Of course, my bluff doesn't work if he's not actually a caster, but I think he is.

Also, I like how it worked out that Anthony figured the gnome out simultaneously while Davi/Herral/Tarkus find the dagger. Very CSI.

Yeah, I thought that couldn't have been written better. This game just keeps getting better.

I was about to bring this up in character, but I decided it might be better for you to address it rather than make Blunde look like an idiot: Isn't the Sheriff's room a little too tight for twelve people?


I'm gonna say it's a big suite. Like a presidential in a fancy hotel. The Sheriff actually lives here more than he does in his actual home in Olfden.

But yeah, in the actual map, it is way too small, haha.

The actual map is smaller than the one I have on the battlemap google doc. The map enclosed in the module is actually too small to hold all the people necessary for the bar fight scene, lol, so I subbed in the flipmat. So that's an oversight on the author's part imo, or maybe some weird miscommunication between the author and the map artist???

Anywho I couldn't think of any other private places for y'all to talk. The stables?? The kitchen??

Ugh. Apologies for that painfully out-of-pace post. I was super busy at work right when everyone was posting and didn't read as thoroughly as I should have. Too over-eager to participate, shoulda just cooled my heels as everyone else had things well under wraps.

On decision making: Since waiting for consensus on things would take ages, as soon as two people agree on a course of action (such as whether to walk or hustle), that is the assumed course.

Obviously if a decision carries a lot of weight, I'll give you more time to deliberate. (Such as a life or death decision, or a decision on what adventure to go on next ;) )

A friendly warning..: Also it's worth mentioning that as this is a sandbox campaign, I have some pretty elaborate random encounter tables set up, and all kinds of things (dungeons, etc) hidden out on the hexcrawl map. This means it is totally possible for you to stumble upon enemies or even whole dungeons that you are not of appropriate level for.

In general I have stuff set up so that you are more likely to stumble upon stuff that you can actually fight and win than you are to stumble upon...say...random dragons. But I figured y'all would need the heads up, since that is not typically how APs/modules operate. :)

(I literally have a 70 page campaign doc set up for this campaign for the 'sandbox' aspect of this. D: And the andoran campaign setting doc hasn't even come out yet! Oy!)

Hahaha, yeah, we'll have to be cagey. I doubt the monsters will do us the courtesy of having their names highlighted in challenge-indicating colors above their heads.

Soroza's got her backpack. At the moment she's still at a light load, but I imagine we're going to start picking things up soon so that likely won't last for long.

I like the concept of stumbling upon things of all ranges. Makes it a lot more "realistic" than a world divided into CL zones. :)

You can use Knowledge rolls to determine the rough CR of whatever you are encountering. Or Wisdom rolls, but the DC for wisdom will be a little rougher to match. :P

I don't think anyone has K:Nature. Something to think about when you ding ;)

@Anthony: Make sure you update the excel doc for the stuff you're moving around :)

Yeah, sorry. I was waiting on someone for corroboration. Was starting to worry about the stillness, but didn't wanna get pushy 'cause I know people can get busy.

But yeah, since Herral's at limited posting availability, I have next best Survival.

I agree with Anthony on Hustle speed, so I'll pop over to Gameplay and make the roll.


This is mostly directed at Herral and Adrac but if you'd like to declare your action/roll for combat ahead of time just do so here under spoilers.

However, if you are able to post in initiative order in a timely fashion, I'd prefer that, as it gives you the ability to react to new developments as combat progresses.

@Davi: this actually doesn't make a difference because you only get one standard action during a surprise round, but any time you make a move equivalent action and have +1 or more BAB, you can draw a weapon as a free action. But again, only one standard action during surprise rounds so it doesn't make a difference.

I'm pretty sure we're having an epic dance-off with the black banners. Whoever impresses the druid the most with their choreography wins the items!


It's a good thing Anthony invested a rank into Perform (Dance) then!

Slight edit to my last gameplay post for tense. I have an obnoxious habit to switch willy-nilly between present and past tense without noticing it if I'm not paying attention. Drives me nuts when I go back and read stuff where I didn't catch myself doing it.

The dice gods have been kind to me with my survival checks, but Tarkus will never try to pass himself as a wilderness scout, at least not yet. :)

I do agree that going after the other groups makes sense, as well as leading to some good interaction with the groups, my worry is they chickened out at the vines and we may be leaving something behind in our haste to chase after them.

If that makes any sense.

I think we all tripped over each other a bit here with the strategizing. We can roleplay out a conclusion to the discussion, but it may be prudent to hash things out here first. My goal is not to metagame but rather create clarity as the nature of PbP can make strategizing a bit chaotic sometimes.

Herral had an excellent point about landspeeds, so I propose *these* units/targets:

Anthony + Adrac heading East after Grelm and Gnu.

Herral + Tarkus heading Southwest after Derrak and Aliciette

Soroza + Davi heading South after Pudge and Nirashi

That way, Herral and Tarkus are pursuing the group with Derrak in it (i.e. the slowest of their group).


Looking for someone to agree with Soroza's proposal before moving forward :)

(Also need to know who/what carries the breastplate, if no one speaks up I'm dumping it on Anthony and I don't think he'll appreciate it ;D)

Soroza, since Davi is gone til Friday, if you decide on "to hustle or not to hustle" (and if you want, roll Survival, but I can roll that for you) then I can move forward with your group.
