids who seemed to be made of some sort of cork, as he could easily fill his own pot with crabs afterwards.
So, DM's discretion on this. Unless you want me to substitute my swim check for anything else, I assume I can just walk around and pick up crabs. I'm going to use my turn to (hopefully) erase someone else's perception check, and (hopefully) make the swim check easier, since I removed several feet from the swim distance and gave them a more definite target.

Aviz |

Aviz makes sure to grab a pot so when he finds one he can actually get it, then sees their strange new crewmate with a crab, holding it up like a trophy. Aviz swims over and puts the creature away, then tries to think about how to do this. "Uhh, yes. Keep looking." He points to the creature's "eyes", then points to the water, then himself, then to the pots.
Swim: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Eskilline Mendric the IV |

More looking and such.
perception to find crab: 1d20 ⇒ 19
swim to catch crab: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
grapple crab (CMB): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21

The Changing Tide |

Eskilline managed to grab a crab and, at the same time, spots an old broken crab pot. He pulls it off of the bottom of the reef with some hardship and slides the crab in, clicking it shut.
It is a crab trap, not a pot. You will take a -2 to swim to carry it back to the ship.
Zale, G'Nosha, Hodge and Esmarelda.

Esmarelda Valarie |

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Swim: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Esmarelda scans the area, she saw no crabs so she moved along a bit to try again on the other side. While doing so she came back up to the surface for air. "You know, I never knew how hard it was to catch dinner." She said with a small smirk, trying to keep the mood light.

Zale Trelebor |

Preparatory Swim: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Zale did his best to detach himself from the proceedings, hoping someone else could point him toward a crab, as he was utterly failing to find one on his own.

G'nosha Balkyen |

I'm back! Thank you for botting me GM
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Swim: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
G'nosha spotted another crab, dove into the water, and this time managed to grab it.
"Need some help?" she asked Esmarelda.

Esmarelda Valarie |

"I wouldn't say no to it lovely." Esmarelda answered giving G'nosha a charming smile.
I'm going to put these rolls here for our next gather check, just to help things go faster!
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Swim: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Eskilline Mendric the IV |

On his turn, Eskilline shoves the crab in the trap and secure the lid? or (if that's a gimme)...
Perception (find new crab): 1d20 ⇒ 2 Dropping the trap if he finds a new crab.
Swim to new crab: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Grapple said crab: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Zale Trelebor |

Zale gratefully dove towards Hodge, snatching up the offered angrily snapping creature and shoving it into the trap. He couldn't help giving the Undrowned a moderately confused look as he did so, still marveling at the creature's apparent total lack of a need for air.

The Changing Tide |

Zale and Hodge work together to stuff another crab in to a pot, Esmarelda fails to find one but G'Nosha dives like a pro and half fills her own pot. The party are getting a hang of it now.
Sorry about the absence guys.i was moving. And picked the hottest day of the f+$%ing summer to do it on. Man it was miserable.
Though Eskilline dives well, he gets mistaken by a slow moving fish, grabbing the thing and spooking it, before it slipped out of his hands and away.
Aviz.

G'nosha Balkyen |

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Swim: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
G'nosha disappeared underwater, and quickly returned, another crab in her hands.
"Here, it'll be your first one."

Hodge the Undrowned |

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Hodge searches for another Crab, but seems to have chased them off by hunting in the same spot for too long. He wanders around the bottom of the reef, neck craning down searching for another one to snatch up.
Hodge is moving in towards the center of the reef, 20 feet

Esmarelda Valarie |

Esmarelda opened her crab basket and allowed G'nosha to place the crab inside. "My thanks lovely." She smiled.

The Changing Tide |

Es managed to fill her crab pot and the others are slowly beginning to get in to the swing of things when...

Map is updated with current positions.
As you dive and look around you begin to feel like you are being watched. You manage to spot the creatures watching you, two small but vicious looking red and black lobster creatures. You spot them but they manage to move quicker than you, launching themselves at you with blinding speed and lashing out with their claws.
One attacks Hodge. The other attacks... (1-3 Es / 4-6 G'Nosha)1d6 ⇒ 6 G'Nosha.
2d20 + 2 ⇒ (3, 15) + 2 = 202d4 ⇒ (3, 3) = 62d20 + 2 ⇒ (18, 9) + 2 = 292d4 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6
2d20 + 8 ⇒ (17, 5) + 8 = 30
The lobsters hit with one claw each on their targets, the one attacking Hodge managing to clamp on to the man, holding him tightly, the other attacking G'Nosha not managing to grab the woman but doing a good bit of damage.
Hodge takes 5 damage and is Grappled. G'Nosha takes 4 damage but the grapple misses.
Fort saves versus Poison please Hodge and G'Nosha.
Aviz is up.

