Thoughts on Belneiros:
Why 1B on Breeding? Who were his parents?
Abilities add up to 240, fine for his age bracket. More Agility than Athletics is unusual, but I'm sure will suit his character.
Specialities add up to 100, fine for his age bracket. Given you're taking Crippled as a drawback and have the backstory to match, I'd prefer you didn't have 2B in Run. Maybe one in something else Athletic (Strength? Jump?) and the other in another Ability area?
Destiny points, I see you have Lord Tyrick for a Sponsor and you've taken Crippled for your leg wound. They balance each other out, so you should still have 3 Destiny points; however, you also need to take a Flaw in Athletics, Agility or Endurance owing to your age bracket. This will not give you an extra Destiny point, and is a trade-off for the extra experience.
Your shopping looks fine to a casual eye, and your derived stats add up well.
BlindKitsune
Thoughts on Tyvorst:
Abilities add up to 220 exp, 10 more than he has at this age bracket. Good focus toward fighting and warfare, which may be useful if (Seven forbid) someone dares to break the King's Peace.
Specialities add up to 80, which is right for this age bracket. They seem well spread, but given your 1B for tournaments you may want to consider taking at least 1B in jousting to avoid the penalty if he actually rides at tilt. On the other hand if that's something you're planning on picking up early in the game then it would be a great thing to learn 'on-camera' so up to you.
Destiny points are right for this age bracket; from 4 you've gained one and spent three, putting you on two. My copy of the book has Heir on page 83 that doesn't seem to give a bonus to Status, but the +1 modifier to the result of dice rolls seems reasonable so if it isn't written elsewhere I'm happy to houserule that in.
Gear the Courser is a good choice, but why does he have a Stot? Possibly a Rounsey instead unless you have a particular reason?

Breeding is just a skill that shows that he knows the customs as a knight.
I had the 2B in run as he was decent before his wound, it also doesn't make me almost a combat log that can't move in combat but a minimal distance on foot.
I will probably fight in a "lighter" armor to avoid a movement penalty and drop the mail armor for something less punishing, as movement is important in combat.
The 2B in run, I am open to suggestions I had it there as he was more "fit" before the injury, but also to mitigate some of the cripple penalty.
Another way would be to spend a destiny point and take Armor Mastery, and take Ring armor, pay the additional 100ss, at least this way I still have decent armor and same Movement of 2.
Change Breeding 1B to Courage 1B.
If I must change 2B Run, will put 1B Resilience, 1B Strength.
I will take Flaw in Endurance.
Will make the changes soon, and I don't know if I should keep the courser is rather expensive, but befit of my station, if I get the palfrey, is a good horse, but not of my station, the social game...
BlindKitsune
On the whole I'm against making choices in chargen to mitigate a penalty you're taking - if you have a penalty, then be penalized by it and exploit the roleplay possibilities involved.
You can keep the Breeding 1B if you like, I'd thought it was more of a reference to your own breeding but your reading of the specialty is correct.
As a compromise let's leave him with 1B in Run, and put the other one into something else; Resilience, Strength or Courage as you please.

Will get started on my Maester character today, and should have the crunch portion done. First time, so please look over for me as I am sure to make some mistakes...lovely system though...easy to understand!
Also, starting work on local map for fief...so we are located on the coast? And have mines in the nearby hills? Just want to get the geography sorted out before I get too far with it.

Ok..here is the very rough character crunch for my submission...please check and advise as to the suitability of the character..once that is sorted out, I will write up his fluffy background.

OK, so i have done the crunch. I am certain there is something i have done wrong, or something I have done that is counter-intuitive to my intent with the character. In the spoiler below i have placed the stats.
The things that are blank, I have answered in previous posts (in terms of fluff) but let me know if there are any other questions I should address. Still haven't chosen a name. Would i have the last name of Ghaele or something else? I assume not Ghaele since I am not an heir.
I have no idea how much money i should start with, I couldn't find that tidbit in the book.

