As Kaduk is looking over the elf and starts donning the chain shirt, Kwin comments Good idea. Any distinguishing marks on him? We could let them know in town that we found him in case any kin come looking for him.

Yurggen points and laughs as Kaduk dons his new armor. "Ha, Ha, you've got scorpion spit on your armor".
Makedonia looks at Kaduk wearing his new armor and frowns.
Better having it covering my hide, hope it does a better job at it than its previous owner.

Site is still down. Beginning to get seriously annoyed. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Yurggen:

Site is up again. Glee. Or something.
The corridor continues past the room, turning to the left, then to the right again, going up a flight of stairs and then turning right again, with a door in the wall ahead.
Try the door or continue down the passage?

Kaduk, why don't we try the passage before we try the door? If there are any more of those scorpions around, I think it would be better to track them down and finish them off. I'd hate for another one to come up behind us after we've found another threat behind a door.
Good idea Kwin. Monsters here have an unnatural skill on pouncing people from behind.

The door looks and sounds safe enough, but you leave it behind for now.
The room you enter appears divided into five distinct sections, four surrounding a central fifth. Each of the outer four focuses upon a statue of a different figure, two human men, a male elf, and a human woman. On either side of each statue hangs a portrait of the figure depicted in the statue. Each of these little rooms also has a short wooden table with a few unlit candles and other bric-a-brac upon them. The central room seems to be empty other than a small puddle of brackish water on the floor.
There is also an exit on the opposite side of the central room.
Makedonia examines the statues and the pictures, trying to discern their importance in the room.

Knowledge (history) or (arcana) 24:
You'll need to specify which of the statues you are investigating. Here is what they look like:
Northwest Chamber: The statue and paintings here depict a human man in robes. Despite appearing at least sixty if not older, the man is fit and energetic. In one of the paintings, strange monstrous (but mostly indistinct and unspecific) creatures appear to cavort. The statue bears a brass plate with the name, “Caval the Conjurer.”
Southwest Chamber: The statue and paintings here show a rather feeble old human man leaning heavily upon a straight wooden staff. He bears a pained scowl. The statue bears a brass plate with the name, “Shakaran Titanslayer.”
Northeast Chamber: The statue and paintings here depict a round faced human woman in her sixties with short hair and a wide smile. The statue bears a brass plate with the name, “Lissandera the Enchanter.”
Southeast Chamber: The statue and paintings here reveal a slender elven male with a pronounced widow’s peak and particularly pointed ears. He wears long robes with a hex pattern. The statue bears a brass plate with the name, “Pholaen the Worldweaver.”
On the small table in the southeast chamber there is also a small hand-written tome.
Statues of celebrated adventurers perhaps?
Kaduk strides over to the tome and starts to peruse.
Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat
Yep. I was right. As usual. Kwin, take a look at this. And can you detect magic anywhere around here? *points to book*
Kaduk moves in to in to look at Shakaran's statue.

Shakaran's staff has an aura of faint transmutation, while one of the portraits of Lissandera has an aura of strong enchantment.
Anything magical eh Kwin?
Kaduk scrutinizes the staff closely, prodding it just to be sure it isn't a lever of sorts.
Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat
The staff seems to be removeable.

Kwin furrows his brow. Yeah, the staff there and that portrait. The portrait has an enchantment magic about it, the same kind of magic a wizard might use to put someone to sleep, or control their thoughts. We need to be very cautious with it, I believe. He moves to the alcove of Shakaran.
This staff looks like it can be removed. We should consider taking it with us; it may be of use in cleaning these chambers out.
Okay then. *takes staff out* Any idea what it can do?

I could probably figure it out, given some time. Do we want to do that right now, or wait until we are ready to rest for a while?
Good to go. Let's continue on to the other side of the room.
Makedonia moves between the statues while focusing on Caval's and Pholaen's, trying to find if anything on their statues is removable as well.

I would like to spend more time here examining these statues, perhaps after I've had a chance to examine that staff to greater effect. But for now, why don't we try this side passage? He says, indicating the one to the left.

"Look at this", Makedonia's voice rings loudly in the room, "Look at Caval's hands. They seem to be able to move. That leaves only Pholaen's statue as ordinary, and I'd wager it has something special as well".

'Kwin is right . Let's secure the area before playing with these statues'

Interesting, Makedonia. I don't think I ever would have noticed that. We will definitely make time to come back and examine these quite closely, once we think it might be safe to do so. Perhaps the staff plays a part in it. If I can figure out what it does exactly, that may tell us more about the statues.

"Maybe the staff from that one statue will fit in the other ones that the hands move on".

The corridor to the left also ends in a door after a short passage, so you have two doors to choose from if you wish to proceed.
If it ends in a door, then it's better to see where the other passages lead to.
"True, securing the area should be our first priority. Let's check the door in the left corridor".

Updated map.
Now which door was it you want to try?
Female Elf Clerc 2
Let's us try the door which was just before the room we are in .
Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat
The door seems harmless enough and is not even locked. Behind it the corridor stretches on for a short while, before emerging in an octagonal dark and quiet room.
A long, wide hall stretches to your right with small alcoves and niches along its length. Many of these hold small shelves that display various small idols or statuettes of unknown origin. In other places, the shelves are empty. At the southern end of the room, a stone table holds a triptych of massive size.
As you look, the statuettes start moving toward you with alarming speed. Roll for initiative. Map coming up.

The statues behave strangely. They start climbing on top of each other, until they have formed what vaguely looks like a giant statue, consisting of all the small ones. The large statue waves its limbs threateningly at you.
Your turn.
