Andrea kicks him in the groin. Oh my little piggy, that isn't how it works. I can bring her back to me, but noone cares about you. You one of the Drovange's dogs? They have dozens where you came from and won't even remember your name.

Lucrezia Villanova |

Seeing only one opponent still up, Lucrezia jumps and invokes her ring to slowly fall to the ground. Then she cautiously moves up while holding her bow.
"We keeping this one for any questinoing?"

Daniel Arrisen |

Daniel uses a swift action next round for IMPROVED DISARM.
BOTH ITERATIVES.

rapier: 1d20 + 16 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 16 - 4 = 29;damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
The confirm hits
Note that I also did not take the second rapier attack in Rounds 3, 4, or 5 but I'm not going to recon or take that part of the action now. Just moving it along.

Daniel Arrisen |

Facing another deadly assault, Daniel continues to defend himself.

The red cap sneers at the deceased assassin. Then steps back 5ft feet from the paladin and cleric. Then he hacks up something form his lungs and spits it on the Maglin's face.
"Mother sent me...she wants a meeting." He speaks to Orsin and Gerard and sort of positions himself so he doesn't look directly at either of the holy rollers. "She sent Dogtongue to fetch you."

Gerard Nisroc |

Thank you for your assistance. I wished to speak with her, myself.
Gerard turns to Daniel and Andrea. You two OK playing second fiddle? We're going someplace where your types are not... favored. Cool? On your word.
We'll need to check on Fiosa.

Dogtongue get ahold of his ill feeling around the holy folks and continues, "My mistress, the Mother of Flies, would like a parlay. We share a common enemy," indicating the dead thieves by way of explanation, and goes on to say, " the Mother of Flies would like very much to entertain them at her abode in Hagwood and discuss certain
matters of family, nostalgia, and bloody vengeance."
"Despite my obvious distaste for two of you, you will be safe," as he invokes the old adage “the enemy of my enemy”.
He looks at the gear, "If you agree I'll even be willing to guide into Hagwood to meet with my Mistress." He motions, "Will you need time to do something with these trinkets before going?"

When you enter you find a small smoke shop lit by the dim glow of a lamp hanging from the ceiling. The shop’s walls are decorated with pipes, smoking tobacco, and more exotic wares, while a counter runs across the back and a door beyond leads to a small bedroom. Poor Goren One-Ear has
been pinned, spread-eagle, to the back wall of the shop by a number of long, wicked-looking daggers. Furthermore, the lower half of his face is a bloody mess where his jaw has been brutally torn away—the missing jaw sits on the counter, a smoking pipe perched decoratively on the lip and tongue.
Andrea you have no idea what this scene represents.
I'll wait for a few other rolls before commenting further on the scene and what you find.

Daniel Arrisen |

Daniel grabs the assasins body, Let's get this lot out of public view, no need to upset the locals further, and it will make it easier for the dottari should anybody come to collect the dead. I shall have to report this to the guards on the way out if they do not. You have the lead Gerard.
He pulls his healing wand inside, I will heal anybody that needs it.

Daniel Arrisen |

Daniel hands over the mundane Masterwork Rapier, leather and bow while Andrea hands over the coin.

Save your potions, Gerard. Does anyone else require healing? This will be empty soon. Let us gather what evidence of the Assasins treachery from here and be away to prepare. Your 'Mother' shall receive us peacefully, my staunch friend, but we will need to gird ourselves for the wilderness. Horses and such. We will need a day.

Andrea1 |

OMG! Daniel is stuck in a loop!
I am very bad at riding and I have no idea if horses can travel well in the Hagwood. Dogtongue, is the Hagwood thick?
Maybe Gerard could use it better if he gets into front up combat where he can't backstab?

Jar, job offer stands if you ever reconsider. Westcrown needs you, friend.
Rapier could definitely help, if no one has an immediate use. ROP +2 swap for ROP +1 and Barkskin +3, are his first order of business, though.

baldwin the merciful |

Gerard you recognize the gruesome scene as and the removal of an individual’s lower jaw is a relatively common method used by organizations like the Council of Thieves to prevent them from being able to provide information, even from beyond the grave, as it prevents a
speak with dead spell from functioning. On closer inspection you see the quieting needs under the skin which prevents raising the dead.
Andrea you found a loose floor board behind the counter revealing 8 bricks of pesh with a street value of 200GP per brick along with 258 gold pieces.

Edit: Glad to see this one posted. My first response got eaten by the paizo monster.

Lucrezia Villanova |

Lucrezia looks over the little red-hatted fellow.
"So what exactly are you and what's up with dipping you hat in blood?"

Gerard Nisroc |

This is some sick business, dammit. See the missing lower jaw? Prevents them from being helpful if "raised". Also a pretty gruesome warning to others whomight consider talking.
But, look here... closely, under the skin and here. The use of "quieting needles" prevents or makes it less likely the soul or spirit will return, knowing the excruciating pain in store. You don't see this kind of work often.

Gerard Nisroc |

Physically, of course. But the trauma is imprinted at the time of passage. There are those much more knowledgeable than I, Andrea. If he mentioned Fiosa, we should get to her, with Godspeed.
He was a professional if nothing else. He would only have shown his hand, if he thought we could not stop it. Let's go... Now.

Daniel Arrisen |

We must make haste to Fiosa now. I'll not allow the drugs to go to tje streets. I will buy them with my share if necessary but will have no part in feeding addictions for financial gain. We can discuss it later however, we must check on your halfling friend.
