Will Save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 :-(
Attack of Opportunity: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20, Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 5) + 10 = 19
Harrow takes 19 HP of damage as he stands up. Though seriously injured, the half-orc manages to stay upright. Ragathiel is clearly pleased with him, today.
Giving it all he has, the cavalier/inquisitor punches for all he's worth, and the enemy falls!!! The creature took a total of 114 HP of damage; it had 112 HP! This was very close. :-)
Combat over.
Davina 2

Davina motions for the part to stand near her and away from the fallen creature.
"That was close...gather around"
channel to heal, away from fallen creature

I'm going to pause here to allow y'all to heal up. Several PCs need it! But, here's the description of the next area, too.
Murals on either side of this hallway feature ragged looking humans bowing before a powerfully built humanoid male with horns protruding from his head, arms, and down his spine. Patches of red flesh with pustules cover most of the mural, obscuring a line of spiky script.
Harrow Tatterhood
|
Harrow looks unfazed, despite his many wounds.
"Harrow save day. Again," the boastful half-orc brags. "Always good have Harrow on side."
After they heal their wounds, he walks down the long-forgotten hallway.
"Harrow not like this painting," he says, looking darkly at the patches of grotesque gore covering the mural.
"Anyone read that?" he asks. "Harrow could read, but...forgot glasses."
I can certainly dip into my wand, but I've got quite a few HP still down even after the channel. I'm guessing Berosius will add to the healing, so I'll hold off using it until I see how much I need, but please assume I heal to full before moving to the next encounter.
Berosius
|
"It does pay indeed," says Berosius.
Berosius invokes the power of Milani.
Channel Energy: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 5) = 9
Who needs healing? Go ahead and roll your own results. Berosius will use his wand of cure light wounds.
Quartz Fizzlebang
|
Quartz starts tapping himself with his wand. "Sorry guys! I didn't even see that thing!" He says bashfully.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Harrow Tatterhood
|
Harrow thanks his bestest bud Berosius for healing him, and uses his own wand to top himself off.
"Okay, so anyone reading this stuff, or we keep going?" he asks.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Mareq Bolthune
|
Patches of red flesh with pustules cover most of the mural. Does anyone speak Hallit? Is anyone moving into the hallway to examine it? Please update your positions on the map (after healing up, of course).
I cannot update google docs from my iPad. Somebody put Husarq in front and Mareq behind?
Uthred Wartooth
|
"Many thanks for the healing. Do we all have our weapons and how shall we proceed?"
The half elf asks the others.
Uthred does not speak Hallit
Harrow Tatterhood
|
Harrow takes a moment to detect for evil in the hallway, then proceeds forward.
"Harrow not like this place much," he observes.
perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
Berosius
|
Guys and gals, not all of you update your status line regularly, so it's hard for the healers to know who need healing. Call out if you're still injured.
Berosius will establish a Life Link with both Harrow and Uthred.
Uthred Wartooth
|
unless my math is wrong, Uthred is at 39/49 for health
Uthred walks up next to Harrow at the front...
Berosius
|
Well then, 12 seconds later, Uhtred is fully healed by the Life Link.
Berosius heals himself with a spell.
Cure light wounds and Fey Foundling: 1d8 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 2 = 15
Uthred Wartooth

As the group readies themselves Uthred will ruffle the hair of the wee healer in thanks...

Quartz is too grossed out by the pustular flesh on the walls to concentrate sufficiently on the runes.
Davina is able to make out the words: "Servants shall—" at the beginning of the writing. Unfortunately, most of the rest is covered by the goopy stuff.
You'll have to clear it up to finish reading the runes.
Harrow Tatterhood
|
"Harrow not want to touch it," the half-orc says as the others insect the writing.
"Harrow real good at reading languages, but not want to touch that."
He does, however, detect magic on the writing and goop.
GM Engleaktig
|
The goopy, pustular flesh is neither alchemical nor magical. Difficult to discern exactly what this mess is.
Davina looks at the goopy stuff.
"Sorry I don't deal in goopy."
She steps back and inspects her clothes checking to see none has gotten on her.
LOL! :) OK, now I have to do this. No mechanical effect--just trying to emphasize the creepiness in here and also inject some levity.
As soon as Davina expresses her disdain for the mysterious substance covering the walls, one of of the particularly juicy pustules on the wall erupts. It's not a *pop!* like a zit. Rather, it weeps sebaceous, smelly fluid. The odor is nearly overwhelming. It smells like somebody left really old blue cheese, rotten meat, and then farted.
A sense of decay and waste fills the hallway.
Now Harrow knows what his enemies' pants feel like every time he uses his brown note power.
Harrow Tatterhood
|
Harrow coughs at the grotesque smell. "Harrow not even use power...why someone poop pants?" he asks.
"Husarq, you do that?" the half-orc adds as he moves down the hallway to somewhere that smells better.
Uthred Wartooth
|
Uthred ensures he moves out of the way of the eruption...
"Harrow, you being an orc-kin, none of this should bother your senses or sensibilities, you are a good man. Let us move on then..."
Harrow Tatterhood
|
"Stinky stuff not bother Harrow," the half-orc responds to Uthred. "Only super stinky stuff."

Berosius: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Davina: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Husarq: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Mareck: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (16) + 0 = 16
Quartz: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Uthred: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
The party begins to move on when Uthred's Ulfen senses warn him of danger. There's something not-right about the end of the hallway.
Also, before you leave the pustules behind, I urge you to consider your orders / mission objectives.
| Husarq |
Husarq prepares to move forward again. As he passes the mural and the rank pustules, he scrapes away some of the red gore with Al-Saif.

Sorry about this guys. I tried to hint at the nature of the pustules. However, I don't want an overly disgusting description to be the cause of you missing out on a prestige point. Sadly...
3d6 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (6, 6, 1) + 10 + 1 = 24
Husarq's scraping does some amount of damage to the pustules on one wall. Remember, they're on both of the walls here.
Acid Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 3) = 8
Husarq and Uthred are sprayed with acid. You may attempt a DC15 reflex save for half.
Some of the pustular flesh remains and still obscures the runes.
| Husarq |
Husarq grunts as the acid sprays near him. "Watch out, Uthred," he says before slashing at the other side's pustules.
Slashing dmg: 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (2, 2) + 14 = 18
Fire dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Bleed: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Uthred tries to jump out of the way of the majority of the acid spray...
REF: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

I convinced you to go back to the pustules and all it got you was acid damage...

Please take another look at your mission objectives. The scenario author himself weighed in on this in the discussion thread. :-)
Does Uthred also have evasion?