Alright, here is Iolanda, Ghaele's precocious younger sister & mostly loving thorn in his side...
I have her 'Crunch' finished & I have her personal history in my head. Just presently grappling with how to put it on 'paper' as it were. Any questions from you, BlindKitsune, will be happily answered.
BlindKitsune
Alright that's done so I'll check out the new character submissions! Thanks for the rapid response people.
Thoughts on Maester Lucen:
He's bastard-born? Wherabouts, or what is his surname even if he rarely uses it now he's a Maester? Are you still thinking he's a Marbrand son?
Abilities total up to 240, which is correct for your age bracket. I can't find a hard-and-fast rule on it, but I think it would be better if your Status was at the same level as Tyvorst's rather than Lord Ghaele's. Hope you don't mind shifting those 30 Exp somewhere else? I like what you decided to do with Fighting and Fencing; reliably good without being spectacular is actually a pretty good choice for the role I think you're playing. Given your weapon choice though, consider shifting the extra status die to Fighting and changing one of your benefits to Braavosi Fighter I. Though then I'll definitely want to hear where you learned to fence in your biography! Alternatively consider an extra dice or two in Language, as you're currently illiterate.
Specialities seem to add up to 70 Exp, which is three dice short of the experience you get for your age bracket. Enjoy finding homes for those as well. ^^ Possibly a dice in Research, Decipher or Memory?
Destiny you start with 3, and the way I count you seem to have two destiny points left? Kudos for choosing Master of Ravens, which is an excellent choice for your role.
Your Derived Stats add up well (though do consider how they'll change after you fix the above). Your Athletics is presently flawed down to 1D though, which will change your standard movement down to 3 yds. I believe this would also change your sprint speed down to 12 yds? However you can balance this out easily with one of your stray specialties dice into Run.
Arright, on to Tenro's Crunch!
Firstly; no, your surname wouldn't be Ghaele unless you're of the House blood. You could either pick one, not have one, or be "of Somewhere" or "of (the?) Something".
Abilities add up to 240, which is right for your your age bracket. Happy with all your ability choices, though I'd love to hear where you picked up Valyrian. Trading in Essos perhaps? Don't tell me now, put it in your bio later and I'll look out for it. :)
Specialties add up to 100, which is right for your age bracket. Good choices, too!
Destiny adds up to 2 remaining with your age bracket, and you have one of the appropriate physical flaws. Thoroughly approve of your choices of benefits and the synergy with your abilities, though I'll expect to see you spending a fair bit of your wealth on your own business concerns (instead of House business) if you want to maintain it long term. ;)
Derived Stats looks mostly good, though your Combat Defense appears to be 8-10 depending on what you're wearing at any particular moment. Armor does not contribute to your Combat Defense, although your Leather Armor would apply a -1 penalty to it.
And Irnk kindly put Iolanda in while I was writing this, so let's have a quick look at her!
A different age group! Fun to see, just bear with me as I double-check the numbers in my head against the book and let's get started. Bonus points for getting the sibling love/grief just right in my humble opinion. Yes, I have a brother; it is known. ^^
Abilities add up to 230, which fits to the age bracket you've chosen if I ok the ability you've dropped to 1. I hadn't planned on agreeing to any ability dips in character generation (mostly because when I've seen it done in the games I've played in it's usually a thinly veiled attempt to get more experience at the "cost" of a poor ability the player never plans to use anyway. However the young noble daughter of the House having 1D in Deception is so outrageously risky that I'm absolutely fine with the idea since I feel this is how the optional rule is supposed to be used. I will expect to hear something in the bio about how she persuaded Ser Darlos to train her in fighting though, since it's not something her father would be overly keen on. Ditto her atheism since everyone is expected to be (at least outwardly) a worshiper of the Seven in the South.
Specialities add up to 60, which is right for the age bracket. For Long Blades, again see above re: persuading Ser Darlos to give her some clandestine lessons in fighting and warcraft.
Destiny... hmm. I'll start with the Drawbacks (because I always do). Why Fear of House Baratheon? She wasn't born when the War of the Usurper took place, and I'm not aware of the Stag having much of an impact in the Westerlands since then. Fear of a particular individual favored by the House isn't a good enough reason for a deep paralyzing Fear of the House as a whole if that's what you were thinking. If Renly Baratheon rode in to visit Lord Tyrick, why would she be terrified of him?
Happy for you to have a Nemesis if you like, but there isn't a Sept on House Ghaele lands and consequently there isn't a Septon either. Mendicant Septons and Septas roam through the area periodically to hold services for the Seven, but they change constantly enough that none of them could really qualify as a Nemesis. Possibly she's been a ward in another House with a Septon for a few years recently, but that opens another can of worms - not impossible, but let me know if you want us to work this one out or if you'd prefer to pick (a) different drawback(s).
That said, good choice with your benefits (particularly Courteous) and no issue with any of them. Assuming we find a different two Drawbacks, you do have 4 Destiny points left.
Derived Statistics, Intrigue Defense adds up well, same with Composure and Health. Combat Defense adds up well, but I'm putting a very large question mark on her suit of heavy armor.
Will be good to hear exactly why she has this and why Lord Tyrick is unaware that his fourteen year old daughter has a not-inexpensive suit of... I'm guessing mail?
