The half-elf advances to Q20 and attempts again to perforate the defiant and diminutive druid, letting his arrows do the talking for him. Sadly, they seem to be as articulate as he is....

"You're not getting away that easily." Las realizes the eagle is out of range of his adhesive spittle and decides to use his wand.
Whoops! adhesive spittle only has a range of 15', not 30'. Las would know that, even though I forgot, so I'll just use my wand.
UMD for Magic Missile: 1d20 + 9 + 1d1d6 ⇒ (12) + 9 + (4) = 25
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
DC is 14 (Reflex) to keep from having wings stuck and falling straight down. Regardless of save creature is entangled and can only move half distance.
A creature that is glued to the floor (or unable to fly) can break free by making a DC 17 Strength check or by dealing 15 points of damage to the goo with a slashing weapon. A creature trying to scrape goo off itself, or another creature assisting, does not need to make an attack roll; hitting the goo is automatic, after which the creature that hit makes a damage roll to see how much of the goo was scraped off. Once free, the creature can move (including flying) at half speed. If the entangled creature attempts to cast a spell, it must make a concentration check with a DC of 15 + the spell's level or be unable to cast the spell. The goo becomes brittle and fragile after 2d4 rounds, cracking apart and losing its effectiveness. An application of universal solvent to a stuck creature dissolves the alchemical goo immediately. Crafting this item is a DC 25 Craft (alchemy) check.

With few ways of dealing with the flying enemy, Taliesin settles for slinging a stone upward.
"I haven't really used this thing before--in combat, anyway," she laments as the stone flies heavenward.

Morvius laughs. "Good th-thing you were along, Tali!" He'll search the enemy craft for any indication of organization--papers warning them about the party, log books, and the like.

After the groups collects the body of the druid, Las retrieves his dropped items and makes sure to kill the crocodile. The immediate danger eliminated, plops himself on the deck in a heap.
"Desna's beard! That is not how you want to start the day. Nonetheless, that was some impressive team work.." Las looks over at the permanently dead croc. "I really aught to eat this thing on principle, but I don't have much of an appetite."
"Some of these pirates might still be alive. We should question them, find out who their contact is."
Las uses two applications of his wand of infernal healing on himself, then heals Truk, unless the half-orc objects.

Las does one last search of the all the assailants, including the croc for any gear they might have missed or information as to who they are and where they are from. Take 20 on each one.
"Apologies, Truk, I seem to have gotten on the bad side of this wand and it will no longer heed my commands. Perhaps the potions will be of some use or one of the others can use their wands."

"Wow! Look what I did!" Taliesin exclaims after her sling knocks the enemy druid from the sky.
"I guess I'm skilled and lucky! What can I say!?"
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
The bard uses one more charge of her wand to heal herself.
"Well...that could have been worse, I suppose. Though I did use all my best spells for today. Let's see if any of them are alive."
Are any of the enemy still alive, specifically the druid?

DM Amazing Red |

Everything else is mundane which is why I didn't mention it. The croc only has bits and pieces of Lajas in its teeth, but no gear. They're all alive. The croc is in danger of drowning but you can save it if you want.
You notice that from their flashy fighting style and from their exotic weapons, atleast two of them are well trained in combat.

"This is disturbing...but not entirely unanticipated. I wonder if their style of fighting may have been more suitable for the arena than the top of a boat....".....Las taps one of the fallen with his foot. "...and judging by the outcome, I suspect they might have done better had there been an audience."
"Taliesin, you are skilled in the art of performance. Did you notice for certain whether it was a particular style or whether it was arena-style combat?"
Las thinks to himself, Why do I get the feeling we are going to find ourselves in the arena.
Las was not able to heal Truk at all. Las healed himself first and then the wand quit working (rolled a 1 on UMD). But the CLW's potions are free and hopefully Morvuis or Tali has a CLW's wand.
"Truk, are you skilled in the art of interrogation?"

Before Morvius actually uses his wand, looks at the elf and the bard,
"If either of you are skilled in the use of magical devices or can cast infernal healing please feel free to give my wand a try."

Assuming someone wakes up the prisoner:
Truk crouches down next to the bound halfling and her studded leather straight jacket.
"It's over. We beat you, your pet, and your goons. Tell about your operation, including who you're working for and where those stolen supplies are going and we'll let you live."
Diplomacy aid (for Tali probably): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

"Wake up, sunshine!" Taliesin says in a sing-song voice, though she feels less than friendly.
"Do you mind telling us why you attacked us? Oh, and who you work for, as well?"
diplomacy: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18

"My, my," Taliesin mourns. "You aren't very friendly, are you? Perhaps I can change your mind."
Cast charm person. Also, here's a perform check that Lajas wanted me to make to see if they looked like gladiators or something.

Las looks at Morvius with a smirk, "What do you think? Is she telling us a truth? I am not convinced she really wants us to pick a hell. I suspect she has one she would prefer."

![]() |

Taliesin winks at the others.
"I knew you would come around. You seem so pleasant. Perhaps when we are done here, we can go shopping or you can tell me about that lovely pet you have," the bard says.
"But as I was saying, best friend, I have three questions. First, who do you work for? Second, why did you attack us? And third, do some of you have gladiator training from somewhere? You are so helpful. I'm sure someone has told you that before."

@GM - I take it we searched their boat thoroughly already?

"Tali, let us find out where this shipment is suppose to go, who is waiting for it, and whether we might find this Deremin character there. I am also curious if Deremin has an allegiance to any specific organizations. Finally, why is the druid working for this person?"
K. Local on Deremin (T10 w/Guidance): 10 + 8 + 1 + 1d1d6 ⇒ 10 + 8 + 1 + (3) = 22

Taliesin nods.
"Those questions he just asked are exactly the ones I was hoping you would help me with, best friend! Can you answer those for me? I can't believe we finally found each other. You are so special!"

![]() |

Las continues, "How is the base defended? Is there a password or unguarded entrance? Who is Deremin selling these goods to? Is he working with anyone in Tymon?"

![]() |

"How many guards? How are you finding out about these Pathfinder shipments? Does your group have a name?"
I take it K. Local gave me zip on Deremin?

![]() |

"You said Deremin was your friend, how did you meet? Can you tell us more about what he looks like, where is he from?"
Deremin could be anyone? Not sure what you mean. Is Deremin a super common name?

Las makes sure that the druid cannot hear the conversation, "I am not convinced we are equipped to take on 'alot' of guards. I would like to know more about what we are up against."
