@Leon Whoops! I thought I checked before I posted, but everyone makes mistakes. And you should smell like freshly cut grass. Amy will find that pleasant, mainly because that and pine are two of my favorite scents. And right when it starts to rain. That could be one! Haha.
Yeah no worries, easy enough to get confused, especially with new characters :) I think the grass thing was on my mind because I re-watched Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince recently and it was one of Hermione's favourite smells too, hehe. So yeah, wet grass after rain, freshly cut grass, things that suggest fields and wide open vistas perhaps?
Since they're going to the same place I would assume Morris is riding with Leon if he doesn't have his own transport :) Leon is intending to talk to his contacts about the murders, but he can do that over the phone I guess? I'm kind of counting on you to tell me when I need to roll COmmunist, since I'm not that familiar with the rules.

'Jack', a.k.a. Jusuf Agyar |

Does he have to decide immediately? As implied by my last post, 'Jack' is fairly certain 'Lord Jeremiah' is, effectively, a junkie for Changeling Blood & he is experienced enough to know you don't trust a junkie. On the other hand...
a Vampire contact might be useful for the Motley, assuming we ever become a Motley.

Sure I said he hitched there. I assumed there was one was closeby but whatever, I'd rather just cut to it. You can say he did whatever.

'Jack', a.k.a. Jusuf Agyar |

Thinking about it more, as much as I would prefer the xp & 'Jack' distrusts 'Lord Jeremiah', I think I am going to go with the Contact idea. 'Power' from a Vampire just doesn't sound like a good idea to him/me.

GM Communist |

@ Amy Ten altogether will serve as a good start, though you can add to it later. Each Roll you make will take about two hours, and you're at 11am now, so feel free to see as you go.
EDIT: And apologies for that slow weekend. Work hours are all over at the moment, I'll try and let you know when slow posting is ahead.

GM Communist |

Don't worry guys, haven't forgotten about you! At the moment we're moving house, which involves a) lots of work and b) Very little wifi. Sorry for all this slow posting. I'll be moved in come Saturday, so then I'll be able to get back to daily or something like that.
I'll sit down and write posts galore tomorrow, but just letting you know now.

'Jack', a.k.a. Jusuf Agyar |

Guys, I apologize but I feel I should probably take a break from PbP for a bit. I just wound up leaving a Campaign I had a great deal of time & enjoyment invested in because what I felt was a simple miscommunication snowballed rapidly & to be painfully honest, I can't tell if I was over-reacting or took to long to make the break.
I'm going to take about a week off, GM Communist, please go ahead & 'bot' me if needful.

'Jack', a.k.a. Jusuf Agyar |

As it happens...
After the fact, I realized a further contributing factor was that last week was finals week for my accelerated college class. I have three five-week classes, of which one just finished, so I believe that in the interests of not having another episode like this past week, I will likely be taking another hiatus when my next final comes up in about a month.
Yes, I'm back.

According to the book there are four ways of harvesting Glamour; Emotions, Dreams, Pledges & Hedge Bounty.
Court Lost have an advantage in harvesting emotion, if the emotion they are harvesting is the one associated with their Court. The exact mechanics involved are going to depend on which Emotion you try to harvest from & how you try to go about it. The other big advantage to harvesting Emotion for Glamour is that it requires significantly less set-up than the others do, particularly Pledges but Dream harvesting isn't something you just 'do when your tank is low' either.
As I implied, Dream Harvesting requires a certain amount of prep work as you can't just 'slip in' to a mortal's dream & start chowing down, generally you need either a pledge with the Mortal in question or a Contract that let's you in.
Which segue's into Pledges. In the long term, Pledges are probably the most effective & reliable means of gathering Glamour...
But again, they take a lot of prep; you have to find Mortals, you have to convince them to enter into a pledge with you & you have to keep your side of the pledge, which may or may not be worth your time...
Finally, we have Hedge Bounty.
What, you never wondered where all the Glamour that got sucked out of you if you spent too long in the Hedge went? Basically, it goes into the Hedge, but sometimes a particular area within the Hedge gets supersaturated with Glamour & the excess has to go somewhere. Oftentimes where it goes is 'fruits' of various varieties, some of which aren't even fruit if you get what I'm saying...