It looks like Crunch is mostly decided on, or at least we're getting there and we all know who we are. While Snake Charmer is working on his, I'll get a few points and questions together to support structuring your bios and we can work out how our stories weave together, who we know well and who we don't really like all that much.
BlindKitsune
Looking at the ages so far, we have characters who are 34, 33, 32, in their late 20s, 18 and 14. So, going back to your concepts and your personal histories now that you've had a chance to do your Crunch (Snake Charmer, feel free to wait on this until you've had a chance to Crunch out) let's see if we can weave a few more strands into the tapestry of House Ghaele's recent history.
Write at least a brief personal history around the following dated events, bearing in mind that it is "now" 298 AL, trying to cover where you've picked up any unusual abilities, specialities, benefits or drawbacks, as well as the questions I'll pose at the end.
261 AL - Tywin Lannister puts down the Reyne-Tarbeck Rebellion; Tyrick Ghaele fought for Tywin with a contingent of House troops. Tyra Ghaele was a hostage and companion to Joanna Lannister at this point. Tywin is appointed Hand of the King.
262 AL - Cersei and Jaime Lannister born to Joanna and Tywin Lannister.
264 AL - Belneiros Veloren born.
265 AL - Maester Lucen born.
266 AL - Tenro's character born. Joanna Lannister dies giving birth to Tyrion Lannister. Tyra remains at Casterly Rock in some other capacity but mostly hostage.
275 AL - Gregor Ghaele dies in his bed and Tyrick rises to the lordship at the age of 31.
276 AL - Defiance of Duskendale takes place; King Aerys Targaryen kept imprisoned by Lord Darklyn of Duskendale for several months in an argument over taxes before Tywin Lannister and Barristan Selmy assault the castle and rescue him. The Darklyns are burned alive for their treachery. Later historians claim that the Defiance of Duskendale marked the beginning of the end for Aerys's sanity.
277 AL - Lord Tyrick weds Karyne Prester. Lord Gregor or Tyrick has repaid the Lannister gold and Tyra has returned to Goodby Knoll by now, pregnant with Tyresa Hill (again, SC has final say when she decides on age - returning in 277 would mean she's 21 'now'). She refuses to name the father publicly, although it is widely rumored she has told Gregor and Tyrick.
280 AL - Tyvorst Ghaele born to Karyne and Tyrick Ghaele. A year of false spring, a great tournament is held by Lord Whent at Harrenhal. Prince Rhaegar wins the tournament and names Lyanna Stark the Queen of Love and Beauty over his own wife. Tywin Lannister enraged when Aerys names Jaime to the Kingsguard. Tywin resigns the Handship and returns to Casterly Rock.
282 AL - Lyanna abducted by Prince Rhaegar. Lyanna's brother and father Lord Rickard demand justice from King Aerys, but he has Rickard burned alive and Brandon strangled to death as traitors. Houses Baratheon, Stark, Tully and Arryn revolt in Robert's Rebellion. Battle of Ashford, Siege of Storm's End, Battle of the Trident in which Robert kills Rhaegar. Westerlands host marches to and sacks King's Landing, including Lord Tyrick and House Ghaele contingent.
283 AL - Birth of Daenerys Targaryen, fall of Dragonstone, flight of Targaryen heirs. Robert crowned King of Seven Kingdoms owing to blood relationship to House Targaryen, weds Cersei Lannister. Rebellion is over. Robb Stark, Jon Snow born.
284 AL - Iolanda Ghaele born to Karyne and Tyrick Ghaele. Prince Joffrey Baratheon born to Cersei and Robert Baratheon.
285 AL - Jyana Ghaele born to Karyne and Tyrick Ghaele. Sansa Stark born.
287 AL - Arya Stark born.
288 AL - Trystane Ghaele born to Karyne and Tyrick Ghaele. Bran Stark born.
289 AL - Greyjoy Rebellion. Iron Fleet destroys Lannister fleet at Lannisport, burns and raids up coast to Riverlands. Ghaele warships destroyed. After several months' fighting in the Riverlands, King Robert's forces push the ironborn back to Pyke and storm the castle. Beginning of the long summer (continues to present day).
290 AL - Harrowing of the Rylls. I've written enough about this already, right? ;) Founding of House Sandamel.
292 AL - Rickon Stark born.
297 AL - Targaryen heirs invited to stay in the manse of Magister Ilyrio Mopatis of Pentos.
298 AL - Raven arrives at Goodby Knoll informing the House of the death of Jon Arryn, Hand of the King, Warden of the East and Lord Paramount of Mountain and Vale. Campaign begins.
Oooookay, that was longer than I expected so I've spoilered it to reduce page clutter. No I don't expect you to reference every event that happens during your character's life, these are just things you might be aware of - except for the Stark children being born, who are mostly just there to give you a better idea of how old the Ghaele children are. Consider cross-referencing this to this to get a sense of when the other locals were born. Putting everyone else in would have cluttered things well past the point of being useful.
So yes, please write at least a few paragraphs on your personal history including:
- Where you were born.
- When you took service with/arrived at House Ghaele (if applicable).
- Where else you served or lived, two or three if there are more.
- At least two characters in the area you have a grudge with. No more than one of these should be PCs, since we don't want the group to be too disfunctional.
- At least two characters in the area you have a lasting friendship with. If possible, at least one of these should be a PC.
- The most dangerous (physically or socially) situation you've been in.
- An instance highlighting each of your Benefits or Drawbacks if possible.
- Any romance? If inter-PC, I'm probably looking at Tyresa being involved unless we have some more-than-brotherly companionship or Iolanda has been unusually precocious. Note that while I fully intend to fade-to-black any squishy bits, this is Westeros and different degrees of love, intimacy and seduction (air quote as necessary) are a core element in the story - and indeed, the rules system.
(No I haven't had the opportunity to make the extra NCs you've requested yet, but I will get on that soon!)

