Chantif |

If he already had nonlethal damage, doesn't that knock him out? Assuming that Drexel dropped...
Chantif sees Drexel drop. The best laid plans.... He begins repeatedly blowing his whistle while he stows his shortbow and then runs towards Drexel, pulling out his longspear as he goes.

sarpadian |
Given the amount of time it would have taken everyone to get in position, which I had forgotten to take into account, Drexel should be at only 2 nonlethal damage and 1 HP. He is unconscious, but not dying. Similarly, by now Rhona has healed the last point of nonlethal damage.
Drexel falls to the ground, clearly unconscious. Chantif rushes towards his fallen comrade as he blows his whistle.
Chantif, since you're trying to stow your shortbow and pull out your longspear, you're making a double move instead of a run action. You should be able to move yourself on the map. Rhona, Det, and Umash are up. Please post your character's reaction to the whistle; that way, I'll know if you're purposefully not reacting or just haven't had a chance to post yet.

Det jumps up at the sound of the whistle and immediately starts running toward the hut, but trying to get back to the road as well.
Det figures something is up when the whistle blows, so he starts running toward the last place he saw danger: the hut.

Rhona Patenaude |

Rhona bites her lip and rises from her sniping position, hoping the blasted wizard hadn't gotten himself killed, then begins running as quickly as she can- given her heavily armored state- toward the sound of the whistle being blown repeatedly.
I'll keep the shortbow out for the moment. I'm more worried about closing the distance than having the right weapon out.

sarpadian |
Rhona, if you were saying that you kept the shortbow out in response to me saying that Chantif couldn't use the run action, you're in the same boat for a different reason. Running is a full-round action. Since you have to stand up, which takes a move action, you can't take a full-round action this round. (Chantif was already standing, but he was trying to stow/draw weapons, so he had a different move equivalent action hindering him.) If you want, you might as well stow the bow as part of the move action to stand up and pull out your longsword as part of the move action to the road; it won't slow you down any more than standing up will. You want to be on the road at the beginning of your next turn because another requirement of the run action is that you move in a straight line. You can move yourself on the map, and let me know what you decide on the weapon situation

sarpadian |
I've been waiting for Umash to post, but I'm going to move things along now.
Umash dashes up to the road and heads towards the hovel. Chantif can see two human-sized figures (he can only assume they're the gnolls, but the distance makes things kind of fuzzy) move out onto the road.
Edit: The party is up.

sarpadian |
Time to move things along. I've moved Det towards the action at a run.
Chantif hears a high-pitched voice, coming from the grass northeast of him, as a ball of flame arcs towards him. It hits the road in front of him. The gnolls wait with their bows drawn, daring Chantif to try and rescue his downed companion.
Party up.

Chantif |

Chantif glances in the direction of the voice, but keeps running for Drexel.
Going after the caster seems like the better move strategically, but Chantif is *very* concerned about Drexel dying on his watch.
For those of you who haven't seen the map yet, Chantif is now standing beside Drexel's body. There is just over 120 feet between Drexel's body and the Gnolls.
Someone should go after the caster.

sarpadian |
The gnolls each unleash an arrow at Chantif when he reaches Drexel. One of them (the one whom Drexel shot actually) is able to lead Chantif by precisely the right amount, and his arrow slams into Chantif's arm, piercing his armor. The other gnoll misses wildly.
Chantif, based on where I remember you being last round, you must have taken a run action. If you did, then you take 6 damage.

