Erodin laughs at the captain's demanding tone. "Oy, boss, ya don't call th' shots 'round 'ere no more. Anyway, can't ya see what we did?" He grins with the thought of how easy it was.
"you haven't heard. I am disappointed. Oh well. So captain you have seen we gathered plenty of information on you and your men as well as others. The proposition here is simple. You will share what you know in hopes that it keeps those you care about safe."
Drogan changes appearance in front of the captain to appear as the captain.
"You see we need not torture you. My lady friend and I can simply use our magic to learn of the secrets of Balantyne. If you tell us now though it saves us much trouble, and perhaps we will give you a quick release. What do you say captain?"
Vex simply smiled her soft smile. She had to keep her practice up. Being serious and being flirty had to look exactly the same. That way her guises would always look authentic
"You bastard stay away from my family," the captain threatens before the transformation infront of him turns him silent. "By Mitra, a tiefling, a cursed tiefling," he mutters to himself not paying attention to your words following the transformation. He hastily gazes to his other captures seeing if any of them have turned.
I am not ignoring your intimidation roll, but saving it for a few posts.
"So you do have a family. Thank you. See offering free information, doesn't it make you feel good. The more you share the safer they will be. I offer you a peace of mind to take with you. That is more than you would get falling in battle. Now tell us of the keep and the other captains. Would you?"
Drogan is going for the cool calm evil. The one that scares you for how calculating and cruel he is.

Sorry about the delay, I have been away on holiday and forgot to write it here.
The verbal assault takes it toll on the proud captain and as his shoulders sink in defeat he asks: "What is it you would like to know? Of the other captains their is little to say. Mott hopes for a promotion while other gossip that his wife is having an affair with Zack. Barhold is almost living at the watchtower safe for when he visits his brother in the inn."
"Come now, I am sure we can work something out. I know! Swear loyalty to us, and I promise you you wont regret it" she whispers the last part into his ear
Seducing:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16diplomacy? Bluff? Also. She would slowly try and make him submit. Will take time. But if people are willing to let her make the time each day to mess and brainwash him... eventaully they will have a small little following. And it will just add if anyone takes leadership
"Interesting and does Mott know of these rumors? What of Zack where can we find him? I only need to see him a few moments to change to him. I feel we can do much with this information. Vex this is not the time to take on toys my dear. Are you sure there is nothing else you can tell us captain?"
The single diplomacy roll is not going to turn him. Wining him over is going to take so much more.
Vex' suggestion brings only contempt to the captain's face "I'll never serve you." he spits. However knowing his predicament he continues: "As far as I know Mott knows nothing. Zack would be either on watch or in his own house in Aldencross."
"You are gracious and have given me an idea for phase two. You know this wilderness well enough. Be so kind and tell my friend Randu here where he may look for a suitable poison. Vex while I don't mind you having toys this one is too much of a liability and we don't have the time for you to break him, but your seduction skills will be put to use. First we find Zack. After getting his appearance we go to the wife's house. I will enter disguised as him and subdue her. We will then hang her in her home. A letter will need to be forged how she could no longer live with the guilt of her affair, She had fallen out of love with Mott and was going to run away with Zack, but the guilt over took her. Seeing no way out she took herself out. We then watch the fall out of Mott and Zack, perhaps they will take care of one another. As the duel of fight takes place we alert the guard as dueling or murder is a cattail offense. We will take out both with one move. This leaves poisoning the stew, and the last captain. If his brother is the innkeeper then he may and use the tunnel we found. If this is the case the opportunity will present itself. After this is done we move on the dwarves before focusing our attention on the keep. Any questions or concerns? Do any of you have any points I have missed. Please let me know. Even you captain, you may yet be able to save your neck if there is more you haven't told us."
A light breeze blows from behind you almost ushering you on towards Aldencross. Without to much hassle you are admitted through the watchtower. A smiling remark comments on you short and most likely fruitless endeavour, if only they knew.
Infernal luck once again smiles upon you as that very evening you hear soldiers welcoming a most handsome man in the Lord's Dalliance around supper time. It is indeed the sought after captain Zack. Glancing and duplicating his appearance is easy with your magical aids and a pint with one of the locals give you the address of the Mott town house.
So you approach the Mott town house, how do you want to handle this?
Just a quick remark on your choice for the defeated captain please.
Sorry, what are you asking? How we handle the tied up captain? I will leave that to Vex, he should probably die and you can get a pet later when we are not trying sack a fortress :)
Drogan spends the time before that evening preparing the note
Linguistics Forgery:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
"Keep him here drinking my friends."
That night Drogan heads to the Mott house. He sends Zull in first through the chimney or whatever opening to verify she is home alone and check the door. If the door has a latch or lock of some kind Zull will undo it. Once done he assumes the form of Zack. Even picking some wild flowers if any can be found. He knocks once and enters. As he does he offers his lady a nod and a smile.
Disguise:1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31
He shuts the door, and hold up a pendant. "I have a gift for you. I know you can not wear it, but at least wear it now with me. May I put it on?"
She will either turn and allow him her back or Zull will whisper to her to turn and kneel using his suggestion ability. As she does Drogan summons his abyssal furry and embraces the woman from behind and begins to choke the life out of her. With the pendant being nothing more then some cloth disguised as magic that is stuffed in her mouth to muffle the screams. Once all life has passed he uses rope, placing it around her neck he give a quick tug up to break the neck. Then Zull ties the an end up to the rafters of the roof. The woman is lifted and the rope secured and a chair placed toppled over at her feet. The final touch is the note placed on the ground as if it had fallen from her grasp.
The Note:
"I ask for forgiveness. I have dishonored my marriage by laying with another. I have been having an affair with Captain Zack. I can no longer live with the guilt or shame. I choose to end my life now and ask for the forgiveness from Mitra."
Once all is done Drogan sneaks out with the all clear from Zull and leaves the door standing open. Awaiting a passer by to find the scene.
Fair Kaitlyn smiles as she opens the door and sees a familiar face. "I thought you were with your men tonight darling?" she asks as she hurries you inside. Her questions stops when she is presented with the pendant. "Oh you shouldn't have," she says before embrazing you, without any pause for concern she follows your suggestion and turns her back to you holding her hair aside for you to secure the locket around her neck. The look of betrayal is devastating as you force her last breath and with that her life out of her. Quickly the grusome work of creating the suicide is carried out and still under disguise you leave the dead to be found.
Once back from the grim deed you wait, reminiscing over the faith of the first captain and now waiting for the second and third.
I just wanted a few words on what you ended up doing with Varning.
I the morning as you are having your breakfast a constable hurries into the common room, almost out of breath he inquiries with Bellam: "Bellam have you seen Captain Mott? He returned home and found poor Kaitlyn dead, she had hung her self. After reading a letter he stormed of?" Bellam unfortunately knows nothing.
Any other plans for the magnificent day? We will see later how your plan worked out.
Drogan whispers to his companion
"Take to the sky Zull find him we would like to know and see where he is storming off too. I suspect it will be the residence of captain Zack."
To the Knott:
"Come my friends let us go have a walk this fine morning."
We will take to the streets wondering waiting on Zull to find the captain and lead us that way.