Re: Valyrian: i had pictured him as having traded across the sea many times (#dependent on length of journey) but while cities like Pentos and Bravos have their own languages, i could find no such language for Volantis, so i picked Valyrian.
If that is not suitable, Lys could also fit in his backstory.

@ BK - born 277 is good, I'm 21. What I would love is some old Lord from one of the neighboring houses who would have married her (ca 290ish) and then croaked in the last year or two. I'm thinking the father of any of the current Lords-of-houses, or maybe an uncle. If that even makes sense.
BlindKitsune
I'll do it, don't worry. I'm in a groove, lol!
Abilities you appear to have spent 250 exp out of a total of 210 for your age bracket. I'm also going to say absolutely no more than 2 Status for poor Tyresa; she's not going to have equal status to the true-born scions of House Ghaele. Happily taking Status back to 2 would bring her exp in line with her age category at 210, so you needn't make any other changes in her abilities if you don't want to.
Specialities you appear to have spent 110 exp out of a total of 80 for your age bracket. As Status is down to 2, that means you couldn't have more than 2B in Stewardship (which seems like an obvious place to save at least one dice from). Other than that your choices for specialities seem fine, you just have too many and need to remove three until you're down to 8B overall.
Destiny points are fine; you've added a drawback for your age category, and spent three of the four destiny points you were assigned on benefits. The text of Keen Senses in the new edition (it may have changed) reads: "Whenever you roll an Awareness test to notice something, you may re-roll a number of 1s equal to your Notice rank (minimum 1). In addition, you may add your Cunning rank to your passive Awareness result. Thus, your passive Awareness result is equal to your Cunning rank + (Awareness × 4)." so there is a cap on how many 1s you can re-roll, though it's a minimum of 1. Consider taking some Notice when you rearrange your specialties though.
Derived Statistics appears to already take into account a Status of 2 for your Intrigue Defense? Prescient of you; I like that in my players. ^^
Happily since your Status is 2, you roll 2d6 for your starting wealth instead of 4d6 and can keep that lucky roll. ^^
BlindKitsune
And another thing...
Lord Titus Algood died in 296, and could easily have remarried in 291-292. That would make for a fascinating history with the young Lord Algood now as well.
Titus was not a nice person.
EDIT for Crunch:
Well in that case you're fine, but consider whether you want to put 2B into Notice - there's not much point putting in 1 purely for Keen Senses.

I suppose she'd technically be Tyresa Algood, then, but after 5 years as Titus's wife she's happier going by Hill. She sure hopes whatever Tyrick got was important, because she paid a heavy price.
It also fits that the current Algood Lords are adolescent boys. She'd have been able to do a lot of damage there before she was shipped back to Goodby Knoll.

She's going to have a lover. It can be a PC if anyone feels the need, or an NC. It can also change. She doesn't particularly want a man to be the focus of her story, but she certainly feels that it's better to have one and not need him than the other way around.
I'll more fully flesh out her background later, but I think the broad strokes are there.

Name: Jaris Reigon
Where you were born.
In Ghaele lands, to small folk who couldn't afford another boy to feed. They already had an older son to take over the farm and a soon-to-be marriageable daughter. They traded him to a merchant for two goats.
When you took service with/arrived at House Ghaele (if applicable).
Jaris was taken into service under a merchant bastard, Galahad Hill. He was taught that gold is the only way to increase one's station, and with enough gold even a bastard could have a fine room in a castle. Gold only buys so much loyalty, however, and he was taught that you've got to be honest with someone at some point in your life. It was to House Ghaele that Galahad was honest, and he siphoned a portion of his earnings off to better the House in exchange for a safe place to rest his head when not doing business. Port towns were rarely safe places to live, and he fancied himself a bit genteel by living removed from the drudgery of dirt, salt, and iron in Lannisport. Jaris was raised knowing the House to be comprised mostly of good people, though there were firebrands in any lot, and that for non-blooded folk to get along, they needed to butter the bread of their betters from time to time.
Where else you served or lived, two or three if there are more.
Jaris served the house primarily in Lannisport, but went on several voyages across the sea to procure wine and spices from Volantis and Lys. During a several-year stint of his life, Jaris actually lived in Volantis, serving as a liaison on that end of the voyage. Making friends, procuring wine for cheaper and having it ready for pickup so less time was spent in port. This was a "sink or swim" type of training Galahad put him through, allowing him to return home only when he procured an item of great value after having started with only a few coppers. this item of great value would be a valyrian steel stiletto, if possible. It was after this that he returned home to work in Lannisport. This also coincided with the decline of Galahad's health. Galahad's own son having had no head for numbers and died as a mercenary during the Greyjoy Rebellion, Galahad bequeathed his business holdings to Jaris, from bastard to son of smallfolk. Jaris continued to use his business acumen to increase wealth and expand business, and on top of the status that came as a wealthy merchant he garnered a reputation as a man who had wealth, should it be needed.
At least two characters in the area you have a grudge with. No more than one of these should be PCs, since we don't want the group to be too disfunctional.
- A dornish sea captain, angry about the fact that part of his business was clawed away by Jaris and Galahad before him. Though he will do little in Lannisport because to do so would be foolish, he has previously attacked Ghaele vessels in an attempt to pirate goods. His last such attack was rebuffed and his ship destroyed off the coast of Dorne, and he has been building wealth back up and biding time since. though this sounds ominous, i didn't intend for it to be anything serious, just a minor annoyance (as in i didnt take the Nemesis drawback)
- His brother, Jeironn. Jeironn has inherited the family farm, but is covetous of his brother's wealth. He has taken to drink, and gambling when he can afford it. To this end, he has asked for money several times. Jaris has given him some money but has stemmed the flow as it only seems to make his brother more dependent.
At least two characters in the area you have a lasting friendship with. If possible, at least one of these should be a PC.
- Any PC that could need money from time to time and is in a position to give something, possibly intangible (but tangible is fine too), to Jaris in return. Information, sabotaging his rival's deals by souring local merchants to his rivals, etc.
- a steward/quartermaster in House Lannister, if permissible. Not looking for a Castellan or anything of actual status-related importance, but more like someone who is an indispensable (as indispensable as anyone can be in SOIFRP) servant in charge of routine (though possibly large) purchases of goods, particularly wines and spices but possibly of other things.
The most dangerous (physically or socially) situation you've been in.
When Jaris was left behind in Volantis. Though Galahad knew Jaris would succeed, it was not easy for Jaris. To prove himself worthy of the business Galahad was to bequeath him, he had to start with next to nothing and work his way up. He did manual labor at the docks to earn the coin to eat, slept in alleys, charmed food cart vendors into offers of work until he had earned enough money and experience to open his own food cart, then expanded into a wine cart business, getting close with wine vendors until he had the "in" to start getting reduced prices for larger trades by ship back to Lannisport.
An instance highlighting each of your Benefits or Drawbacks if possible.
- Jaris can generate wealth seemingly from nothing, given time or an opportunity. His time spent in Volantis taught him the importance of being courteous to even the urchins, for they have intangible goods to offer, and the importance of being eloquent when talking to ones in a better station than he, as he works from a disadvantage of low status.
- Though he was quite fit in his younger days, he has seen much more time behind a desk or at a negotiating table than sailing or working the docks in his middle age.
- Though he did have harrowing times where survival was difficult, the city is his element and he wants for nothing while in the city. Traveling on a merchant vessel is the closest to "nature" he has been in over two decades, and before that was simple farm work, with no need to forage.
- Being of above-average constitution, and coupled with a childhood of labor, Jaris is a healthy individual. As a youth he didn't encounter any severe diseases, and his above-average health helped defend him against disease in the city. This, coupled with his keen intellect, kept him from situations where injury was an issue (for the most part). Living in a city for most of his life, there were Maesters (in Westeros) and their equivalent in Volantis to take care of those who could afford such, and as such he has not needed to learn anything of first aid.
Any romance? If inter-PC, I'm probably looking at Tyresa being involved unless we have some more-than-brotherly companionship or Iolanda has been unusually precocious. Note that while I fully intend to fade-to-black any squishy bits, this is Westeros and different degrees of love, intimacy and seduction (air quote as necessary) are a core element in the story - and indeed, the rules system.
- No romance for him specifically. He would view sex as a commodity, and I personally don't want to RP things of a sexual nature. It doesn't bother me when other people do, I just don't want to involve myself with it.

