Congratulations everybody for being selected to join me in this adventure to get to the heart of the curse. We will be starting on Monday, so you can spend this time to iron out any details that need to be sorted out and get to know each other a bit.
I would like everybody to state the following before we start playing, if you would all be so kind:
Your time Zone
Your preference of Hit Points gained at each level
Where in Korvosa you have been staying each night
Thanks

Iolana |

Ah good, starting Monday.
I am boarding a flight to Oslo Saturday morning, arriving Sunday morning. Til the end of January, I will be a GMT +1.
Hit Point Preference is Average, rather than rolled. Without a CON modifier, if I roll poorly Iolana will be suffering pretty badly, even if I play her intelligently.
Bereft of any familial obligations, Iolana would be staying at "poor" inns where the proprietor takes small coin and does not ask for names or remembers faces.

Caim Sevíré |

Yo my new companions. I am the doofus who is playing the one you shall come to know as Caim. This is my first PbP. I'd list of hobbies, dreams, and that sort of thing, but then I'd be too clichéd.
Looking forward to questing alongside yo'll.
And, because Amgir asked:
My Timezone is London standard, which if memory serves also means I'm GMT, but as I'm a doof who barely cares about that sort of thing, I might be mistaken.
My preference to HP progression is either max or average (plus constitution, naturally)
And I'd imagine that in light of his current public profile, Caim is currently residing in out of the way taverns, likely in Old Korvosa.

Razule Yrrum |

Standard time zone: UTC/GMT -6 hours
Average(half +1 +Con) seems to be a base, but in my Serpent's Skull game we can roll and request a re-roll from the GM.
I'll probably be staying in the Pantheon of Many(making slightly cheaper potions for my keep) so I can learn at least a little more about Sheave, or hiding out in one of Old Korvosa's inns like Caim.
*Tyler would know Razule doesn't like it when people use his full name, and usually introduces himself as "Raz" or "Razzy".

Tyler Dylan |

GMT +0
Hit point i would like average +1
Would we be travelling around together to start with, as we have started to trust each and consider each other good friends?

Fealix |

I don't know the time zone thing too well. I am in US/Canada Central time zone. It is 8pm at the time of this post. I'm am usually in bed between 1am and 4am and usually wont wake until around noon.
Also, I wanted to ask about the Maturity level for this game. The reason I ask is because Fealix IS evil and will act as much. He will say and do some very disturbing things if the DM allows. I just want to know where the DMs stance is on things like extreme violence, sex, and other questionable behavior.
I will conform to the wishes of those I play with so as not to offend.
Please note Fealix isnt a selfish sort of evil where he goes out of his way to screw others to benefit himself. His evil resides around revenge, his obscure and twisted view of justice for all, deception, and sex. Those are the most motivating aspects of his evil side. Samira is the deity whose minions influence fealix. To some extent Lamasthu also influences him. He takes what teachings he likes from these fellows and applies them.
I want to know how you all feel about playing with such a character. I want to resolve any issues now so they wont impede the game. Dont worry, he wont try and mess any of you up unless you wrong him in some way.
P.S. This is my first Evil character ever.

Amgir |

I personally have no problem with those things, however since it is a game for you players I will leave the decision up to you.
Is Fealix' evil too much for everyone, or can they cope with such acts?
For life points per level, we shall be taking the average for your class +1 plus your Con modifier.

Krill Thirstslaken |

Looking at Fealix's sheet I did notice a lot of immunities and damage reduction(Untyped) as a first level character plus immunity to criticals. CR 0.5 is an understatement. I feel that the character is overpowering the rest of the pcs.
I do not have a problem with evil characters, only that we should at least moderate if the group has minors.

Amgir |

Krill has raised a very good point, how do you have the immunities and damage reduction Fealix?
The resistances I can understand, due to your race, but not the immunities and damage reduction.
Also although it is a very bizzare question, could anyone who is under 16 Post just to say, so we will know about the moderation.
I don't want someone to be finding another character repulsive and not say something, as that would ruin the game for yourself. If you do have something to say with someones character when we start playing, just put a post in this thread and we will try to remedy the problem.
Fealix, where are you staying in Korvosa?

Caim Sevíré |

I have no issue with extreme violence and that sort of thing, so long as they serve a purpose beyond being gratuitous. Have a purpose; it's fine by me.
And has anybody else noticed our rogues lack of trap finding skills? I am not looking forward to walking down a passage only to get a spike up the bum.

Fealix |

Took me a moment to figure out where those rules you mentioned came from. Looks like I forgot to turn off UCs special updates in herolab. I'll fix it when I get home this afternoon.
Also, any Fealix does has purpose. :)

Amgir |

Tyler Dylan |

does anyone mind that tyler has no trap finding skills or do you want me to change it so i do? all trapfinding does is give me a bonus on perception to spot traps and disable device to disarm them, also allowing me to disarm magical traps. without it i can just disarm nonmagical traps.

Hu5tru |

Sex and violence in an AP. NO WAI!
*puts foot down*
I am actually wondering where Iolana will go. I mean, vengeance isn't a particularly good motivation.
Anyway, i will not be able to post til tuesday. I get into Olso at 4:25 GMT +1 after a host of bovine feces on account of the big storm and Newark airport being closed, and, I will need some time to decompress from all the aforementioned bovine feces to game.
Hope this does not jar anyone horribly. It's just been a really really bad few days with this travel stuff.

Fealix |

I can't open most google hosted documents on my PC or my cell phone. I have no idea what the card says.
One more thing. Fealix would usually only take one companion for the night as he really enjoys developing that kind of bond with the person.

Amgir |

Raz, thank you for the support. I am at the moment trying to work out when to post. I am trying to let you all role-play your characters out and get to know each other a bit. But I also don't want this to fade out of existence, so trying to work out when I should post is trial and error at the moment.

Solin Outlander |

...good point... though I read it as otherwise, but eh, we all make mistakes, it was a learning experience for him to learn that I suffer far too often in RPGs... *cough*becauseofyou*cough*
...
What?
Ah, you know I mean it all in good fun anyway... except for the initial act of aggression, the rest is all in good humour.

![]() |

Or maybe he was saying if he survives the encounter with the Shark and finds out what Fealix has done, he would not be happy? That is how I read it anyway.
It's this one. He spent a lot of time taking the brunt of Lamm's beatings and now an ex-Little Lam is beating another one? Not gonna fly with Raz.

Amgir |

You are all getting amazing rolls and making this look easy. Lamm had a load of dialogue, but was unable to say it. Yargin had other options but died before he could do them ... Only Gobblegut left, then searching the fishery and boat at the back. Luckily each time Yargin tried to use the wand, he was 1 point away from succeeding, if that was a player, I would feel very sorry for them.

Iolana |

Just so ya'll know, my bard of Shelyn's coldness towards flowery prose applied to murder is not mine. I actually find it kinda interesting how the characters are defending being savage. And she's sitting there watching and not fleeing in terror, so it's not like she has that high of moral ground to judge from.