Terrence Parker |

Okay, so I'm wanting to harvest someone's sorrow, then? Still not sure how to go about doing that. Eavesdropping on sad people or something? I'm just not sure how the whole thing works from a mechanical standpoint.

'Jack', a.k.a. Jusuf Agyar |

Mechanically...
Well, the example the book gives for that not-quite-exact situation would be Composure + Empathy. For every success you roll, you get one Glamour, plus one extra since it is the emotion associated with your court.

Communist |

Yup, Irnk's hit the nail on the head before I've even seen it.
Mechanically you suggest are basically making a skill roll, with each success getting glamour, with one extra if it's a court emotion. You suggest which attribute and skill you'd like to pair together, and I'll tell you if that'll work.
Composure and Empathy would be a good one for sadness. Manipulation and subterfuge could work for a variety of emotions as you draw them out of your victim.
Also if you have points in harvest for the relevant type (Harvest has to be typed to a certain type of glamour harvesting) you get a bonus die on the roll for each point. IE harvest emotions 1 gives you one bonus die to harvest emotions.

Jack Marshall |

For added specificity, from what I remember of the book, when you harvest glamour from emotions, it means that you are actively manipulating the person into feeling the emotion you are trying to harvest. The book gives an example of a Summer Courtier irritating someone into a near rage to harvest glamour from their anger.

GM Communist |

I think I'll call an end to 'today' tomorrow, and move the doom track, or whatever you'd like to call it forward one. Harvest rolls can be taken retroactively, but nothing more of importance will appear tonight. Jusuf I anticipate will be harvesting dreams; for tonight at least this is going to be hassle free.
So at the end of the first day, questions for all.
I'll be handing out some XP, how do you feel about RPing bonus xp for some? I can hand it out equally, or reward more with whatever bias I hold (I take cash!)
Secondly, how greatly do you want to be focused in a group? Leaving it as it is I'm not sure you'll ever get there :P There are some methods that could do some pushing, or you could work on it yourselves. Having the party split as such makes for confused thinkings and timings but I can work with it (and maybe get good at it, heaven forbid) if that's what you like. Thoughts on it?
Other than that, you've all done pretty well to avoid any combat in the first day. It's nice seeing everyone showing off their tricks.
What I'll be posting tomorrow:
Day 2: Cracks
News of the day
Events of the day
PC and NPC doom tracker
XP gains
I'll put up a google doc everyone can edit as an in character representation of the database Terrence and Amy have set up; feel free to put anything up there your character would like others to know. It could be a good way of sharing knowledge you otherwise wouldn't mention.

'Jack', a.k.a. Jusuf Agyar |

One thing that can definitely pull us together is a Motley Oath. Of course, even the least of those is pretty much only taken by Lost who already trust & work with/live with/trust each other. D'oh! I put trust in there twice... Actually, that might be appropriate, trust is a pretty rare thing for Lost, one of the reasons why they place so much importance on Oaths.
I suspect if we manage to survive the 'death clock', we will likely have made it to that point, but that is merely my opinion.

Leon Armitage |

For XP I vote for whatever will get me more! Muahahahaha *ahem* You're the GM, go with whatever you feel appropriate (in other words the latter)
As to travelling in groups or not, unless Leon gets a bite from his contacts and allies the only thing I can think for him to do is pay a call to some of the Spring higher ups and see if any of them know anything. If something crops up that requires his assistance then he's more than happy to help; he's a sociable fella unlike everyone else it seems :p Translation: I'm fine either way. Having more people to play off is good though.
I like the idea of the google docs thing. I will make an effort to remember to check it regular like.

Amy Lee Tanner |

As far as XP goes, which ever is easier.
With the split party thing, its kind of frustrating after a while for me. So Id like if we could at least be a group every now and then. There are times when it is necessary to split up, then there are times where its not. Since Terrence and I have finished what we can do, I feel left out because everyone else got to do a lot of RP. I know that I wont always get to post as much as I want, but that doesn't take away from my wants. I think that if we stayed more as a group, it would give Terrence and me more of a chance to RP period.