Hamish Daggerell. Being two young men of the same station in the same area means one of two things will happen: you'll be best of friends, or you'll be fearsome rivals. The latter has happened with Tyvorst and Hamish. Their spats have always been petty and insignificant, but they have been constant over the years, and things have only gotten worse as Hamish has made several vicious comments about Tyvorst's cousin Tyresa in the wake of her husband's death. It doesn't particularly bother Tyresa since it mostly just seems to be whispered about it such a way that it gets to Tyvorst's ears somehow, almost like he would just do it to anger Tyvorst rather than publicly insult Tyresa. Of course, Hamish would deny doing anything so petty.
Gastros Aquino A Ghaele House bard and dancer. Tyvorst is not a huge fan of music and art, seeing them as slightly effeminate and a waste of time. Gastros for his part sees his young patron as a brute and a perfect example of how people were "Oh so much more cultured in Essos," though he's not nearly stupid enough to say so to his lord's son's face. Like his rivalry with Hamish, it's largely petty and one-sided, though in this case Tyvorst is the instigator. Tyvorst picks on poor Gastros whenever the mood strikes him and it is one of the few ways in which he actually shows he has a cruel streak.
At least two characters in the area you have a lasting friendship with. If possible, at least one of these should be a PC.
Tyresa Algood (Hill). Tyvorst is quite fond of his cousin Tyresa, since they are both generally not fond of their position in life and she is not much older than he is. She has had a genuinely harder life than he has, something he cognitively understands but doesn't always think of in his relationship with her. That being said, he genuinely cares for her and that is an easy thing to see from his interactions with her.
The most dangerous (physically or socially) situation you've been in.
During Greyjoy's rebellion shorlty after the burning of the ships in Lannisport a single ship's worth of Ironborn wandered by and considered attacking Goodby Knoll. They camped within sight of the walls, visible from the front of the building itself. Young Tyvorst was the ranking member of House Ghaele present, but was still young enough that he wasn't really left "in command" as much as the decision was left to people like Lady Karyne and Sers Darlos and Yugen. The Ironborn never actually attacked the Hall itself but it was clear they considered it, and they eventually went back, unsatisfied with the stalemate of the fortified position of the Ghaele forces and their own superior numbers.
Tyvorst decided that day to study warfare and the history of war as a formal discipline, something that he has taken surprisingly seriously ever since.
An instance highlighting each of your Benefits or Drawbacks if possible.
Tyvorst is not a gifted jouster. Anyone who sees him compete in the various tourneys about the Westerlands can see that within the brief time it takes him to be eliminated in the first or second pairing, but he has proven shockingly good at the Grand Melee ever since competing in one at a lesser Lannister cousin's wedding and scoring an upset win. Ser Jaime Lannister did not compete, but Ser Tyson Lannister did, and was expected to win given his record of good service in Greyjoy's rebellion and great physical strength, but Tyvorst took a strategy that surprised many and was slightly scandalous. He ordered his co-competitors to enter a defensive formation, preserving their numbers as other teams ran about trying to prove their superiority by defeating each other in quick offensive-focused fights. Once there were few teams left standing with a mere four or five fighters apiece, Tyvorst ordered his men to charge the stongest-looking team remaining, overwhelming them quickly and leaving them with a numbers advantage over their remaining opponents. They won easily, and Tyvorst made a bit of a name for himself in those circles.
Tyvorst wouldn't be a virgin or anything, but he's not involved in romance at this point in his life. He's not opposed to the idea, but he has been successful thus far in ducking strategic marriages, unlike his beloved cousin.

