Yelenn |

Continuing to pet the dog for a bit, Yelenn smiles. "If you don't already have a name we'll have to figure out what to call you won't we?"
Looking at her companions she shrugs. "I guess we'll take him with us." with a slight effort of will, the magus directs the floating orbs of light to drift across the distance, first illuminating the rest of the area beyond the whole to give a better scope of the room, before encircling the hole as one of them once again descends.

Illuminating the area beyond where the dog was first spotted reveals a desk and wall with various papers spread through out, though aside from the desk the area is conspicuously absent of anything else. Two hallways branch off to the left and the right, both ending in doors.
Sending another Witchlight down into the darkness after its brother simply reveals more of the darkness beneath their feet (How far are you sending them down?).

Mylyna |

Running her hand through the dog's fur, she scratches him affectionately. Noting Mylyna's interest, the magus continues petting him, inviting the lamae to extend her hand for him to greet.
Mylyna approached very slowly, her body swaying as she carefully slithered towards the dog. She held her hand out for the dog to sniff at and hoped she wouldn't get the same reaction she had in the past. Unfortunately as she got closer the dog's hackles began to rise, maybe because she smelled wrong, or maybe because she looked wrong, and Mylyna's eyes grew hurt as she backed away. "Maybe when he's used to me..."
Mylyna moved back and then around the hole so it was between her and the dog and peered down into it. It was quite a ways down but she could see the bottom of it and looked back to her friends, "It's a ways down, I can just see the bottom. I don't think you want to try and jump down."

Mylyna approached very slowly, her body swaying as she carefully slithered towards the dog. She held her hand out for the dog to sniff at and hoped she wouldn't get the same reaction she had in the past. Unfortunately as she got closer the dog's hackles began to rise, or at least they seemed to at first. Maybe it was the fact that Yelenn was feeding him but the dog actually let Mylyna get close without getting all growley like dogs always did. She smiled nervously as she held her hand out for the dog to sniff.

Yelenn |

Yelenn flashes Mylyna a smile, as she nods in agreement with Yasmin. "I have rope." she says getting the rope out of her pack.

Yelenn |

"I need to find a secure place to tie it off. Something that can support our weight." Yelenn replies.

Yelenn |

"I'll go down first, then Yasmin. We'll see if there's enough of a surface for you to climb down Mylyna." Yelenn says, tying off the rope and beginning to climb down.
Climb: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

As Yelenn descends, the dog turns it head to watch her disappear before shoving its face back into Mylyna’s palm. Managing to brace her feet against the rough stone to ease her progress the Magus is able to make it to the end of the basement’s foundation with little effort, the rope continuing down into the darkness.
It will be a DC 15 to climb lower, there’s 40 more feet till the bottom.

Yelenn |

"A little awkward, but it so far so..." Yelenn's words cut off with a scream as she slips.
Climb: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 Oh dear

Falling Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 6, 6) = 18
wow, still conscious though!
There is a delayed reaction from Yelenn, or rather her consciousness, as it tries to catch up with her body plummeting to the ground below. Staring back up through the whole her mind tries to make sense of the situation as her body is completely overcome with a sudden searing numbness, most likely the most extreme amount of physical pain she’s ever felt.
At her scream the dog rushes over to look down the hole after the Magus.

At 0 hp. Staggered
It takes a while before she can even breathe enough to moan in agony as her entire body is wracked with pain.

Mylyna continued to pet the dog as Yelen started to climb down the hole. She was enjoying it and just got her other hand involved when she felt the dog pull away as Yelen screamed. She rushed over to look down the hole as she cried out in fear, "Yelen!" Mylyna looked at the dog and said, [b]"Hold still, I'm taking you down there."[b/] She attempted to pick him up in her arms and then moved to lower her tail down into the hole. She worked to find purchase, even if only enough to let her lower herself down far enough to drop safely and avoid landing on her friend.

Can't cling to the ceiling, well I suppose technically I could with a climb speed but it makes no sense. That being said remember that I am a high end large creature in length with 35 foot of tail. I will anchor myself on the top portion and lower my torso down as far as I can before I lose hold, let the dog down, and then drop myself the rest of the way.

Your Demented Storyteller |

1d20 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19
Mylyna lowers herself further into the hole and readies to drop both herself to come to Yelenn's aid as well as the dog to safety. Once as low as she can go the dog, unperturbed, slides down the Lamae's coils backwards before flopping to the ground below. Standing back up none the worse for wear it walks over to where the Magus writhes, laying its head on her stomach.
Mylyna I guess you can just drop and pool like a pile rope.

Mylyna |

With the dog safely down and needing to get down herself to help her friend Mylyna was about to let go and coil when Yasmin called out to her. That more dogs were coming wasn't good and she said, "Yes, quickly, use my coils and get down here quickly this is a very...uncomfortable position and I can't hold it for long."

Your Demented Storyteller |

DM, if I can take 10 to climb, I'll do so.
Yasmin stows her bow and quickly does her best to reach the bottom. She's a bit hesitant about how best to approach that but finally settles for just wrapping her arms around Mylyna and sliding down like a fireman's pole.
Since you have a whole lot of Lamae to brace against sure :3

Yelenn |

Fighting through the pain, Yelenn slowly tries to sit up. "Gods this hurts soooo much."
0 hp, staggered condition

Mylyna |

Looking worried Mylyna shook her head and said, "No, all I have are what's left of my clothes and this pouch with stuff for spells in it." She was still hanging there, upside down, not releasing ehr grip on teh edge above until she was sure they weren't going back.

Moving very slowly with a groan of agony, Yelenn reaches into her pack, "Hang on.....I think.....I have....potions."
Taking a potion from her pack she shakily brings it to her lips and drinks. A touch of health returning to her, she draws another and drinks that as well, her body recovering a bit more.

9/18 no more potions.

"I agree." Yelenn says standing up and wincing as she stretches. "So should we go on, or head back up and call it a night?"
Looking up at Mylyna as she dangles above them, the magus smiles, both in appreciation for the concern and relief on her face and the.....notable effect hanging upside down had on her most prominent assets.

Yasmin Jahandar |

"I don't know. How bad do you feel? Mylyna just had a lengthy nap, but that's not to say we can't go back up and try to get a night's sleep and see what the morning holds. That might help you feel at least a bit better. Really... we need to figure out some way to reliably deal with injures," says Yasmin. She worries her lower lip slightly, tugging at it between two fingers. "I don't know how to do that kind of magic, though."

Yelenn |

"Still aches a bit but nothing I can't handle, likely some bruising." Yelenn says twisting to crack her back. "Let's explore some and see what there is to discover. If it get's too dangerous we'll back off."

Yelenn |

"Agreed!" Yelenn says with a sigh. "C'mon down Mylyna, we'll check things out down here and see what we have to deal with. I promise I'll try not to get myself killed." she says trying to make light of what had very nearly been a fatal fall.
