Daniel Arrisen |

Daniel joins Orsin, mostly following along with Andrea and Lucrezia, he did not know the bard well and so offered quiet congratulations but keeps mostly to the background as much as he can.

Jacque Mis, NPC, Human |

SoH: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22
The aristocrat nudges in closer and presses his quick drawn dagger into the flat-footed Orsin's kidney while the merrymakers press to get autographs and a quick chat in,
dagger: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31;damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
plus 5 bleed damage. You take the an additional 5 bleed each round unless DC 15 heal check is made or cure remedy.
sneak attack: 5d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 4, 5, 2) = 21
Make a fortitude save DC 16 for paralysis. Then secondary effect, con damage: 1d2 ⇒ 2
"You have many important enemies."
Andrea, Daniel, Lucrezia can make perception checks to see if they see anything unusual happening around Orsin. I think Gerard is working his way to the roof.

Orsin you feel the sudden piercing in your backside and hear your assailant's comment. Flav'r T'Dj'more continues to ask you questions about your future plans, he commends you for the performance. Other aristocrats smile and offer you compliments for the performance, the scene is surreal, the pain doesn't make sense with all the well wishers around you.

Lucrezia Villanova |

perception 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (19) + 18 = 37
Lucrezia will of course alert her companions to what she sees if she makes the check.

Orsino 'Orsin' Bessatte |

Orsin staggers for a moment. Feeling unwell and gasping suddenly, he reaches to where he felt the explosion of pain. "Please...please, exc-cuse me, I'm suddenly not feeling..." Knowing that his friends are nearby, Orsin falls to the ground, dramatically, calling attention to the attempted assassination.

baldwin the merciful |

Daniel and Lucrezia you see the gentleman from the salon speaking to Orsin, then Orsin flinches as the man steps back and begins to move back into the crowd 15 feet. It's really crowded around him and his fans have moved you to the background 15 feet away from him. Your eyes see Orsin swoon and there is flow of crimson from him. The room is packed solid with guests there is minimal room to maneuver with out hitting innocent bystanders.
Movement will be 2 hexes per 5 ft.
I screwed up his attack his to hit was 2 higher.
Gerard I will say with your previous perception checks that you are see Orsin falling to the ground but you are upstairs on the second floor 20 feet high and across the way 80 feet.
Andrea: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (14) + 0 = 14
Orsin: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Lucrezia: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Daniel: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Daniel: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
assassin: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Gerard: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Daniel since Gerard is no-where to be seen by you and it's crowded, I rolled your initiative twice.

Lucrezia Villanova |

If I was only going to get one stab in on a target, you can damn well bet that I would use a poisoned blade.
Lucrezia moves up to Orsin and casts Delay Poison upon him as she tries to keep an eye on the assassin.

baldwin the merciful |

The commotion of seeing Orsin fall to the floor with a crimson pool flowing overwhelms and panics the crowd. Lucrezia rushing to aid Orsin flusters some of the onlookers who are clearly confused with the circumstance.
A voice from the crowd yells..."Shadowbeast." and pandemonium strikes those that remain.

Andrea1 |

Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!
Seeing that the crowd is about to panic, Andrea make sher choice. Lucrezia is tending to Orsin, the killer has vanished, and perhaps a compatriot has acted to send people rioting. Andrea's hand darts into her magical packand she pulls out a scroll. Unfolding it, she begins to chant.
Casting Calm Emotions
Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Area creatures in a 20-ft.-radius spread
Duration concentration, up to 1 round/level (D)
Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes
This spell calms agitated creatures. You have no control over the affected creatures, but calm emotions can stop raging creatures from fighting or joyous ones from reveling. Creatures so affected cannot take violent actions (although they can defend themselves) or do anything destructive. Any aggressive action against or damage dealt to a calmed creature immediately breaks the spell on all calmed creatures.
Spell centered on F-7
Please! Please! Stay calm! There is no shadowbeast here! They will not enter this building, they never have entered lighted buildings like this one!