Fantastic, Tyresa! :)
Good stuff Tenro.
Purchased Castle-Forged weapons (that is, not produced by an in-house weaponsmith which we don't have as yet) start at twice the cost of normal weapons so should be affordable.
The others costs look fine; unfortunately while you might be able to find a Valyrian stiletto/dagger (unusual to find them crafted that way as it may be) during play, there is only a system for starting with one with the Benefit of Heirloom and either Heir or Head of House. Also because it's breathtakingly expensive in the sense of common day wealth.
Other things to spend your money on could well include trade goods (tangibly) or investing them in your trading enterprise elsewhere. Describe what sort of thing you'd like to have and how much you'd like to invest in it, and I'll let you know what you have. Mostly a wine trader I see? Possibly an investment in vineyards, warehouses and staff so the trade can keep on going in your absence?
Excellent bio information!
Tyvorst, can you give me the text of Heir as you read it?
In my copy I'm looking at Heir on page 83 of the Game of Thrones edition (right under Head of House) and it reads:
You are the heir to the lordship of your house. Should anything happen to the head of house, you exchange this quality for the Head of House quality. You must secure permission from your Narrator as well as your fellow players before you can select this quality. Only one member of your group can have this quality at a time.
No objection to the +1 bonus, but I'd like to know if I'm houseruling it in or if it's printed somewhere I'm missing.
Excellent bio information, I enjoy the relationships and the minor enmities with Ser Hamish and Gastros. I'll record the details on their sheets!

I'd like advice on which type of armor would be better for my character.
I'd like to buy a set of armor that is also really fancy clothes? sorta like Lord Bolton wore to the Red Wedding?
As for investments, I was thinking along those lines.
On the Volantis end, I'm not sure how much I would invest, I figure my investments were more of the intangible sort, as it would be hard to actually exert influence enough to safely maintain business holdings there. Perhaps via an investment in another whose main holdings are there, to secure better deals without actually having warehouses and vineyards on my books over there.
As I figure Westeros wine is just as desirable in the Free Cities as wine from the Free Cities is desirable in Westeros, I imagine investment on vineyards on our end is a good idea, as well as warehouses, pickers, guards, regular staff as well. Another idea would be a tavern or two, maybe one upscale and one otherwise. The purpose for this would be to keep the demand high, as well as (in the upscale one) have a room available for meetings of intrigue/business.
Diversity is key, though, so if our mines are still producing gold, I'd try to get a slice of that pie as well.
Other than that, primarily investments in shipping and security companies, to keep good relations and ensure support is available upon request (and at decent prices).
Could you direct me to a spot in the book that lists things like miscellaneous costs? Things like the cost of a guard (various levels of training and equipment), carriage travel, boats, boat travel, etc.?

Awesome maps, DS.
Adept Negotiator - When Tyresa first came to Algood Hall, Pypar Algood was only seven, and missed his mother terribly. After an introduction to the marriage bed that was beyond traumatic, to have to listen to the little brat's threats over breakfast was almost more than she could stand. She knew that Pypar was the only person who Titus Algood felt anything like affection for, though, and she knew that winning the boy's goodwill was her best chance of surviving her marriage. She put a smile on her face and patiently wormed her way into his heart, and in doing so, was able to blunt the edge of her husband's cruelty.
Treacherous - "Oh yes, Lord Pypar, your father was a wonderful husband, seven bless his soul. I can't imagine that anyone here would have wished him ill. Do you mean that his accident could have been some sort of plot? Should I be afraid? But you wouldn't let Jarmen do anything to me, would you my Lord? No, no, I didn't mean that Jarmen would have tried to kill Lord Titus. Why would you think that? He was as kind and loving a father as he was a husband...."
Keen Senses - When she walked the battlements of Algood Hall, she noticed the mortar was cracking. Noone else seemed to see it, and when she leaned against the stone, she felt it shift. What a tragedy it would be if it should happen to fall when Lord Titus was sparring in the yard.
Bastard Born - The silk was beautiful, so pure and white it seemed to glow. It would make a perfect wedding dress. She held it against her cheek and looked in the glass. It reflected the warmth of her skin and the gold of her hair.
"Oh, you poor thing," Mistress Wickhollow said. "You don't truly think Lord Tyrick would spend that kind of coin for his bastard niece's wedding, do you?"
I don't think Tyresa actually killed her husband. I don't know how he died (and I don't want to decide how he died without BK's go ahead - there may be a story there already). I do know that she regards his death as the best thing that ever happened to her, and it's certainly possible that she helped him shuffle off his mortal coil.
It also occurs to me that Tyresa may very well have a child. I hadn't thought of it earlier, but it fits, and it adds a new dimension (and a powerful motivation) to the character. Again, with BK's permission, I would like to introduce Kaylin Algood (age 3) who is a sweet child. It would amuse me greatly if Tyrick and Kaylin had a special (not creepy-Mall-Santa-special, nice-grampa-special) affection for each other, which would give Tyresa some influence, but also ties her hands a bit, as it gives Tyrick powerful leverage to use against her, should she provoke him.