Randu moves on, he's been quiet through out this, but when he meets the others again, he'll ask, "Drogen, I know you have high ambitions, and I respect that. Indeed, I admire it. But let me ask you... how willing are you to support the rest of us in our own ambitions? I seek secular power in the new regime, but that will do me little good if only the priesthood has power in the new world we hope to craft."
"This is a conversation best to be had later my friend, but we our bound, we are one. We are a knot. I will see each of you rise as I. Your ambitions will be that of my own and I will help you achieve what you desire."
Just to be clear we are waiting on GM to tell us what happens with the captains, but after Vex and I will have to retire for the day as we dye to come back to life.
I am back from a busy week of changing jobs, but should be able to post more regularly now.
An invisible Zull takes to the sky to find your missing captain. As you departed the inn on this fine morning a ray of sunshine greets you, ready to illuminate the fruits of your labour. Having followed your advice Zull soon returns with the most fortuitous news. "Master a small group has gather outside the house you described."
Wlaking in a brisk pace in that direction you soon here the the sounds of metal against metal and alarmed shouting. Once closer you see two men fighting. It is an intense duel, certainly a mortal one. The larger and uglier man must be captain Mott. His face is torn by grief and anger. The emotions translate into a fierce assault on the fairer of the two captain Eddarly. A fine sport this is and your patience is rewarded by an impressive show of skill. Finely all good things must come to an end and exploiting a gap in his opponent's defence captain Mott slices the throat of Eddarly. Standing over the corpse the winner breaks into tears. Your joy is interrupted by a contingent of guards from the watch tower lead by a tall, older, salt and peper bearded man. "Stay your blade Mott!" he commands. Letting the blade fall to the ground a defeated Mott looks back, "They were sleeping together. She betrayed me, Thomas." he states while accepting the guards arresting him. "Unbearable for any man, but you must answer for your crimes." Lord Havelyn of Balentyne replies escorting the broken man towards the watch tower.
Later that evening you overhere the following conversation in the common room. "Swift justice, pronouncing the sentence today. Yeah but death and incarseraiton in Branderscar before that, no man deserves that when only avening himself. Justice is blind, no man is above the law. Some should be, we lost two captains now, I only hope things will be better when Varning returns."
"Well that worked just as planned. Randu, Erodin. Vex and I will be gone the next couple days. Do or find out what you can. We will come back more powerful, but vulnerable to the sun. Vex will you accompany me to the cemetery."
We will go to the cemetery. Hopefully there will be a mausoleum so we don't have to dig to get coffins. We spend the next 3 days dead.
"My my Drogan. Didnt think you had such a wild streak in you? The graveyard? And here i thought wed go to a mansion!" she chuckles and holds out her hand "Lead the way sir"
I don't think there are any nice mansion type places in town, and we need coffins. We are going to have to get a covered wagon. For now the cemetery will work
thanks for the selection, I'm very active during the week post multiple times a day, weekend normally I only get on once or twice. I go out of town a lot. This should be awesome and I'm excited.
@drogan. Was looking at the best way to get it and probably have to use rogue talents to get the feats. Or a couple levels of monk or fighter would do it...
Male Halfling (HP: 29/29; AC: 16,t14,ff14; F +3, R +5, W+ 8(+10 vs fear) Witch 6
Nope. Randu isn't smart enough for lichdom. Truth to tell, Vampire MIGHT go for Randu, but I think if he had a way to stay young and strong without becoming undead he'd probably try that.
I've been toying with it back and forth. To be truthful, I don't see Lyrysa taking that route, not for a long while being a long lived elf and all. This may change as we play of course, and with Lyrysa's Charisma modifier it could definitely be beneficial.
I am not ignring this thread but I am letting you play this out in character, so unless you need something I will not post before you have a plan and want to execute it.

