Crimeny. I had send an email asking the on-line VO and he said it is not allowed. I think the fear is that they don't want alchemists making cheap alchemical items for other characters. Apparently this constitutes "trading services" and is verboten.
I'll still make the items and let Tali use them.

I'm in a meeting now, so will be quiet most of the rest of today; tomorrow is a travel day, which will also keep me away from the boards most of the time.

In the late morning, a handful of naked, convicted criminals “fight” a gelatinous cube
Now that's funny.

Sorry; I was on the road today. Morvius will go in with mage armor running.

Is the quicksand fixed and easy to spot or does it move around?
Las will drink some Sooth Syrup before entering the arena.
Probably a waste of 8 gp, but it's only 8 gp. Las will also coat himself with alchemical grease.
Las' extracts will be:
Shield
Adhesive Spittle x2
Illusion of Calm
He'll start the combat with his crossbow loaded.
@Morv and Tali - If I call firecracker, then I'll be throwing down my firecrackers for one of you to light with spark. Alternatively, you could call for me to throw them down as well.

![]() |

Is this enough of an urban setting for Morvius to get his favored terrain bonus? Also, would he get his favored enemy bonus to Perception to spot the quicksand if they were placed by humans?

Do both sides have to expend Move actions to find them?
I'm assuming that they do move from fight to fight, if not, can we use Gather Information or maybe K. Engineering to find out where they are built into the arena (if they never move)?

Just advertising my Character Folio to justify using the reroll if necessary.

I had a question about the benefits of Crowd Points.
Any time a combatant performs one of the following actions, he or she earns the team one Crowd Point. As a swift action as part of any action that would earn a Crowd Point, the combatant may attempt a DC 19 Perform (act), (dance), or (oratory) check to increase the total points earned by 1. When a team has a number of Crowd Points equal to or greater than the number of combatants on the team, all team members gain a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls, combat maneuver checks, ability checks, skill checks, and saving throws. If a team has twice as many Crowd Points as members, increase the bonus to +2. Should a team’s Crowd Points total drop below 0, team members suffer a –1 penalty on attack rolls, combat maneuver checks, ability checks, skill checks, and saving throws. If a team has a negative Crowd Point total equal to or greater than the number of team members (for example, –5 points for a 5-person team), increase this penalty to –2.
Is an unconscious or dead team member still considered to be a combatant? That is, if, e.g., you have a five-person team with four Crowd Points and one of your team members gets taken out, do you now have a four-person team with four Crowd Points, and your morale suddenly improves?

Let's hope it's based on the starting number.

Question on the map. I thought Morvuis was in front of Tali and behind Truk. My intention was to stand next to Morvuis so I would be giving bonus to all three and getting bonus from all three. Seems like you've switched the locations of M and Ta?

![]() |

Also, could you repost the init order with the slayers gone? Seems its all them then all of us, but I'm not sure.

![]() |

So someone help me with the flanking rules, doesn't Helkit have to be diagonal from the dog for the dog to get a flanking bonus?

![]() |

When in doubt about whether two characters flank an opponent in the middle, trace an imaginary line between the two attackers' centers. If the line passes through opposite borders of the opponent's space (including corners of those borders), then the opponent is flanked.
From the map, the center-to-center line for Helkit and Brimstone doesn't go through opposite sides of Truk's space.
Also, is she evil?

![]() |

You are correct. In that case take 6 from Brimstone's attack roll so he misses and she'll just dazzling display again which gives her a 22. So everyone is shaken for 2 rounds instead of attacking Truk.
As an FYI, I have barbarian with Intimidating Glare and I run into this problem:
Try Again: You can attempt to Intimidate an opponent again, but each additional check increases the DC by +5. This increase resets after 1 hour has passed.
So the DC goes up by 5 each subsequent attempt.

![]() |

@Gm - So Helkit has not invoked Rage, or has?
@team - welcoming any ideas on what you'd like to see me do, especially from Truk since he is the one in immediate danger.

![]() |

@Tali - Devotion for AC's give +4 versus enchantments. Kicks in at 6th level for the druid.
@Morv - Might have a better chance to disarm. Get +2 with whip. With all the Dex penalties and AC penalties, it might work. But I would probably need to roll high.
Let's see what happens with Tali's spell.
Also, remember, we need to be right next to Truk and each other to get the AC and save bonuses.

![]() |

No, Study combat/strike is not for another level. Shaken at the moment. Not that high an attack bonus. Unlikely that I will kill the dog.
I need to get an update from the GM on whether you grappled Helkit and/or if the bard spell took effect. Given the huge Dex penalty for being entangled and Enlarged, I think I have a decent chance of disarming her.
Also, did Morvius hit? With Shaken he rolled a 16, but girl is down 6 points on AC and possibly down 8 if Raged.
EDIT: My bad. Was looking at Mythic Enlarge I guess normal Enlarge only drops 2 off Dex and 1 off of AC.

![]() |

@ GM - Tali's spell was aimed at Helkit, which I assume is also a success given the rolled 5, unless Helkit is getting +12 on Will saves.
Also Las has Whip Mastery, so I believe that punches through all armor, if I attack it.

![]() |

You're 4 minutes too late. The fight's over. =P
You'd be surprised at how many scenarios I've won by procrastinating until the GM can't take it and just let's me win.
;-P
Nice job all. Great job by the GM, especially on account of his tolerating all our OOC posts.
Tali...you have my number if you need me, if not, 43870-5. xD
Truk, you the half-man. Where are we off to next? Morvius, you coming?

![]() |

Hmmm. Las gets bumped to level 4 with this scenario and then gets the benefit of GM chronicle. Going to have some cash and some crafting to do.
Really interested in this Studied Combat thing and whether it will make much of difference in combat. I can barely kill a cockroach as it stands now.

![]() |

Thanks for running--that was fun, even if Morvius' dice went cold at the end. He was kind of a beast for the manticore fight and against the mooks, though.
67750-5
No day job. This gets Morvius to L5, so his damage output is going to jump a bit--combination of the +4 BAB break for Deadly Aim, and picking up Rapid Shot as his L5 feat.

![]() |

Great run, everyone! I was worried on that first fight, but we breezed through after that!
My day job is rolled in my first post in this thread (was a 30).
Thanks for running that!

![]() |

Sorry, email is ArrowhawkonMW@gmail.com
FYI, I will have bunch of additional crafting to add once I get the sheet and figure out how much gold I'll have. I can just add they myself later if you want to note that I will be doing some crafting.

Just wanted to commend our GM on the willingness to correct the results based on information from the players. As a GM, I go by the same philosophy and have no problem fixing something if it needs to be fixed. There are just so many rules, it's impossible to keep track of it all.
I also know that PbP GMing takes way more time than normal GMing, so I always appreciate those willing to do it.