The thing to remember about Valyrian weapons is that Tywin Lannister, the most powerful man in our particular part of the world, doesn't even have one.
Oh...
I just had an evil idea...
The Nemesis was actually both a way of her Atheism being more than just something to 'sweep under the rug' and also a sign that the Crown was still keeping an eye on our House, the Septon had been assigned at the behest of the Crown rather than the needs of the community.
Thinking about it, for this Campaign, I would go with Tywin Lannister as the focus of her Fear, seriously, anyone who knows his history and doesn't fear that potent combination of arrogance, power & treachery is a fool, and Iolanda is no fool.
How much of a problem would her own Father as Iolanda's Nemesis be? Basically, I imagined her as a genuine child prodigy. She's brilliant (Cunning 4 at 14? Yes, I could kick it up to 5, in fact I would have, except the Narrator in the previous Campaign placed a hard limit of 4 starting out on all abilities & I really didn't want to try to find where I could scrape the points. Although if I do drop her Fighting & Warfare down to more 'ladylike' levels, I will probably put them there.)
She has the kind of natural physique that it's almost a crime to force into a lady's comparatively more sedentary lifestyle.
Essentially, I was thinking of her as a kind of Alexander the Great or Havelock Vetinari, as a girl.
The fact that she really is that talented in all those 'traditionally masculine' areas, and the second born, might be a bit threatening to a father. He couldn't directly act against his own child, it would arouse too many questions & potentially cause harm to the House itself. But he could do everything in his power indirectly to make her life a living hell & encourage her to seek any means to escape. Then it's her fault.
Edit: Tyvorst, check & see what printing you have. A +1 modifier is a small enough change that it could very well have been a printing error that slipped in (or more accurately out) in the print copy and was corrected in the PDF.

[spoiler] The young lord and future master of House Gahele, natural leader of men, just don't let him lead them of the road by the 7 he might get us all lost in the woods. He acquits himself well in the tournaments and he is smart and knowledgeable, but has no manner for the court other than the basics, an area I must work with him, as all of this has earned him a fair share of rivals in the tourneys and those soon to be in the courts. This is were I must be to ensure our future in this House. Belneiros has come to see Tyvorst as a smaller brother from his iteractions with him, always encouraging him onwards.

Tyvorst sees Belneiros as someone who's life he wishes he had. Belneiros lives where he does because he's sworn to, yes, but he chose to whom to swear himself. He was perfectly capable of building himself a life anywhere he could physically move himself to, and he wouldn't have to be looking over his shoulder for someone worried he was going to come and take back Goodby Knoll.
Tyvorst is mostly amused at the prospect of his younger sister Iolanda and her unusual tastes. He was bound to figure it out sooner or later, even if she was trying to hide it from him. She'd ask just one too many questions about that old book he was reading about the formations on the Field of Fire, or asking about stretches for her rapidly strengthening wrists. It would drive his father insane though, and she's clearly good at it, so he encourages her interests as much as he can.
Poor Maester Lucen has been tasked with giving Tyvorst a proper education so he can recognize Banners and sigils properly. It hasn't stuck and Tyvorst simply doesn't have the patience for book-learning. He can read and he knows his history, now it's time to go run weapons drills in the yard.
Tyvorst probably doesn't have much of an opinion on Jaris. He's the one who makes the money and brings the wine. Like Maester Lucen, he knows that the movement of money and goods is important and in need of proper management, but there's simply no way he can sit and read nothing but ledgers all day and get anything but eyestrain. He probably doesn't know much about Jaris' past, assuming it's as boring as he thinks his present life is.

Status for wealth: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 4) = 11... Well, not the worst it could be.
Well, it's a start at least.
So yes, please write at least a few paragraphs on your personal history.
Where you were born.: Goodby Knoll, the birthing bed. After Tyvorst, mother took no chances & entrusted more of the household chatelaine's duties to her lady's maids in the final days of her second pregnancy.
When you took service with/arrived at House Ghaele (if applicable).: Birth, though to be honest, in his darker moments, Tyrick has bemoaned that you have been less 'in service to' and more 'a burden upon'. Granted, mother's labor did last the better part of an entire day and she was bedridden a week longer afterwards than when your brother was born.
Where else you served or lived, two or three if there are more.: Two years ago, you were 'invited' to stay for over a year at Casterly Rock. Though no overt mention was ever made of it, you suspect there may have been the beginnings of negotiations between your father & Lord Tywin Lannister that you be betrothed to his youngest son Tyrion. It was during this time that you became far better acquainted with exactly how dangerous a human being Lord Tywin truly was. It was also during this time that you finagled your way into martial training alongside Tyrion himself. It succeeded in keeping the two of you out of your respective fathers hair without raising too much of an uproar. Unfortunately, once you returned home, what had before been a simple vague disapproval on your father's part that you focused so much more of your time on books and the minutia of maintaining households, businesses & even military companies than a young lady's more 'appropriate' pursuits had frosted into an icy, implacable disdain.
At least two characters in the area you have a grudge with.: Is this a grudge that I hold against them, or a grudge that they hold against me?