I'm still here, but unfortunately my character has been put in a situation where he can't currently contribute much since he doesn't speak the language.

I'm a bit bored, but I recognize the logic. Chiefly I wanted folks to know that slow posting on my part didn't mean I was gone or giving up on the game; I just can't contribute much.

I for one, cannot wait until something finally brooks the "evil" part of my Lawful Evil. I love being charming and jovial up until that sudden moment of savagery and bloodshed that truly sets the alignments apart.
ooh I don't think I'll need grapple feats. I'm going Assassin asap and they get Death Attacks which can kill or paralyze(my choice). A paralyzed target would be helpless therefore no CMD to beat to grapple and SUCK YOUR BLOOD!!! hahaha
@GM. So i'm kinda bored and was thinking about the combination of vampire energy drain and assassin death attack.
Say I study my opponent for 3 rounds. I can now use death attack. Then I use my slam attack(which I am proficient in all my natural attacks thanks to being undead) which then procs Energy Drain and Death Attack. So what i'm unsure about is... Does the creature get it's fortitude save to resist the Death Attack before or after Energy Drain takes effect(also can be saved against).
Of course I want them to be energy drained first so they have less of a bonus to their fort saves on Death Attack, but thought I should find out what you reckon. And this is what happens when I have too much free time lol. Worked out that i'm probly going Rogue5/Assassin8/Master Spy7. Master spy stacks with assassin for Death Attack DC :D
I have no idea, it take some time to look into it but I'll get you an answer. Just to be clear slam attack and energy drain is from the vampire template while death attack is from the assassin prestige class?
We're going to try to call the guards in. Lyrysa will do this and make the guards an offer.Hopefully they open the door to the cell and then we rush them :)
It should be when I call them in, the cuffs will have been removed and the someone will be armed with the dagger hidden on their person. When I call them in, it will be in an attempt to seduce them, hoping they come in to release me.
I'll go ahead and throw up my post, since I probably won't be able to post again until late tomorrow.
Yeah she calls them in they open the cell and come in to unlock her. Then One of us will need to go for the door. Only one guard may come in to unlock her and if we jump him we don't want the other shutting the cell and going for help.
Two things. One I am away from my copy of WotW and can't advance untill Monday. Two you do know that the cells are "open", only seperated by bars - the guards can see into the cells as soon as they enter.
Our hands are still in the unlocked shackles so hopefully the guards need to come inside before they would notice that or the weapons behind us. Then it would be too late *evil grin*
Sleight of hands, you are right. I think we are ready, any comments? If not feel free to begin executing your plan. At which time of day do you want to begin.
I need those disable device checks first. Like I wrote in the game thread failure might change What happens. If you succeed make the sleight of hand checks to hvide the weapons.
Would one of you make a bullet point list discriebing the plan?
Sorry for the missed day, the trip back was hectic, along with Easter and my youngest sibling's birthday. I'll throw up a bulleted listing. Please everyone weigh in on it. I want to make sure I'm not missing anything and more than one sets of eyes help with that.
The Plan
Orodreth removes the tools from the veil
Orodreth removes his manacles (Taking 10 if allowed)
Orodreth removes everyone else's manacles, if order matters Tykk, Randu, Drogan, Lyrysa
As each is released, they are given the item from the veil
Daggers, symbol, pouch are hidden behind the persons out of sight
I rolled mine(couldn't beat it with take 10) but intended to take 10 with you guys since we aren't in danger or distracted.
That list is good as far as I can think.