Rhona Patenaude |

Yikes. Don't die, Chantif! I'm guessing I saw the fireball, right?
Rhona continues moving toward the gnolls, drawing her shield and banging on it with her sword.
If getting my shield up costs an action, I'm just doing a regular move, I guess. I'm going to work under the assumption that I can't get my shield ready and run at the same time. Otherwise keep me movin' until I'm as close to Drexel as I can get. Still having computer troubles, sorreh. My computer isn't really up to loading Roll20 until I get it fixed.

sarpadian |
Det gets hit in the face with another ball of flame. Each of the gnolls unleash another arrow. This time, it is the unwounded gnoll whose arrow strikes Chantif.
Det takes 8 damage, and Chantif takes 5 damage. Party up.

sarpadian |
Potions are in glass bottles. At the very least, he would need to roll something to catch it because it will break if it hits the ground. I think I'll treat it as a bomb attack at 55' (which I think was the range before Chantif moved) and let him carry the potion in his teeth or something while he carries Drexel :) The attack roll is against AC 5 (as if you were targeting a grid intersection), and the DC on the Dex check is 10.
the throw: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (11) - 2 = 9
the catch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Chantif |

Thanks! Now Chantif has to make an IC decision to take it himself or give it to Drexel. He'll probably decide to take it himself since he feels more confident that Drexel will end up alive if he does so.
By the way, I'm assuming that since you reminded us ooc that Drexel is stabilized that Chantif could tell at a glance, and doesn't need to make a heal check to confirm IC.

Ouch, I totally did not see him on the map last time I moved. Did he just pop up or am I going crazy?
Det curses himself for not seeing the spell caster in time as he backpedals as fast as he can. He pulls out potion and drinks it, hoping that it is enough to keep him from being burnt to a crisp.

Another ball of flame erupts from somewhere north of the road and travels towards Det. It falls short, and the grass in front of Det begins to smolder. The gnolls both unleash arrows blindly towards where they think Chantif and Drexel are. Neither of them get particularly close.
The square in front of Det is on fire. The smoke gives partial concealment (20% miss chance). Party up.

Chantif |

Chantif gets onto his stomach and drinks the potion. Sorry mate, but I can't keep you alive if I'm out myself. Then he pulls Drexel onto his back and begans to crawl in the direction the flames have been coming from, slowly and quietly, with his longspear in his right hand.
CLW Potion: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
I moved Chantif 10 feet. Please move him any additional distance he can move, and move Drexel with him. Once Chantif thinks he has the drop on the caster he will set Drexel down and charge with his Longspear.

Sorry I wasn't able to look at the map yesterday.
Choking on the thick black cloud of smoke that formed when the fireball hit the ground, Det pulls out a javelin and slings it at the spellcaster as hard as he can.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 - 2 = 10 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

sarpadian |
Another ball of flame leaps towards Det. It lands behind him and to his left, creating another plume of smoke. The gnolls move to the other side of the road in order to have a better angle for shooting at Umash, whom they just saw run off the road. They each cut loose with an arrow. One of them flies off into the distance, but the one fired by the wounded gnoll strikes Umash in the chest.
Umash takes 8 damage. Party up.

Umash, the Unwanted |

Umash slams against the wall, pulling out a vial, "Come on, you mangy inbred hyenas! So afraid of a little girl? Get over here!" she shouts at the gnolls in orcish and downs the alchemical extract.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
She growls a few orcish curses under her breath as she realizes that the extract could barely unfold its potency.

Okay I have a chance way sooner than I thought, so I'll post while I can
Javelin: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 Damage: 1d6 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 - 2 = 6
Det knows that he's getting lucky with these fireballs, so he takes out a javelin and throws it as hard as he can and hopes that he lands a hit.

sarpadian |
The gnolls each arc an arrow over the stone fence that encircles the field between Umash and the hovel. Neither of them strike her.
I moved Rhona again, but the rest of the party is up. Chantif, I was just looking at the equipment spreadsheet, and I can't tell if you've been marking off the potions y'all have used. If not, please do so. I also noticed that you have a scroll of CLW, if you feel the need to try your luck again.

Down to one javelin left, I'm going to make it last as long as I can by trying to draw him closer and maybe give Rhona time to catch up.
Det pulls out his last javelin and backs up, jumping behind the last pillar of smoke. Once he is there he shouts, "Come on then! How many time do ye have to miss me before you come over here and fight me like a man!"