This is good, though it probably led to some more tenseness and ill-feeling on Tyrick's part after what happened when Tyra was 'invited to stay' at Casterly Rock for a few years. On the other hand I can't see Tywin caring all that much.
Fear of Lannisters is fine, and if you've had some training beside Tyrion (and perversely I can see a Lannister Master at Arms goading Tyrion that even a girrrrrrl is better with a blade than he is) then you may have some form of casual friendship with the Little Lion.
At least two characters in the area you have a grudge with.: Is this a grudge that I hold against them, or a grudge that they hold...
Either one-way, the other, or both. A good example of the former is Jon Snow and Catelyn Stark; even though he bears no particular grudge against her, her hostility towards him definitely has an impact on his life. An example of the other is Viserys Targaryen and Robert Baratheon, who definitely hate and fear one another.
Often negative relationships can be at least as powerful or interesting as the positive from a roleplay standpoint.
Oh, and your evil idea is fine ;)
I'll put up the Discussion thread in the next day or two, and if everyone's ready I'll aim to start the gameplay (and roleplay) on Sunday.

(I haven't actually played this game yet, so this isn't gospel truth or anything, but I think the way it works is...)
Your armor's bulk imposes a penalty on agility tests but (as I understand it) you don't make a test for damage. You just multiply the weapon's damage by the number of successes on your fighting or marksmanship roll. So bulk shouldn't affect your damage. That's how I understand it, anyway.
Tyresa won't be wearing armor. The optimizer in me screams in fury, but I just don't see how she wears armor without completely compromising the "reality" of the game. So don't look to her for a lot of help in combat scenes. That's what you knights and such are for.
Not that that would apply to Jaris, a merchant could quite reasonably want some armor. As I'm sure you know. [/babble]
1. Is there any problem with introducing Tyresa's daughter Kaylin Algood?
2. Is there a story of how Titus Algood died? I'm trying to decide if Tyresa killed him, but if you already have a plan for his death, I don't have to think about it.
3 dragons=630ss.
She'll have one noble's gown, for special occasions. 200ss
For general use, she'll stick to a couple sets of common courtier's garb and a set of traveler's clothes for, you know, traveling. 100ss
She has a stiletto (maybe bought from Jaris) that was smuggled into Algood Hall when she was afraid for her life. 30ss
She owns a palfrey, though she isn't much of a rider. 50ss
She has a pinch of Sweetsleep and a single dose of Nightshade that she keeps hidden in her smallclothes at all times. 220ss
30ss probably in jewelry more than coin.

That was much my idea as well. Actually, I was thinking that the two of them almost got to the point of being genuine friends. They were both noticeably smarter than most of the people around them. They both had fathers who had precisely zero affection for them & for whom loyalty was a one-way street. In fact, I figured that Tyrion was actually the person who purchased Iolanda's arms/armor.
As far as the tenseness on Tyrick's part, that was what I was meaning to imply. Of course, it was mitigated by his near-complete disinterest in her. In a number of ways, the more I think about it, Iolanda & Tyrion are kind of mirrors of each other (or at least Iolanda sees them as such); the main differences being gender (though in many ways being a woman is almost as much of a physical disability as being a dwarf in Westeros' 'Man's World'), the fact that Iolanda's mother survived her birth, and Tyrion's dwarfism.
Thinking about it more, yes, Iolanda actually has a bit of a crush on Tyrion. While she would never admit it, even, perhaps especially to herself, she was genuinely disappointed when she was sent home instead of wedding him.
Ok, as far as how Iolanda gets on with the other PC's...
'Nutshell, elevator-pitch' versions.
Tyvorst: Big, lovable, kind of slow. In a number of ways, their relationship is similar to Tyrion's & Jamie's.
Tyresa: Somewhere between big sister & scandalous aunt. While she has never confided her feelings to her, (Iolanda is an intensely private person, or at least she isn't overtly demonstrative), Tyresa probably does recognize Iolanda's feelings about Tyrion. Iolanda comes closer to confiding in her than she does to anyone.
Belnerios: Probably sees him as an older, more worldly version of her brother. She is unlikely to have had enough contact with him to know him well enough to see beyond the 'older, handsome soldier' glow...
Maester Lucen is either her closest friend & the next closest to being a confidant after Tyresa, or the two of them likely can't stand each other, it entirely depends on how he feels about 'a mere slip of a girl (Handily ignoring the fact that with that Athletics, Fighting & Endurance she is likely bigger than any of them but Tyvorst & Belnerios...) wasting her time with books, figures & sums'...
Jaris... As someone who has learned of the power of money & trade, intellectually at least, she is going to recognize his worth is going to be greater than my be immediately apparent. The fact that she also recognizes that people do actually have an inherent worth entirely independent of their 'class'...
Ultimately, Jaris is likely something of a mystery to her & she is just precocious & inquisitive enough that mysteries are something like candy to her...
The NPC's...
Her father hates her. She really isn't entirely certain why, but it seems to be related to her mother's near-death in labor, combined with her decided 'unladylike' behavior.
Her mother... I think the two of them have a kind of unofficial truce. If she had been a better daughter, I.E. she saw 'ladylike' behavior as something more than a duty to be endured/'competent-at', their relationship would be warmer. As it is, her mother has another daughter to be affectionate with, with the added benefit that doing so won't mean strained relations with her husband.
Her younger siblings... I suspect that they both realize that their father can't stand her & relations between all of them are strained as a consequence. Something tells me that Jyanna holds the position of 'daddy's darling'. Trystane... is young enough he likely doesn't understand beyond the fact that she came back...
different.
edit: Blindkitsune, with the obvious exception of Valyrian weapons, how does the 'grade' of the weapon, per table 7-3 on page 128 relate to their cost?