Aviz |

Perhaps I am just technically challenged, but I am having trouble finding the updated map. The roll20 link just brings me to the ship map.
Aviz turns sharply as his allies fall under attack by some sort of mutant super-lobsters. He grabs his weapon and starts hauling over to make some early lunch out of them.
Swim: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
If he can reach them with a move action...
Aviz chops down on the nearest creature!
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Esmarelda Valarie |

It ate my post... -_-
"Besmara's bones!" Esmarelda cried out as she saw the creature attack G'nosha.
Thanks to their good work in the bilges, Esmarelda had her rapier on her. She moved closer to G'nosha and her attacker, using her rapier upon to creature.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Ah! One more and it would have been a crit threat!

Zale Trelebor |

Some might have been surprised by the sudden attack of the lobster creatures, but Zale was quickly learning to expect the worst in any given situation. He tread water while he drew his blade, took in a deep breath, and dove for the creature threatening G'nosha.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 Minus underwater penalties for a slashing weapon, I assume...?

The Changing Tide |

Yup. If you are underwater you take the penalties aye. Thanks for the reminder Zale. Guys I am sorry I am updating so slowly, I have been planning a move and a whole life change AFTER just moving. I'll get better. I am going to drive this forward as fast as I can. Thank you all for bearing with me, I appreciate it greatly.
Aviz and G'Noshas attacks connect but seem to be a little less effective than usual. Esmareldas attack however is a solid one, stabbing deep in to a chink in the creatures shell. The death lobster spasms and blood spurts in to the water around it. It lashes out with its claw at Es, who it perceives as a bigger threat due to the damage.
Both of the claws hit, clamping on tightly and beginning to crush the poor rogue.
Es takes 8 points of damage and is grappled. Make a Fort save please Es.
Give me a Knowledge Dungeoneering Check if you have it, on your turns please.
As Hodges attack misses the Reefclaw he is facing goes to try to murder him back.
The creature managed to miss the strange armour clad monster completely.
Next Round begins now. Esk can take two turns if he gets back.

Esmarelda Valarie |

Not a problem man! Life happens. Wow, Es is at 0
Fort: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Had they been above the waves Esmarelda would have let out a scream of pain.
Lady luck, thou are fickle.
Esmarelda began to twist in the claws of the creature as she tried to break out of the grip.
CMB: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Some one please get this thing away from Es before it kills her, oh and healing would be welcomed! XD

Aviz |

The one person who has shown Aviz compassion on the ship looks to be on the verge of death. Aviz swiftly chops down upon her attacker!
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

The Changing Tide |

Aviz chops down in to the crab demon, driving the creature over the edge and in to death, but not before it gets in its last snap. It spasms as it releases Es, who floats away lifelessly with blood spurting from the wounds she has received, its claws instantly seeking its attacker. Both of the claws hit, clamping hard on to the man, before falling away as the creature drifts away lifelessly.
Aviz takes 3 points of damage and must make a Fort Save.
Trying to break free from a Grapple is a strenuous action and forces Es in to the negs. Es is unconscious and bleeding to death on -1.

Eskilline Mendric the IV |

The one person who has shown Aviz compassion on the ship looks to be on the verge of death. Aviz swiftly chops down upon her attacker!
Don't you have to move 35' away from the one you are fighting first?
[dice=swim (full-round)]1d20+1-2[/dice] And he sinks like a rock.

The Changing Tide |

Eskilline does indeed sink like a rock, all of 10ft to the reef below. From here he can see the demon lobsters better maybe.
Another turn please Esk.
Poison courses through Aviz from the claws of the dying Reefclaw but the mans constitution is just too high for it to take effect. The Strix shakes it off and continues to fight on.

Eskilline Mendric the IV |

[dice=swim (full-round)]1d20+1-2[/dice]
Eskilline kicks off the reef and swims northward.

G'nosha Balkyen |

Swim: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Damage: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
G'nosha dove once again to attack the creature, but her movements seemed restricted by the water.

The Changing Tide |

Zale lashed out at the creature near Hodge and managed to do some damag, distracting it from the huge creature as he began to lumber towards Es.
At the same time Esk managed to make it closer to Es, the creature near Zale lashes out with its claws, seeking to damage the man.
The creature misses. Top of the round. One creature left, next to Zale (Who seems to have gone MIA)

Esmarelda Valarie |

Con check 10: 1d20 ⇒ 4
It would seem Es still bleeds
Blood still flows from the gash inflicted upon the varisian woman by the creature.

Aviz |

Damn you woman, had to get separated from us. Aviz wraps an arm around Es's chest and goes onto his back, then starts swimming them both to the nearest dry spot. The boat, dry land, a rock above the waterline; anything to get her out of the water.
Swim: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