'Jack', a.k.a. Jusuf Agyar |

Well, if you are looking to RP, GM Communist did say that night would be coming on, so there is a strong possibility of 'Jack' attempting to dream-call her.
Once I get a response from 'Louis Cypher', that will likely be it for my actions for the day.

Terrence Parker |

For awarding XP, I'm in favor of an equal split, but it's really whatever's easiest for you.
Concerning the split party, I have to echo Amy's thoughts. Basically nothing's happened with our characters for something like a month real-time, and I feel quite out of the loop. While individual stuff's great and necessary on occasion, putting everyone together gives us more opportunities to interact.

Morris Ashad |

Morris will head home, have a nice brew and watch tv. Then he'll head out to the Margravate's main hedge gate. At that point I'll do some Wits+Composure+1 rolls to represent his Hedge Bounty harvesting, unless you got something else in mind. He'll probably top off, so to speak, it's just a matter of how long it takes.
As for the split party stuff, I guess sometimes it makes sense in character is all. Like here we got a bunch of different directions we could have gone in and people with different affiliations and skillsets so some of these directions could have more appeal than others.
That being said, I've sort of been trying at least to keep Morris from going off on his own and that's the most I can do now until the direction everyone wants to head in becomes clearer. A group would make things more efficient I feel, but I figure we should take it slow. Maybe start by reeling in the folks that went off on their own. I think the good thing about this individual stuff was everyone got to do what they were best at. Sometimes group stuff gets in the way of that. But I'm fine with everyone being together if it keeps stuff from getting muddled.

GM Communist |

Feel free to edit this as you see fit; I'll keep an eye on it but do minimal meddling with it.
I apologize to those of you who haven't had as much of an interactive day, Terrence and Amy especially. Setting the server up was time consuming, but unfortunately I couldn't time skip without any idea of what everyone else was going to do. I'll be working to draw everyone together on this day, and if nothing else it will certainly be more interesting for you.
DAy post going up shortly

Communist |

Right. Headed towards more group, less solo today. I figure the start at least will split it into two groups. Also today, maybe even combat! Can Morris's knuckledusters succeed against overwhelming odds? Will Amy ever know true love? Will Jusuf learn the true meaning of Christmas?
Probably none of these things and more today.
Morris has nothing yet. I figure Jack may invite him along to the meeting, otherwise feel free to mug homeless people.
Also Jef once you're no longer busy put a shout up here and I'll give you your info.

GM Communist |

XP: Spending now is preferable, but it can wait. You can't however, save it until you need a skill to suddenly develop that ability.
Willpower: A full night's rest restores a point of willpower, so yes!
Health: I think only Jusuf was hurt. Lethal heals at a point every 2 days, iirc. Not aware of any base changeling abilities that change that. If Jusu f is worried about his health, medical attention (and more specifically a blood pack, blood transfusion) would restore those points much faster.
vis a vis dream contact (And other cool things such as that...)
I'm in the camp that you should only roll dice when there's a chance of failure, and that failure would actually mean something. If that makes sense. Rolls where drama demands, otherwise I assume some level of competence.

Morris Ashad |

Morris has nothing yet. I figure Jack may invite him along to the meeting, otherwise feel free to mug homeless people.
I'll leave that to Jack's player. Otherwise, I dunno, maybe someone has need of him. In any case, I'll come up with something. I'll do a post soonish.

'Jack', a.k.a. Jusuf Agyar |

Ok guys, Real Life (TM) just hit me hard. I have a family emergency which I seem to be the only effective adult for, so I suspect it is going to be several days to a week before I am in a position to post again. GM Communist, please 'bot' me as needed until I post I'm back.

Leon Armitage |

Communist, would you be able to put a link to the notable personas sheet and the Google doc for the boards in the campaign tab/description please. Makes them easier to find :)