Andrea1 |

Andrea breathes out. Yes,no Shadowbeasts will be assulting us, but we must tend to Orsin, he has been inflicted by a grievous wound!
Andrea moves over to Orsin and gives him a potion of CLW CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
I could try to get the guards to lock the place down, but at worst they would get themselves killed. Anyone capable of doign this would make hash of any guardsman.
Gerard! Please tell the Missepes what has happened! Have them protected along with any other nobles!

baldwin the merciful |

There are no additional attacks and the crowd files out of the theater.
The critic remained behind, weeping, "W...w...w...why'd it h..hhappen, I was jjjust ttttalking to him and he fell in a pppool of blood." He is clearly disturbed by the events and their proximity to his own body. In fact his shoes and trousers are splattered with crimson.

Andrea1 |

A shameless attack by a knave who scampered away while trying to spread fear amongst the crowd.
Andrea helps Orsin sit up.
They harmed Orsin, but they failed miserably in endangering the crowd. This shows Wiscrani can stand firm against threats like those vile Red Knives, and they will meet the same fate!

Orsino 'Orsin' Bessatte |

"I- I think I'll be alright, thank you," he says, regarding Lucrezia and Andrea. "But we can't let him get away. Little bugger certainly knows how to use a blade..."
Thanks to the CLW, the bleed damage has stopped and with Lucrezia's delay poison, I won't have to save again for a little while.
I COULD use my scroll of locate object to seek out a poisoned dagger, but that might give us multiple pings, go figure.

Lucrezia Villanova |

"I agree we should just stay here. As an actual attempt to kill Orsin, it wasn't done well. This may have just been a trap to lure us into a chase that will keep us outdoors after dark and fair game for shadowbeasts or vampires. We should take Orsin to his dressing room and see to his well being in private."

Andrea1 |

Andrea writes up a small shopping list and has one of the Children buy two potions for Fiosa.
Either that was one of theRed Knives or the Drovanages hired an assassian for that little job. No more taking chance, and after this, we return the favor to them.
Items bought: Potion of Hide from Undead,Invisibility. 350 GP

Gerard Nisroc |

Are we putting in orders? Are we allowed to use Poison?

Andrea1 |

Andrea accepts the potions gracefully and slips them into Fiosa's hands.
Use these if you need to. Rememebr you are on that list.
Andrea then prays for her spells before they head out.

Daniel Arrisen |

Daniel says his prayers upon waking.
If possible I would like to see Talbard today. I have a couple of things I would like to pick up which will increase my effectiveness as one of your melee combatants.

Andrea1 |

Well, it is not unexpected, since we just effectivly broke one of their major operations. Andrea mused as she checked Orsin's bandages and packed away yet another bloodstained dublet.A sure sign we have struck close to htem.
Andrea leans back in her chair.I have this feeling that I have been handed yet another dissapointment. The Lantern Bearers have been co-opted. I wanted something for the common people of Westcrown, where they can look after each other, help each other home before dark or when they need to go out when they can't depend on the law. Now? it is a company. A few handshakes and strokes of a pen and the nobles are now running things yet again. A shiney nameplate over the safehouse, regulations, lists and records.
Andrea looks down at Orsin's ruined doublet and sighs. Oh. Don't mind me, I guess I am just having one of those times again.
Andrea puts things away and settles on a divan. Get your rest, I'll look out for you tronight.

Orsino 'Orsin' Bessatte |

Orsin sighs at Andrea's disclosure, "I'm sorry to hear that. I had such high hopes for the Lantern Bearers. I suppose we should just labor now to put an end to the shadowbeasts, however much that makes our work thus far on the Lantern Bearers obsolete. You'll still receive my portion of the tonight's proceeds, for what it's worth."
As Andrea settles in to keep watch, "I- thank you." He smiles warmly and lies himself back down. He keeps smiling as he falls asleep.
